Hospital Stops Abortions After Every Single Doctor Signs Pledge Refusing to Do Them

Life News

A hospital in Poland has stopped doing abortions after every single physician there signed a pledge refusing to do them. This good news is a lesson for the United States and other countries where abortion is legal — that getting doctors to stand up for life and the Hippocratic Oath is a method of protecting women and unborn children even within the confines of legalized abortion.

Here’s more:

A hospital in Rzeszów, Poland has stopped doing abortions after its doctors signed a clause that allows them to opt out because of conscience.

The Specialist Hospital Pro-Familia has become notorious for performing abortions when a midwife named Agata Rejman exposed its activities two years ago.

In January 2014, Rejman spoke at a press conference and testified to the abortions that were being done in the hospital. She said she and others working there cited the conscience clause and said that they refused to be involved in abortion, Rzeszow News reported.

The management responded by demanding that Rejman retract her statements, especially those saying that Pro-Familia “kills children.” Rejman was asked to pay 50,000 zlotych for Podkarpackie Hospice for Children and was threatened with a lawsuit if she failed to do this.

In the U.S. regarding doctors and abortions, the Obama Administration looks like it’s on a mission to trample religious and conscience protections and force as many people as it can to promote and pay for abortions.
Breitbart reports the pro-abortion administration issued a new nondiscrimination policy in the name of “equity” on Friday that pressures doctors and hospitals to promote and perform abortions. Those that don’t would not be eligible for federal funds including Medicare and Medicaid, according to the report.

Planned Parenthood: Myths vs. Facts

from Shawn Carney, President
40 Days for Life

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion chain in North America ... responsible for more than 300,000 abortions every year ... and they do so with over $500 million of your tax money.

You may be aware of the ongoing investigations of Planned Parenthood for trafficking in aborted baby body parts.

But you may also hear that they do so many "good things for women" – especially poor women – and that abortion represents a mere 3 percent of their "health care services."  What does it all mean?  What should you really believe?

Find out for yourself on this week's 40 Days for Life podcast by clicking on the image below.

Steve Karlen, 40 Days for Life's North American campaign director, joins me for a point-by-point look at what Planned Parenthood does ... and how tax dollars pay for it.

Is there a Planned Parenthood center in your city? There should be a peaceful 40 Days for Life prayer vigil there! The next campaign runs September 28 to November 6 ... and applications to lead local vigils will open next month.

Check out the podcast ... and discern your involvement in that campaign:

Prayer works! Following 40 Days for Life campaigns outside their doors, 29 Planned Parenthood locations have closed, including 16 abortion centers and 13 abortion referral offices.

Will the next one come in your city? God works miracles, so it could happen!

Planned Parenthood Pushes Bill Making It Illegal to Record Undercover Footage Like David Daleiden Did

daviddaleiden2

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

The Planned Parenthood abortion business s fighting David Daleiden and pro-life advocates on all fronts after his organization released undercover footage showing top abortion business officials at multiple locations discussing how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of unborn babies for profit. Now, in California, the abortion giant is pushing a bill that would make recording such undercover footage illegal.

The Life legal Defense Foundation, a pro-life legal group, provided LifeNews.com with the details:

Planned Parenthood is sponsoring legislation in California to criminalize the publication of evidence of its business practices, which include harvesting and selling the body parts of aborted babies.

Assembly Bill 1671 would make it a crime to publish confidential conversations with certain health care providers—most notably, anyone affiliated with an abortion clinic. This means anyone who posts a photo or video of an interaction with an abortion clinic employee or volunteer—including clinic escorts—could be prosecuted under the bill. AB 1671 provides for penalties of up to $10,000 per violation and one year in state prison.

Legislative analysts expressed concern that the bill would violate the First Amendment, which “gives the free press the protection it must have to fulfill its essential role in democracy.” The U.S. Supreme Court has held that “prior restraints on speech and publication are the most serious and least tolerable infringement on First Amendment rights.”

SIGN THE PETITION: Drop the Charges Against David Daleiden and Charge Planned Parenthood

The original, broader version of the bill, which did not single out health care providers for protection, drew opposition from the California Newspaper Publishers Association and animal rights activists. After the bill was amended to more specifically target anti-abortion investigative activities, these groups withdrew their opposition. Neither the ACLU nor any other civil liberties or journalism organization has voiced opposition.

Blogger's Commentary: If not for David Daleiden's undercover videos, we would have never known about the macabre business of selling body parts of aborted babies by Planned Parenthood.  He pulled back the curtain and exposed their evil "business" pre and post abortion.  His actions struck a lethal blow to Planned Parenthood. In the aftermath, states have enacted legislation against this practice, as well as other pro-life laws.

Ethical Objections to Embryo Research can Trigger Genuine Progress

It now appears that the 'vital' 3-parent
embryo technique may be harmful

by Philippa Taylor
MercatorNet

An admission from scientists in the latest issue of the journal Nature, that production of three-parent embryos may not accomplish the stated goals, reminds me of a promise made by then Prime Minister Gordon Brown in 2008, one that most people have long forgotten.

In fact, I suspect that many MPs and a good number of scientists would prefer his promises were conveniently forgotten. Talking about the creation of animal-human hybrid embryos Brown said: “I also see the profound opportunity we have to save and transform millions of lives through this strand of medicine.”

He continued: “The doctors and scientists I speak to are committed to what they see as an inherently moral endeavour that can save and improve the lives of thousands and, over time, millions of people.” (emphases added)

To be fair to Brown, he was responding to the promises of scientists, aided by the media, to make these claims, and perhaps one day hybrid embryos will be successfully created and will help with some research. But the promises that they will save millions were utterly farcical, both then and now.

Despite Pro-life Laws, Planned Parenthood Will Apply for an Abortion License in Louisiana

Planned Parenthood vs Health Centers in Louisiana

By Danny David
Live Action News

As Live Action News’s Calvin Freiburger reported, on Monday, the Louisiana Senate voted 33-2 to eliminate taxpayer funding for any organization the provides elective abortions. Governor John Bel Edwards, a pro-life Democrat, is expected to sign the bill into law.

Despite the new law, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards says the abortion giant “absolutely” plans to apply for an abortion license for its new clinic in New Orleans. Richards attempted to justify the move by calling abortion “a legal medical service, not only in the country, but even in the state of Louisiana. And it’s really important that women can get the full spectrum of reproductive health care services.”

Richards called the pro-life legislation unconstitutional, and threatened the state with litigation:

"As we take these assaults on women’s health across the country, we will do whatever it takes to provide women in Louisiana the same access to services as women in other states. Litigation is one of the tools that we will look at."

The new clinic is scheduled to open next month, replacing a 35-year-old facility, and Richards says the amount of patients seen by Planned Parenthood in the city should double. If the abortion license is obtained, the new facility would be the first Planned Parenthood to offer abortions in the state of Louisiana.

West Virginia Becomes Latest State to Ban Dismemberment Abortion Tearing Off Baby’s Limbs

West Virginia for Life
Life News

Sunday, May 29, marks the 90th day since final passage in the West Virginia legislature of the Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act (SB 10). It will now take effect.

On March 10, the West Virginia Senate voted 25-9 and the House of Delegates voted 85-15 to override Governor Earl Ray Tomblin’s veto of the Dismemberment Abortion Ban, making West Virginia the third state to pass this historic legislation. The bill, which earlier had passed 24-9 in the Senate (2/17/16) and 86-13 in the House (2/29/16), was vetoed on March 9, by Governor Tomblin.

Prior to its passage in West Virginia, the measure was in effect in Kansas and Oklahoma. Since successful passage in West Virginia, Mississippi and (most recently) Alabama have followed suit. The bill presently awaits the Governor’s signature in Louisiana and has also been introduced in Idaho, Missouri, and Nebraska. It is expected to be introduced in several other states as well.

SUPPORT LIFENEWS! If you like this pro-life article, please help LifeNews.com with a donation!

Karen Cross, legislative coordinator for West Virginians for Life (WVFL) said, “We at West Virginians for Life were not surprised with Governor Tomblin’s veto of the dismemberment abortion ban because this is his third veto of pro-life legislation in as many years. What did surprise us is that despite a huge bipartisan majority in both houses, Governor Tomblin vetoed legislation that simply says we won’t dismember a living, fully formed unborn child by removing her limb from limb while she’s alive.”

WVFL President Wanda Franz commented, “We are extremely grateful for the pro-life leadership and legislators who voted to override the Governor’s veto, therefore voting to protect West Virginia’s unborn children from this barbaric dismemberment procedure.”

In West Virginia, the bill garnered 100% support from women senators and 83% from women delegates.

Attorney General Patrick Morrisey has said he will defend the law should it be challenged in court.

TV Commercial Tacky, in Poor Taste and Dehumanizing? Yes

bonjovicommericial88

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life

Tip of the hat to LifeNews for a heads-up on a genuinely bizarre commercial, one that is, at the very best, in questionable taste.

The setting for the Direct TV commercial is a couple ensconced on their couch, realizing they’d forgotten to record a program they wished to see. Turns out Direct TV has some gizmo that gives them {viewers} a kind of second chance.

Put more accurately (to quote the company’s pitch), “72 Hour Rewind is a new HD DVR feature that lets you immediately watch shows that aired in the past 72 hours. Now you’ll never have to worry about missing a show again.”

In the ad, Jon Bon Jovi jumps in, acoustic guitar on full-throttle, to warble, “You see, we got the power to turn back time/That show you missed, let’s just go back and find.”

Okay, what does that have to do with us? After he advise the couple to consider replacing blasé salsa with the spicy, Bon Jovi eyeballs their young son writing on the wall and offers the thought, “And maybe reconsider having that second child.”

Watch the ad below or on YouTube using this link.

Maybe the ad hit me harder than most because we have a two-year-old grandson who is forever writing on places he shouldn’t. But that wouldn’t lead our son and daughter in law to “reconsider” Ethan. He is more precious to them–and to us–than the opportunity to watch some meaningless drivel on TV.

End of the world? Of course not,

Tacky and in poor taste and dehumanizing? Yes.

Planned Parenthood Worker Quits After She Was Told to Lie to Sell More Abortions

newborn-sleeping-3

“80 to 90% of women, when they see
their babies on a sonogram, choose life.”

By Sarah Terzo
Live Action News

Angie was a nurse practitioner at a Texas Planned Parenthood. Her facility did not commit abortions, and Angie was never wholeheartedly committed to abortion. Her turning point— the incident that drove her to quit Planned Parenthood—started when a woman who was 20 weeks along in a wanted pregnancy came to the location.

Angie shared her story in a December 21 webcast by And Then There Were None, about why she had deep reservations. She explained that the woman was 20 weeks pregnant, and bleeding. Due to the situation, she took out her own Doppler and listened for the child’s heartbeat:

[I] listened for heart tones and didn’t hear any heart tones. So I told her I’m concerned, I think you may have a fetal demise so I’m going to send you over to the emergency room across the highway and she ended up calling me a couple of days later to me know that she had a fetal demise and ended up, they had to, of course, induce her labor… So she was very grateful for what I had done.

Angie had treated the woman with common courtesy and compassion, checking to see if her baby was still alive and sending her for competent medical care when it was discovered that her baby had passed on. But several days later, she was rebuked for allowing the mother to listen along for the baby’s heartbeat.

[T]he head nurse practitioner of Planned Parenthood North Texas stomped into my office and said, “Who do you think you are, allowing someone to listen to their baby’s heartbeat with a Doppler?

And I said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about” and she said, “Don’t lie, we know you did it.” And I said, “Are you talking about the lady who came in we didn’t hear the heartbeat on, because we found out her baby was a fetal demise?”

And she said yes. “Somebody in the clinic told me that you were using a Doppler. We didn’t issue you that piece of equipment.”

It was clear that equipment to measure a preborn baby’s heartbeat was not welcome at Planned Parenthood.

Two-Year-Old Cries When She Sees Her Sister’s Ultrasound Photo: “I Love Her So Much”

myla

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

An adorable new video of a little girl watching her unborn sister move on an ultrasound screen is going viral this week.

The Daily Mail reports 2-year-old Myla accompanied her mother, Carly Tansley, to her 16-week ultrasound appointment last week; but the British mom did not expect that her toddler would react so strongly to seeing her unborn sister.

As Carly was filming her unborn baby’s movements with her phone, she said Myla walked up and hugged the ultrasound screen. Then Myla began crying. On the video, Myla can be heard mumbling through her tears about “missing” her sister.

“Oh, darling, it’s ok. You’re going to see her soon,” her mother said.

“But I love her so much,” the little girl replied.

Tansley posted the heartwarming moment Wednesday on Facebook, and the video quickly garnered a lot of attention, according to the report. Her Facebook page showed more than 106,000 views on Friday.

The girls’ father, Chris l’Anson, said Myla’s reaction “pulls at your heart strings a little bit.”

Her mother added: “I will definitely show her the video when they’re fighting and pulling each other’s hair. I really wasn’t expecting it. It made me well-up, but I was laughing too because it really affected her.”

Tansley said Myla already is planning to give her sister some of her toys, and she can’t wait to meet her. Her baby sister is due Nov. 4, according to the report.

The video is especially touching because 2-year-old Myla recognizes how valuable her little sister is even though she is still in the womb. The toddler sees her unborn sister through eyes not yet filtered by the biases and politics of the world. Her emotional reaction is pure, simple and beautiful; and it serves as an example of how society should welcome every unborn child.

People With Disabilities Do ‘Live Boldly’ — and They’re Not Better Off Dead

image-3

By Cassy Faino
Live Action News

There’s a good chance you’ve seen advertisements for a new movie that will be released next week. Imploring moviegoers to “live boldly,” “Me Before You” is a drama that is being billed as the next great romance.

In reality, it’s nothing more than a snuff film furthering the message that people are better dead than disabled. Based on a novel by British novelist Jojo Moyes, the plotline is being slammed by disability advocates who are calling for people to boycott the film.

In “Me Before You” (note: movie spoilers below), Louisa Clark is a quirky girl whose life has no direction. She’s hired by the mother of Will Traynor, a quadriplegic. Will had been able-bodied, active, successful, and happy… until he was in an accident, which left him wheelchair-ridden. He became withdrawn, depressed, and suicidal, wanting to visit Dignitas — the notorious assisted suicide clinic — to kill himself, which is why Traynor’s mother hired Louisa, in hopes of lifting him out of his funk and reminding him that life is worth living.

While at first the two hate each other, they eventually fall in love, with Will imploring Louisa to live life boldly and to live it well. Louisa takes Will on outings and on a vacation, and while he is happier with her than he ever has been before, he cannot bear to live life in a wheelchair. He chooses to kill himself at Dignitas, and leaves Louisa a large amount of money so that she can live her life to the fullest.

Rather than being seen as promoting a horrific message of “better dead than disabled”, the novel has received rave reviews from critics and readers alike. It was lauded by USA Today, The New York Times, O, the Oprah magazine, Good Housekeeping, and many more. The book was successful enough to spawn a sequel, titled “After You,” and a movie. The harmful messages being promoted are ignored or hushed up.

The disability community has refused to be silent, though. People have begun pushing back against the idea that it’s better for a man in a wheelchair to die than to live as a burden on those around him — and not only that, but that through his death, the life of his lover is improved.

Unique Opportunity!

from Abby Johnson

and THEN there were NONE

Hi friends! I have a unique way for you to help a woman who no longer works in the abortion industry!

A few months ago, we got a call from a woman on our ministry hotline who had just gotten fired from the abortion clinic where she worked. She had found out she was pregnant and went to her boss (who was the abortion doctor) to tell him the good news. He fired her on the spot. She was in shock. She realized then that it wasn't just "unwanted" babies that were an offense to this abortion doctor...it was ALL babies.

She called us in tears. She had heard of our ministry, but was hesitant to seek help from anyone who was pro-life. There had been a group of radical anti-abortion protesters who regularly came outside of the clinic she worked...they called her names, told her she was going to hell, among other things that only pushed her further into the abortion industry. We assured her that our approach was VERY different. We just wanted to love her. There was no judgment or condemnation. We were just a group of people who had walked in her shoes and wanted to accompany her on this journey of healing.

She has been working with us for the past few months. We just love her so much and can't wait to welcome her precious little girl into the world. We are working with a pregnancy center to help with clothes and some other items, but we wanted to give all of you an opportunity to help support her and her daughter!

We have created a baby registry at babyregistry.babiesrus.com/home. We want to protect her confidentiality, so the registry is listed under my name "Abby Johnson." The registry number is 58210866.

There are some awesome sales going on right now and shipping is free! Please help us support this awesome mama!

Pro-Abortion Lawmakers Pressure the G7 to Push Abortion Worldwide

G7 Leaders Commit to Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health Services

by Steven Mosher and Jonathan Abbamonte
Population Research Institute

Leaders of the world’s most powerful countries are meeting this week at the 2016 G7 Summit in Ise-Shima, Japan. The 2016 Summit, like previous G7 meetings, has focused on some of the most pressing issues in the modern world. Items discussed included China’s bogus claim to the entire South China Sea, the Syrian refugee crisis, ways to rebuild a war-torn Ukraine, and formulating a strategy to defeat ISIS. But now G7 leaders are committing to advancing "sexual and reproductive health, rights, and services," a term that, for pro-abortion activists, is synonymous with abortion on the international stage.

A group of lawmakers pushed for access to abortion and "sexual and reproductive health" to be included as a topic of concern at this year's Summit. A recent conference sponsored by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) paid for a gaggle of pro-abortion lawmakers to assemble in Japan to pressure the G7 to support of radical pro-abortion policy.

Media is Essentially Running Free Advertising for the Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz

by Maria Gallagher
for LifeNews.com

It can be argued that Planned Parenthood does not need a communications department, because there are plenty in the news media who are willing to promote the organization, free of charge, and without charging for overtime.

As if I needed another reminder, I recently ran head-first into another case of blatant media bias when it comes to the abortion giant known as Planned Parenthood.

The Scranton Times-Tribune this week ran a glowing endorsement of Planned Parenthood in an op-ed piece entitled, “Trained, ready to fight for freedom of choice.”

The author, Laura Quinones, spoke of her unbridled support of Planned Parenthood, including her enthusiasm for the Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s “largest volunteer training in history,” which took place in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This training, the activist writes, was to “make a difference in the 2016 elections and beyond.”

She further spoke of “reproductive rights” being “under attack,” and touted both the Roe v. Wade decision and abortion.

Court Records: Planned Parenthood Attorney Admits Collusion While DA Confesses She Broke the Law

David Daleiden's attorney vows to "flush out" collusion by putting Planned Parenthood attorney on the stand

By Cheryl Sullenger
Operation Rescue

Houston, TX - An attorney representing Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Josh Schaffer, has admitted that he pressured the Harris County District Attorney's office to refocus a grand jury investigation away from his client and onto pro-life journalists David Daleiden and his associate, Sandra Merritt, of the Center for Medical Progress.

Schaeffer also confessed that Assistant District Attorney Sunni Mitchell did an "end around" the State Attorney General Ken Paxton in order to share sealed video evidence with Planned Parenthood.

The grand jury later returned indictments against Daleiden and Merritt. Shaffer stated publicly that he was informed by the District Attorney's office that no investigation of Planned Parenthood ever took place.

The admissions came in an affidavit filed as an exhibit by Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson to a brief responding to the defendants' motion to quash the indictments against Daleiden and Merritt.

Help Us Ban Dismemberment Abortions in Pennsylvania

from Ted Meehan
Pro-Life Union of Delaware County

Pennsylvania has had enormous difficulty passing Pro-Life Legislation ever since we lost Steve Freind, former State Representative from Delaware County, from our legislature.  We have passed a few minor bills around the periphery of the issue, but bills which focus on the victim have been buried.  We have a chance to change that right now.

H.B. 1948 - aka Dismemberment Ban - prohibits the brutal abortion procedure, which rips a child apart limb-by-limb in her mother's womb. It also moves the ban on elective abortion from 6 months to 5 months.

The bill has made it out of committee, and through 2nd consideration. It needs only to be called for a vote. We have upwards  of 130 votes for it in the House (including an estimated 20 Democrats).

But, on the day of the scheduled final vote, Cecile Richards -CEO of Planned Parenthood - appeared with Governor Tom Wolf at a rally on the steps of the rotunda, to demand the bill be stopped. House "leadership" pulled it back, and it has been sitting there ever since.

We have planned a 1 hour rally on the steps of the rotunda at the Harrisburg Capitol  for June 7 at 11 am. We have a number of great speakers lined up, including Steve Freind.

Please plan to join us at this rally.

In the meantime, continue to contact Speaker of the House, Mike Turzai and Majority Leader Dave Reed and urge them to put H.B. 1948 up for a vote, letting them know that you don't want babies and mothers to suffer from dismemberment abortions.

Twice the Diapers - Twice the Costs - Twice the Anxiety!

from Christopher Bell, President
Good Counsel, Inc.
Homes and Hope for Mothers & Babies

Sarah was fleeing a violent boyfriend, homeless with nowhere to turn, and pregnant... with twins!

Twice the diapers. Twice the clothing. Twice the costs. Twice the anxiety. Sarah showed up at Good Counsel’s door scared and utterly hopeless. “I don’t know what I’m going to do,” she said. “I don’t have the financial means . . .”

Sarah needed a safe place to stay. More than that, she needed someone to care; someone to slip an arm around her shoulder, to assure her there is hope!

Thanks to the generosity of friends like you, we are there to welcome Sarah, her babies, and other scared pregnant women.

I believe this is why God raised up Good Counsel Homes, and why He saw fit to bring you and me together in this work.

Your generous online gift today will provide meals, clothes, and a safe place to stay. Plus you’ll help provide prenatal care, training, and—most of all—a loving and supportive community for mothers and their babies.

When the wise men presented gifts to Baby Jesus, the Bible says Mary “kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart” (Luke 2:19). When you share your gift of compassion today for the babies—born and unborn—who are in Good Counsel’s care, their mothers treasure your love in their hearts. You make a difference!

Please give a special gift now to help the next frightened mother who arrives at our door.

Thank you for responding from a heart of compassion. God bless you.

Good Counsel recognizes the dignity of God-given life from the moment of conception, fostering a nurturing, safe family environment, encouraging self-respect and independence for pregnant mothers and their children in a diverse community of all faiths and beliefs.

Through the intercession of Our Lady of Good Counsel and Mary’s Missionaries, The Good Counsel family promotes the Corporal Works of Mercy for mothers and their children, building a network of homes while advancing the Culture of Life across these United States.

The first roadshow for the year was held Sunday, April 10 at St. Peter Catholic Church in West Brandywine, PA. About thirty people were in attendance to hear how NaProTECHNOLOGY is life affirming health care and assists women with various reproductive health issues. There was a viewing of the film NaPro: A Quiet Revolution produced by the Black Friars Media followed by our wonderful witness couples who told their stories of health and healing. Afterward, Dr. Monique Ruberu, OB/GYN shared with the audience what led her to practice pro-life medicine and then answered questions posed by the audience which were written on index cards. Christina, a local woman who gave her testimony, tells us, “I was so overjoyed to finally meet Dr. Ruberu. She is such an inspiration!”

According to Helen LaFrance, FCP, this road show was a huge success. Helen met people who were very interested in promoting NaProTECHNOLOGY, among them a physician, a chiropractor, and a Knight of Columbus. There were also several couples in the audience who were struggling with infertility and expressed an interest in learning more. Helen said that the materials flew off the table and people wanted the NaProTechnology Revolution book by Dr. Thomas W. Hilgers. She mentioned that there were even a few more names added to our e- mailing list. She shared with us: “What an incredible networking experience!”

The next NaPro Roadshow will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sellersville on July 7, 2016. Please check the website using this link for details.

You can view the film, “NaPro: A Quiet Revolution” that was shown that night  using this link.   The cost is $3.99 to rent or $15.99 to purchase.

Christian Women Funding $100M to Abortion Industry, Care Net President Warns Church

Roland C. Warren

Care Net president and CEO Roland C. Warren
Speaks at the Evangelicals for Life Conference
Washington, DC, January 22, 2016

By Leonardo Blair
Christian Post Reporter

Citing the Church's moral complicity in the abortion industry due to a significant number of churchgoing women who have abortions, Care Net President and CEO Roland C. Warren called for the church to address its own abortion problem before tackling it in secular culture.

"We need to overturn Roe V. Wade in our own hearts and in our own churches, in our own pews. This is the log in our eye versus the speck in the culture's eye. If we want to have an impact in the culture, we need to work on our house first because that would give the message. How many sermons have you heard about that? I've never heard one," Warren said at the Evangelicals for Life conference in Washington D.C., Friday.

Care Net, an Evangelical Christian crisis pregnancy center, is America's largest network of pregnancy centers. Warren said the organization conducted surveys that show that nearly four out of every 10 women were attending church at the time they had their first abortions.

"As part of the survey we talked to women in Church and one of the things that we found was that 4 out of 10 women were…going to church more than monthly at the time of their first abortion. In the church," he stressed.

"And there's other research that shows 65 percent of women who have abortions profess to be Catholic or Protestant. Do the math, a million abortions, 65 percent, that's 650,000 abortions by people who check on boxes to say Catholic or Protestant," he continued.

Warren refused to debate about whether the women were devout or cultural Christians but asserted that their abortions reflected a problem which was not being effectively addressed in the church.

"Let's say there's just 200,000, I'm pretty convinced that's a good number. 200,000 Christians having abortions. The average abortion is around $500, do the math, that's $100 million dollars that Christians are funding the abortion industry," he said.
"We're talking about defunding Planned Parenthood we need to defund Planned Parenthood ourselves," he continued.

"We need to change. Imagine what $100 million a year would do for pregnancy centers, adoption care workers? …And we are giving it to people who are providing abortions at the same time we are protesting as a community," he added.

Citing James 1:27 in the Bible, Warren explained that the Church had a very specific call to address the issue of abortion.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world," he said quoting the scripture.
"When it was written, what was a widow? Primarily a mother without a husband. An orphan was a child without a father and today what we have is cultural-orphans and widows in our churches and our communities but the difference is instead of the husband or father being dead, he's saying to the mother and the child, 'you're dead to me,'" he explained.

Pro-Life Action League to Protest Stericycle Annual Shareholders Meeting on May 25th

Picture was taken in January, 2016 at the Warminster, PA Planned Parenthood

Eric Scheidler
Executive Director
Pro-Life Action League

Tomorrow morning I'm leading a protest outside a Chicago area hotel where the shareholders of Stericycle, Inc. are meeting. I'd like to ask for your special prayers for this protest.
Stericycle is a medical waste company that contracts with Planned Parenthood all over the country. The attorney general of Ohio has implicated them in an investigation of the illegal dumping of fetal remains in Ohio.

As their involvement with Planned Parenthood has come more and more to light, Stericycle stock has taken a plunge -- right before their annual shareholders meeting.

This is an ideal opportunity to push Stericycle -- through their shareholders -- to DUMP Planned Parenthood.

This would cause a major crisis for the nation's largest abortion chain. If they can't dispose of medical waste -- or the bodies of their unborn victims -- they can't stay in business.

So please offer up some prayers for the protest tomorrow morning. Specifically, please pray that our message will move Stericycle's shareholders to take action to sever all ties with Planned Parenthood.

And if you have the means, please consider making a special gift to help cover the costs of this protest and the League's ongoing campaign to get Stericycle out of the abortion business.

You can make a secure, tax-deductible gift to the Pro-Life Action League by clicking on the image below.

Thank you for your prayers and support for this important protest, working to break one of the "weak links" of the abortion industry.

Note: Pro-life volunteers will be protesting outside the Stericycle shareholders meeting from 9 a.m. to noon, central time tomorrow. Prayers are especially appreciated during those hours.

Evangelicals Cheer Pro-Life Vote at Methodist Conference

Evangelicals Cheer Pro-Life Vote at Methodist Conference | Gleanings ...

Beth Ann Cook introduces a petition regarding the United Methodist Church's
association with the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice.

By Kate Shellnutt
Christianity Today

Update (May 21): In one of the last actions of its 10-day General Conference, United Methodist delegates voted 445 to 310 to repeal the denomination’s 40-year-old official resolution supporting Roe v. Wade.

Paired with the earlier vote to withdraw from the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC), the church took “two MAJOR steps in the right direction,” tweetedJohn Lomperis, the United Methodist director at the Institute on Religion and Democracy.

The Book of Resolutions statement in support of legal abortion was adopted in 1976. It reads, in part:

We believe that continuance of a pregnancy that endangers the life or health of the mother, or poses other serious problems concerning the life, health, or mental capability of the child to be, is not a moral necessity. In such cases, we believe the path of mature Christian judgment may indicate the advisability of abortion. We support the legal right to abortion as established by the 1973 Supreme Court decision.

“In our system, resolutions automatically expire after eight years unless a General Conference re-adopts them,” Lomperis told CT. “The New York national headquarters of United Methodist Women submitted a petition to this General Conference to not only re-adopt this resolution, but also to amend it to make it even more strongly supportive of abortion.”
The resolution was defeated 59 percent to 41 percent.

The quadrennial conference also saw some smaller pro-life victories. Lomperis blogged:

On pro-life issues, we … adopted a resolution decrying sex-selective abortion while describing abortion as “violent” and criticizing those done for “trivial reasons,” and allowed the expiration of a 16-year-old official UMC resolution bewailing an alleged “crisis” of some hospitals not offering abortions. While much work remains in more firmly establishing a clear pro-life commitment in our denomination, these were HUGE steps in the right direction.

Evangelicals celebrated the United Methodist Church’s decision yesterday to leave a pro-choice advocacy group it co-founded 43 years before.

The Left Has It Wrong When It Comes to Sex Ed

Jonathan Abbamonte
Crisis Magazine

For the past several decades, teen pregnancy in the United States has been on the decline. And since the early 1990s, the teen abortion rate has been in freefall. The reasons for this decline are multi-faceted, not the least of which includes the fact that more teens today are practicing abstinence than they were some twenty years ago.

But according to abortion advocates and the Left, teen abortion and pregnancy rates have fallen largely as a result of contraception. This comes as no surprise as a large part of the abortion industry’s business is largely dependent on making teens and young adults reliant on birth control.

A recent report released by the Guttmacher Institute, a research group that until recently was affiliated with the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, shows that, as of 2011, teen pregnancy was still on the decline. Additionally, a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released this past week found that the teen birth rate, as of 2014, has fallen to lowest level ever.
