Victory--PA Senate Votes to Ban Brutal Dismemberment Abortions

By Maria Gallagher, Legislative Director
Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation

The Pennsylvania Senate last week voted by an overwhelming margin of 32-18 to pass Senate Bill 3, a common sense bill which would ban the brutal practice of dismemberment abortions, in which babies are torn limb by limb from their mothers' wombs.

The measure would also change the legal limit for abortions in PA from six months' to five months' gestation, based on medical advances that are increasingly saving the lives of premature infants.

But our work is not done! For babies and their mothers to be saved from dismemberment abortions, the House must pass a ban this session too. The House and Senate must approve identical language for the bill to proceed to the next step--the Governor's office.

PLEASE CALL AND EMAIL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE IN THE PENNSYLVANIA HOUSE WITH THIS URGENT MESSAGE: Please pass a ban on the gruesome practice of dismemberment abortions. For the sake of both the babies and their mothers, please pass the ban!
