40 Days for Life Day 28: Pouring Rain.....Saved Babies

40 Days for Life

Praying in front of abortion referral facilities is so important…it gives a woman
an opportunity to think before she shows up for her abortion appointment.

40 Days for Life Campaign Director, Steve Karlen recently visited the vigil at the Planned Parenthood referral site in Lewisville, Texas.
“Ann estimates 40-50 volunteers have joined the vigil so far,” Steve said. “But with numerous volunteers making heroic sacrifices to pray multiple hours each day, they’ve only missed filling a single vigil hour so far. Furthermore, those heroic sacrifices have saved a baby from abortion!"

“I’ve decided I’m gonna keep it,” the mom said. When asked what changed her mind, she said, “I just feel like it’s a decision I would regret for the rest of my life.”

During the last month, more than a dozen inches of rain fell on Lewisville! While Steve encouraged volunteers, a car deliberately steered into a puddle–soaking Steve and many of the volunteers.

But nobody seemed to mind. It was just one more sacrifice happily offered for love of God and neighbor.

Mankato, Minnesota
Before applying to lead this 40 Days for Life campaign at Mankato’s Planned Parenthood referral center, Mary called Steve to share some concerns.
Members of her leadership team were not available to help her this time around, and she was nervous.

“There’s no pressure from us. You need to pray about whether you’re able to move forward,” Steve told her. “But sometimes, those moments when we’re tempted to throw in the towel come right before our greatest victories.”

Mary stepped forward in faith to lead once again. That decision paid off when a grandfather brought his pregnant granddaughter to Planned Parenthood, worried about what she’d decide.

After vigil participants prayed with the man, his granddaughter chose life!
She said, “It’s too much of a miracle that we’re even pregnant.” The boyfriend wasn’t expected to be able to have children, so they concluded the pregnancy is a gift from God and decided not to abort.
Antelope Valley, California
As Julio’s prayer shift at the Planned Parenthood referral site in Antelope Valley wound down, a young woman ran toward him and pointed at her womb.“She wanted all of us to know that our prayers make a difference,” Julio said.
“Her baby is going to be born alive due to the power of prayer and love!”

The mom–now in her ninth month of pregnancy–plans to name her little boy “Grayson.”

“Praise God!” Julio said. “We had our first confirmed saved baby.
