IRS Will Face Lawsuit Over Targeting of Pro-Life, Conservative Groups

The IRS will soon face more than controversy and Congressional hearings over its discrimination of pro-life and conservative groups. The federal agency will soon find itself in court.

Next week, the ACLJ will directly confront the IRS with a lawsuit representing dozens of victims of its discriminatory actions.

 “As the IRS scandal escalates, with new evidence showing that the IRS even targeted people who “criticize how the country is being run” for extra and unconstitutional scrutiny, our message is clear,” Jay Sekulow of the ACLJ says. “Enough is enough.”

The head of the pro-life legal group adds: “Today, we’re working closely with Members of Congress to demand full information and full accountability from the Obama Administration. But next week we’re escalating our attack. We intend to file suit against key officials in the IRS on behalf of potentially dozens of conservative organizations.”
