Planned Parenthood Democrats Target Pro-life Champion Ken Cuccinelli
Ken Cuccinelli
by Ben Johnson
RICHMOND, VA, February 14, 2013,Emboldened by leading a successful campaign to demonize Mitt Romney
in the 2012 presidential campaign, Planned Parenthood has chosen its
next political target: Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.
Cuccinelli, an unwavering foe of the abortion-provider's agenda, is running for the Republican nomination for governor.
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund and Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC
teamed up with his likely Democratic foe, Terry McAuliffe, to launch the
new attack website, Keep Ken Out.
Cuccinelli has earned their ire, voting to overturn then-Democratic
Governor Mark Warner's veto of the partial birth abortion ban, drafting
the state's parental consent law, leading efforts to defund Planned
Parenthood, and insisting the state's abortion facilities meet the same
health standards as other surgical centers.
A notification at the bottom of the anti-Cuccinelli website acknowledges it is “Authorized by Terry McAuliffe for Governor, candidate for Governor.”
“Of course, it should come as no surprise that Planned Parenthood would
coordinate with a liberal Democrat campaign,” said Victoria Cobb,
president of The Family Foundation,
based in Virginia. “Its political entities have spent tens of millions
of dollars on partisan activities while whining consistently that it
doesn’t have enough money to bring its abortion centers up to basic
health and safety standards. It is, however, committed to forcing you,
the taxpayer, to fund its operations to the tune of more than half a
billion dollars annually.”
