Landlord Kicks Out Planned Parenthood Abortion Business After 84 Years

A Planned Parenthood in Pennsylvania is looking for a new building after its landlord decided not to renew its lease next year.

For 84 years, the abortion chain has run a facility in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, according to the Citizens Voice. It rents from Kirby Health Center on Franklin Street.

However, the situation changed earlier this year when Planned Parenthood told Kirby that it may begin doing abortions at the Wilkes-Barre facility, PennLive reports. Until now, the facility only has offered abortion referrals.

Troubled by the news of abortions in their community, the Kirby Health Center Board recently decided not to renew Planned Parenthood’s lease in 2019, according to the reports.

The abortion giant now must look for another location.

Following the news, pro-life advocates and abortion activists both held protests Saturday in downtown Wilkes-Barre, the report states.

Abortion activists claimed Planned Parenthood is an essential women’s health care provider in their community, but pro-life advocates said there is nothing healthy about killing unborn babies.

“What the women of Wilkes-Barre need is compassionate, holistic care—not a cold-hearted offer to end the lives of their innocent babies,” said Maria V. Gallagher, legislative director of the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation.

Planned Parenthood aborts more unborn babies than any other group in Pennsylvania – about 42 per day, on average. Its facilities do not have a good safety reputation either. Research by the Pennsylvania Family Institute found that Planned Parenthood failed almost half of its state health inspections in the past year.

The abortion chain also is far from the only health care option for low-income women. Community health centers provide far more health services than Planned Parenthood — including vital services like prenatal care and mammograms, and they outnumber Planned Parenthood facilities by more than 20 to one in America.

Gallagher said empowering women with real health care and other means of support is where the true focus should be.

“Pregnant women need support for themselves and their children. We need to empower women—not leave them to grieve children lost to abortion,” she said.

Wilkes-Barre pro-life advocate Ada Magni said they have been praying for years that the Planned Parenthood facility would close.

“Thank God their lease has been revoked by the Kirby Health Center Board and we’re very grateful for that,” she told the local newspaper.

“They kill unborn babies,” Magni continued. “We don’t want an abortion clinic in Wilkes-Barre. We will continue to pray for the defunding of Planned Parenthood and for the closing of every abortion clinic in the nation.”

Many of you were in Harrisburg to witness the magnificent Stand Up for Life Rally in the Rotunda. Thanks to each one who travelled from all corners of Pennsylvania to lobby their legislators to Ban Dismemberment Abortions, and Defund Planned Parenthood. Both of these can be done - right now! The bills need to be moved, but each bill has support by massive majorities. The key is to get them to RUN.

The Dismemberment Ban (SB 3) can be moved from Chairman Matt Baker's Health Committee. Once it has been approved (it has enough votes in the committee), then Majority Leader Dave Reed needs to place it on the docket for a vote by the full House.

* This is the most expeditious way to get this bill passed. SB 3 has already passed the full Senate by a margin of 32-18. A similar bill passed in the House last year by a margin of 132-65. This time, we can get both chambers to pass the bill, and get it to the Governor. 

The House also has a bill (HB 77) which would ban dismemberment abortions, but once it passes in the House, it would still need to go to the Senate, and through committee, and then get a vote by the full Senate. The Budget is now taking most of the attention of all legislators. and time is short to accomplish passage of this bill.

Planned Parenthood Abortion Biz Closes First Clinic After Donald Trump Defeats Hillary Clinton

A Planned Parenthood facility in Scranton, Pennsylvania announced on Wednesday its plans to close — just a day after Republican Donald Trump won the presidency.

The facility did not perform abortions, but it did refer patients for them. According to the Citizens Voice, Planned Parenthood plans to close its Scranton facility on Dec. 1.

Here’s more from the newspaper:

The organization made the “difficult strategic decision” to consolidate health services and close the Scranton center “after careful analysis of where our patients live and seek medical care as well as an assessment of how best to ensure the longevity and strength of existing medical centers,” she said.

Ms. Reed said the action will allow Planned Parenthood to focus its medical expertise on fast tracking the development of online health services with the goal of returning to the Scranton community in the fall of 2017.

The local Planned Parenthood leaders said the closure may be temporary, but the abortion chain faces a difficult road ahead after voters elected Republican majorities to the U.S. House and Senate, as well as a Republican president.

Right now, Planned Parenthood receives about half a billion taxpayer dollars every year, despite being the largest abortion provider in the U.S. and despite numerous scandals involving potentially illegal sales of aborted babies’ body parts, possible Medicaid fraud and failures to report sexual abuse of minors. The tax money Planned Parenthood receives is not supposed to be used for abortions, but evidence indicates that some of its abortion facilities are.

This March for Life has continued to gain increased participation over the last four years and its success is due to faithful Catholics who recognize that abortion is not only about the number of innocent human lives destroyed but also the direct consequences upon our culture, our families, and our Christianity.

As Catholics committed to the Sanctity of Life the goal of the March for Life is to bring awareness to the LIFE issues in our community. We want to awaken and challenge the public to the fact that abortion destroys both the baby and the future within our families and marriages. We demonstrate by our public witness that we are a people willing to LOVE, SUPPORT, and CARE for those who have been affected by abortion. As Catholics we need to help, not judge, those in the most trying of circumstances.

To quote St. John Paul II..."It is impossible to further the common good without acknowledging and defending the Right to Life, upon which all the other inalienable rights of individuals are founded and from which they develop."

We face a common enemy today...it is the Culture of Death. The Sanctity of Human Life has been replaced with a disposable mindset. We are called at this crucial hour to be the voice of the voiceless, our brothers and sisters in the womb have no other voices but ours to defend them.

This will be a peaceful, prayerful, witness to our community that ALL LIFE IS SACRED. We pray that this March will spark a fire in the hearts of all those who observe our public demonstration and that this spark will result in a fire of LOVE for our unborn brothers and sisters in the womb.

Over the last four years combined, thousands of local faithful in the Reading vicinity have joined in this March to promote LIFE. However, this year we are making a concerted effort to encourage the faithful from across Philadelphia, Harrisburg and Allentown to participate.

Abortion will end in our lifetime only when it is recognized for what it is; it is the ultimate destruction and death of a precious soul - a baby, it is the denial of our humanity and our direct connection to eternity through God, it is the destruction of the family and the trust and faith between man and woman, it is a fracture of society and governance, it truly is the beginning of the end unless WE PRAY TOGETHER for a true spiritual awakening in our families, cities and nation. We must strive to encourage each other to provide love, support and care - to become those faithful actions for the cause of Christ's precious unborn, and ultimately for the sake of all the world.
