Press Secretary says restoration of pro-life Mexico City Policy further illustrates “not just to the folks here in this country but around the world, what a value we place on life”

The question asked of Sean Spicer today at the daily press briefing was one that never, ever could have been asked either of pro-abortion President Barack Obama or his would-be pro-abortion successor, Hillary Clinton:
“Of all the actions that the President could have taken today, he chose to reinstate the Mexico City Policy. What message is he sending here? Does he see the elimination, reduction of abortions as an American value?”
Wow!

Before I quote the answer from Mr. Spicer, the White House Press Secretary, let me just mention that we have posted a discussion elsewhere of pro-life President Donald Trump’s decision to restore the “Mexico City Policy.”

In a sentence, under that policy, in order to be eligible for certain types of foreign aid, a private organization must sign a contract promising not to perform abortions (except to save the mother’s life or in cases of rape or incest), not to lobby to change the abortion laws of host countries, or otherwise “actively promote abortion as a method of family planning.”

Here’s the very, very encouraging response from Sean Spicer to the question of whether the President sees the reduction of abortion “as an American value”:
“The president has made it very clear that he is a pro-life president. He wants to stand up for all Americans, including the unborn, and I think the reinstatement of this policy is not just something that echoes that value but respects taxpayer funding as well and ensures that we’re standing up not just up for life, the life of the unborn, for also for taxpayer funds that are being spent overseas to perform an action that is contrary to the values of this president and I think continue to further illustrate, not just to the folks here in this country but around the world, what a value we place on life.”
