FROM THE PASTOR'S CORNER - Christian Responsibility in the Upcoming Election

by Fr. George W. Rutler

Exactly eight years ago I wrote a column titled “The One We Were Waiting For” in which I referred to a book by Monsignor Robert Hugh Benson, The Lord of the World. That dystopian novel has been cited by Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis said he has read it several times. The protagonist, if one can apply that term to an Anti-Christ, imposed a new world religion with Man himself as god. His one foe was Christianity, which he thwarted in part by using “compromised Catholics and compliant priests to persuade timid Catholics.”

Since then, that program has been realized in our time, to an extent beyond the warnings of the most dire pessimists. Our federal government has intimidated religious orders and churches, challenging religious freedom. The institution of the family has been re-defined, and sexual identity has been Gnosticized to the point of mocking biology. Assisted suicide is spreading, abortions since 1973 have reached a total equal to the population of Italy, and sexually transmitted diseases are at a record high. Objective journalism has died, justice has been corrupted, racial bitterness ruins cities, entertainment is degraded, knowledge of the liberal arts spirals downwards, and authentically Catholic universities have all but vanished. A weak and confused foreign policy has encouraged aggressor nations and terrorism, while metastasized immigration is destroying remnant western cultures, and genocide is slaughtering Christian populations. The cynical promise of economic prosperity is mocked by the lowest rate of labor participation in forty years, an unprecedented number of people on food stamps and welfare assistance, and the largest disparity in wealth in over a century.

In his own grim days, Saint Augustine warned against nostalgia: “The past times that you think were good, are good because they are not yours here and now.” The present time, however, might try even his confidence. Sands blow over the ruins of churches he knew in North Africa where the Cross is virtually forbidden. By a blessed irony, a new church is opened every day in formerly Communist Russia, while churches in our own formerly Christian nation are being closed daily. For those who bought into the seductions of politicians’ false hopes, there is the counsel of Walt Kelly’s character Pogo: “It’s always darkest before it goes pitch black.”

It is incorrect to say that the coming election poses a choice between two evils. For ethical and aesthetic reasons, there may be some bad in certain candidates, but badness consists in doing bad things. Evil is different: it is the deliberate destruction of truth, virtue and holiness.

While one may pragmatically vote for a flawed candidate, one may not vote for anyone who advocates and enables unmitigatedly evil acts, and that includes abortion. “In the case of an intrinsically unjust law, such as a law permitting abortion or euthanasia, it is therefore never licit to obey it, or to 'take part in a propaganda campaign in favor of such a law, or vote for it'" (Evangelium Vitae, 73).

At one party’s convention, the name of God was excluded from its platform and a woman who boasted of having aborted her child was applauded. It is a grave sin, requiring sacramental confession and penance, to become an accomplice in objective evil by voting for anyone who encourages it, for that imperils the nation and destroys the soul.

It is also the duty of the clergy to make this clear and not to shrink, under the pretense of charity, from explaining the Church's censures. Wolves in sheep’s clothing are dangerous, but worse are wolves in shepherd’s clothing. While the evils foreseen eight years ago were realized, worse would come if those affronts to human dignity were endorsed again. In the most adverse prospect, God forbid, there might not be another free election, and soon Catholics would arrive at shuttered churches and vacant altars. The illusion of indifference cannot long be perpetuated by lame jokes and synthetic laughter at banquets, for there is handwriting on the wall.

Father Rutler has made documentary films in the United States and England, contributes to numerous scholarly and popular journals and has published 16 books on theology, history, cultural issues, and the lives of the saints, and also one book on sports, as a member of the U.S. Squash Racquets Association.

Theologian Michael Novak: For Catholics, Hillary Is Simply ‘Unvotable’

Gradually, “We started to divide values from life, values from law, through many small compromises. And Catholics have a great responsibility in this." Michael Novak

By Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D.
Breitbart News

Leading conservative intellectual Michael Novak has defined Hillary Clinton as “unvotable” for Catholics in the upcoming presidential elections because she and her party oppose everything that Catholics hold most dear.

In an interview with the Italian online journal Tempi on the so-called “Catholic vote” in the 2016 elections, Novak admits that Trump is not the candidate of his dreams, but given the options, he stands head and shoulders above his opponent.

“It is clear that Trump is not exactly the candidate by whom a Catholic would want to be represented. But in politics you elect a president, not a saint, or a bishop or the Pope,” said Novak, the author of the international bestseller The Spirit of Democratic Capitalism and a point of reference for many Catholic thinkers.
Along with other Catholic intellectuals, Novak considers Hillary to be simply unvotable.
“She’s a woman who has lied, violated national laws and anyone else would end up in prison for these things,” he said. “As for me, I cannot vote for a candidate so favorable to abortion, to the secularist agenda in the moral sphere and such a ferocious adversary of religious freedom.”

Help Wanted! Looking for Volunteers for the Final Days of the 40 Days for Life in Philly

from Dr. Monique Ruberu

40 Days for Life Co-ordinatior for Center City Philly

I can't believe we are in the last week of the 40 days vigil... We have been so blessed to witness lives saved, lives changed and to have had 100% coverage of every hour PP has been open. This time we have partnered with others in the city to support a new 40 days outreach at Comly rd PP which will continue... God willing in the next round we will start a 40 days at the other Abortion Giant in the city 777 Appletree near Chinatown.

Like little David's, if we allow ourselves to be filled with the Holy Spirit and ask The Lord alone to open the doors He wants us to walk through... No Giant will stand in our way... Love and peaceful prayer will change hearts and minds!!! God's will be done!

We are blessed to have Giants of our own in the pro life family... We were blessed to participate in His funeral mass this past Saturday... Joe Wall was an amazing man... Intelligent, kind hearted, well read, persevering, brave and most of all a defender of life! Great friend of John Stanton...He never feared for himself as he marched for life not only on our soil but in Europe as well...

When I entered into the pro life movement just a few years ago I heard a story about a man who showed up for a prayer vigil outside the Comly rd Pp... Nobody was there, so he decided to kneel down in the snow and pray a rosary... As he got up to leave a woman came running after him " Sir ... I just wanted to tell you... I saw you praying and realized that you love my baby more than I do...I want you to know I changed my mind!!" That man was Joe Wall... His quiet perseverance... Moved hearts and saved lives...

Last week on the day that he passed away... Another mom chose life for her child at Comly rd... I'm sure he was smiling down from heaven and cheering on the prayer warriors!!!

I'm hoping that he and John Stanton continue to pray for us and send us reinforcements to fill the hours left in the vigil and all the hours between vigils that these places are open.

Please help us fill the last 13 hours of this vigil and let me know if you are interested in being trained as a sidewalk counselor to continue coverage (with a small stipend) between the 40 days vigils

“Big Bang Theory” TV Show Acknowledges Life in the Womb: “There’s a Baby in There!”

By Justin Ashford and Alexa Moutevelis Coomb
Life News

Well, sometimes even Hollywood can get it right in a pro-abortion world. Thursday night’s episode of The Big Bang Theory acknowledges what should be obvious: being pregnant equals a baby.

“The Fetal Kick Catalyst,” opens with Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) sleeping together. Howard rests his hand on Bernadette’s pregnant stomach and wakes up with great joy as he feels their baby’s kick. “There’s a baby in there,” he finally realizes.

Howard: That’s a kick. That’s an actual kick.
Bernadette: What are you doing?
Howard: I felt a kick. There’s a baby in there.
Bernadette: Oh, yeah, that’s where I put it.
Howard: Oh, I mean, I know you’re pregnant. I just… Never connected the idea of pregnancy and you actually having a baby.
Bernadette: Which M.I.T. did you go to?
Sad to say this is what happens when a pro-abortion culture has turned a baby into no more than a choice, and abortion into no more than women’s health. When such distancing, euphemistic language is used to sanitize abortion it can be hard to “connect the idea of pregnancy with actually having a baby.” In fact, that’s intentional on the part of abortion activists.

After all, it was only a few months ago when NARAL objected to a Doritos ad that featured an ultrasound because it was “humanizing fetuses.” I can only imagine what they think of one of the biggest comedies in America “humanizing” a fetus by calling it a baby and showing it kick, especially when they’ve spent so much time defending late-term abortion after the last presidential debate. Pro-aborts have been so effective at dehumanizing human fetuses that it’s easy to forget we’re talking about living human beings.

So, hats off to CBS for showing that it’s not simply a fetus, but a person. Let’s hope more networks choose to show pro-life moments as heart-warming (and slightly humorous) as this one.

Planned Parenthood wins injunction against Indiana law protecting preborn babies from discrimination

By Josh Denton
Live Action News

On Tuesday, Planned Parenthood asked a judge to throw out an Indiana law that protects unborn babies from being aborted solely because of their sex, race, or a genetic disorder like Down syndrome.

Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky and the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit this spring challenging HB 1337, which was signed into law by Governor Mike Pence.

Life News reported:

Judge Tanya Walton Pratt of the U.S. Court for the Southern District of Indiana granted Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky’s request for an injunction against the measure, known as the Dignity for the Unborn Law, before it could take effect tomorrow.

The bill would have also have stipulated that the bodies of aborted babies be disposed of in a respectful fashion (such as cremation or proper burial) by the abortion facility. North Dakota was the first state to pass such a law in 2013.

Planned Parenthood does not object to abortion on the basis of the child’s sex or disability, and therefore, is encouraging the overturning of a law that respects the dignity of the preborn as human beings. In Live Action’s own investigations into sex-selective abortions in the United States, they found Planned Parenthood representatives more than willing to abort these children for discriminatory reasons — or any reason at all — in several states. Facebook Reverses Course After First Offering Absurd Reason to Reject CPC Ad

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life

Ok, I grant you there is no necessary linkage. But…
(1) Facebook’s cofounder has pledged to give $20 million “to political groups that support Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton,” according to the Washington Post.
(2) That, as of May, “Facebook employees as individuals have donated more than $114,000 to Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton this election cycle, by far the most of any presidential candidate,” the Hill newspaper reported.
(3) Facebook turned down an ad from a Crisis Pregnancy Center for reasons that no one over the age of 6 would believe are genuine.
Here’s the backdrop to a story reported by WBFF, Fox News 45 Baltimore.

Seems Birthright of Bel Air, a Harford County pregnancy aid center, wanted to do what many organizations routinely do : pay Facebook so its advertisement would reach a wider online audience.

But the word– the word which was delivered within 5 minutes of the request’s submission–was no.

What could possibly be offensive about an ad, which depicts a sonogram image of a baby superimposed on the stomach of a pregnant woman, under the caption, “Every life is a miracle. If you are pregnant and need help Birthright is here for you”?

That’s what the group’s outreach coordinator, identified only as Atha, wondered as well. “It was really rather odd since everything in the ad seemed very positive and encouraging,” she told Fox News.

Fr. Stephen Imbarrato: Protecting Life “Supersedes All Other Issues”

“Abortion is the pre-eminent and defining issue of our day and supersedes all other issues.”

By Calvin Freiburger
Live Action News

In a passionate homily shown worldwide on EWTN, Father Stephen Imbarrato of Priests for Life declared that “the issue of thousands of babies dying in our country every single day” is the “one issue that we need to get right” and that if we do, “all the other issues will start falling into place.”
“Over a hundred twenty thousand babies die from abortion each day worldwide,” he added. “This is such a river of blood, such an affront against God, the author of life, that there can really be no issue more important or demanding greater or immediate attention.”

Imbarrato rebuked those who attempt to downplay abortion as no more important than any other political or cultural issue. “As important as all the non-negotiables are, and they are non-negotiables, we now have seen others try to make the list include all issues. Otherwise known as this ‘consistent life ethic,’ the ‘seamless garment,’ so to speak,” he said. But while “we need to be mindful of the poor, and many other social issues,” the fact remains that “abortion is the pre-eminent and defining issue of our day and supersedes all other issues.”

“Really, how dare anyone say–I don’t care, laity, priest, bishop–that all issues are equal?” he challenged. “That we adhere to some consistent life ethic as a reason to regulate murder at the beginning and end of life is just another issue facing our society?”

Father Frank Pavone: Hillary Clinton is a “Proponent of a Tyrant State Authorizing the Killing of Babies”

By Fr. Frank Pavone
Live News

In the current election, the two major parties differ on abortion, as was clear from the discussion of the topic in the third presidential debate.

The Republican party platform says “the unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed.” The Democratic platform says that “we will continue to oppose – and seek to overturn – federal and state laws and policies that impede a woman’s access to abortion.”
In 1973, the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision permitted abortion throughout pregnancy, for any reason or no reason at all. Though weakened over these 43 years by subsequent jurisprudence, the decision still stands in its core holding: child killing is permitted.
This raises a fundamental political question: Does government have the authority to permit child-killing? And if it does permit it, what kind of a government does it become?
And though abortion is an issue in this year’s election, the question is not being adequately expressed or even grasped.

Many Democrats, while holding to Roe, will nevertheless try to argue that they want abortion to be rare and that they are working for policies to accomplish that. We should all be working, across partisan lines, to accomplish that.

But that dodges the core question. While boasting of efforts to reduce abortion, they still think it should be allowed.

Let me repeat the core question is: Does government have the authority to permit child-killing?
Look at it this way: What kind of government do we have? What kind of authority do the candidates think we are giving them if we elect them? Are we giving them power over life and death? Are they the arbiters of our rights, or rather the guardians of our rights?

This is no small question. If a candidate or a party believes that abortion can or should be legal, they believe in a different kind of government from what our Founding Fathers established. In the Founders’ views, expressed in the Declaration of Independence, government does not have authority over the right to life. The right is given by God, and “to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men.”

Either government can authorize the killing of a baby – in which case it is claiming no longer to be bound to secure the right to life – or it must protect a right that “cannot be infringed” because it was granted by the creator.

It's Dinner Time for Life

Since its inception in 1982, the annual Stand Up for Life Dinner has gathered pro-lifers old and young from infant to elderly to celebrate the accomplishment pro-lifers have achieved in the Greater Philadelphia Area.

The year the Pro-Life Union has invited Karen Gaffney, founder of the Gaffney Foundation, to be the guest speaker.

Gaffney was the first woman with down syndrome to swim across the English Channel in an open water competition during the Olympics which earned her a medal.

This selections comes at a great time since 9 out of 10 babies diagnosed with down syndrome do not come to full term. Gaffney is an inspiration to many people.

The dinner will be held on Sunday November 20th at Downtown Sheraton Hotel at 17th and Race Streets, across from the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul with free parking available at their lot.

To purchase your tix, sponsor an ad, or students, visit prolifeunion.org. Hurry before the tix are sold out. Deadline for patron and book ads is November 10th.

This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Pro Life Union.

Leaked Email: Hillary Clinton Will be More Pro-Abortion Than Obama, Will Force Christians to Fund Abortions

By Steven Ertelt

Life News

More emails released by WikiLeaks concerning the email account of Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta reveal that Hillary Clinton would be even more of an abortion advocate than President Barack Obama.

The new email released today has a top adviser to Hillary Clinton talking about her intimate discussions with top officials from the Planned Parenthood abortion businesses and its attempt to dismantle the Helms Amendment, which prohibits forcing taxpayers to fund abortions in other countries.

The email makes it clear that the Obama Administration was seeking to weaken the pro-life law to allow taxpayer funding of abortion in certain circumstances but was attempting to provide a very modest measure of protection for faith-based groups that did not want to be required to pay for abortions.

In the email from Jennifer Klein, a Georgetown law professor who currently advises Clinton, to Podesta, Klein makes it clear that providing conscience protections for faith-based groups is “a problem, as a matter of substance and also as a matter of politics” for Clinton.

The Clinton advisor makes it clear that Hillary Clinton opposes such a policy. In other words Hillary Clinton would favor dismantling the Helms Amendment and providing absolutely no protection for faith-based organizations or citizens who don’t want to be a party to paying for promoting a referring for abortions.

Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz Hiring Activists to “Stop Donald Trump” “Make $2,400 Before Election Day”

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

Planned Parenthood desperately wants pro-abortion Democrat Hillary Clinton to win the White House in November.

With just a few weeks left, the abortion chain’s political arm is advertising political activist jobs in New England states to help “Stop Trump.”

“We have less than two weeks until election day – large bonuses in the final stretch,” a Planned Parenthood Action ad read on Craigslist, “make over $2,400 before election day if you work all available shifts!”
LifeNews found two Planned Parenthood ads posted this week targeting Boston and New Hampshire audiences and offering up to $18 per hour to campaign for pro-abortion politicians.
An article in Rolling Stone earlier this month reported Planned Parenthood is putting together a $30 million army to storm the country for Clinton. Hundreds of paid staffers and thousands of volunteers are knocking on doors in swing states across the nation. In fact, the amount of paid staff for abortion giant is larger than the paid staff of Hillary Clinton’s campaign itself.
The future of Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion business, could depend heavily on who wins the upcoming presidential election. Clinton is Planned Parenthood’s “champion,” and its CEO Cecile Richards has been involved heavily in her campaign, traveling to dozens of states to stump for her.
Both pro-life and pro-abortion advocates know that the next president could heavily influence future U.S. Supreme Court decisions. The next president could have the opportunity to nominate up to four justices and sway its decisions on abortion and unborn babies’ rights for decades.

Clinton promised to nominate justices who will uphold Roe v. Wade and abortion on demand up until birth. Trump said he will appoint “pro-life justices” with a “conservative bent.”

Trump has made some troubling comments about Planned Parenthood in the past, but he has been fairly consistent lately about his support for defunding it and giving those tax dollars to community health centers that offer comprehensive health care.

In September, Trump released a letter outlining his specific pro-life policies. One of them is to defund the abortion chain as long as it keeps killing unborn children. Trump also called to make permanent the Hyde Amendment, which bans direct taxpayer funding for abortions in Medicaid.
Clinton, on the other hand, said she will work to repeal the Hyde Amendment and force taxpayers to fund abortions. If Clinton succeeds, the Guttmacher Institute estimates 33,000 more unborn babies will be killed in abortions every year with our tax dollars. And Planned Parenthood, which already receives huge amounts of our tax dollars for what it says are non-abortion services, could benefit greatly.

Dear Pro-Lifers: Be Not Afraid. . .Start Facebooking

By Steven W. Mosher, President
Population Research Institute

An unbiased American media would simply report, straight up, on the stark differences between the presidential candidates on the life issues. Instead, the major media devotes almost no time to the questions—abortion, population control, euthanasia—that we and other pro-life Americans hold dear.

When news anchors and political correspondents do mention these issues, they make little effort to hide their pro-abortion bias. It has been this way for a long time, to be sure, but has recently gotten worse—much worse. This is why at least 65 mainstream media reporters were—and probably are—working closely with the campaign whose position on abortion and other social issues they agree with. (You get three guesses as to which campaign that is.)

So my advice to you is to banish ABC, CBS, and NBC from your living room. While you’re at it, stop watching the pro-abortion zealots at CNN, Bloomberg, and MSNBC as well.

In fact, with the exception of EWTN, CBN, and a few shows on FOX, you can probably turn off the television altogether, at least as far as the life issues are concerned.

Then turn on your computer and your smart phone …

You see, in the past, we pro-lifers have been largely powerless to challenge the anti-life narrative. Most of us have contented ourselves with complaining about the biased media to a few like-minded friends, since we were unable to reach a larger audience with our pro-life views.

That has now changed, and changed dramatically, thanks to Facebook, e-mail, texting and tweeting.

The fact is, nearly all of us now run our own small “media network.” By means of Facebook, e-mail, etc., etc., nearly all of us have ways of easily reaching hundreds, if not thousands, of people with our pro-life views—and the views of the presidential candidates.

So turn on your computer and your smart phone. Your job is to Facebook, e-mail, tweet, text — however you communicate with your friends — the following information, so they can make an informed choice come election day.

Ask them the following questions:
  • Did you know Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine want to force you to pay for abortions with your tax dollars? They have pledged to repeal the Hyde Amendment, which would mean taxpayer-funded abortion on demand. (More than two million people are alive today because of the Hyde Amendment.)
  • Did you know that Donald Trump and Mike Pence oppose using your tax dollars to pay for abortion, and they oppose abortion on demand?
  • Did you know that Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine support abortion on demand, even late in pregnancy, while Donald Trump has called late-term abortions “unacceptable”?
  • Did you know Hillary Clinton has pledged to appoint only pro-abortion justices to the U.S. Supreme Court, while Donald Trump has pledged to appoint only pro-life U.S. Supreme Court Justices? As the Court goes, so goes the lives of millions of unborn children for generations to come.
Remember: the mainstream media will never illuminate these differences for the voting public; it is too busy breathlessly reporting on the latest (fabricated) polls or the latest (distracting) allegations.

So turn on your computers and your smart phones. Time is short. Let’s get to work.

Planned Parenthood's Legal Fight To Kill Babies With Down Syndrome

by Amanda Prestigiacomo
The Daily Wire

As insufferable feminists, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and Hollywood continue to deceitfully prop up Planned Parenthood as some moral paragon under the guise of women's "health," the abortion mill is literally pursuing a legal battle for the "right" to kill unborn babies with Down Syndrome.

Planned Parenthood has teamed up with the American Civil Liberties Union to try to have an Indiana law signed by Governor Mike Pence, which prohibits abortion for reasons of race, sex or genetic defect such as Down Syndrome, thrown out.

The lawsuit challenging the Indiana law, which was filed in the spring, is being heard by pro-abortion Obama-appointee Judge Tanya Walton Pratt. In July, Pratt granted the abortion mill's request and blocked the law from being enforced. On Tuesday, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU asked the federal judge to throw out the law entirely, as they claimed the legislation placed and unconstitutional "burden" on a woman's access to kill her unborn baby.

10 More Babies Saved! 1500 Babies Save so far Through Sidewalk Advocates for Life

Lauren Muzyka, Executive Director
Sidewalk Advocates for Life

We pray. We work hard. We persevere. And one day, the Lord shows us exactly how our sacrifices have paid off!

Recently, one of our national team members opened her inbox one morning to a message from one of our Sidewalk Advocates for Life locations in Alabama... and found a beautiful picture collage of 10 precious babies saved from abortion through the power of God's love and peaceful outreach on the sidewalk!

When we look at the beautiful faces of these precious children — just 10 of the 1,500 babies saved thus far in this ministry — one thing is clear: Something here is working, it's saving lives, and we have to ensure that this work continues well into the future!

Sidewalk Advocates for Life takes a peaceful, prayerful, law-abiding approach to reaching out to those servicing the abortion center. We seek to be the hands & feet of Christ and to ‘stand in the gap’ for those who, ironically, may feel they have no choice. While we provide crisis intervention on the sidewalk to women in unplanned pregnancies headed into the abortion center, we recognize that our outreach can only go so far: we must offer her real, ongoing help or crisis management. Our interaction never ends without offering her life-affirming alternatives such as help from the local pregnancy resource center(s) and other organizations in her local community.

Down Syndrome Awareness -- My Greatest Assignment!

By Kurt Kondrich
Renew America

October is Down syndrome Awareness month, and I wanted to share where a Down syndrome diagnosis for my beautiful daughter Chloe has led me the past 13 years. As a kid growing up I always loved watching Superman and Batman, and I wanted one day to go out and battle evil while defending and guarding innocent people. My childhood dreams led me to a career in Law Enforcement where I served as a Police Officer for 20 years protecting the community and making sure those who committed malice were brought to justice. A plaque hung above the wall of the Police Academy I attended as a young recruit which read "You can talk about what's wrong with the world or you can do something about it." That motto has stuck in my heart, and I seek to apply it in my life's work.

In 2003 I was working as a beat cop and my wife was pregnant with our second child, a daughter we had prenatally named Chloe. My wife and I were older parents and during the pregnancy we were many times asked if we wanted prenatal tests done because we were at high "risk" for having a child with Down syndrome. We declined all these tests and were very excited about Chloe joining our family. After much pressuring I inquired what we could do if the test came back positive for Down syndrome, and to my horror I was told we could decide whether we wanted to "keep" Chloe. This information about my daughter was relayed to me in a clinical coldness that even shocked me as a seasoned Cop. We firmly declined all tests and shortly after Chloe's birth we learned that she had Down syndrome. Chloe was and still is the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on, and when I first held her I was haunted by the termination option we received during the pregnancy.

Kurt Kondrich is  the father of a beautiful daughter Chloe who was born with Down syndrome, and she is a priceless Blessing to our family and community.

When I became aware of the 90+% abortion rate for children diagnosed with Down syndrome in the womb, I embarked on a mission to be a loud Voice for children like Chloe and make sure people see ABILITIES and what a precious gift these individuals are.

I speak frequently to policymakers, community groups, students and church leaders about the silent prenatal eugenic movement against children diagnosed prenatally with Down syndrome, and I am passionate about spreading the Truth in a culture that has embraced death, deception and depravity. Jesus Christ is my Savior and Role Model, and I feel very blessed that He uses me as His instrument to defend the most vulnerable members of our society. Never underestimate the power of one small Voice, and "God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called."

As prenatal genetic testing rapidly advances I challenge people to ask the question "Who will be next to be identified, targeted and eliminated because they don't meet the lost cultural mandates for misguided perfection?" Please take time to read my stories, and I would love your feedback.

The Clinton Abortion Legacy

from Martin Fox, President
National Pro-Life Alliance

Not all milestones are cause for celebration.

16 years ago, the Clinton Administration rammed through approval of the abortion pill RU-486.

Since then, 23% of all abortions in the U.S. have been chemical abortions by RU-486 at just over 240,000 per year.

Chemically killing babies has been a boon to the abortion industry, because it helps abortion seem like an even easier, less consequential way to end a pregnancy.

Just pop a pill and forget your troubles, the sales pitch goes.

But the fact is, RU-486 is a harsh two-part cocktail of drugs.
The first pill, mifepristone, is taken right away.

The second pill, misoprostol, is taken two days later, leaving the woman to deliver her aborted baby in her own home.
Taken together these meds have killed more than 2 million babies and been the catalyst for over 1,100 women to be rushed to emergency rooms with deadly complications from at-home abortions.

But the hard truth is that RU-486 only begins brand-new troubles.

Though taking a pill sounds less menacing than invading the womb with sharp instruments, the end result is the same: a dead baby.

And as you know, it’s never been as safe for women as advertised, either.

Nonetheless, pro-abortion forces on Capitol Hill rushed RU-486 through the testing and approval process in a desire to bring it to market.

So until we are able to ban RU-486 we can only grieve the innocent and defenseless lives that have been taken.

Keep up the fight we must.

The National Pro-Life Alliance occupies a unique and important role in the pro-life movement. The focus of many other pro-life organizations is research, publications or counseling. These are all important and worthy activities, but the National Pro-Life Alliance is singular in its focus on passing pro-life legislation that will protect the unborn from the moment of conception onward.

Senator Pat Toomey Defends the Sanctity of Life

Marjorie Dannenfelser, President
Susan B. Anthony List

Earlier this week, Senator Pat Toomey and his opponent, Katie McGinty participated in the last debate before the election, to be held on November 8th.

The candidates were asked about their stance on abortion, in particular, regarding the Pennsylvania House approving a bill to ban abortions after twenty weeks of pregnancy.

Senator Toomey eloquently delivered this statement:
“This is a tough issue…the reason it’s tough is because it pits two competing values. On one hand, there’s the value of personal autonomy…on the other hand, there’s the importance of the sanctity of human life. Now, when those two clash, for me, I come down on the side of life. And so, I am pro-life.”
In addition to stating his position on this crucial issue, he also pointed out his opponent’s extreme, pro-abortion stance:
“There’s no point at which an abortion in unacceptable to her.”
In fact, Katie McGinty is endorsed by EMILY’s List, a radical, pro-abortion organization that opposes even the most modest pro-life initiatives. Katie McGinty will answer to the abortion lobby, not to the people of Pennsylvania.

Katie McGinty is even in favor of repealing the Hyde Amendment, a bipartisan amendment that restricts taxpayer dollars from funding abortions. On this specific issue, Senator Toomey said the following:
“We’ve agreed for decades that we don’t use taxpayer money for those abortions.”
We encourage you to watch this video highlighting the segment of the debate in which the life issue was discussed.

Election Day is less than two weeks away. A pro-life majority in the Senate hangs in the balance, and we hope that pro-life Senator Pat Toomey will earn your vote on November 8th.

Sex Trafficking Victims: Planned Parenthood “Didn’t Ask Questions”

by Nancy Flanders
Live Action News

There are more people living in slavery today than at any other point in the history of mankind. In the United States alone, 400,000 are enslaved, but the people and organizations with the ability to save these individuals choose not to. Instead, they choose to turn a blind eye so they can collect money for forced abortions.

According to UNICEF, about 1.2 million children are being trafficked each year for sexual exploitation. They are sex slaves, forced to commit sexual acts while living in constant fear for their lives. They are raped, beaten, sliced with razors, and threatened with death. And now a study has shown that when these girls become pregnant, they are forced into abortions, repeatedly.

The Health Consequences of Sex Trafficking and Their Implications for Identifying Victims in Healthcare Facilities study found that of the 66 sex trafficking victims they learned about, 55% had undergone at least one abortion. More than 30% had multiple abortions.

Martin Luther King Jr’s Niece Alveda King: Christians Have a Responsibility to Vote Pro-Life

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

Martin Luther King Jr’s niece Alveda King says Christians have a responsibility to vote pro-life when they head to the polls this election.

“As you know, it’s so important that we always embrace the sanctity of life. One way to do that is to vote Prolife in every election,” King says.

“Now, as Christians, we are blessed with the responsibility of educating our communities regarding the importance of voting for the sanctity of life in the upcoming elections, and indeed all elections. This responsibility isn’t just for now; this voter education effort should be an ongoing outreach for people of faith! We must continually work to obtain and preserve the right to vote and future votes of babies in the womb, their parents, the sick, the elderly, the poor, all Americans,” she continued.
King is encouraging pro-life Christians to encourage their friends and family who appreciate the value of life to get out and vote.

“Again, thank you for your prolife vote as well as your work of motivating members of the faith community to vote for life,” she says.

“As Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn for Priests for Life, I encourage you to visit our www.politicalresponsibility.com page to review the platforms of the candidates in the upcoming elections.

Also, please join us in praying our “Election prayer for Life,” King continued. “As we pray, let’s remember that this is such an important era in the history of America. We have fought and won many battles. Too many of our young people don’t know our history; many of us have forgotten. All lives hang in the balance.”
“Civil rights. Human rights. It all goes together,” King said.
