New Jersey Assembly Roll Call Vote on AR181/SR96 - Follow Up Action Needed

from Marie Tasy, Executive Director
New Jersey Right to Life

On Thursday, September 27, both houses of the NJ Legislature were scheduled to vote on AR181/SR96, a resolution that Memorializes the President and Congress to eliminate existing restrictions on abortion access and reject Supreme Court nominees who would impose new limits on reproductive freedom.

The Assembly did vote on the Resolution, however, the NJ Senate did not. We do not know if the NJ Senate may take it up at a later date.

This resolution by the NJ Legislature has no effect in law and does not require the Governor's signature. However, it is political grandstanding at its worst and displays a blatant abuse of power by the NJ Democratic party who now controls all three branches of NJ Government.

AR181 did not pass by a huge margin which is a testament to your phone calls and emails. There were 47 Yes Votes, 15 No Votes, and 18 either did not vote or abstained.

It's very important that our legislators who vote to protect the lives of mothers and babies from abortion extremism hear from us. It is also important that those who vote to promote abortion extremism hear from us as well.

If your Assembly Members Voted No (This is considered a Pro-Life Vote), please thank them for voting to protect the lives of mothers and babies and against abortion extremism.

If your Assembly Members Voted Yes (This is considered a Radical Pro-Abortion Vote), please express your disappointment and outrage and inform them that you will take their vote into consideration when they are up for re-election next November.

If your Assembly Members Abstained or Did Not Vote, tell them you are happy they did not Vote for the Resolution, but ask them why they did not vote No.

Remember to find out how both your Assembly Members voted.
