HAVE YOU EVER SEEN BABIES SMILE

WHILE SLEEPING IN THEIR BEDS

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY THEY SMILE

WHAT DREAMS ARE IN THEIR HEADS

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD BABIES LAUGH

WHEN NOTHING'S GOING ON

HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY THEY LAUGH

A SOUND AS SWEET AS A SONG

IT'S REALLY SIMPLE WHY THEY LAUGH

IT'S SIMPLE WHY THEY SMILE

FOR THEY ARE SEEING JESUS

FOR JUST A LITTLE WHILE

YOU SEE, THEY ONCE WERE SPIRITS

IN HEAVEN WITH THE KING

AND THEY ARE STILL IN TOUCH WITH HIM

AND THEY TELL HIM EVERYTHING

HE UNDERSTANDS THEIR LANGUAGE

THEIR LITTLE GURGLING NOISE

HE KNOWS THE NAMES OF EACH OF THEM

THESE PRECIOUS GIRLS AND BOYS

SO NEXT TIME WHILE YOU'RE WATCHING

YOUR LITTLE ONES IN SLUMBER

REMEMBER, CHRIST IS THERE WITH THEM

NO MATTER HOW LARGE THEIR NUMBER

Judy Alciatore is a life-long cradle Catholic. She joined 40 Days for Life while living in Iowa; and also joined the local RTL group there.
