Science & Medical Ethics Issues Facing Catholics and All People of Faith Today 

The Family Life Center for Men and Women at the Malvern Retreat House in Malvern, PA is hosting a retreat to address current science and medical ethics issues.

This retreat focuses on issues currently in the news regarding our Catholic Faith and Healthcare developments facing us today:  

• Law, Science, and the Roman Catholic Church--the HHS Mandate (Health and Human Services Mandate), what the First Amendment really says (and means), and the true meaning of religious freedom. Speakers: Larry Cirignano, founder of CatholicVote; and Ted Meehan, Director of the Pennsylvania Catholics Network. 

 

• End of Life Issues for Your Mom, Dad, and Family: Living Will v. Durable Power of Attorney, Medicare/Medicaid Costs, Health Care v. Insurance and the impact of new insurance regulations. Speaker: Bobby Schindler, brother of Terri Schiavo and President of the Life and Hope Foundation.

 

• Medical Ethics Issues and New Scientific Technology, which mixes life and science: Gene Splicing, DNA technology, and other medical issues. Speaker: Brian Gail, author of Fatherless; Motherless; and ChiIdless.
