On Tuesday, June 24, please join our Call-In Campaign to Stop A2270, the NJ Assisted Suicide Bill! You can do this by going to the "Take Action" section on this page and following the instructions. Take action here! | |
On Tuesday, June 24, Please call Speaker Prieto. Tell him NOT to post A2270, the Assisted Suicide Bill for a vote. Then call your 2 Assembly Members and tell them to Vote No on A2270 if it comes up for a vote! There are only two more voting sessions in June after the 24th so we must act immediately to stop this bill.
Last Monday, June 16, the Assembly sponsor took the unusual step of adding new amendments to A2270 during an Assembly Voting session, which was 11 days after the Assembly Health and Senior Services Committee voted the bill out of committee.
We believe these amendments were added to try to relieve the concerns of many legislators who expressed opposition to the bill so that they can try to get it passed by the end of June. We must act now to let our two Assembly members know that it must be opposed.
So on Tuesday, June 24, please join with us to flood the offices of the Speaker and our Assembly members! Please share with friends and family who oppose this bill. Please feel free to use the talking points provided in this alert.
Please Note: After providing your zip code, a screen will come up with talking points. You will see Speaker Prieto's phone # on the top of the page. After calling Assembly Speaker Prieto, scroll down the page to provide your name and feedback information on the call, then click the "submit" tab. This will bring you to the name and phone # of your 1st Assembly Member which will then appear on the talking points page. You will need to do this once more to get the name and phone # of the 2nd Assembly Member.
