Pro-Life Lessons for the Defense of Marriage

by Rachel Lu

I’ve never been to the March for Life. It’s on my bucket list. I love looking at the pictures, because it inspires me to see all those well-bundled people, cold but smiling, feeling good despite the grimness of the occasion they have gathered to commemorate. They ought to feel good. They stand as representatives of one of the most remarkable political and social movements of the last century.

In legislative terms, the pro-life movement has of course been less successful than we might wish. Abortion is still very obtainable in this country, though there can also be little doubt that the movement has saved millions of lives. And in other ways, the achievements of the pro-life movement are enormous. Working with young people, I am regularly impressed by the number whose moral sensibilities have been formed in very large measure by the pro-life movement. Where the world too often showed them selfishness, indulgence and a callous disregard for the interests of the weak and innocent, the pro-life movement has taught our youth about self-sacrifice, honor and the immense value of a human being. The courts, the media and the academy have tried again and again to declare the movement dead. It isn’t.

That is the first lesson we can learn from the pro-life movement as we turn our attention towards the much-younger fight for marriage. It’s never over until one side decides to give up. The second lesson is that fighting the good fight isn’t necessarily futile even if the objective is achieved incompletely or not at all. Social movements have the power to change and shape whole societies. There’s a reason why they tend to be remembered long after the economic squabbles have been forgotten. They change the way we see the world. They alter us on the level of character. Social movements have the power to shine a bright light on our greatest social failings, helping to grow the conscience of a nation.

We Marched. Now What?

by Laura Peredo

Coming back from the March for Life is kind of like coming home after a church retreat. But instead of being on a Jesus high, you’re on a saving babies high. And that is awesome. There is no better time than NOW to be excited about joining the pro-life generation in defending and promoting a greater culture of life here in America.

After being in one city with hundreds of thousands of people who also believe in the sanctity of life, I am encouraged and inspired to continue exposing and being a witness to the beauty of each life. To see so many people who are willing to stand in frigid temperatures? It was incredible. And my college was given the honor of leading the march this year, which made it even more unique and inspiring.

Like all the marches and rallies I’ve been to before, it made me think about why I march. Why is that? It’s because I believe mothers, fathers, children, families, and our society deserve better than abortion. But marching is not enough. We’ve got to harness the excitement we all have about being pro-life right now and channel it into constructive ways to bring the end of abortion closer.

Everyone can get involved in promoting life in one way or another. We’re not called to do everything, but we’re all called to do something. And the time is now.

Here are some ways you can start the end to abortion today:

Call to Prayer for Life, Marriage, and Religious Liberty

Intention

We pray that we can continue to educate students
in the fullness of our Catholic faith

The U.S. Catholic Bishops invite the faithful to pray and fast for the renewal of a culture of life and marriage, and for the protection of religious liberty.

Reflection

In his proclamation, Evangelii Gaudium, Pope Francis praises the efforts of Catholic schools and charities that promote peace, social harmony, and the protection of human and civil rights. He states, "Yet, we find it difficult to make people see that when we raise other questions less palatable to public opinion, we are doing so out of fidelity to precisely the same convictions about human dignity and the common good." The role of Catholic schools, the Holy Father emphasizes, is to remain in dialogue with the formative teachings of the Church. In this way, all the sciences are embedded with Catholic theology, and these disciplines become instruments "for enlightening and renewing the world." In his address to trustees of the University of Notre Dame on Thursday, Pope Francis explained, "Essential...is the uncompromising witness of Catholic universities to the Church's moral teaching, and the defense of her freedom, precisely in and through her institutions, to uphold that teaching as authoritatively proclaimed by the magisterium of her pastors."

In light of Catholic Schools Week, let us remember the role of Catholic schools in striving to proclaim the Gospel message in all areas of study through first knowing and loving Christ.

Five Ways to Participate

  1.  Fast and abstain from meat on Fridays
  2.  Pray a daily rosary
  3.  Prayrs for the Faithful at Mass
  4.  Monthly Holy Hour
  5.  Fortnight for Freedom

Did you know?

Catholic Schools Week is being observed in dioceses around the country from January 26 through February 1. This year's theme, "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service," focuses on the principles of a Catholic education.
We pray that we can continue to educate students in the fullness of our Catholic faith.

Pro-Life Waco Is Leading A National Boycott Of Girl Scout Cookie Sales

                  Urgent action requests below

PLW is leading a national boycott of Girl Scout cookie sales. Urgent action requests. Success depends on all of us doing our part.

box_top.gif

Activist friends for life,

Are you ready to rumble?

In 2004, Pro-Life Waco organized a local (and successful) boycott of Girl Scout cookies.

Now in 2014, we are leading a NATIONAL cookie boycott.
Girl Scouts USA has not changed. Enough is enough!

They just can’t hold back when it comes to paying homage to the leaders of abortion on demand. n 2004, the local Girl Scout Council honored the CEO of the Waco Planned Parenthood abortion clinic as a Woman of Distinction.

Now, national Girl Scouts is praising Texas State Senator Wendy Davis and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius as women who are role models for girls because of their “achievements” in 2013! BOTH are unwavering supporters of abortion on demand—even late-term abortion. And there are much deeper problems with the Girl Scout agenda for our daughters.  Go to http://cookiecott.com a little later and find out more. First read this email and get ready for the action it will take to win again.

The national boycott of Girl Scout cookie sales, which I am coordinating, officially launches today with radio ads on five Texas stations. You can listen to the radio ad here.

Already, two news stories on Breitbart. The Breitbart stories have generated hundreds of comments. I think we have hit a nerve.

Endorsement of Wendy Davis Triggers National Boycott of Girl Scout Cookies

National Pro-Life Groups Join Girl Scout Boycott

Now for the battle plan

1. Pray fervently that this outreach in support of girls and their families will bring an abundant harvest.

2. A major part of the boycott strategy is for supporters to give a special flyer to Girl Scout parents and leaders at public sales to explain WHY we are not buying cookies. We must let them know in addition to refraining from purchases. The flyer is available to all at www.cookiecott.com. Or you can come by our office at 4209 W Waco Drive and pick up copies at our door. Also, give this flyer to your friends and tell everyone about the boycott.

3. Write a letter to the editor of the Waco Tribune Herald defending the boycott.  Send to letters@wactrib.com  If you live in another city, send to your newspaper. We are going to catch a lot of flack from the liberal press.  We must defend ourselves. We must be extremely strong in Waco to help make a strong boycott spread nationwide.

4. Email, call, or write on paper to your friends and relatives to spread the word about the boycott.

5. Call talk radio programs and talk about the boycott.

6. Write a post on Facebook about the boycott. Be sure to let your friends know to go to www.cookiecott.com.

7. Tweet. Tweet. And then tweet again. For Twitter, the name of the campaign is #cookiecott. For posts on social media you are encouraged to incorporate this graphic if you know how to do it.

8. If you have media contacts, I welcome the opportunity to talk about the boycott. In a little more than an hour at 10:30 Central I will be interviewed on the Mike Gallagher Talk show. On Friday the 31st, in the 10 a.m. hour, I will be a guest on the Lynn Woolley Talk Show out of Temple (KTEM AM).

9. Pray fervently that this outreach in support of girls and their families will bring an abundant harvest.

You don’t have to do everything. But PLEASE do some things. We cannot just stand by and let the forces of secularism and moral relativism devour our children and grandchildren.

This is grassroots--against a very strong Girl Scout organization that will be supported in media. For every dollar raised by PLW, Girl Scouts USA raises $3,000. Some will paint us as hurting little girls. In reality we are the defenders of little girls. Girl Scouts USA is okay with having future Girl Scouts slaughtered in abortions!

Abuse of little children was one of the few things in the Gospels that raised anger from our Lord. For you and I abuse of little children must bring action. Now, go do the right thing!

PLW’s Biggest Venture Ever To Be Announced.......

Pro-Life Updates from Waco, Texas

1. Big Pro-Life Waco news. Huge undertaking will be announced on Thursday.
2. Life Chain in Waco will win big on Super Bowl Sunday
3. A terrific new pro-life movie in a theatre near you.

1. Big Pro-Life Waco news. Huge undertaking will be announced on Thursday.
Don't fail to read tomorrow's email. I will be announcing the most aggressive Pro-Life Waco undertaking ever. For this to be successful your support at the keyboard and in the community will be needed. Our biggest pro-life pro-decency venture to this point was the successful Girl Scout cookie boycott of 2004--because of the local Girl Scout alliance with Planned Parenthood. What I will write about tomorrow is an even larger effort to protect our vulnerable children.

2. Life Chain in Waco will win big on Super Bowl Sunday
The Super Bowl is this Sunday. For this occasion, we will have a Super Life Chain from 2 to 3 PM. As usual, this will be at the intersection of Valley Mills and Waco Drive. Signs to hold will be available to all. Traffic will be heavy with people preparing for kickoff at 5:30 PM. While the weather is forecast to be bad in New York for the football game, a lovely day is predicted for Waco. So, come on out in join your pro-life friends for Life Chain. You will still have plenty of time to watch the Super Bowl.

3. A terrific new pro-life movie in a theatre near you.
Gimme Shelter is a pro-life movie that came to movie theaters in Waco and the world this past week. In Waco, it is showing at the Galaxy 16 Theater at 333 S. Valley Mills Drive. I have not seen it. However, from Christian media and friends’ comments, this appears to be a wonderful movie. I was advised to bring Kleenex. It's important that we see this movie this week so it can have a longer run in theaters.

Abort 73

Salon Writer Believes Abortion Is A Human Sacrifice And She’s Okay With That

by Nancy Flanders

We hear about them quite often in the news – the mothers who sacrificed themselves for their child. The women who put their own well-being aside and do whatever it took to save their child. For example: A mother who drown after saving her three young children from a river. The mother who protected her son with her life in an earthquake by using her body as a shield. The mother who threw herself in front of an oncoming car to save her child and lost her own life. And the mother who gave her life to cancer rather than subject her unborn daughter to harmful medications. We call these women brave. We call them selfless. We call them heroines. We say they know the true meaning of motherhood.

So what do we say than of mothers like Mary Elizabeth Williams who believe that fetuses are living human beings, that the fetuses they have carried or will carry are their living babies, but in the same breath announce that those children’s lives are not as valuable as their own? Are they brave? Are they selfless? Do they know the true meaning of motherhood? Williams, in a piece for Salon writes:
I know that throughout my own pregnancies, I never wavered for a moment in the belief that I was carrying a human life inside of me. I believe that’s what a fetus is: a human life. And that doesn’t make me one iota less solidly pro-choice.
If life indeed begins at conception and that is no longer the argument surrounding abortion, then does the argument become: When does love begin? Does love begin with that first positive pregnancy test? Does love begin only when a pregnancy is planned? Does love begin when the child is born? Or does love begin when the child is able to return a smile? When do we love someone enough to give value to their lives, value above our own?

The How and Why of Roe's Radical Mandate

RICK HINSHAW

Clarke D. Forsythe, Abuse of Discretion: The Inside Story of Roe v. Wade (New York: Encounter Books, 2013)

With his extensive background in law, Clarke Forsythe, senior counsel at Americans United for Life, seems the ideal author for a detailed overview of Roe v. Wade. In Abuse of Discretion, he does not disappoint, providing a comprehensive account of how and why the Supreme Court justices used Roe — and its often overlooked but equally significant companion case, Doe v. Bolton — to impose a radical pro-abortion mandate on the entire nation.

Through what he describes as “a quarter-century of research” – research that included examination of the papers of eight of the nine justices who decided Roe – Forsythe analyzes Roe and its impact, 40 years later, in the process confirming what many pro-life activists knew instinctively at the time:
  •  that the ruling was far more sweeping, and radical, than claimed by media and Court members themselves;
  • that it resulted not from a comprehensive, reasoned analysis of facts, but from an ideological agenda pushed by the Court’s most activist members;
  • that the justices misused, misunderstood and misrepresented pertinent facts in a range of critically relevant areas, from the history of abortion laws, to medical data and developments, to public opinion regarding abortion;
  • that instead of a careful, balanced study of empirical data from various perspectives, the justices relied almost exclusively on advocacy pieces produced by pro-abortion activists;
  • that the social crises the justices believed legal abortion would help alleviate – poverty, child abuse, out-of-wedlock pregnancies – would grow worse in ensuing decades.
Most disturbing is the justices’ – especially Justices William O. Douglas and William J. Brennan, Jr. – manipulation of the judicial process to bring about their fore-ordained result: a nationwide mandate legalizing abortion.

Breaking: House passes ‘No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act’

by Dustin Siggins

WASHINGTON, D.C., January 28, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) – By an overwhelming margin of 227-188, the U.S. House of Representatives has passed H.R. 7, the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act.”
Passed through the House Judiciary Committee on January 15, the Act would permanently enact several pro-life policies. The most prominent of these is the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits federal funding for abortion except in cases of life of the mother, rape, and incest. Currently, the Hyde Amendment is approved annually.

H.R. 7 also prevents federal funding of health plans that include coverage for elective abortions, and eliminates federal funds for use by the District of Columbia for abortions except for so-called “non-elective” abortions, among other changes to current law.

Rep. Chris Smith, R-NJ, introduced H.R. 7 in 2013 with Democratic Representative Dan Lipinski of Illinois. Lipinski was one of six Democrats to vote in favor of H.R. 7. One Republican, Richard Hanna of New York, voted against the legislation, and one Member, Republican Paul Broun of Georgia, voted "present." (See the entire roll call here.)

Three Kings and a Baby

By Gabriel Garnica

Having recently celebrated the Epiphany, wherein we commemorate the journey and adoration of three wise, and brave, kings for our newborn Savior ( Matthew 2:1-12), we might also dwell on the decisions of another set of three kings regarding babies.

The First Pro-Life Decision
Scripture tells us the story of two prostitutes who ask King Solomon to settle an argument between the two of them over who is the mother of a particular baby (1 Kings 3:16-28 ). The wise king asks for a sword to divide the baby in half so that both can have part of the baby. Ultimately, Solomon decides that the essence of motherhood is unconditional, unselfish love willing to sacrifice, not chained to convenience or self-interest, free from bitterness or resentment and, above all, recognizing the mutual relationship between personal responsibility and trust in the Will of God. In awarding the baby precisely to the woman willing to sacrifice her own interest for the baby’s safety and welfare, Solomon embraces the sanctity of life over self.

A King’s Right To Choose
If wise Solomon showed us the majestic heights to which noble rule can rise, then Herod demonstrated the pathetic depths to which ignoble rule can sink. Consumed by insecurity and doubt, this king chose the convenience of mass murder in a vile and feeble attempt to maintain a grasp on the false illusion of a temporary throne. Is not abortion merely this, the pathetically selfish attempt to escape personal responsibility, or the equally tragic victory of the material over the spiritual? Is not the very essence of abortion yet another cry of rebellion against the omnipotence and rule of God over life? Is not abortion a morally immature “solution” steeped in self? In murdering innocence for self-interest, Herod embodied this society’s rampant selfishness and greed, and provides us with a tragic contrast to the noble decision of Solomon.

Vigil Memorializes Mom and Baby Removed from Life Support & Warns of Trend to Dehumanize

Ft. Worth, TX – Operation Rescue’s Troy Newman and Cheryl Sullenger joined a group of about 50 pro-life supporters for a memorial vigil for Marlise Munoz and her baby outside John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas, on Sunday after news broke that the hospital had withdrawn life support.

Statements released by the hospital and the Munoz and Machado families indicated that Marlise Munoz was removed from life support at 11:29 a.m. and died a short time later. However, there was no mention made of Baby Munoz, who was 23-weeks gestation at the time of Marlise Munoz’ death yesterday morning.
“We needed to give that baby a voice and dignity in death that he or she never had in life,” said Newman. “We wanted the world to understand that this baby’s life – whether there were health issues or not – had value and deserved a chance at life.”

Mrs. Munoz had been on life support at JPS Hospital since November, when she arrived “still alive” according to a hospital statement in November after collapsing at her home. Doctors determined that she was “brain dead” but kept her on life support because she was 14 weeks pregnant in compliance with Texas law that prevents “life sustaining” treatment from being removed from pregnant women. A judge disagreed with the hospital officials’ reading of the law and ordered life support terminated.

Buffer Zone Laws Are Anything But Pro-Choice

In June, the Supreme Court is expected to rule on whether to strike down a Massachusetts law that created a 35-foot zone around abortion clinics where pro-life activists were banned from approaching women seeking abortions. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia called abortion protestors “counselors,” saying, “What these people want to do is to speak quietly and in a friendly manner, not in a hostile manner, because that would frustrate their purpose, with the people going into the clinic.”

This statement sparked the interest of Dean Obeidallah, a report for The Daily Beast, who headed out to a New Jersey abortion clinic to see what it was really like. What he claims to have seen was a variety of anti-abortion activists. Some were peacefully praying, others were “respectfully” approaching pregnant women, and others, he says, were screaming at women trying to bully them into not going into the clinic.

Most pro-life activists would agree with Obeidallah that no one should be shouting, screaming, or bullying a woman who is seeking an abortion. A woman seeking an abortion is in need of support. More often than not, she doesn’t want the abortion but doesn’t have a support system available. It is the responsibility and the honor of pro-life counselors to become that support system.

Can We Live An ‘Ordinary Life’ Amidst The Abortion Slaughter?

by Jonathon van Maren

January 27, 2014 (UnmaskingChoice.ca) - The other day, LifeSiteNews writer Hilary White posted an interesting question: “A question that has been haunting me lately: given what we know, given what is happening in the world, what business do we have pursuing a quiet, ordinary life?” That depends, I suppose, on your definition of quiet and ordinary, but it reminded me of a quote from Ronald Reagan that applies perfectly to today’s culture wars. “When you’re outnumbered and surrounded and someone yells ‘charge,”” Reagan noted, “Any way you’re facing, you’ll find a target.” At this time and in this country, if you’re not fighting, you’re ceding ground.

I’ve tried to put into words what the realization of the abortion reality does when you first come into contact with it. In articles and presentations, I’ve described how seeing a video of an abortion procedure changed the way I viewed Canada, and how speaking with a young university student who had an abortion a few weeks earlier on my very first day of pro-life outreach changed the way I viewed the abortion wars. But I think Dr. Monica Miller, in her superb book Abandoned: The Untold Story of the Abortion Wars, describes this realization better than anything I’ve read or heard so far:

Proclaiming Life: Preborn vs. Unborn

By Diane Mckelva

We live in a world of conundrums. The pro-life movement is a perfect example. During the news coverage of the March for Life rally in Washington DC, I was struck by the term that many pro-life advocates continue to use when speaking about a child in the womb: unborn. Of all the prefixes that we could use in referring to the precious life in the womb, I have yet to determine why the term unborn was chosen. More perplexing, since it is an established fact (a unified consensus of both scientific community and pro-life advocates) that life begins upon fertilization, why do we continue to use the term un-born?

In distinguishing when life begins, Dr. Keith L. Moore, PhD, DSc, FIAC, FRSM, FAAA, one of the most respected anatomists and embryologists, says:
“[The Zygote] results from the union of an oocyte and a sperm. A zygote is the beginning of a new human being. Human development begins at fertilization, the process during which a male gamete or sperm … unites with a female gamete or oocyte … to form a single cell called a zygote. This highly specialized, totipotent cell marks the beginning of each of us as a unique individual.”  [The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology, 6th ed. Keith L. Moore, Ph.D. & T.V.N. Persaud, Md., (Philadelphia: W.B. Saunders Company, 1998), 2-18]
It’s not surprising that in our current culture, we might unconsciously gravitate toward the prefix “un-”. You don’t have to look very far to witness our fascination, and in some instances the unhealthy obsession with the un-living. First and foremost is our continued support and endorsement of abortion; legally killing to date over 1.4 billion children in the womb. Then there is the television show The Walking Dead that many people follow religiously. Then there is this whole culture of people that are preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse. (Don’t roll your eyes. Even the US Center for Disease Control has a webpage devoted to the ridiculous phenomenon.)  Then, of course, we have the fascination with vampires that has been fostered and promoted by genre writers like Ann Rice and Stephanie Meyer, and immortalized by Hollywood.

The Nuns and the Priests

Fr. Frank Pavone
National Director, Priests for Life

A lot of attention was given recently to the Little Sisters of the Poor, and the way that the Obama Administration wants to force them to cooperate in its plan to expand access to contraceptives, abortion-inducing drugs, and sterilization. They are rightly saying “No,” and, like us at Priests for Life, have said it through a federal lawsuit.

Like the case of Priests for Life, their lawsuit initially resulted in a judgment against them, with the court saying that the mandate did not in fact pose a “substantial burden” to their religious freedom.

And like us, the Sisters went to the appellate court for an emergency injunction against the mandate, which otherwise would have been enforced against them starting on January 1.

This past New Year’s Eve, the Little Sisters of the Poor and Priests for Life had very similar experiences. December 31 came with no immediate protection from the mandate, and the prospect of having it go into effect the next day. December 31 also came with both groups having a request for an emergency injunction in the hands of two different federal courts.

And the hours ticked by while we waited.

As morning turned into afternoon, our attorney reminded us that in case the injunction were denied, one of the things we could do was to send an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court, and it would be assigned to one of the Justices to either grant the injunction or not.

As things turned out, the Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit granted the request of Priests for Life for emergency injunction, just before 5pm. (Phone calls to the court just before that said they were closed for the holiday, but we reached someone who told us that everyone had left except the judges that were working on our case, along with their clerks!)

For the Little Sisters of the Poor, the request for emergency injunction was denied – and hence, they had to take that second emergency step that we would have also had to take: to go to the Supreme Court  for the emergency injunction. And before the day was over, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor granted the temporary, emergency injunction for the Sisters. (In an odd twist of appropriateness, a few hours later, we saw her on TV right here in NY City pressing the button to lower the famous New Year’s Eve ball in Times Square.)

I relate all this to paint a simple picture: two Catholic groups, one run by religious sisters and one by priests, having to demand, through emergency measures, that they not be forced to violate their consciences. The group of sisters serves the poor; the group of priests serves the poorest of the poor, the unborn. And both simply want to do their work while worshiping God in the way they see fit.

Both of us got what we needed, at least for the moment. But the fact that we had to fight for it – and still have to fight in the months to come – is a sign of the fact that all of us always have to fight for freedom. It can never be taken for granted.

Make Pro-Abortion Extremists Play Defense

By MARJORIE DANNENFELSER

In 2012, Democrats ran a well-coordinated campaign to demonize and distort pro-life candidates as anti-woman misogynists hell-bent on taking away birth control. The Republican response to this line of attack consisted mostly of pivoting away to focus on “jobs” and the “economy.” With rare exceptions, instead of responding, GOP candidates were unwilling to answer the attacks head-on.

In order to win elections in the future, Republicans will have to change tactics and better respond to these scurrilous accusations.

They had a chance to change things in Virginia in 2013. Going into the Virginia governor’s race, pro-life advocates believed it would be a different ballgame with a strong pro-life leader in Ken Cuccinelli as the GOP nominee. During his career, Cuccinelli was known as a candidate unlikely to back down from a fight and unafraid to counterpunch.

On cue, and pulling from the 2012 playbook, Democrats pounded Cuccinelli with millions of dollars worth of “war on women” attack ads. The pounding was so severe that, just a couple of weeks before Election Day, the Cook Political Report found that McAuliffe’s campaign had spent more of its ad budget (26 percent) hitting the Republican on this topic than on any other issue. That is, McAuliffe and his allies ran more than 5,600 TV spots on abortion alone.

But instead of combating these so-called war on women charges, Republicans opted again to try to change the subject. McAuliffe’s echo chamber was complete when the press failed to cut through the paid media assault and relay accurate information about each candidate’s actual positions.

Republican National Committee Affirms That Pro-Life Is A Winning Position

COUNSELS PRO-LIFE CANDIDATES NOT TO STAY SILENT
WHEN ATTACKED WITH “WAR ON WOMEN” RHETORIC

By Dave Andrusko

Gathering in Washington, DC for the Republican National Committee’s winter meeting, the RNC overwhelmingly passed a resolution today that says the party “will support Republican pro-life candidates who fight back against Democratic deceptive ‘war on women’ rhetoric by pointing out the extreme positions on abortion held by Democratic opponents.” The resolution explicitly rejects those who would counsel pro-life GOP candidates and their campaigns to adopt “a strategy of silence on the abortion issue when candidates are attacked.”

The “Resolution on Republican Pro-Life Strategy” was drafted by Delaware National Committeewoman Ellen Barrosse and co-sponsored by 15 other RNC members. It passed the RNC’s Resolutions Committee unanimously on Wednesday and easily today.

“RNC leaders delayed the start of the meeting this week so that they could march alongside activists in the annual March for Life rally, signaling that the party is embracing and highlighting their stance on abortion, which has been taken up by state legislatures across the country,” according to Nia-Malika Henderson, writing on the Washington Post’s she-the-people blog.
