HHS Mandate Call to Action Alert!

from Barbara Rose, NP CFCP
on behalf of the

FertilityCare Professionals of Philadelphia

Please take a moment of your time to register your support for a recent action by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) which provided religious and moral exemptions to the Obamacare Contraceptive Mandate. HHS has called for the public to submit comments by 11:59 PM EST on December 5. Over 10,000 comments opposing this return to common sense have already been submitted by the public. It is critical our voices are heard too. Please take action now.

On October 6, 2017, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued two interim final rules that, together, create a broad religious and moral exemption from the HHS contraceptive Mandate. Although this action does not rescind the Mandate itself, it does give religious and moral objectors immediate relief from its onerous burdens. HHS has called for public comments about this policy change, and we urge you to offer comments in support of the exemptions before the public comment period ends on December 5.

The USCCB has submitted comments that you can download here. Please add your voice to theirs and let the Trump Administration know that although we still urge the Administration to reconsider and rescind the Mandate, as long as the Mandate is in place these broader exemptions are laudable and mark a return to common sense. Click here to learn more and to send your comments.

We are grateful for your assistance in protecting life and liberty of conscience in law. Consider sharing this campaign on your social media accounts.

UN Human Rights Committee Pushes Abortion as a “Preventative Measure” to ”Avoid” Down Syndrome

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

As if aborting approximately 90 percent of unborn babies with Down syndrome is not enough, some United Nations leaders want more.

Earlier this month, UN Human Rights Committee member Yadh Ben Achour argued that the group should continue supporting abortion as a “preventive measure” against babies with disabilities, Breitbart reports.
“If you tell a woman, ‘Your child has Dow…’ — what is it called? Down syndrome, Dawn syndrome — if you tell her that, or that he may have a handicap forever … it should be possible for her to resort to abortion to avoid the handicap as a preventive measure,” Ben Achour said (translated from French).
The Tunisian lawyer said he is an “ardent defender of the handicapped,” but he sees no problem with babies with disabilities being aborted as long as they are in the womb.
“[This] doesn’t mean that we are against the disabled or that we won’t help the disabled when born disabled,” Ben Achour said. “But that does not mean that we have to accept to let a disabled fetus live. This is a preventive measure.”
Birth is the line Ben Achour drew to determine a baby’s worth. He argued that society only has an obligation to help people with disabilities who are already born.
“So this is where we will find the difference between the birth of the human being. Once he is born, it is finished; with a handicap or without a handicap, he must live and we must protect absolutely, in an absolute manner, his right to life,” he said.
“So us, we defend the right of the handicapped, but, but we can avoid the handicaps, and we must do everything we can to avoid them,” Ben Achour continued. “And it is not contradictory.”
Studies indicate that unborn babies with Down syndrome already are targeted for abortions at very high rates. A CBS News report earlier this year shocked the nation by reporting that Iceland has an almost 100-percent abortion rate for unborn babies with the genetic disorder. Other studies put the rate in the United States somewhere between 60 percent and 90 percent.

Parents whose unborn babies have Down syndrome or other disabilities also frequently report feeling pressure to have abortions. In 2016, a Florida mom’s letter to her doctor went viral after she exposed how the doctor pressured her to abort her unborn daughter with Down syndrome. Courtney Baker said she wanted her former doctor to see how valuable her daughter’s life is and how wrong it is to pressure anyone to have an abortion.

Pro-Life Waco Action Request: Complain to builder about fence to shield baby killing in Waco

from John Pisciotta, Director
Pro-Life Waco

ACTION REQUEST: Complain to builder about fence to shield baby killing in Waco

An action request for you, Whether you live in Waco or Warsaw.

A 10-foot high fence is just what Planned Parenthood needs in Waco for their 9,000 sf building designed to boost PP’s 300,000 yearly abortions nationwide. As you can see from these photos, All About Roofing started the project today. PP’s purpose is to try to block out our prayer and sidewalk counseling outreach to their deceived customers.

I appeal to you to contact and complain to this company erecting the fence at the most deadly and treacherous address in Waco: 700 W. HWY 6. Write, call, send email or, better yet, do all three:

All About Roofing
2513 Weaver St., Suite B, Haltom City, TX 76117.
817-915-1738

Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas is so radioactive they could not get a fencing company in Waco to take their blood money. In fact, Planned Parenthood cannot even get a fencing company at all and ended up with a roofer! Not a roofer from Waco. No, PPGT had to go 93 miles north of Waco to find folks who would tarnish their souls. We may not be able to stop construction. However, from Waco and worldwide, we need to send the message that anyone profiting from the shedding of innocent preborn blood will be challenged in the public square. I will have signage to call out the company by name for contracting with Planned Parenthood. We are called to action. Perhaps you live near Haltom City, Texas and can drop by to talk personally to company officials.

A final note of lamentation. Wed Nov 29, Thurs Nov 30, and Friday Dec 1 are the first days for the slaughter of the innocents at 700 W. HWY. Could you come out an pray in solidarity with those suffering this enormous injustice on at least one hour on at least one of these days. There is a 6-foot high side walk for your standing, sitting, and praying. And at least for this week, you will not be blocked off by a fence.

The Spirit of Adoption Welcoming Children Is at the Heart of the Gospel

by John Stonestreet & G. Shane Morris
BreakPoint

Choosing love may make it easier for someone to choose life. And yet, there’s a whole lot more to adoption than that.

It’s a beautiful story, and trust me on this: Grab your tissues before watching this video I’m about to describe to you. Miranda and Daniel Perry, already parents of a six-year-old girl, wanted to adopt another child. They were matched with a pregnant mother in Texas, and prepared to welcome their new son. But this Christian couple’s hopes were dashed when the little boy’s mother changed her mind, and decided to keep him.

That’s when the Perry family learned of an expecting mother who had attempted a medicinal abortion that failed. After speaking with her doctor, the woman decided not to go through with a surgical abortion but instead to put her little girl up for adoption. I won’t spoil the ending for you, but there was yet another twist in store for the Perry family before they could welcome little Lydia into their home.

Join Us for our Annual 'Peace in the Womb' Christmas Caroling Event in Warminster, Pa.

"Peace in the Womb" Christmas Caroling Day
Warminster Planned Parenthood
610 Louis Drive, Warminster, PA (map)
Friday, December 15th - 9:30 – 10:30 am

Every year pro-lifers across the nation bring the joy and hope of Christmas to the darkness of abortion facilities with a Christmas Caroling day.

We gather around a large empty Christmas crèche manger -- symbolizing both the hopeful anticipation of a child's birth and the emptiness left behind by abortion – and sing carols about the Christ child. Babies have been SAVED from abortion when their mothers heard these carols and were moved by the thought of how Mary said "YES" to be the mother of Jesus.

Please plan to join us on Friday, December 15th for our annual "Peace in the Womb" Christmas Caroling Day. For more information, please contact Barney Byrne at 267-337-0660.

Please dress warm and invite your family and friends.
All are welcome!

The Christmas Caroling Day has become an important annual event for pro-life groups across the country. In the past it was known at the Empty Manger Christmas Caroling Day; however, it was changed to the Peace in the Womb Christmas Caroling Day. The new name is clearer and, hopefully, will help bring more people out to give witness, sing and pray.

This event is sponsored by the Pro-Life Action League and the Bucks County Pro-Life Coalition.

The mission of the Bucks County Pro-Life Coalition is to provide financial support to area crisis pregnancy centers and educate the community regarding sanctity of life issues from conception until natural death.  For more information about what is happening in Bucks County, please 'like' our Facebook page by clicking here.

Arkansas Defunds Planned Parenthood After It’s Caught Selling Aborted Baby Parts

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

Arkansas cut off tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars to the abortion chain Planned Parenthood last week after winning a lengthy legal battle.

Lawmakers in Arkansas voted to defund the abortion chain of Medicaid dollars in 2015after a series of undercover videos showed Planned Parenthood potentially illegally selling aborted baby body parts. However, abortion activists challenged the law.

The case made its way to a panel of the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled that the state could defund Planned Parenthood. The abortion group appealed to the full court, but the court refused to hear the case, allowing the ruling to stand.

On Monday, the state Department of Human Services said it ended the abortion chain’s Medicaid provider status last week, the AP reports. This means Planned Parenthood facilities in Arkansas no longer will receive tax dollars through Medicaid.

In 2015, Planned Parenthood received more than $51,000 in taxpayer-funded Medicaid payments in Arkansas. Even though the funding does not go to abortions directly, it is fungible and frees up money to promote and perform abortions.

Earlier this month, Judd Deere, a spokesman for state Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, emphasized the importance of states being allowed to cut of tax dollars to groups engaging in unethical practices.

“… [the ruling] reaffirms that Planned Parenthood and the three patients it recruited could not contest in federal court Arkansas’s determination that a medical provider has engaged in misconduct that merits disqualification from the Medicaid program,” Deere said in an email to the Democrat Gazette.

The abortion chain still could appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, but a spokesperson said they have not decided yet, according to the AP. When the state defunded the abortion business in 2015, Gov. Asa Hutchinson expressed outrage at the abortion chain’s barbaric practices.

“It is apparent that after the recent revelations on the actions of Planned Parenthood, that this organization does not represent the values of the people of our state and Arkansas is better served by terminating any and all existing contracts with them. This includes their affiliated organization, Planned Parenthood of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma,” Hutchinson said at the time.

In a statement, Hutchinson said he was ending the contracts after videos surfaced showing top Planned Parenthood executives haggling over the price of aborted babies’ body parts, admitting to altering abortion procedures to procure better organs and casually discussing ways their doctors “crush” unborn babies to obtain fully intact body parts.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion business in the United States, performing more than 320,000 abortions on unborn babies every year.

“There Are No Unwanted Children, Only Unfound Parents”

By Jean Garton
National Right to Life

Editor’s note. November is Adoption Awareness Month. NRL News Today has run adoption related stories, new and previously posted, all this month. The following was written by the late Dr. Jean Garton, author of the pro-life classic “Who Broke the Baby?”

In a classroom of six-year-olds, the teacher was discussing a picture of a family. One of the children featured had a different hair color than did the other family members. A little girl in the class said maybe that was because the boy had been adopted.
“I know all about adoptions,” she said, “because I was adopted.” “What does that mean if you’re adopted?” asked a classmate. “It means,” said the little girl, “that you grew in your mommy’s heart instead of her tummy.”
In its defense of mother and unborn child, the pro-life movement has always been a strong proponent of adoption. Yet there are whole organizations that exist for the sole purpose of aborting the adoption option. They believe that babies are better dead than with parents who are not theirs by birth.

When the founder of an anti-adoption group was asked how she would counsel a teenage daughter who became pregnant, she said she would counsel her daughter “first to keep the baby, second to have an abortion, third to commit suicide, and only fourth to put the baby up for adoption.”

Why all the hostility? A National Review article once suggested several reasons including…

1. In order for abortion to be legal and accepted, the unborn child has to be seen as the woman’s property.
2. Every happy adoptee is a reminder to aborting mothers of the road not taken.
Adoption is a tried and true family-building option. Adoption, all in all, has served women, children, and society very well.

As one professional noted,

“There are no unwanted children, only unfound parents.”
In the United States today there are millions of couples seeking to adopt. There are numerous reasons. Here are two.
First, the number of infertile couples in the U.S. exceeds one million, and even recent advances in reproductive technology can only help one in five.
Second, America’s annual abortion rate of over one million drastically reduces the number of children available for adoption.
The desperation of childless couples is evident in ads which appear daily in newspapers across the country. The following are actual placements.

Carly Fiorina Shares Two Abortion Stories That Made Her Pro-Life

Again and again, real abortion stories prove that Planned Parenthood is no friend to women.

By Kristi Burton Brown
Live Action News

In an with Catherine Szeltner of EWTN’s Pro-Life Weekly, former presidential contender and candidate for vice-president, Carly Fiorina, revealed two personal abortion stories that made an impact on her life. Fiorina explained that her known passion for the pro-life issue comes from “a whole set of experiences” — including going to a Planned Parenthood facility with a friend.

“It was a callous experience. Honestly, she was never the same again.”

First, perhaps, was an experience I had in my early twenties, right here in Washington, D.C., actually. I had a very good friend who decided she was going to have an abortion. And, despite my talking with her, she was adamant about this. And so we went to a Planned Parenthood clinic.

I observed that she was given no options. There was no conversation about whether or not this was the right thing for her and what her other alternatives might be.

It was a callous experience. And I saw the impact of that abortion on her — not just physically, but emotionally, and especially spiritually. Honestly, she was never the same since.

“His mother had been told to abort him. … She refused.”

I met my husband a couple years later, and when I married him, I learned that his mother had been told to abort him. She had him quite late in her life, she had a great deal of difficulty with her previous pregnancies, and so her doctor told her her life was in danger, and she should abort her unborn child. She refused. She was a brave and faithful woman. She spent a year in the hospital after his birth, but I’ve thought often about how different her life would have been, how different my life would have been had he not been brought into the world.

In addition to telling these abortion stories, Carly Fiorina opened up about learning that she could not have children of her own. This led her to “understand that life is a precious gift.” Fiorina remarked that on top of her personal experience with abortion stories, “science is proving us right.”

Indeed, scientific experts and decades of medical textbooks conclusively agree that every new, unique human being has his or her beginning at the moment of conception. The development of a preborn child in the first trimester — when the majority of abortions are committed in the U.S. — is nothing short of astonishing.

Life Legal Appeals PP’s License to SILENCE Daleiden!

from Life Legal Defense Foundation

Life Legal attorneys appeared before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals  on behalf of David Daleiden in Planned Parenthood v. Center for Medical Progress.

At issue is Life Legal’s anti-SLAPP motion, which was denied by federal district court judge William Orrick. A SLAPP, or Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation, is a lawsuit filed to suppress a defendant’s First Amendment rights to speech and petition.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America and ten of its affiliates sued the Center for Medical Progress for one purpose—to silence David Daleiden and other investigative journalists seeking to shed light on the criminal practices of the nation’s largest abortion provider. Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit seeks tens of millions of dollars in damages, which would shut down the Center for Medical Progress and, more importantly, silence others looking to expose Planned Parenthood’s illegal and unethical abortion and fetal body part harvesting methods.

Under California law, once a defendant has shown that a plaintiff’s lawsuit arises from free speech on a matter of public interest, the burden of proof shifts to the plaintiffs to prove that their claims are legally and factually sufficient to proceed with the lawsuit. In this case, we easily met the first element, showing that Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit is aimed squarely at David Daleiden’s constitutional right to publish material showing Planned Parenthood’s role in trafficking baby body parts.

But Planned Parenthood has consistently failed to meet its burden to produce evidence that the 15 separate causes of action filed against David Daleiden have any merit whatsoever.

“Since the first video was released, the abortion giant has focused on damage control by filing a lawsuit intended to silence the messenger,” said Life Legal’s Executive Director Alexandra Snyder. “The anti-SLAPP law prohibits such lawsuits, as they suppress free speech. It is our hope that the Ninth Circuit Court will apply the time-tested elements of the anti-SLAPP statute and render an opinion that protects David Daleiden’s First Amendment rights.”

Planned Parenthood is currently under active investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice. Recently the FBI requested unredacted documents from the Senate Judiciary Committee, which held numerous hearings after Daleiden’s videos were released. The videos showed Planned Parenthood’s willingness to negotiate the sale of baby parts for profit and resulted in the committee referring for prosecution seven of the affiliates currently suing Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress.

"The Life Legal Defense Foundation—and especially the incomparable Katie Short, lead counsel on our team of attorneys—have proved to be our greatest defenders." - David Daleiden, Center for Medical Progress

Please consider making a donation today towards David's legal defense. This is a critical time for our legal team. Planned Parenthood has summoned massive resources to silence David and others who seek to expose the abortion cartel's criminal practices. We need your help to keep up the fight!

Alabama Senate Candidate Doug Jones Supports Late-Term Abortions: “Not in Favor” of Banning Them

By Tim Graham
Life News

PolitiFact slammed Roy Moore’s wife Kayla Moore as “False” for saying at a rally that Alabama’s Democratic Senate candidate Doug Jones supports “full-term abortion.” They concluded “Moore measured Jones against a term that is disconnected from reality.”

During his campaign, Jones has stood with Planned Parenthood, the nation’s loudest and largest advocate of abortion on demand. On September 23, Jones posted a photo on Instagram with the caption: “Proud to be with Alabama House Minority Leader Anthony Daniels as he accepts a Champion of Women’s Health Award from Planned Parenthood #WePersist”.

PolitiFact reproduced what Jones said to Chuck Todd on MSNBC’s MTP Daily on September 27:

TODD: What are the limitations that you believe should be in the law when it comes to an abortion?
JONES: I am a firm believer that a woman should have the freedom to choose what happens to her own body. And I’m going to stand up for that, and I’m going to make sure that continues to happen. I want to make sure that as we go forward, people have access to contraception, they have access to the abortion that they might need, if that’s what they choose to do. I think that’s an issue that we can work with and talk to people about on both sides of the aisle.
TODD: So you wouldn’t be in favor of legislation that said, ban abortion after 20 weeks or something like that?
JONES: I’m not in favor of anything that is going to infringe on a woman’s right and her freedom to choose.

What part of that doesn’t say abortion on demand? When it became a controversy in Alabama, Jones added “I support the current law on a woman’s freedom to choose, which has been in place for decades, where late-term abortions are permitted to protect the life or health of the mother.”

This would imply the original language in the Roe vs. Wade companion case Doe vs. Bolton, but abortion advocates define “health of the mother” very broadly to “well-being” — meaning “she can have one if she wants one.” Jones is running for U.S. Senate, so he was telling Todd that on Senate bills, he’s going to stand with Planned Parenthood on the “no infringing” on abortion rights.

San Diego Abortion Facility Where Abortionist Engaged in Demonic Rant Has Closed

By Cheryl Sullenger
Operation Rescue

San Diego, CA – FPA Women’s Health, a chain of California abortion facilities, has shut down its troubled office on Miramar Road in San Diego, effective on Friday, November 17, 2017.

The San Diego location was the site of an incident involving abortionist Robert Santella and pro-life activist Zephaniah Mel. Santella threatened Mel with a pair of surgical scissors during a bizarre demonic rant, that included hissing and a confession that he loved killing children during abortions.

That behavior, along with complaints of malpractice and botched abortions, resulted in Santella’s firing from the abortion chain, which he had been affiliated with for over 30 years. Santella was forced to surrender his medical license after the California Medical Board charged him with negligence and unprofessional conduct.

Operation Rescue confirmed that Santella’s medical license has been surrendered and his private office on College Avenue in San Diego, where he also conducted abortions, is also closed.

The FPA office was also the scene of several medical emergencies that required ambulance transport, including one in September 2015, when a mother accompanying her daughter for an abortion was forced to call an ambulance for her bleeding daughter when the FPA Women’s Health staff refused. Her action likely saved her daughter’s life.

FPA Women’s Health has had a presence in San Diego County since the 1980s. The high-volume abortion business, which once boasted that its “doctors” spent only three minutes per patient completing abortions, has been forced to move a number of times.

While located in La Mesa, California, in the 1990s, the FPA abortion facility was the site of numerous large pro-life sit-ins, that resulted in the arrests of several peaceful protesters. In early 2002, the abortion business’ landlord finally evicted them from their office.

FPA relocated Sixth Avenue across from Balboa Park, until being forced to move again when the building they occupied was slated for demolition. Their most recent address on Miramar Road was considered an odd location since it was situated in the middle of a furniture mall.

Two years ago, a pro-life alternatives facility, Turning Point Pregnancy Resource Center, moved in next door to the abortion facility, and impacted FPA’s business by offering women assistance and positive alternatives to abortion.

The Pro-Life Vision and National Adoption Awareness Month

By Texas Right to Life

National Right to Life

Editor’s note. November is National Adoption Month. All this month we’ve been posting and reposting stories about this life-affirming decision.

November is National Adoption Awareness month. The annual event, started by President Ronald Reagan, focuses on finding adoptive families for children in foster care.

Finding forever homes for children who have been in the foster care system is life changing—for the children and for the families who experience the love of a child. Offering a home to children and teens in need is an incredible Pro-Life witness that we at Texas Right to Life have the privilege of seeing time and again.

When we asked our readers if they would, hypothetically, adopt a child to save him from abortion, the response was overwhelming. Of course, agreeing to adopt a hypothetical child is easy; that’s not what got our attention. The number of committed Pro-Lifers who have adopted children, fostered children, or been adopted themselves is amazing.

In response to the question, “Would you ever consider adopting a child who may otherwise be aborted?” one Texas Right to Life follower, Laurie, shared her touching story and her blog. On her blog, “Adoption Creates Families,” Laurie shares about her family’s journey to adopting five children. They fostered many children along the way, struggled with fear and uncertainty, adopted toddlers, two newborns, and a teenage son.

Texas families like Laurie’s are the Pro-Life heart of our state. This November as we raise awareness for the children in foster care who need forever homes, we also express our gratitude for the tremendous sacrifices adoptive families make to bring their children home.

Texas Right to Life has long advocated for ways to promote the loving choice of adoption. We have worked with legislators to make the adoption process less lengthy and less expensive, so that families who are waiting to grow their families through adoption will not have such a difficult journey.

United Nations Plan to Push Sex on Young Children is Defeated as African Nations Fight Back

By Stefano Gennarini, J.D.
Life News

Parental authority made a comeback in three UN resolutions about children this week, something thought impossible just a year ago.

There were audible gasps from the floor of the UN conference room on Monday morning as the vote tally of the UN third committee appeared on the overhead screen. The vote was close. Parental guidance in sex education unexpectedly won the day, with the United States voting in favor.

African nations and the small island state of Saint Lucia orchestrated a successful volley of hostile amendments to three resolutions calling for sex education for young children. The Africans were adamant that any resolution committing states or the UN system to providing sex education should include a caveat on “appropriate direction and guidance from parents and legal guardians.”

Saint Lucia was the first to introduce the amendment. It proposed parental guidance language in paragraphs about sex education last Friday in a resolution about girls and one about adolescents and youth, defined by the UN as beginning at 10 years of age.

“Parents and the family play an important role in guiding children,” the delegate said in the General Assembly. She said the original language in the resolution was “not adequate” because it relegated the role of parents to that of equal partners with young people, health providers and educators. She pointed to the UN treaty on the rights of the child as recognizing the rights of parents to direct the education of their children.

While the amendment failed in the resolution on youth, the very same amendment to identical paragraphs about sex education was adopted in three other resolutions on the girl child, the rights of the child, and girls with disabilities, introduced by the African Group in the latter two. Gasps gave way to applause with each amendment adopted.

Visibly frustrated European and Latin American delegates called for a vote on these amendments, a request only made in UN negotiations when the stakes are high. More often than not these delegations are able to use the rules of procedure to their advantage. This time they were outmaneuvered by the Africans in three resolutions.

The European Union said they did not see the paragraph on sex education as consensual. They were echoed by delegates from Latin America who called it “highly problematic.” Canada’s representative said, “we cannot accept this.” An Australian delegate said they were “extremely disappointed.” Many justified their opposition as technicalities and not as a substantive matter.

A delegate from Norway was more transparent, and said they could not accept the premise of the amendment because “children should decide freely and autonomously” on matters involving sexual and reproductive health.
An Egyptian delegate speaking on behalf of all African countries except South Africa responded with equal transparency, “Our African culture respects parental rights,“ and, “Egypt rejects attempts of certain countries to impose their education system on others.”
The United States and the Holy See emphasized the role of parents in sex education and rejected abortion as a component of sexual and reproductive health.

UN agencies continue to promote “comprehensive sexuality education” through their offices around the world, though the General Assembly rejected it last year. The lack of consensus on the issue has so far foiled attempts to legitimize this type of sexual education in UN programming.

Facebook Shouldn't Censor Pro-Life News Outlets

"These sites have also made it far easier for the pro-life movement to bypass mainstream media and disseminate news and commentary on a range of life issues."

By Michael J. New
Christian Post

This month, the New York Times ran an op-ed by Rossalyn Warren entitled "Facebook Is Ignoring Anti-Abortion Fake News." In the piece, Warren expresses displeasure over the fact that articles from pro-life websites such as LifeNews.com and LiveAction.org are frequently shared on Facebook, while abortion-related stories from mainstream-media outlets apparently receive less online attention.

Warren applauds Facebook's efforts to censor articles that are hoaxes, generated by spammers, or written with a clear profit incentive. But Warren also calls on Facebook to explicitly censor content from pro-life news outlets because she believes such articles spread "misinformation." There is plenty to criticize about Warren's piece.

First, she provides no evidence that pro-life websites run stories that are factually inaccurate. Certainly some articles rely on anecdotes and some engage issues – such as the abortion–breast cancer link — about which there exists scholarly debate. But Life News, Life Site News and Live Action make no effort to disguise their ideological leanings.

Online viewers certainly account for this when they read those articles, and surely those sites receive so much traffic in part because mainstream media outlets rarely publish news or commentary that even bothers to include pro-life perspectives.

An article recently published in the journal Contraception is instructive on this point. The authors interviewed 31 progressive journalists who frequently report on abortion-related issues.

During the interviews, over a third of the journalists admitted that they felt no need to present "pro-life" and "pro-choice" arguments with equal weight. Instead, these reporters felt it was their responsibility to address differences in merit between the two sides. Of course, in practice this often means entirely ignoring pro-lifers.

While pro-life spokespeople tend to be quoted from time to time in political stories about abortion, the useful perspective of pro-life researchers is almost always ignored when policy developments occur or when new studies on these topics are published. Warren's notion that mainstream-media outlets present unbiased information on life issues is truly laughable.

For instance, in 2006, the New York Times ran a front-page story claiming — based on a superficial analysis of state-level abortion data — that six recently passed pro-life parental-involvement laws were ineffective at lowering abortion rates among minors. The article all but ignored the 15 peer-reviewed studies in academic journals finding that parental-involvement laws reduce minors' abortion rates.

I’m Not the Child of a Rapist, I’m the Child of a Rape Victim

It is a great honor to have been invited to speak at Peru’s first international pro-life conference. I’m an attorney, wife, mother of 5, international pro-life speaker and writer, and the President of Save The 1 – a global pro-life organization with a network of over 525 who were conceived in rape (like me) and mothers who became pregnant by rape who are either raising their children, birthmothers, or post-abortive and regret aborting.

Additionally, we have hundreds of parents in our network who were told to abort due to a challenging pre-natal diagnosis, or those whose parents were told to abort them. We value our lives and the lives of our children. We urge the people of Peru to continue protecting human life without exception.

I’m sure you’ve heard abortion advocates say that it’s barbaric to force a rape victim to carry “a rapist’s child.” First of all, I am not the child of a rapist – I am the child of a rape victim. My mother and I object to me being characterized otherwise. The rapist has no claim to me! Tell those who say such things, do not insult me or my mother in this way.

Secondly, it is simply barbaric to punish an innocent child for someone else’s crime. Justice dictates that in a civilized society, we punish rapists, not babies. Those who would kill innocent children are the ones who are barbaric!

I did not deserve the death penalty for the crime of my biological father. My own birthmother had tried to kill me at two illegal abortions, and was pro-choice when we met 29 years ago, but today, we are thankful we were both protected by law from the horror of abortion, just as the women and children of Peru are protected today. She said back then, the only option she was given was to abort me. She said that there were no pro-life pregnancy resource centers at the time, and no one gave her any other help or hope.

Peru has legislators who have placed gun sights on children like me. To them I say, take them off! Remove me from your scope. I am not your game to be hunted and killed. I am a person and deserve life every bit as much as you.
This targeting of life is dehumanizing and demoralizing, not just for those yet unborn, but for every person living who was conceived in violence. The sting of your hatred is palpable and life-long.

Doctors Group Changes “Baby” to “Fetus” in Its “How Your Baby Grows During Pregnancy” Brochure

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has been siding with the abortion industry for years.

And a new change to one of its popular patient pregnancy handouts has some doctors concerned about the extent of the organization’s abortion politicking.

ACOG recently changed the word “baby” to “fetus” in its “How Your Baby Grows During Pregnancy” handout for patients, the Quebec Daily Examiner reports. Fetus is a medical term taken from Latin (“offspring”), but the abortion industry uses it as a way to de-humanize the unborn child.

Dr. Greg Marchand, a board certified OBGYN, said the organization made the change subtly in September, but it gained attention after ACOG sent a Nov. 22 email listing new resources available. The title now is “How Your Fetus Grows During Pregnancy.”
“It makes a really big difference,” Marchand said. “There’s some really big political implications here.”
Marchand linked the change to the organization’s pro-abortion political stance. He said the pamphlet often is given to newly expecting mothers during their first obstetrician visit.
“We are talking about the difference between telling a newly pregnant mom that she is pregnant with a baby or pregnant with a fetus,” he said. “This is early in pregnancy, when pregnancy termination is still something many new moms are considering.”
The June 2015 version of the pamphlet still appears in the public section of the website. The new pamphlet is available to members only.

Other than the change from “baby” to “fetus,” there are no other major changes to the pamphlet, according to the report.

The ACOG has been pushing an abortion agenda for years. During its 2015 annual conference, the organization made no secret of its support for the killing of unborn babies. It hosted abortion workshops and promoted Planned Parenthood and its eugenic founder Margaret Sanger during the conference.

It also has attacked conscience rights for those who oppose abortion and misled people about the beginning of life and late-term abortions.
