Another sad but true story. New York City’s trendy Fashion Week starts on Thursday, February 9th, and of course Planned Parenthood will be rearing its ugly head since it will have an audience full of its fawning admirers. The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) is showing solidarity with Planned Parenthood by a specially designed pin that will be distributed to guests, as well as worn by designers and runway models. This initiative is being supported by at least 40 designer members (listed below). The pin itself was designed by the Creative Group at Conde Nast who is the publisher of Vogue, Elle, Glamour, Golf Digest, Vanity Fair and other popular magazines. This might be a good time to cancel your subscriptions!The pin will have a card attached with information on donating and supporting Planned Parenthood. “We know that so many people stand with Planned Parenthood—including designers and entertainers. They and their loved ones have relied on Planned Parenthood for health care, including life-saving care like cancer screenings, birth control, STI testing and treatment, and sex education", said Tracey Reese, the designer who spearheaded the campaign.
As usual, Cecile Richards didn’t miss an opportunity to push her agenda: “We are truly thrilled by the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s show of support for Planned Parenthood at New York Fashion Week,” said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. “Planned Parenthood has stood defiantly in the face of opposition for a century, and we’re not backing down now. The American people overwhelmingly support our organization and strongly oppose ‘defunding’ care at our health centers. Planned Parenthood’s millions of supporters, including the CFDA, are mobilizing to protect access to reproductive health and rights for everyone, including the 2.5 million patients we serve, and we will continue to fight to ensure that all people can get the care they need.”

I don't recognize many of these designers. I did find that our local Bon Ton is now carrying Ivanka Trump's line of clothing. And surprisingly, the prices are comparable to other clothing sold in the store. Not sure if she shares her father's views on abortion or Planned Parenthood, but since she is being black-balled by certain stores (all of whom support PP), because of her father, I think we should support her, at least until we know her views on abortion.
