A Tale of Two Marches: First hand account

"It was the best of time; it was the worst of times" Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

How can a march that gave a voice for those who couldn't speak turn into a demonstration of privilege, abortion, and toxic feminism?

That is the question I have ponder the last few days when I attended the March for Life and the Women's March. After a heart to heart conversation with my mother (always eager to know about my travels), I felt like I had to write something comparing both of these marches. I encourage everyone who reads this post to pray for the conversion of those involved with abortion and for an end to both toxic feminism and masculinity that is dividing our culture.

March for Life January 18th 2019

I attended with 650,000 attendees who gave a voice to the voiceless (the unborn). As I took in the procession heading towards the Supreme Courthouse, I heard from the marchers singing, praying, and most importantly chants for the defense of life. They all were smiling and full of life.

Women's March January 19th 2019

The next day our nation's capital goes from a march for the voiceless to a march of being privileged and part of the walking dead. When I stood in downtown DC to watch tens of thousands of women take to the streets with abortion, anti-Trump, and even religious bigotry signs, my heart sunk. Why has our culture turned a blind-eye with apathy towards our neighbors? The Women's March was nothing but a parade for the walking dead and hypocrites in our culture who bought the counterfeit.

Even a brave small group of pro-lifers who countered the event received hatred from the participants to the point that they had to censor the anti-abortion signs. Two participants even claimed that I was brainwashed. One disclosed how she aborted two  children because she "was not ready for a child", but she became an adopted mother later in life.

We have much work that needs to done if we want to change the culture. The good news is that we have God and truth on our side.

To be combatant against this culture of death, selfishness, apathy, and even brokenness we must be equipped with love, mercy, and hope. The pro-life movement is one of love. Love conquers all.

2018 in Review and What to Do in 2019

by Mickey Kelly
Voices for Life

One thing I really enjoy in the final days of the year is when I take time to look back on the good, bad, and ugly of the year since it began. It helps me figure out what went wrong and where can I improve in 2019. Likewise, pro-lifers should be doing the same thing and go into 2019 with the flame of love and hands of mercy to save the unborn child.

There were many successes, so I will share a few of them with you that happened on the local and even national level.

Local/State News

The Pro-Life Union was under new leadership by Tom Stevens. Tom is a Villanova graduate and has participated in vigils since his college days. the coalition is fortunate to have you as our leader.  Read all about him here: http://catholicphilly.com/2018/01/news/profile/family-man-now-leads-areas-largest-pro-life-organization/

Though we had no closing of abortion facilities there has been more and more people getting involved of all ages, especially college aged students who lost a 1/3 of their peers because of this horrific atrocities. One of those students was honored by the Pro Life Union of Greater Philadelphia as the recent Stand Up for Life Dinner. See article here: http://catholicphilly.com/2018/11/news/profile/young-pro-life-leader-makes-time-for-prayer-witness-at-upenn/

New life saving facility known as Gianna Center opened its doors in Philadelphia. Started in New York and named after St. Gianna Molla, the center offers general gynecological care that conforms to Catholic teaching on sexuality and procreation.  See article here: http://catholicphilly.com/2018/07/news/local-news/new-philadelphia-womens-center-offers-authentic-catholic-health-care/

A letter from
Padre Pio to Pope Paul VI
in support of the prophetic
encyclical

Across much of the US and around the world, pro-lifers commemorated the 50th anniversary of Pope Paul VI's encyclical Humanae Vitae.

There was even a conference with Janet Smith as the main headliner. Read more here: http://catholicphilly.com/2018/10/news/local-news/prophetic-voice-of-humane-vitae-studied-at-weekend-events/

On July 25th 2018, pro-lifers watched a special screening on how the papal encyclical echoes well into the 21st Century. Read more here: https://voicesunborn.blogspot.com/2018/07/local-pro-lifers-host-screening.html#.XCeikWzsaM8

Sadly abortions continue to be high in Philadelphia, especially at the Philadelphia's Women Center in the Chinatown district. Please consider praying for an hour or two outside of this facility. 6000 baies a year are being killed. Even the security guard and glum faced professor from Swathmore University need to open eyes to the truth that abortion separates families.

Abortions continue to slide outside of the Planned Parenthood Blackwell Center in Philadelphia. During the last 40 Days Campaign, 13 babies were saved.

National News

Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court, despite the smear attacks from the #MeToo Movement and Democrats helping CNN come up with false news narratives in an attempt to destroy his integrity.

The Supreme Court by a narrow 5-4 margin struck down a California Law forcing pregnancy centers in promoting abortion.

Abortion facilities have been shutting their doors. The tide is turning.
Republicans lost the House of Representatives, yet they gained four additional seats in the Senate.

What Can You Do?

After all of this, you might be asking how you can get involved. Easily put you can start defending life in your community today by being present. Sadly many young people are comfortable with the screen in the digital age of social media. However, it does not kill you to fast from it.

Suggestions:
  • You need to be present in front of the abortion facilities praying for the mothers entering the facility, extending a hand of mercy, and being a peaceful loving present to the abortion workers and volunteers.
  • Volunteer at a local pregnancy center
  • Recruit more people to join the cause
  • Host pro life events in your community, college campus, and church
  • Ask your pastor to hold a holy hour for an end to abortion on a monthly or weekly basis
  • Ask a pro-life and chastity speaker to attend your next rally or event. Culture Project or Generation Life are definitely great speakers to have.
  • Write letters to your representatives persuading them to put forth life saving bills.
  • Use your gifts and talents for the promotion of the culture of life
  • Most importantly don't be passive. It's better for you to get involved and one day abortion will be no more
  • Use social media to spread the word about pro life events and even post pro-life quotes on your status. Yes, you will lose friends, but remember Jesus Christ had lost some followers and was betrayed by one of his own apostles, so you're in good company.
  • Remember local pro-life groups in between your utility and cell phone bills by giving a donation.
  • Give away unused baby items to a women's shelter for expected mothers.
  • Organize a March for Life in your city

Looking ahead

Across many cities and states there are seats for city council, court, gubernational and even mayor. Do your part today to secure a principled consistent life candidate of character. Fight the power in your community today even if you must be imprisoned.

Planned Parenthood Worker Admits 'It's a Baby,' Begs for God's Forgiveness

"They [pro-lifers] are telling the truth. It is what they say, how horrible it really is and that is coming from inside [PP]. I have seen it."

By Samuel Smith
Christian Post

A grief-stricken Christian Planned Parenthood worker has revealed the reality behind her employer — it is as bad as pro-lifers say it is. Can God forgive her for working at the nation's largest abortion provider, she asked.

Last Friday, an anonymous Planned Parenthood employee called into Dr. Michael Brown's nationally syndicated conservative talk radio show "The Line of Fire" and expressed serious regret for the fact that she has been working for Planned Parenthood in an administrative position for over four months.

Even though she opposes abortion, the caller took the position because she was a single mother in need of a well-paying job.

The woman assured that in her position, she was not required to conduct the abortion procedures. However since taking the job, she explained, she hasn't experienced the same level of happiness and even stopped going to church because she felt so embarrassed to be working for Planned Parenthood, which ends the lives of over 300,000 unborn children every year.

"I know we have to answer to God for everything that we do, but will I be judged the same way as people who actually have abortions and things like that?" The woman asked Brown, who is pro-life. "How do you think God sees that? Do you think I am too far gone to go back?"

Brown, a Jewish believer in Christ who is an apologist and author with a Ph.D. in near eastern languages and literatures from New York University, assured her that she is not too far gone to go back but that she must immediately quit her job.

"First, you are not too far gone to go back but you need to get out of there. You got no business working there but God is merciful and compassionate and He understands your struggles — a single mom, all the issues you are dealing with. There is forgiveness," Brown assured. "Jesus died for any and all sins you've committed. It's not that you have left God entirely, you just made a wrong decision. It's one that is understandable but it is absolutely wrong and you need to get out of there and trust God for your next step. He won't fail you."

Brown added that because the caller is a child of God, she was feeling God's "conviction."

"Because you are His child, the joy isn't there and it can't be because you are facilitating people's abortions," Brown said, adding that her administrative job "would be, in that respect, no different than say if during the days of slave trade that your job was to register how many people were on the ship and how many survived or height and weight for sale or something like that. Or, if you were in Nazi Germany during the Holocaust and your job was to count the shoes that were taken from the Jewish prisoners or gold teeth that were taken or whatever."

"For sure, the Holy Spirit is not letting you be comfortable," he added. "For sure, your own conscience is not letting you be comfortable but don't think for a moment that God's grace is not there."
