Trump Gives Incredible Pro-Life, Pro-God Speech in Poland

“We value the dignity of every human life, protect the rights of every person, and share the hope of every soul to live in freedom.”

By Fr. Mark Hodges
Life Site News

Enthusiastic Poles interrupted U.S. President Donald Trump’s well-received speech several times on Thursday with chants of “Donald Trump! Donald Trump!”

In Europe for the Group of 20 economic summit of world leaders, Trump first stopped in Warsaw to strengthen the already friendly alliance between his country and Poland. “America is eager to expand our partnership with you,” Trump said.

He addressed more than 15,000 Poles in attendance at historic Krasinski Square in front of a monument commemorating the 1944 Warsaw Uprising during Nazi occupation in World War II.
“Poland is the geographic heart of Europe. But more importantly, in the Polish people, we see the soul of Europe,” the president said in the highly acclaimed speech. “Your nation is great because your spirit is great and your spirit is strong.”
Poles came from throughout the country to see Trump. “We are here from our own convictions and belief,” Stanislaw Niesyn, who traveled 170 miles for the occasion, told the Associated Press.

Trump noted the historic ties between the two nations. “Polish heroes and American patriots fought side by side in our War of Independence and in many wars that followed,” he said. “Our soldiers still serve together today in Afghanistan and Iraq, combating the enemies of all civilization.”
“The signs of this friendship stand in our nation’s capital. Just steps from the White House, we’ve raised statues of men with names like Pulaski and Kosciuszko,” Trump pointed out. “The same is true in Warsaw, where street signs carry the name of George Washington and a monument stands to one of the world’s greatest heroes, Ronald Reagan.”
At that point, thousands in attendance began shouting “Donald Trump! Donald Trump!”

New York Times Laments That “Abortion Rights” Are “Rolling Back After Donald Trump’s Election”

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life

There are about four clarion calls a week issued by the editorial board of the New York Times to rouse fellow pro-abortionists. The latest call to beat back the Huns (a.k.a. pro-lifer legislators) appeared this week under the headline, “Rolling Back Abortion Rights After Donald Trump’s Election.”

The editorial is almost entirely about Ohio where Gov. John Kasich this week signed SB 127, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, and vetoed H.B. 493, commonly known as the Heartbeat Bill. H.B. 493 would ban abortions once the baby’s heartbeat is detected.

Pro-life President-elect Donald Trump was mentioned because the Ohio laws are “part of a dangerous nationwide effort to roll back abortion rights that has gained momentum with Donald Trump’s election.”

Dangerous? To the Abortion Industry, sure. “Gained momentum” because of Mr. Trump’s victory? You betcha.

The key paragraph in the editorial is the following:

Two 20-week bans have been struck down in federal courts as unconstitutional. But abortion opponents in Ohio believe the new law will withstand legal challenges, perhaps even at the Supreme Court.
Robert Cupp, a Republican state representative, says he thinks the court will be swayed by medical advances allowing more very premature babies to survive. A victory at the Supreme Court could open the door for a federal 20-week ban, which was introduced last year but blocked by Senate Democrats.

Donald Trump Gets an A+ So Far on Critical Pro-Life Appointments That Matter to Unborn Children

By Eric Scheidler
Life News

During the Republican primary, Donald Trump wasn’t the first choice for most pro-life voters. He was a recent convert to the pro-life position, and never appeared comfortable talking about the subject of abortion. Meanwhile, among his opponents were recognized pro-life champions who brought both eloquence and an impressive track record on the pro-life issue to the race.

That skepticism remained during the general election, even if the vast majority of pro-life voters cast their ballots for Trump. The urgency of defeating radical abortion advocate Hillary Clinton was clear. But would Trump really follow through on such promises as appointing a pro-life replacement for Antonin Scalia or defunding Planned Parenthood?

I was less skeptical than many about Trump’s conversion to the pro-life position. I noticed something interesting in the notorious 1999 Meet the Press interview in which Trump called himself “pro-choice in every respect.”

Despite stating his support for legal abortion, even partial birth abortion, Trump simply did not talk about it the way that a “true believer” would. He said the topic of abortion makes him “cringe” and declared, “I hate everything it stands for.” So I was cautiously optimistic that Trump really had come over to the pro-life side, which his instincts had been pointing him toward all along.

And now that we’re a few weeks into the President-elect’s transition, we’re seeing some encouraging signs that Trump will, indeed, be good for the pro-life cause. I would point to three things in particular that give me reason to believe our work defending the lives of unborn children will be more successful under President Trump.

First, I was extremely encouraged by Trump’s 60 Minutes interview. Though he moderated his position on some issues—like whether he would seek to prosecute Hillary Clinton—he stayed firm on his intention to appoint pro-life justices to the Supreme Court.

In fact, Trump went farther than any previous Republican candidate or President-elect, stating outright that he wanted to appoint justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade.

Christian leaders see influence growing under Trump

'If he fulfills the promises he’s made, he could be the most pro-life president since Reagan,' one social conservative said of Trump

By Katie Glueck
Politico

Social conservatives got Donald Trump into the White House. Now, they expect him to deliver.

In conversations on Capitol Hill, donor meetings in Texas and behind closed doors at the Ritz-Carlton in McLean, Virginia, socially conservative leaders are cheering Trump’s election and already moving to hold him accountable to the myriad campaign promises he made to Christian voters.

“Donald Trump is not the candidate pro-lifers would have chosen, and he understood that, and he did outreach,” said Tom McClusky, vice president of government affairs at the anti-abortion rights group March for Life. McClusky, who has been critical of Trump in the past, continued, “If he fulfills the promises he’s made, he could be the most pro-life president since Reagan.”
Trump, a thrice-married, onetime New York liberal who has said he has never asked God for forgiveness, was an uncomfortable fit for Christian leaders throughout much of the campaign. But he won over many of them with a pledge to appoint only Supreme Court justices who oppose abortion rights, and he solidified that support in September by releasing a detailed letter that spelled out four policy promises, all tied to curtailing abortion rights. He went on to win 81 percent of the evangelical vote, a higher percentage than George W. Bush, himself a born-again Christian, landed in 2004.

Some of Trump’s pledges, particularly the stipulations concerning Supreme Court appointments, go further than previous Republican nominees have made, and that has earned Trump a reservoir of goodwill with many evangelical leaders. They say they have every reason to believe—and expect—that he will follow through on those promises. After all, evangelicals were a key part of Trump’s coalition—and, they argue, he knows it.

“The good news is, it’s not ‘us’ and ‘them,’ it’s just ‘us,’” agreed Marjorie Dannenfelser, the head of the anti-abortion rights group Susan B. Anthony List, in a conversation between donor visits in Texas. “I remember four years ago, hearing ‘elections have consequences,’ and being deeply troubled and annoyed. Now, I’m saying the same thing. We have every reason to be celebrating.”

Trump tells 60 Minutes “I’m Pro-Life” and His Supreme Court Nominees “Will be Pro-Life”

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life

As we’ve talked about for months at NRL News Today, the Media Elite did everything in its power to defeat pro-life Donald Trump. Their guttersnipe attacks have only intensified now–against all their confident assurances to the contrary–that the American electorate chose him to be our 45th President.

As the next phase of that strategy–embarrassingly, transparently obvious–is to attempt to dislodge the coalition that elected Trump by announcing that he is already reneging. With one exception: abortion and pro-lifers.

There the New York Times et al. take Trump at face value. After 60 Minutes aired a typically hostile Leslie Stahl interview yesterday, it would be impossible to argue Trump is attempting to distance himself from the strong pro-life views he espoused during the campaign.

That’s why you get this New York Times headline: “Donald Trump Appears to Soften Stance on Immigration, but Not on Abortion.” Here’s the first paragraph of Julie Hirschfeld Davis’ story.

Donald Trump: “I’m Looking to Appoint Judges Very Much in the Mold of Justice Scalia”

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

When it comes to the direction of the Supreme Court on the issue of abortion there is probably no more important issue for pro-life voters this election. In looking at that direction there is no greater difference between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

As LifeNews has reported tonight, Hillary Clinton wants Supreme Court judges who will uphold Roe v. Wade — which allowed for virtually unlimited abortions throughout pregnancy across the United States. On the other hand, Donald Trump said tonight he wants judges in the mold of pro-life Justice Antonin Scalia who recently passed away.

Here’s more about what Donald Trump had to say concerning the Supreme Court and possible nominees for it:

"Justice Scalia, great judge, died recently, and we have a vacancy. I am looking to appoint judges very much in the mold of Justice Scalia. I’m looking for judges, and I’ve actually picked 20 of them, so that people would see, highly respected, highly thought of and actually very beautifully reviewed by just about everybody. But people that will respect the Constitution of the United States, and I think that this is so important."

Last month, Trump released a second list of potential Supreme Court judges he would appoint if he is elected president. A first list Trump released earlier this year went over well with pro-life voters and had the kind of possible Supreme Court judges pro-life groups would welcome.

Donald Trump Announces Leaders of Pro-life Coalition to Expose Hillary Clinton on Abortion

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump today announced the leaders of the new pro-life coalition dedicated to helping him expose the radical pro-abortion position of Hillary Clinton.

The new Coalition of pro-life leaders reads like a who’s who of the pro-life movement with people like Marjorie Dannenfelser, Gary Bauer, Sam Brownback, Alveda King, Father Frank Pavone, Tony Perkins and many others who have been spearheading pro-life efforts for decades. These pro-life leaders all believe Donald Trump will govern as a pro-life president if elected in November.

These co-chairs head the newly created Pro-life Coalition in support of the Trump-Pence ticket. Last week, in a letter made public by Susan B. Anthony List, Trump announced the creation of the coalition and asked pro-life leaders for their support. In the letter, Trump also outlined four pro-life policy commitments.

“National co-chairs of the coalition will communicate Mr. Trump’s pro-life commitments to people in their sphere of influence, speak out in support of the Trump-Pence ticket and, most importantly, recruit state co-chairs for the coalition who will in turn drive the campaign’s pro-life message out to each individual voter,” explained Marjorie Dannenfelser, Chairman of the Pro-life Coalition.
“Every vote counts. The policies outlined by Mr. Trump are not only important to pro-life base voters, but they appeal to a majority of Americans who oppose Hillary Clinton’s plan to make taxpayers pay for even late-term abortion-on-demand.”
Dannenfelser says Donald J. Trump is committed to:
  • Nominating pro-life justices to the U.S. Supreme Court.
  • Signing into law the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would end painful late-term abortions nationwide.
  • Defunding Planned Parenthood as long as they continue to perform abortions and reallocating their funding to community health centers that provide comprehensive health care for women.
  • Making the Hyde Amendment permanent law to protect taxpayers from having to pay for abortions.
The Hyde Amendment is longstanding, bipartisan policy to protect the conscience rights of taxpayers by stopping taxpayer funding of elective abortions. Hillary Clinton has pledged to rescind the Hyde Amendment. For the first time, the Party Platform ratified by Democrats this summer explicitly calls for the repeal of this policy.

Hobby Lobby CEO: Christians Will Lose Their Religious Freedom if Donald Trump Isn’t Elected

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

David Green knows first-hand how much Americans’ religious freedoms are in jeopardy.

In 2014, the Christian CEO of the craft store chain Hobby Lobby was forced to go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court to find relief from the Obamacare HHS Mandate, which required him to pay for abortion-causing drugs and devices in his employee health insurance plans.

Green wrote a column published in USA Today on Thursday explaining why Donald Trump “is our only hope” for the future of religious freedom. He pointed out how so much is at stake involving the U.S. Supreme Court. The next president could have the opportunity to nominate up to four justices and sway the court’s decisions for years to come.

Green wrote, “… Donald Trump has been steadfast in expressing his commitment to uphold the Constitution, and his list of possible Supreme Court nominees inspires confidence that there is hope in my future — and in my grandchildren’s future — for a country that will value those most fundamental rights.”

However, that power in the hands of pro-abortion Democrat Hillary Clinton could bring an end to religious freedom in the U.S., Green wrote. His own religious freedoms were protected by a narrow majority two years ago.

Green explained:

Fortunately, the Supreme Court issued a 5-4 ruling in favor of Hobby Lobby in 2014, but it’s frightening to think that we — and all Americans — were just one judge away from losing our religious freedom.
Make no mistake, the vacancy left by Justice Scalia and the subsequent appointment to fill his seat makes this presidential election one of the most significant in modern times. During a 2015 speech at the Women in the World Summit, Hillary Clinton declared that religious beliefs “have to be changed.”
What I fear she really means is that the beliefs of people of faith across our nation will be discounted, and those people will be forced to violate their conscience under her presidency — a philosophy that would be carried out by anyone she nominates for the Supreme Court.
… Clinton has made no secret she believes government interests supersede the protection of religious liberty.
