Two Crisis Preganacy Homes In SE PA to Celebrate 45 Years of Combined Service to Women and Children

With the start of the Abortion holocaust in America, there arose the need to provide alternatives to women who chose to give the gift of life to their children, rather than killing them by abortion.  Because of this choice, many were deserted by their families and friends, and desperately in need of care and housing.  At first, those needs were accommodated by pro-life people who generously opened their own homes to those women.
As the number of women in this situation increased, pro-life groups began to establish residences, referred to as “Crisis Pregnancy Homes,” capable of accommodating the greater need. These homes are totally supported by the sacrifices of caring pro-life people. Our Lady’s House and Guiding Star Ministries are two of the residences.

Our Lady’s House opened their doors in November of 1987 in Glenside, PA on a property that was donated by Pat and Wendy Stanton.  Our Lady’s House mission is to provide for single mothers aged 18 years and their minor children who wished to re-order their lives in a peaceful environment.

Guiding Star Ministries opened on August 31, 1992 in the former rectory of St. Benedict’s Church in the West Old Lane section of Philadelphia, PA.  The mission for these women is to establish a long-term program that would not only provide living arrangements to pregnant women and their children, but would also be directed at encouraging their spiritual and economic development.

Together, they have operated for 45 years and have served over 290 women and 301 children!

On April 25th they will be having a banquet to celebrate.  Anyone who would like to purchase an ad can send their ‘camera ready’ ad to Our Lady’s House, P.O. Box 201, Jenkintown, PA 19046 or via e-mail to media@prolifeunion.org. To purchase tickets for this event, contact Voices for the Unborn at pdowling1947@gmail.com.

All donations will go directly to help both of these homes!
