Next to Abortion Mill, Pregnancy Center Helping Moms Fall in Love with Their Babies via Ultrasound

By Jay Hobbs
National Right to Life

When Jessica saw her son, Jayden, for the first time via ultrasound in 2014, the “crisis” of her unplanned pregnancy took an immediate back seat. She had fallen in love, and there was no going back.

Working a full-time job and planning to start college the next semester, Jessica would have been an easy target for the abortion industry and its Duluth outpost—kitty-corner from Women’s Care Center. Instead, she’s now the mother of a 3-year-old and pursuing her newfound goal of working with babies in the medical field.

“The ultrasound made it so real,” Jessica said. “He kept moving his little arms like, ‘Hey, I’m here!’”
Adding a new, upgraded ultrasound machine this summer, Women’s Care Center is hoping the machine’s 4-D capabilities will help even more women like Jessica fall in love and choose life for their babies.

Jennifer Woodall, executive director for Women’s Care Center of Duluth, told reporters at a local Fox affiliate the donation was “an incredible blessing,” especially considering the need represented by Duluth’s poverty rate—which is 10 percent higher than the state’s average.

“Being able to offer this no matter what their financial background is or whether they have health insurance or not—it’s a way to give back to our community,” Woodall said.
The machine was donated by a local chapter of the Knights of Columbus, a Catholic fraternal organization that has raised over $36 million to place 752 ultrasound units at local pregnancy help medical clinics in all 50 U.S. states since 2009.

Located just across the street from the only abortion mill in Northern Minnesota, Women’s Care Center of Duluth is part of a 25-site group that serves in five Midwestern states.

Since opening its doors in March of 2013 the center has performed more than 800 free ultrasounds and reached over 1,500 individual clients just a matter of steps from an abortion business that claimed 398 preborn lives in 2015.

Mapi Cancelled Her Abortion After Finding Support at a Pregnancy Help Clinic

By Guest, Heartbeat International
Live Action News

In February 2007 I found myself in an unexpected pregnancy.

I was alone in this country trying to make it on my own. I was not married and I was not sure how the baby’s father was going to handle the news.

I went to a doctor and he told me that I was at a 90% risk of having a Down Syndrome baby because I was 35 years old. He recommended that I have an abortion. I felt all alone, desperate and all I could do was cry.

As I was driving home, I turned the radio on and there was a gentle voice answering questions at a Christian talk show. She was saying how this organization could help women with an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy. She said that Heartbeat of Miami Pregnancy Help Medical Clinics could help. I was not sure how they could help but I was desperate.

When I called the number, I spoke to Martha who told me that they could offer alternatives to women that did not want or could not have their baby. She asked to meet with me just to talk and share with me the options that I had.

I had already made an appointment with an abortion clinic but I decided to meet with Martha first. She arranged for me to have an ultrasound. That is when I saw my baby for the first time and heard her heartbeat. The ladies in the clinic treated me with much love, dignity and respect, never judging me and giving me the opportunity to see my baby.

They offered to help me with different resources and also a plan of adoption. They spoke about faith, about life. Even if my baby was indeed Down Syndrome, there were people willing to adopt her. At that very moment I knew I did not want an abortion. How could I end the life of my baby?

Baltimore Pregnancy Center to Save Babies Right Next Door to Busy Planned Parenthood

By Jay Hobbs
National Right to Life

It’s a strategic goal of most pro-life pregnancy centers to locate as closely as they can to an abortion provider, giving a woman considering abortion one last chance to make a choice for life.

So, when a sidewalk counselor praying in front of a large Planned Parenthood in downtown Baltimore noticed a “For Sale” sign on the office next door in January, he called Greater Baltimore Center for Pregnancy Concerns with an offer.

He would purchase the space outright, giving the center its fifth location—and first next door to an abortion business.

After a walk-through of the premises, however, the center did the unthinkable and turned down his offer. The price tag to renovate the three-story facility into anything remotely useful was too steep to move forward.

Two days later, another man called. He too was a volunteer sidewalk counselor in front of the Planned Parenthood, and, hearing that the center had turned down the first man’s proposal, he offered to cover the remaining costs.

Soon, a third man contacted Carol Clews, the organization’s executive director, volunteering his services as an architect at no cost.
“Out of a clear blue sky, God shot his lightning bolt right next door to Planned Parenthood,” Robert Gaines, the center’s director of development said. “It became clear after that second offer that God was on the move. And he absolutely wanted to place us there, so we reconsidered.”
With the office space in need of a full gut and remodel, Clews and Gaines say they hope to start serving clients by at least the end of 2017, adding to a current client load of 1,200 women each year.

At three stories, the space will be larger than what the center needs to serve its own clients, so the hope is to use the additional space to welcome in other tenants with complimentary missions that include adoption, post-abortive healing and community resources.

Hypothetically Speaking....

From a Facebook Friend

A mom, 4 children, married 13 years..... Her husband leaves with her best friend. The mom eventually has a boyfriend, gets pregnant and finds out she has cancer. No treatments can be done until the baby is born. (Note... She doesn't choose to kill this child but to carry it full term).

The worse happens. The boyfriend turns very abusive. As any good mother would do, she GETS OUT immediately to protect her children, including her unborn child.

She has no family within 1000 miles, no church. She works all night and then goes to her second job. All she leaves with is her car. No toys, clothes, furniture, etc... She just GETS AWAY.... And.... The only place she can go is to a homeless shelter.

She stays , and there are people that can watch the children.....occasionally.

For some reason she hears about a Pregnancy Crisis Center and goes in only to ask for some clothes for her children. Instead of handing her clothes and having her walk out. The counselor uncovers her story.

This is the first time the mom understands there are people that are willing to help her! She cannot seem to grasp WHY?....Who are these people? She is overwhelmed with emotion. She is HUMBLE ! She is appreciative ! She is...... Also exhausted !

No one has had a chance to "take her to church, tell her about Christ, read Bible verses to her, lecture her, judge her or give her a Bible".... YET....

She is SEEING the works of faith before her eyes.

Yes! Where would Faith be without Works?

The people helping her are only seeing the Face of Christ in her and her children.

This mom has done nothing wrong except possibly made a bad choice .... Wow! I do not know a single person who has not made a bad choice and regretted it. She has made MANY GOOD choices!!!!!

Now, she has a relationship with a new group of friends...Yes! Friends! In time she will know that it was never those who helped her as individuals ....but CHRIST who did it ALL ! Her children will know this also.

This is what being a Christian is !!!! This is what we are all called to do! We are nothing special, no heroes in this story, just God's children helping our brothers and sisters.

Next time you hear of, or see someone in need....don't stop and judge them and toss a Bible at them..... Uncover their story and do what is right!

You will be more blessed than the person needing the help.

There will be time to invite them to church, give them a bible, witness to them. They will be much more open when life has calmed down.

 Peace & Prayers!
