A pro-abortion group in Ireland has returned funds equaling $25,000 USD (€23,460) to the Open Society Foundation (owned by billionaire pro-abortion donor George Soros) after being warned by the Republic’s Standards in Public Office (SIPO) that the donation “violated Irish law prohibiting the donation of over €100 from foreign sources for domestic political purposes.”
The Abortion Rights Campaign stated that the grant “was received to fund educational and stigma-busting projects.” The group, along with two other pro-abortion groups in Ireland, came under fire last year for accepting funding from George Soros’ organization in an effort to repeal the country’s 8th Amendment, which protects the lives of preborn children. Pro-lifers viewed the acceptance of large donations from foreign donors as “a gross interference” and “an attack on democracy.”
A spokesperson for the Abortion Rights Campaign told Irish Central that the group’s emphasis is “on advocating for reproductive rights while striving to lift the stigma surrounding abortion in Ireland. Every cent we receive goes back into the movement towards choice, change and destigmatizing abortion in Ireland.”
Billionaire George Soros is no stranger to funding pro-abortion groups and other activism. Last year, Live Action News’ Carole Novielli reported that Soros and his family are among the top donors to Planned Parenthood’s political action group, Planned Parenthood Votes.

Wealthy abortion backers could use Ireland as a model to change pro-life laws in other Catholic countries, an apparent leaked three-year plan for George Soros’ Open Society Foundations suggests.
“With one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the world, a win there could impact other strongly Catholic countries in Europe, such as Poland, and provide much needed proof that change is possible, even in highly conservative places,” the document says.
It also cites support for pro-abortion efforts in Mexico, Zambia, Nigeria, and Tanzania, and other parts of Latin America and Europe. The document particularly targets constitutional protections for the right-to-life from conception.
The New York-based Open Society Foundations’ proposed 2016-2019 strategy for its Women’s Rights Program appears to be among the documents published by the website DCLeaks.com.
The website claims the documents are from the globally influential foundations begun by billionaire financier George Soros. In 2015 Forbes magazine estimated Soros’ net wealth at $24.5 billion, ranking him the sixteenth wealthiest man in the U.S.
One of the program’s three themes is enabling access to legal abortion, including through efforts to repeal Ireland’s Eighth Amendment to its constitution.
The amendment, passed by voters in 1983, acknowledges “the right to life of the unborn and, with due regard to the equal right to life of the mother, guarantees in its laws to respect, and, as far as practicable, by its laws to defend and vindicate that right.”
The Open Society Foundations’ apparent strategy proposal says that it will fund the Abortion Rights Campaign, Amnesty International Ireland, and the Irish Family Planning Association “to work collectively on a campaign to repeal Ireland’s constitutional amendment granting equal rights to an implanted embryo as the pregnant woman (referred to as ‘fetal personhood’).”

So far this year, Planned Parenthood’s political action organization, Planned Parenthood Votes, has received $10,119,855 in individual donations for 2016 political campaigning, according to a summary published by Open Secrets. A search conducted on October 11, 2016, revealed that billionaire George Soros and his family members were among Planned Parenthood’s top political donors:

• Jennifer Allan Soros gave Planned Parenthood Votes $1,000,000
• Jonathan Soros gave Planned Parenthood Votes $1,000,000 as well as $250,000 in 2012

George Soros, whose net worth is $24.9 billion, promised to spend $13 million to support Democrats in the 2016 presidential race. He is among Planned Parenthood’s biggest donors. Soros listed his place of employment as the Soros Fund Management when he donated $1,500,000 in 2016 to Planned Parenthood Votes. According to Bloomberg, Soros Fund Management LLC is a “privately owned family office” which “invests in the public equity and fixed income markets across the globe.”

HOLLYWOOD, August 23, 2016 (LifeSiteNews) - Pro-life activists are being lambasted for pointing out that the number of Americans killed by abortion is greater than setting off one or more nuclear devices.
Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life told “The Drew Mariani Show” last week that the toll inflicted by abortion has been devastating. “It’s like several atomic bombs have already gone off on our own soil when it comes to just the sheer numbers,” he said.
Audio of the Catholic radio program is included in an article highlighted on the website of Right-Wing Watch, a project of People for the American Way. PAW was co-founded by Hollywood producer Norman Lear and funded by George Soros.
Fr. Pavone’s remark came after televangelist Jim Bakker made similar statements last week. “If an atomic bomb had dropped on America, it wouldn’t do any more damage than what abortion has done,” Bakker said.
The website, which is dedicated to presenting conservatives’ arguments in the most damning light possible, ran an article about Bakker’s statements yesterday.

As usual, the pro-abortion movement’s “point-and-sputter” mode of “response” ignores a simple question: Are they right?
As it turns out, the truth is not especially friendly to the abortion lobby, Hollywood, or Soros-funded entities generally.

Abortion activists are planning a march in Ireland this weekend to demand that the nation legalize abortion on demand and stop protecting unborn babies.
However, most of the support for the pro-abortion campaign appears to be coming from outside the country and not its own citizens.
Strong evidence suggests that American billionaire George Soros is using his fortune to push Ireland to legalize abortion. In a column for Eurasia Review this week, William Donohue pointed out that Soros gave money to three of the pro-abortion groups that are promoting the “March for Choice” in Dublin and about 20 other cities this weekend.
Donohue said Soros’s Open Society Foundations funds Amnesty International Ireland, the Abortion Rights Campaign and the Irish Family Planning Association, all of which are involved the effort to repeal Ireland’s Eighth Amendment, which protects the right to life for unborn babies.
Abortion activists expect as many as 20,000 people at the pro-abortion marches this weekend, the Irish Times reports. Dublin is the location for the main march, but organizers told the newspaper that 20 events will be occurring globally in solidarity with abortion activists in Ireland.
Forbes ranks Soros as the 23rd richest person in the world. He is a regular major donor to pro-abortion and pro-euthanasia groups. Soros is just one source of anti-life groups’ funding. Warren Buffett, the third richest in the world, also is a major donor to pro-abortion causes, as is Bill Gates, who ranks first, and Mark Zuckerberg, who ranks sixth.
