German Man Who Survived Late-Term Abortion in 1997 Passes Away

Their experience with Tim turned the Guidos into pro-life activists, campaigning against late-term abortion and the use of pre-natal tests to allow abortions.

For those Germans with long memories, the “Oldenburg baby” is the earliest and most famous case of a “failed” abortion. Twenty-one years after he was supposed to die from a late-term abortion, Bernhard and Simone Guido’s adopted son Tim passed away suddenly after suffering from a lung infection, according to the German news outlet Die Welt.

In a statement on their website, the parents said Tim had spent a “wonderful Christmas” at home with his family. “We are very sad and don’t yet know how we should come to terms with the loss of our son who was unique, full of life and joy.”

In 1997, in her 20th week of pregnancy, Tim’s biological mother discovered her son had Down syndrome. “German abortion rules limit terminations to the first 13 weeks, except in cases when the mother feels – for health or psychological reasons – unable to carry the baby to term,” the Irish Times reported.

The abortionist assumed that delivering Tim that early meant he could not possibly survive, which is why he didn’t inject potassium chloride into Tim’s heart.

But Tim did!

“Born weighing just 690g (1½lbs), nurses wrapped him in a towel, where he spent the first nine hours of his life alone,” Derek Scally reported. After that, realising he was still alive, doctors and nurses began to provide him with medical care.”

Born so prematurely and untreated for nine hours, “Tim suffered from other medical conditions,” the Irish Times reported. “He was autistic, could barely speak and underwent many operations during his life.” But Tim lived to be 21, not one or two years as was predicted.

Bernhard and Simone Guido had applied to be foster parents. In a book Simone Guido wrote about their life with Tim, she said, “It was supposed to be a healthy girl.” But Tim’s biological mother and father declined to keep him.

And seeing him in the hospital in 1997, Simone Guido wrote, was like love at first sight: “We immediately thought: he belongs with us.”

Showing what kind of people the Guidos were, “As well as Tim and their two own children, the Guidos fostered two further children with Down syndrome.”

Their experience with Tim turned the Guidos into pro-life activists, campaigning against late-term abortion and the use of pre-natal tests to allow abortions.

You Can Help Close This Abortion Clinic That Kills Babies in Abortions Up to Birth

In Bethesda, Maryland, there stands a non-descript multi-floor medical office building on busy Old Georgetown Road. Passersby likely give it a second thought – although perhaps they should.

One of the more recent tenants in the Wildwood Medical Center happens to be late-term abortionist LeRoy Carhart and his AbortionClinics.org (ACO) facility. It is one of a handful of abortion facilities that openly abort babies throughout all nine months of pregnancy.

Now Operation Rescue is trying to persuade ACO’s landlord to terminate the abortion facility’s lease.

Carhart’s abortion business drew attention just a couple of weeks ago when it lost its waste disposal company, Biomedical Waste Services, which picked up the remains of aborted babies at Carhart’s office – some known to be as old as 31 weeks gestation – thanks to a public campaign launched by Operation Rescue.

“As far as we can tell, Carhart still has not been able to sign on with another waste disposal company. Who knows what he is doing with the remains of babies he aborts? It is likely that the amount of human tissue being stored in his office could pose a health hazard to everyone in the building,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

The building is operated by Aubinoe Management Company. Since Carhart moved in last October, local pro-life activists have tried to convince the company’s president, Alvin “Tripp” Aubinoe, III, to terminate its agreement with Carhart and force him out of the building.

Now with the biohazard threat that ACO must pose, Aubinoe has the perfect excuse to get rid of Carhart’s notoriously unpopular abortion facility.

According to pro-life activist Missy Smith, who has canvassed the 40+ offices that share the building with Carhart’s grisly abortion business, most of the other tenants – primarily dentists and orthodontists who see a lot of children – would like to see Carhart go. They have complained that they are losing business due to the presence of the late-term abortion facility.

“It is our understanding that Carhart’s lease agreements with the Aubinoe Management Company could easily be terminated for cause in light of suspected ongoing biohazard issues and lost business suffered by his other tenants,” said Newman. “Aubinoe also has plans invest a large amount of money in an expansion the office complex at that location. But who would willingly lease office space next to a troubled late-term abortion business? He stands to lose a lot of money as long as Carhart remains one of his tenants.”

Maryland is one of the few states that allow abortions with no gestational limit. If Carhart’s ACO abortion business was asked to leave the Bethesda location, it may be some time before he can find another facility to lease – if ever.

“Imagine how many lives would be spared if Carhart was forced to shut down in Bethesda and could not get another office in Maryland! Imagine how many women would be safe from his well-known sloppy abortion practices,” said Newman. “By just by making a phone call, pro-life supporters could possibly close down Carhart’s very late-term abortion business, perhaps even permanently.”

Operation Rescue is asking pro-life supporters to contact Tripp Aubinoe and the Aubinoe Management Company and respectfully ask them to terminate the Carhart/AbortionClinic.org lease immediately.

A Late-Term Abortion Killed This Teen. It Took 13 Years to Release the 911 Call.

He [Leroy Carhart] has never been held accountable for his crimes, and continues to traffic in late-term abortion.

Notorious abortionist LeRoy Carhart, who made headlines for the death of Jennifer Morbelli, whose uterus he ruptured after he committed a late-term abortion on her. There was widespread grief and outrage over Morbelli’s death, but she wasn’t the first patient he killed — and this death went almost entirely unnoticed.

Christin Gilbert was a young woman with Down syndrome, a Special Olympian who loved sports, especially softball, in which she earned a gold medal. In 2004, Gilbert was sexually assaulted, and became pregnant. Her parents took her to Women’s Health Care Services in Wichita, Kansas: George Tiller’s abortion facility, where LeRoy Carhart was working as an abortionist.

In 2005, Gilbert went to see Carhart, who began the late-term abortion by delivering a fatal shot of digoxin to the heart of her baby. He inserted laminaria into her cervix, and sent Gilbert and her family to a hotel to wait. The next day, on their way back to the abortion facility, Gilbert delivered the body of her dead baby in the van.

Carhart then performed a dilation and curettage, or D&C, on her. But Carhart wasn’t finished. He then administered RU-486, which is not approved for use during a late-term abortion, and sent Gilbert and her family on their way again. Gilbert quickly began to deteriorate; she had become septic, but at the abortion facility, staffers shrugged off her condition and sent the family away again. 

By evening, Gilbert was vomiting, fainting, and bleeding. Cathy Reavis, an unlicensed “nurse,” came to the hotel to assist Gilbert, but merely placed her into a warm bath. Carhart was called, but he never bothered coming to help his patient.

The next morning, Gilbert fainted. The family took her back to the abortion facility, as they likely were instructed to do. Gilbert woke up, but then fainted again.

During this time, the abortion staffers called 911. And in a major breach of ethics, they refused to tell EMS personnel what the nature of the emergency was. Instead, they delayed on the phone, keeping the 911 operator on hold for 45 seconds. This led paramedics to believe there was no urgency to the situation.

The chilling 911 tape has now, 13 years later, been released.

Pro-Life Nurse Forced to Assist Late-Term Abortion Will be Speaker Paul Ryan’s State of the Union Guest

“Laws protecting religious freedom and conscience rights are just empty words on paper if they aren’t enforced."

Speaker Paul Ryan has chosen a pro-life guest to sit in the Congressional chamber during tonight’s State of the Union Address.

Ryan’s guest is a pro-life nurse who was forced to assist in am late-term abortion. Her presence will help spotlight the important conscience rights issues that medical professionals face who don’t want to be forced to be involved at abortions. It also highlights the recent actions president Donald Trump took to provide additional legal protection for such pro-life doctors and nurses.

In 2009, while working at a hospital in New York, nurse Cathy Cenzon-DeCarlo was forced to assist with a late-term abortion. Though she objected on grounds of violating her religious beliefs, the hospital threatened disciplinary action if she did not participate. After a years-long legal battle and an investigation led by the Department of Health and Human Services, the hospital eventually changed its policy to ensure medical personnel are not forced to participate in abortions.

Now, Cathy is an outspoken advocate on behalf of other medical personnel who are faced with the same unjust dilemma.

“No one should be forced to violate their religious beliefs—especially in the workplace,” said Speaker Ryan. “Not only did Cathy stick up for her faith, but she did so while fighting for the unborn. It’s wrong that Cathy and so many others have been intimidated into assisting with abortions, which is why the Trump administration’s expanded conscience protections are a welcomed change. As a staunch defender of religious liberty, I was very moved by Cathy’s story—I am delighted she’s attending tonight’s address.”

President George W Bush first issued conscience protections for pro-life doctors and other medical workers who did not want to participate in abortions. But President Barack Obama rescinded those protections and created a situation where pro-life medical workers and others who don’t want to be involved in abortions are pressured to do so.

Then, earlier this month, Trump pushed forward with a new effort to protect doctors and healthcare workers from being forced or pressured to perform abortions. The division will protect anyone who has a “moral objection” to involvement in an abortion because it kills an unborn child before birth.

“President Trump promised the American people that his administration would vigorously uphold the rights of conscience and religious freedom,” HHS Acting Secretary Eric Hargan said in a release.  

“That promise is being kept today. The Founding Fathers knew that a nation that respects conscience rights is more diverse and more free, and OCR’s new division will help make that vision a reality.”

Woman Who Survived an Abortion at 8 Months Finds Her Birthmother

Melissa Ohden has learned the truth about her unique birth in bits and pieces across several decades.

Ohden survived a late-term saline abortion and was adopted three months later into a loving home. Last year, after four decades, she and her birth mother met for the first time.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Ohden explained how she gradually learned about the circumstances of her mother’s abortion and her birth.

It began when she was 14 and in an argument with her sister. Ohden learned that she had been adopted after surviving a botched abortion. She said the news was difficult for her to process, especially the idea that her mother did not want her and tried to have her killed before she was born.

When she was 19, she said she decided to start looking for her birth parents anyway. Here’s more from the report:

She pored over phonebooks, newspapers on microfiche, and year books at the library, not knowing her birth mother’s name but looking for someone who looked like herself.

She also put an advert in the local newspaper appealing for anyone with information to come forward, but to no avail.

After years of futile hunting, Melissa came across a startling lead when she was 30.

‘I knew my maternal grandparents’ surname and where they had been employed, so that was a big piece of the puzzle,’ she said.

‘I was flicking through a nursing college year book when I came across a woman I suspected was my grandmother. I still didn’t know at this stage her full role in what happened

She sent them a letter, but only her grandfather wrote back.

‘He said my live birth was not the intention the day I was born. He also made it clear I wouldn’t find my birth mother through them because they were estranged from her.

‘It was evident their relationship with my mother was never the same after my birth. I couldn’t put my finger on it but I knew then something sinister had gone on.’

Later, Ohden learned that her grandparents basically had forced her mother to have the abortion. Her mother was about eight-months pregnant with Ohden, though doctors at the time of the abortion estimated she was about 20 weeks along.

Alabama Governor Signs Bill to Ban Dismemberment Abortions Tearing Babies Limb From Limb

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley today signed legislation to ban dismemberment abortions — making it the 5th state to ban the grisly abortion procedure. The law follows on the heels of states like Kansas and Oklahoma as well as Mississippi and Louisiana — where bans have are been approved or are advancing through the legislature.

Dismemberment abortion, performed on a fully-formed, living unborn baby, is a barbaric and dangerous procedure in which the unborn child is literally ripped apart in the womb and pulled out in pieces. The law embodies model legislation from the National Right to Life Committee that would ban “dismemberment abortion,” using forceps, clamps, scissors or similar instruments on a living unborn baby to remove him or her from the womb in pieces. Such instruments are used in dilation and evacuation procedures.

Mississippi was the latest state to approve legislation that would ban dismemberment abortions when earlier this month, pro-life Governor Phil Bryant signed the bill into law.

“Dismemberment abortion kills a baby by tearing her apart limb from limb,” said National Right to Life Director of State Legislation Mary Spaulding Balch, J.D. “Before the first trimester ends, the unborn child has a beating heart, brain waves, and every organ system in place. Dismemberment abortions occur after the baby has reached these milestones.”

But would such an abortion ban be constitutional given the Roe v. Wade decision? The group points to the high court’s ruling in the partial-birth abortion case as grounds for banning dismemberment abortions too.
