Abortion Activists Wore White at SOTU to Celebrate Suffragists, But Early Feminists Were Pro-Life

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

Pro-abortion politicians made sure they were noticed during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address on Tuesday by wearing all white to the event.

Supposedly, the white worn by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and others symbolized the early suffragettes and their tireless advocacy for women’s rights.

“Nearly 100 years after women earned the right to vote, more than 100 women are serving in Congress,” Florida Congresswoman Val Demings wrote on Twitter.
“Tonight the @HouseDemWomen are wearing suffragette white to remind the president that we—and the rights our ancestors fought for—aren’t going anywhere.”
Their not-so-subtle statement really appeared to be about the president’s pro-life policies, not women’s rights, however. Democrats often conflate abortion with women’s rights.

But the interesting thing about their all-white protest is that the pro-abortion politicians do not appear to know their history. As LifeNews pointed out Tuesday evening, the early suffragettes were unashamedly pro-life.

Tonight, pro-abortion members of Congress are wearing all white, supposedly to represent the early women suffragists.

They just forgot one thing...

Susan B. Anthony and the early feminist leaders were pro-life. http://bit.ly/2JHh3Dp

The first-wave feminists took the opposite position on abortion to many feminists today. Suffragette Alice Paul, who was instrumental in campaigning for women’s right to vote, described abortion as “the ultimate exploitation of women.”

Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton also took a firm stand for unborn babies by refusing to publish ads for abortion in their newspaper, “The Revolution.” They also ran a number of articles and editorials against abortion.

Dozens of Catholic Members of Congress are Abortion Activists, Here’s a List

By Bill Donohue
Life News

The 163 Catholics in the new Congress are split on abortion: almost all Republicans are pro-life and almost all Democrats are abortion-rights advocates.

For incumbents, we checked their voting record as scored by NARAL and National Right to Life. Typically, those who received a 100% NARAL score garnered a 0% rating from National Right to Life (which would be most Democrats), and vice versa (which would be most Republicans).

For Freshmen, we checked their stated positions on abortion, and the endorsements they received from pro-life and abortion-rights groups.

There were a few notable exceptions. Among them are Rep. Daniel Lipinski, a Democrat from Illinois: he received a 51% rating from NARAL and a 75% score from National Right to Life.

More Republicans than Democrats differed with the majority in their own party.

For example, Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska agreed with NARAL 42% of the time, and with National Right to Life 28% of the time. Sen. Susan Collins of Maine received a 45% score from NARAL and a 42% score from National Right to Life. Rep. Walter B. Jones of North Carolina garnered a score of 51% from NARAL and a rating of 85% from National Right to Life.

It is obvious that religion is not a reliable predictor of the way a Catholic member of the Congress will vote on abortion. Party matters—not religion.

Abortion Activists Campaign for Twitter to Censor Pro-Life Accounts

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

A pro-abortion advocacy group is urging Twitter to censor pro-lifers, including prominent pro-life female leaders who are dedicated to exposing the horrific truth of the abortion industry.

Reproaction, a pro-abortion activist group, recently launched a petition calling on the social media site to censor pro-life content, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Specifically, the pro-abortion group attacked a situation involving leading pro-life Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee. In 2017, Blackburn, who is running for U.S. Senate, tried to run an ad on Twitter about her leadership in the investigation of Planned Parenthood and its baby body parts harvesting practices. Twitter blocked the ad because of Blackburn’s use of the term “baby body parts,” but public outcry prompted the site to reverse its decision.

“Stop bending to the will of anti-abortion leaders who seek to spread lies and misinformation,” the Reproaction petition reads. “Stop the spread of pro-life lies.”
According to the report:

The controversy led a Twitter official to apologize to Blackburn during a July House Judiciary Committee hearing on social media bias.

Reproaction said the company was wrong to apologize to the Republican congresswoman. It wants social media sites to apply the ban on Blackburn to other pro-life arguments and activists. Ads like Blackburn’s should be purged from Twitter as “dangerous rhetoric” prohibited under the site’s ban on “ads making misleading or deceptive claims,” according to Reproaction.

… Reproaction did not return requests for comment about the petition and how many supporters it had received. The group paid Twitter to promote a Tweet advertising the campaign.

The pro-abortion group, whose mission includes “increasing abortion access,” claims pro-life groups “outright lie about abortion” in their Twitter ads. It claims the social media site’s decision to reinstate Blackburn’s ad violates its policy against “misleading or deceptive claims.”

The petition isn’t surprising. For decades, abortion activists have been trying to censor and silence pro-life advocates in myriad ways. From buffer zones and social media campaigns to blame games and threats, vandalism and other violence, pro-abortion groups and individuals have been trying to keep pro-lifers from speaking the truth about unborn babies and the violence of abortion.

Abortion Activists Sue Trump Admin Program to Protect Doctors, Nurses From Being Forced to Do Abortions

By Lauretta Brown
Life News

The Center for Reproductive Rights and the National Women’s Law Center filed a lawsuit against the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Thursday after they received no response to a January Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for information about the new HHS Office for Civil Rights (OCR) Conscience and Religious Freedom division.

The groups are seeking information about how the new division operates, how it allocates resources, whether its decision-making is influenced by outside groups, and why it was needed in the first place.

When the division was first announced, HHS explained that it “has been established to restore federal enforcement of our nation’s laws that protect the fundamental and unalienable rights of conscience and religious freedom.”

OCR Director Roger Severino cited the past under-enforcement of federal conscience protection statutes, such as the Church, Coats-Snowe, and Weldon Amendments.

“These protections have been under-enforced in the past and that has led to certain consequences,” he said at the time.
“If you under enforce a statute you should not be surprised if entities start testing it,” he commented, adding that, for these sorts of complaints, courts have said there’s no private right of action, meaning the only recourse is to OCR.
Members of Congress later cited specific instances of discrimination that pointed to the need for such a division.

However, the liberal groups are demanding a “full accounting” of the new division, claiming that the Trump administration has shown “hostility to reproductive health and rights.”

Maya Rupert, Senior Director, Policy and Managing Director with the Center for Reproductive Rights, said that “the Trump-Pence administration has repeatedly and unconstitutionally misused the concept of religious liberty to deny essential reproductive health services and embolden those who want to discriminate. Given this administration’s open hostility to reproductive health and rights, LGBTQ rights, and access to health care for everyone in this country, the public deserves a full accounting of the new division and how it has been using its enforcement powers.”

“This administration is prioritizing religious beliefs over patients’ access to care. It’s a perversion of HHS’ mission that cannot be ignored, “Gretchen Borchelt, NWLC Vice President for Reproductive Rights and Health said. “We’re filing this lawsuit to force the Trump-Pence administration to justify why it’s using resources to fund discrimination, rather than to protect patients.”

Abortion Activists: No, Unborn Babies Don’t Feel Pain in Dismemberment Abortions

By Father Frank Pavone
Life News

Of all the indefensible claims made by abortionists, there are some that apparently even they can’t bring themselves to take seriously — or argue in court.

Take, for example, the abortion lobby’s allegations against the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a law now being enforced in 15 states and with a national version set to come up for a vote in the House of Representatives next week.

The measure has been on the books since Nebraska passed the first such law in 2010, protecting from abortion any unborn babies old enough to feel the pain of having their arms and legs ripped from their bodies. Yet, while major abortion profiteers and their enablers verbalize opposition to the legislation year after year, they remain all talk and no lawsuit.
That’s because those who sit atop abortion’s carnage realize that there are some aspects of their trade that are so gruesome, so repulsive, that even they can’t spin them away with vague euphemisms. In their eyes, it’s better to keep such matters hidden in darkness.
That’s why the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, developed by the National Right to Life Committee, presents problems for the abortion industry — it makes facing the reality of abortion unavoidable. If the law were brought into court, two inescapable facts would come to the public’s attention: that aborted babies are people with arms, legs, and faces, not “clumps of cells”; and that these children suffer horrible pain when their appendages are wrenched from their bodies.

When pain-capable unborn child protection bills do come up in state legislatures, as they have in the last year when Ohio and Kentucky adopted them, abortion promoters oppose the measures with a couple of suppositions. First, they believe that 20-week-old unborn babies don’t really suffer when dismembered; second, that the Supreme Court would find any bill protecting any babies before the 24th week of life to be unconstitutional.
In other words, abortion promoters say that if you’re in doubt about whether children in the womb go through agony as their bodies are crushed and torn, err on the side of cruelty. And even if these boys and girls go through unspeakable pain, the abortion lobby believes that the Supreme Court will say that such suffering is simply the collateral damage of “reproductive freedom.”

Abortion Activists OK With Killing Kids in Abortions But Don’t Want Kids to Protest Abortion

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

Abortion activists will twist and spin any topic to their advantage, including teaching children to stand up for the most vulnerable in today’s society.

A new Huffington Post piece criticized pro-lifers for bringing their children to marches and sidewalks outside of abortion clinics.

One abortion activist who spoke to the liberal news outlet went so far as to describe it as “religious and emotional abuse” to take a child or teenager to a pro-life event.

According to the report:

… children all over the country are party to anti-abortion protests at the behest of their parents and their parents’ religious groups. According to patients and clinic staffers that spoke to HuffPost, this participation sometimes crosses the line from simply attending a protest to engaging in harassment.

One volunteer clinic escort based in Atlanta, Karen, told HuffPost that at the clinic she volunteers at, she’s seen an increase in this kind of harassment since the 2016 election.
“Since the election, we have a group from Abolish Human Abortion (AHA) and they often bring at least one little girl to participate in holding giant signs and speaking into the wireless-amplified megaphone,” Karen said. “The little girl will read from the Bible or from an AHA script. It’s clear [these girls] have no real understanding of what they are reading.”
Karen recalled an incident in which one of these young girls looked at her and called her “evil.”
“With direct eye-contact she asked me, ‘Why are you doing this? Why do you want to make money off of murdering babies? Do you know you are evil? Do you know you will burn in hell?’” Karen told HuffPost. “It’s chilling to see young children used this way … I’ve seen babies being carried as props, and toddlers tagging along as props with the AHA group.”
And of course, abortion activists found a way to justify taking their own children to events like the pro-abortion Women’s March on Washington, D.C.

Steven Meyers, a clinical psychologist and professor of psychology at Roosevelt University in Chicago, claimed that children are ok participating in pro-abortion protests because they are very different from pro-life ones.

Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, and Baptist Pastors Lead Rally for Abortion

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

Most leaders in Judeo-Christian faiths believe scripture teaches that all human lives are valuable and deserving of protection. But there are some who stray from the teaching and promote abortion.

A group of New York state clergy members recently advocated for abortion at the state capital, Christian News Network reports.

Together, abortion activists who identify as Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopalian, Baptist, Unitarian and Jewish urged New York state lawmakers to support abortion and Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion chain in the United States, according to the report.

“As pastors, we believe in New Yorkers’ ability to get the health care that is supported by their religious teachings and personal beliefs,” director Dennis Ross, a Reformed Jewish rabbi, told the Legislative Gazette. “People of all faiths believe in safe and legal abortion, access to contraception and sex education, and we know Planned Parenthood is an essential healthcare provider.”
Sara Hutchinson Ratcliff of the group Catholics for Choice, which is not affiliated with the Catholic Church, also participated in the event in Albany.
“Regardless of what the Catholic bishops may tell policymakers, the great majority of the faithful in the Catholic church disagree with our hierarchy about issues of abortion, contraception, and where and how the proper role of religious voices in public policy should be,” Ratcliff said.
It’s disturbing to see these clergy members putting their time and effort into supporting the multi-million dollar abortion industry and the destruction of unborn babies’ lives when they could be helping women and babies who so desperately need their support.

Judeo-Christian faiths teach their followers to protect and defend the most vulnerable people, even when it is not easy. Babies in the womb are some of the most discriminated against and violated human beings in our culture today. Every year in the United States, nearly 1 million unborn babies are aborted, and their mothers and fathers often are left wounded and grieving.

Guatemala on Dutch Abortion Ship: We Will Defend "Human Life and the Laws of Our Country"

A guard confronts abortion activists from
Women on Waves. Reuters/Luis Echeverria.

By Society for the Protection
of Unborn Children

The Guatemalan army has blocked Women on Waves' attempts to give out abortion pills from a ship, in circumvention of the country's laws.
"The military will not permit this group to carry out its activities in the country," read a formal complaint to the prosecutor's office. The Army said it had been instructed by President Jimmy Morales to act, and would defend "human life and the laws of our country" by preventing the group from carrying out abortions.
A vessel was dispatched to watch the ship and to prevent activists going ashore and women from boarding. The group had planned to pick up five women at a time by dinghy and take them to the ship waiting outside Guatemalan waters. They aimed get around Guatemala's abortion laws by administering drugs in international waters.

Women on Waves said in a statement that their ship was being "detained" illegally by the military, which it accused of "obstructing a lawful protest against the state's restrictions on the Guatemalan women's right to safe abortion."

"The boat of death has arrived in Guatemala"

The arrival of the Dutch ship sparked protests from politicians and Christian groups, and a press conference by the abortion activists was disrupted.
"They say they are fighting for life and human rights, but it looks like murder has become a human right," said a protesting seminary student. "The boat of death has arrived in Guatemala," lawmaker Raul Romero said during a Congress session on Wednesday.

Abortion Activists Will March on Washington in January to Declare Abortion a “Human Right”

Blogger's comment:

A society will be judged on how it protected its most vulnerable members. If an unborn baby, the most innocent and helpless, is not safe within the shelter of its mother's womb, then no one is safe. Human genocide is the natural progression and becomes inevitable.

It's clear that Planned Parenthood and those who believe abortion is a 'human right' will be judged as the most evil and abhorent in all human history.

The Women’s March on Washington, sponsored by the pro-abortion National Organization of Women, will be held on January 21, 2017 to bring together abortion activists from around the country. This march intends to affirm abortion and women’s rights as “human rights,” a National Organization of Women’s press release announced this week.

The march comes in response to President-elect Donald Trump’s stunning victory over pro-abortion candidate Hillary Clinton, who anticipated victory, the liberal news site Voxreports. The pro-abortion march was a social media brainchild, with 100,000-plus people reportedly planning to attend, based on Facebook.

“There is no better place for us to deliver this message than Washington, D.C. on the first day of the new administration,” NOW said in a statement. “NOW stands in unwavering solidarity with our sisters whose communities have been insulted, demonized and threatened in recent months, including … those who seek–and the caring professionals who provide–safe, affordable abortion care and birth control.”
According to Vox, the protest is not for or against any particular candidate, but about establishing “women’s rights as human rights.” But by rights, they mean abortion, and their pro-abortion position is a clear contrast to Trump and his administration, who have promised to support new protections for unborn babies and a defunding bill to stop taxpayer dollars from going to the nation’s largest abortion chain, Planned Parenthood.
