Colorado Lawmakers Vote Against Bill that Would Protect Infants Born Alive During Abortion, Despite Appeals

“How can we ignore the humanity of newborns that the abortion lobby wants dead or not alive, no matter the circumstances,” said AUL’s Dr. Charmaine Yoest.

Astonishingly, the most basic of pro-life measures failed last week, as abortion advocates in the Colorado House Public Health Care & Human Services Committee actually voted against a measure that would give life-continuing care to an infant born during an abortion. Americans United for Life President and CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest was in Denver on Tuesday, both testifying before the committee and advocating for women and children born and unborn.

“This is not over,” said Dr. Yoest. “Babies born under difficult and even dangerous circumstances deserve the respect and care due all people. Americans United for Life Action will be back, asking Colorado legislators to support humane treatment of newly born infants who do not deserve abandonment and death.” Click here to read her testimony.
