Please Call Your Local Theater and ask Them to Show Gosnell When it Opens on October 12th

My friend Ann Mcelhinney, one of the filmmakers behind the Gosnell movie, asked me to pass on an urgent message to you:

She’s asking that all pro-life Americans call their local AMC, Cinemark or Regal theaters and ask them to show Gosnell when it opens on October 12th.

It’s a simple request – but one that will make a huge difference. Theater chains really pay attention if enough people phone and demand a movie and they open up screens.

Here’s the note Ann sent me this morning:

Marjorie – At the moment we are fighting to get the film into theaters. Right now we have about 180 locations booked and you can find them here. We plan to have it in 600-700 theaters so that most people in the US will be close to a cinema showing Gosnell on opening weekend.
However theater chains need to be persuaded to show Gosnell. They need to see the demand for the movie at a local level and to be convinced that the theater will be full on the opening night.
Can you please pass on my message to SBA List activists and ask them to call their local theaters ASAP?

Remember, this is the one movie that Hollywood, Planned Parenthood, and pro-abortion legislators do NOT want Americans to see. Especially ahead of the 2018 Midterm elections! They know that if Americans see for themselves the horrific truth of the abortion industry, that they will turn out in November to vote out pro-abortion politicians.

The pro-abortion establishment want this film to fail. Don’t let them succeed! Please call your local AMC, Cinemark or Regal theater right away.

Report Shows Planned Parenthood Not 'Irreplaceable' or 'Lifesaving'

An influential pro-life organization has released a comprehensive report detailing how the nation's largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, is neither "lifesaving" nor "irreplaceable" in terms of the health services they offer.

The breakdown of the data showing this to be so was released Wednesday by the Charlotte Lozier Institute, the education arm of the Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life political action committee that works to get pro-life women elected to Congress.

According to the abortion giant's annual report, Planned Parenthood received $555 million in federal tax dollars in the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2016. PP claims to be an "irreplaceable component of our country's healthcare system" that offers "lifesaving care."

The CLI authors, Vice President and Director of Data Analytics James Studnicki and Institute President Charles A. Donovan, say otherwise.

For most of the services offered at their nearly 650 centers nationwide, Planned Parenthood only provides "a very tiny fraction" of the national annual incidence of those specific health services, the CLI report reads.

"For example, in 2015, Planned Parenthood provided 654,218 HIV tests, one of their highest-volume services. However, the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation estimates that 16% of Americans between the ages of 18 and 64, or about 45 million people, were tested that year for HIV."

When one crunches the numbers, it yields that Planned Parenthood did only 1.4% of HIV tests in the United States that year.

Planned Parenthood has a public image and much messaging that bills itself as "last resort" for people in many communities, a claim Studnicki and Donovan suggest is "deceptive" given the group's high concentration of their contraceptive clients in a handful of mostly liberal states with urban centers.

"The state of California alone provides 35.6% of all Planned Parenthood contraceptive clients, and that the majority (55.7%) of its contraceptive clients nationally come from only five states: California, New York, Texas, Washington, and Pennsylvania," the authors write.

"In fact, Planned Parenthood is most heavily invested in high-population areas which are rich in alternative providers."

The group remains, "by design, the dominant provider of induced abortions in the U.S.; it is their 'raison d'etre,' [reason for existence]" they continued.

Meet Susan B. Anthony's List's Government Affairs Team

With the election of President Trump, a GOP majority in the US Senate and a pro-life majority in the House of Representatives, the stakes have never been higher on Capitol Hill for the Pro-Life Movement.

Getting the right people elected, and defeating those who support abortion, is only half the battle. Legislation has to be drafted, argued, debated, amended and finally voted on. To make sure we win the battle of the “Hill” as well as the battle of the ballot box, the SBA List has assembled a Government Affairs Team to fight for human life in Washington.

When Americans hear the word “lobbyist” the image they dredge up is a of a corpulent cigar-smoking, spats-wearing knock off of the top hat-wearing “millionaire” in the Monopoly board game, standing outside the door to the House Chamber handing out hundred dollar bills to passing rows of jelly-spined Congressmen.

There was some truth to that image once, but today’s lobbying is more sophisticated, more nuanced and much more complicated. Now information is power. Government affairs means helping to draft legislative language, assisting with issues research, coalition building, and, yes, letting our representatives know the concerns of their constituents.

Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfield famously asserted that you go to war with the army you have. We are lucky that in the war for unborn children, the SBA List “army” is composed of the highest quality pro-life government affairs team in Washington.

Marjorie Dannenfelser. Yes, she’s the president of SBA List, and her portfolio contains many other duties like fundraising, administration and serving as the cheerleader and mother confessor to the SBA List staff, but Marjorie is always in the thick of things on Capitol Hill. Twenty years of working (and founding) the SBA List means that she knows a lot of Congressmen and Senators on a first name basis. Combining her in-depth knowledge of the legislative process and the strength of the organization she heads, Marjorie lends force to our efforts on Capitol Hill. When she calls, they listen.

Marilyn Musgrave is SBA List’s Vice President of Government Affairs. Musgrave was a pro-life hero in the Colorado House and Senate, before graduating to Congress, where she served three terms representing Colorado’s 4 th CD. She knows the “dance of legislation” inside and out and is well-respected on Capitol Hill. Her phone calls get answered.

Billy Valentine is the SBA List’s Vice President of Policy. Billy has run political campaigns and worked on Capitol Hill for pro-life stalwarts like Chris Smith (R-NJ) and former Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS). A dynamo of energy, he gets more done before breakfast than most of us do all day. He blends the politics of the Pro-Life Movement with a canny sense of what is possible on Capitol Hill to score successes for our cause.

The newest addition to the team, Autumn Christensen, is the Director of Policy at SBA List. She has spent over a decade on Capitol Hill working for pro-life members of Congress, and staffed the bipartisan Congressional Pro-life Caucus. She has written pro- life legislation, drafted rules and amendments and worked with pro-life partisans on efforts to save human lives. She knows the legislative system inside and out, and brings a wealth of experience to the SBA List Team.

Eric Schmitz has served as Legislative Director for SBA List since October of 2014. A young man with extensive of legislative experience, he has worked for pro-life legislators both in Maryland and at the federal level, including Congressman Bartlett (R- MD). Eric is a constant presence on Capitol Hill and an expert at bringing SBA’s influence to bear at hearings and mark-up sessions where the real work of the Congress gets done.

Chuck Donovan leads the Charlotte Lozier Institute. Chuck and the Lozier Institute are critical to our success, Chuck served as legislative director the National Right to Life Committee, worked in the Reagan White House, helped lead the Family Research Council for nearly two decades and has been a senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation. He has written and co-authored numerous books and papers on family topics and has appeared time and again on the various TV and cable networks. Chuck and the Lozier Institute supply our team -- and the Congress -- with that most valuable commodity, solid reliable information about abortion and its impact on America.

Mike Pence: For the Sake of Unborn Children, Donald Trump Has to Pick Judges Not Hillary Clinton

During a rally in Virginia over the weekend, pro-life vice-presidential running mate Mike Pence said voters need to support Donald Trump because the issue of the Supreme Court is too important to allow Hillary Clinton to win.

“For the sake of the sanctity of life, we must ensure Donald Trump selects the next Supreme Court justice,” Pence said.

Pence appeared at the rally with pro-life leader Marjorie Dannenfelser of the Susan B. Anthony List:

Recently, Trump released a well-received list of 11 potential Supreme Court nominees — a list pro-life groups hailed for having strong supporters of the Constitution. Trump also recently hired a key pro-life advocate has his domestic policy director.

If Trump is the nominee, he would present a stark contrast on abortion to pro-abortion Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Trump has specifically promised he would sign a bill as president to de-fund Planned Parenthood. In an interview with David Brody of CBN, Trump made that promise:

David Brody: “As a President Trump, if a bill came to your desk that would defund Planned Parenthood you would support that, you would sign that?”

Donald Trump: “Yes, because as long as they do the abortion I am not for funding Planned Parenthood… As long as they’re involved with abortion, as far as I’m concerned forget it, I wouldn’t fund them regardless. I would defund Planned Parenthood because of their view and the fact of their work on abortion…. I am for defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they are involved with abortion.”

As far as Trump’s comments on Planned Parenthood funding are concerned, Trump has fairly consistently said he opposes taxpayer funding but he’s also made some remarks about the “good things” Planned Parenthood does that have alarmed pro-life voters — as if any “good thing” could make up for the fact that planned Parenthood kills 330,000 unborn babies a year in abortions and then sells their body parts for profit.
