40 DAYS FOR LIFE – SEPTEMBER 27 THRU NOVEMBER 5 – NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA*

The days are getting shorter and the children are back to school!  Fall is here – although we still are not experiencing those crisp autumn breezes here in Philadelphia!  However, with the change of season comes another 40 Days for Life campaign.  This campaign begins September 27th and runs through November 5th.

If you have participated in previous 40 Days for Life campaigns you are aware of how important our prayers and support are to the babies and their parents who are considering abortion.  Prayers also are offered for abortion clinic workers that they may turn away from the tragedy of abortion, and for those who carry the pain of past abortions. This is not a protest but a 40-day commitment to a peaceful and prayerful public witness outside a local abortion clinic.

If you are not familiar with the 40 Days organization, please take some time to visit their website.  It is full of information and inspiring stories of how hearts can be changed through prayer and fasting.  Campaigns are held throughout many cities in the U.S. and globally.  You can select your local 40 Days vigil site on the website and schedule time to pray or speak to your Respect for Life representative at your church to see if your congregation is planning a day to pray together. Our public witness is not just for those entering an abortion clinic but for drivers and passersby who may be spurred to consider the consequences of abortion by seeing our physical presence there.

The Northeast Philadelphia vigil site is located outside the Planned Parenthood at 2751 Comly Road (at Roosevelt Boulevard).  A kick-off rally with guest speakers is scheduled on September 19th at 7:30PM at St. Katherine of Siena church, 9700 Frankford Avenue.  All are welcome to attend!  Sign-up sheets also will be available.

Please give prayerful consideration to this mission and join us as we support the value of LIFE!

*There are three campaigns scheduled in Philadelphia (two in Center City and one in Northeast Philadelphia) and 10 additional campaigns throughout Pennsylvania: Allentown, Bethlehem, Bryn Mawr, Chester County, Harrisburg, Norristown, Pittsburgh, Reading, Warminster and York.
