Court Drops Bogus Charges Against David Daleiden for Exposing Planned Parenthood Baby Part Sales

The expose’ videos catching Planned Parenthood officials selling the body parts of aborted babies have shocked the nation.

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

A court has dropped some of the bogus charges against pro-life advocate David Daleiden, who exposed the sales of body parts from aborted babies at Planned Parenthood abortion clinics and throughout the abortion industry.

The National Abortion Federation (NAF) dismissed seven out of eleven claims on Friday against Daleiden and his organization, the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), in court on Friday. In 2015, NAF sued David and CMP after they began releasing undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s trafficking of baby body parts. Buying and selling fetal tissue is illegal under federal law.

Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund attorney Charles LiMandri said NAF successfully obtained a “gag order” from the court preventing Daleiden and CMP, during the course of litigation, from releasing the undercover videos recorded at NAF abortion conferences. Although dropping seven of the charges is a positive step, by dismissing the seven claims NAF is trying to speed up the case so it can secure a permanent gag order against David and CMP, which would block the release of the videos regardless of the case’s outcome, he said.
“NAF’s latest litigation maneuvering shows that this case has only ever been about one thing—an unconstitutional silencing of a pro-life hero. As the Trump Administration continues its investigation of NAF’s gruesome actions, we expect their lawyers to do everything they can to permanently silence David. After all, NAF realizes just as much as we do that criminal indictments for many of NAF’s members are only a matter of time,” LiMandri said in a statement.
NAF’s remaining claims accuse David and CMP of fraudulent misrepresentation, promissory fraud, breach of contract, and civil conspiracy. For instance, NAF complains that David broke the law because he allegedly violated the purported confidentiality agreements he signed at NAF’s annual conference.

LiMandri said: “NAF is using these purported confidentiality agreements to hide their criminal deeds. But the public has a right to know about the true nature of the abortion industry. We hope that as this case moves forward, the court concludes that NAF’s remaining claims are meritless.”

FCDF attorneys and co-counsel at the Thomas More Society will be filing a motion to dismiss NAF’s remaining claims.

LiMandri added: “Seven down; four to go.”

Daleiden tweeted the good news late Monday from his Twitter account.
Over the weekend @PPact proxies @NatAbortionFed DROPPED all their bogus accusations of RICO, fraud, illegal video, etc against me! Now all they have left is a few bogus contract disputes. NAF is just mad that my undercover team were better Exhibitors than their regular members!
The gag order that the 9th Circuit placed on the Center for Medical Progress is unconstitutional based on past Supreme Court decisions, according to Daleiden’s attorneys. The Supreme Court previously decided that such gag orders and other forms of prior restraint are “the most serious and least tolerable infringement on First Amendment rights.” It also ruled that prior restraint is particularly harmful “when the prior restraint falls upon the communication of news and commentary on current events.”

David Daleiden Wants Pro-Planned Parenthood Judge Removed Who Censored Videos Exposing Baby Part Sales

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

Attorneys for undercover investigator David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress filed a motion in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals this week, asking the court to reassign a lawsuit abortion activists filed against him for exposing the abortion industry’s sale of aborted baby parts to a judge not connected to Planned Parenthood.

U.S. District Judge William Orrick blocked Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress from releasing some of their undercover footage in 2015 after the National Abortion Federation filed a lawsuit. When a new undercover video was released online after the order, Orrick ordered that it be removed and said he would consider holding Daleiden in contempt.

Previously, Daleiden and his attorneys asked that Orrick recuse himself from the case because of a pro-abortion bias. They discovered that Orrick has had a long relationship with an group that partners with Planned Parenthood, and his wife publicly supported abortion online. Because that didn’t happen, they took their case to the appeals court.

The Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund and the Thomas More Society, which are defending David and CMP, argue that evidence shows that Judge Orrick’s relationship with Planned Parenthood explains his wholesale adoption of NAF’s and Planned Parenthood’s since-disproved theory that CMP’s investigative journalism led to widespread vigilante vandalism against them. Even though that theory has been proven false—and even repudiated by Planned Parenthood—Judge Orrick has stood by it, showing that assigning a new judge is necessary to “preserve the appearance of justice.”

In comments to LifeNews, Charles LiMandri, FCDF’s chief counsel and lead attorney for David and CMP, said: “Judge Orrick is an ardent supporter of abortion and Planned Parenthood, and he and his spouse have shown open hostility to David. Allowing a biased judge to preside over this case is a grave injustice.”

Evidence of Judge Orrick’s bias includes sitting on the Board of a family planning clinic that partners with Planned Parenthood and allowing his wife to use his image to demonize David and CMP on social media, likening them to “extremists” who incite “domestic terrorism.” Orrick is a former board member of the Good Samaritan Family Resource Center in San Francisco, which has a close partnership to Planned Parenthood.

While Orrick was secretary of the board, the organization “embedded a Planned Parenthood clinic inside its premises, and lists among its ‘key partnerships’ … Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific …” according to the request.

The Planned Parenthood affiliate also is a member of the National Abortion Federation, the plaintiff in the case, according to the court document.

Daleiden’s attorneys said Orrick did not disclose that he was a board member at the time the partnership began, or that he later served as an emeritus board member. They also brought up Orrick’s wife’s public comments online that support Planned Parenthood and criticize Daleiden.

LiMandri said: “Even the slightest hint that the judge favors one party over another will forever taint the public’s perception of the fairness of his ruling. This is especially so because the outcome of this case will have an enormous impact on the abortion debate.”

NAF has until July 26, 2018, to respond to David and CMP’s motion.

Supreme Court Will Decide Whether David Daleiden Can Release More Videos Exposing Planned Parenthood

By Indya Rennie
Life News

The U.S. Supreme Court may take up undercover journalist David Daleiden’s case against the National Abortion Federation, his attorneys announced Thursday. In an email, the Thomas More Society said the high court plans to meet March 29 to discuss whether to review Daleiden’s appeal of the 9th Circuit Court gag order.

“This is HUGE news,” the attorneys said.

Daleiden was sued by the National Abortion Federation for releasing undercover videos that exposed Planned Parenthood’s trafficking of fetal body parts. Judge William Orrick and the 9th Circuit Court issued a gag order prohibiting Daleiden and his organization, the Center for Medical Progress, from releasing additional footage, Life News previously reported.

Life Legal Defense Foundation appealed, and petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to review the 9th Circuit Court decision.

In November 2017, the Supreme Court expressed interest in the case when it asked for additional information from the National Abortion Federation. Now, it has confirmed its interest by scheduling its conference meeting for March 29 to decide whether to review the case.

The Thomas More Society, which represented Daleiden in a similar lawsuit against California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, described their urgent need to prepare.
“We have two short weeks to make sure our attorneys are ready to go if the justices give the green light,” Thomas More Society President and Chief Council Tom Brejcha wrote in an email.

Judge William Orrick, however, ruled that because Daleiden signed a required non-disclosure agreement with the National Abortion Federation, he relinquished his First Amendment free speech rights. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals agreed.

This action was unprecedented; Katie Short, Life Legal’s Vice President of Legal Affairs, pointed out that this is the first time a federal appeals court maintained a gag order, even if it is agreed to by the parties involved, if the exposure of the information in question is in the public’s interest.

Daleiden Requests Removal of Judge from Undercover Video Case Due to His Ties to Planned Parenthood

David Daleiden, Center for Medical Progress

Town Hall

David Daleiden and the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) announced Wednesday that they are filing a new motion in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to request the removal of Judge William Orrick in the lawsuit brought against them by Planned Parenthood, pointing to his ties to Planned Parenthood.

According to Daleiden’s petition, Judge Orrick has "an ongoing and longstanding professional relationship with one of the named Plaintiffs.” Orrick is a founder and officer of the Good Samaritan Family Resource Center (GSFRC), an organization that partners with Planned Parenthood and had a Planned Parenthood clinic incorporated on its premises while Orrick served as secretary and counsel to the organization.

      Judge William Orrick
The petition also cites the use of Orrick’s image by his wife in Facebook posts to “endorse inflammatory public statements about the disputed facts of this case – statements that denigrated the principal Defendant in the harshest terms, while lauding Plaintiffs.”

Orrick’s wife used his image in a post that referred to CMP’s undercover videos, allegedly exposing Planned Parenthood’s illegal trafficking in fetal tissue, as “domestic terrorism.”
"Judge Orrick is part of the Planned Parenthood family," Daleiden told reporters on a press call Wednesday.
Daleiden and his lawyers say Orrick and his wife assisted in getting a Planned Parenthood clinic at GSFRC while they served there.
"Judge Orrick's image has been deployed repeatedly online in support of terrible statements referring to the CMP videos as 'domestic terrorism,' literally 'domestic terrorism,'" said Peter Breen of the Thomas More Society, the pro-life legal group representing Daleiden and CMP.
Daleiden petitioned the Supreme Court in August to remove a gag order that Judge Orrick issued barring CMP from releasing additional undercover footage.
“Judge Orrick’s gag order, issued at the behest of Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation, is an unprecedented attack on the First Amendment by a clearly biased federal judge,” Daleiden said at the time.
“Judge Orrick even wants to press his gag order in the California Attorney General’s bogus criminal case against me—though he, NAF, and Planned Parenthood insist the gag order only applies to my defense, and not to the Attorney General’s bogus prosecution.”
Daleiden previously filed a motion in June to Orrick’s state-level court seeking his removal but that motion was denied, so he is appealing the decision to the Ninth Circuit.

Collusion? Planned Parenthood Drafted “Video Tape Law” Aimed at Punishing Future Pro-Lifer Whistleblowers

The charges against the pro-life journalists were bumped up to felony counts, no doubt at Planned Parenthood’s request

By Cheryl Sullenger
Operation Rescue

[Note: This article has been edited as of June 4, 2017, to reflect corrections and additional information. Operation Rescue endeavors to be as accurate as possible, thus we regret anything in the previous version of this article that may have been misleading or inaccurate. -C.S.]

Sacramento, CA: A public records request made by Operation Rescue has yielded e-mails and other documents that show a close working relationship between Planned Parenthood and the California Attorney General’s office, especially when it comes to countering pro-life efforts.

Planned Parenthood attorneys often sought meetings and conference calls with members of the Attorney General’s Office to discuss a number of issues, including the “Video Tape Law,” HB 1671, which was used to criminally charge David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP).
“Planned Parenthood essentially wrote the language that criminalized Daleiden and Merritt’s recordings more than a year after they were made,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman, who also served as a founding member of the CMP. To clarify, if the recordings had been made after January 1, 2017, they could have been charged under Planned Parenthood’s new, tougher law.
“Planned Parenthood wanted to punish the CMP for exposing their appalling and illegal sale of aborted baby tissue and organs, so they concocted a law that made [future] recordings illegal. [Even so,] David and Sandra’s criminal charges are the result of the State of California aiding and abetting Planned Parenthood’s vendetta against those who blew the whistle on their ghoulish conduct.”
In fact, a draft of amendments to an existing recording law was submitted on March 8, 2016, by Beth Parker, Chief Legal Counsel to Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California to Jill Habig, who then served as Special Counsel to Attorney General Kamala Harris.

Planned Parenthood’s suggested amendments made it a crime to secretly record health care providers and mandated that anyone who “aids, agrees with, employs, or conspires with any person or persons to unlawfully do, permit, or cause to be done” surreptitious recordings would face fines of $2,500 per occurrence and imprisonment not exceeding one year, if convicted.

The following day, March 9, 2016, Planned Parenthood’s Parker visited Habig’s office to discuss the draft amendments, including any potential obstacles to the law.

On March 16, just five days later, Parker submitted a rewrite of the bill that showed slight edits in the original draft. For example, “agrees with” was stricken from the language that discussed criminal culpability for those who conspired in making secret recordings.

While the final text of the legislation was fine-tuned over the following weeks, it included all the points that Planned Parenthood had requested. The newly edited law was signed by Gov. Jerry Brown on September 30, 2016, after last-minute language was inserted to specifically exclude news organizations, which had complained about the bill. The law went into effect on January 1, 2017.

Judge Fines Daleiden $200,000 for Posting of Undercover Planned Parenthood Videos

By Lauretta Brown
Townhall

U.S. District Court Judge William Orrick charged David Daleiden and his attorneys about $200,000 in fines for releasing undercover videos from a National Abortion Federation conference which the judge had barred from release.

Orrick held Daleiden in contempt of court in July after his attorneys posted the undercover videos to their website.

Matthew Geragos, who is representing Daleiden’s attorneys, Steve Cooley and Brentford Ferreira, argued at the time that the lawyers didn’t think they were bound by the injunction in the civil case, and posted links to the videos in order to find witnesses who could support Daleiden’s defense.

The judge fined the defendants $195,359.04, less than the roughly $287,482.00 that the National Abortion Federation requested.

“In setting this amount, I have considered the magnitude of ‘the harm threatened by continued contumacy, and the probable effectiveness of any suggested sanction in bringing about the result desired,’” Orrick wrote.

“NAF’s counsel have not justified their requested rates in reference to fee awards in other cases or with affidavits demonstrating that the requested rates are reasonable for similarly situated attorneys in similar practice areas,” he added.
“Obviously any lowering of the amount is appreciated except for the fact that the injunction is still in place and has a chilling effect on criminal defense counsel,” Geragos said of the decision.
Ferreira on Monday called the federal judge’s contempt order “an unprecedented infringement on a state criminal case.”
Daleiden said that the fine was an unconscionable attack on his rights to defend himself. Geragos told the Associated Press that he is appealing.

Pro-Life Movement Expects Win After San Francisco Hearing On Undercover Videos

By Grace Carr
The Daily Caller

The man responsible for the undercover videos of Planned Parenthood negotiations on the harvesting and selling of aborted baby parts indicated he is encouraged by what looks to likely be a pro-life win for his case in the San Francisco Superior Court.

The Thursday hearing addressed the 15 criminal charges filed by the California Attorney General’s office against David Daleiden – project leader at the Center for Medical Progress – who secretly filmed his attempts to purchase fetal tissue from Planned Parenthood officials in a series of undercover videos.

The AG argues that Daleiden violated California’s recording law, but Daleiden’s defense maintained that the undercover journalists had committed no wrong because the video recordings were made in open, public areas.

Daleiden’s defense attorney, Brent Ferreira, said Thursday that abortion advocates have been waging “a multifaceted attack” aimed at shutting down Daleiden’s message, but that Daleiden and his team continue to win and they “remain confident in a victory for the pro-life moment.”
Daleiden has already beat criminal charges in Texas and recently beat down 9th Circuit Court of Appeals charges in the state of Washington. The abortion industry usually wins, “they just crush people” Ferreira said.

David Daleiden Fights Judge’s Order Stopping Release of More Videos Exposing Planned Parenthood

By Tom Ciesielka
Life News

Attorneys from the Thomas More Society joined their co-defense counsel in filing an appeal with the United States Supreme Court asking the Court to hear the case of David Daleiden, the 28-year old undercover journalist who exposed Planned Parenthood’s involvement in the commercial trafficking of aborted babies’ body parts and to overturn a court imposed gag order that barred Daleiden from releasing hundreds of hours of still more videos; videos whose contents were both politically embarrassing and incriminating for Planned Parenthood and other abortionists.

The National Abortion Federation had filed suit in July, 2015, to bar Daleiden from releasing his undercover videos taken at National Abortion Federation 2014 and 2015 annual conventions. Judge William Orrick granted an “emergency” gag order suppressing the videotapes, and later he entered a preliminary injunction extending the gag order indefinitely, through trial of the case – an injunction that the Ninth Circuit U.S.

Court of Appeals in San Francisco affirmed, although one judge on the three-judge panel dissented from that part of the lower court’s order that forbade Daleiden from releasing the videos to law enforcement without first getting the federal court’s permission to do so after first consulting with National Abortion Federation.

Thomas More Society attorneys Tom Brejcha, Peter Breen, Matt Heffron, and Sarah Pitlyk helped to craft the appeal, along with co-defense counsel, and they have been representing Daleiden in both the National Abortion Federation civil suit, filed under the Federal Racketeering Law, another Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations suit filed by Planned Parenthood and various affiliates, and in criminal felony prosecutions filed both in Houston, Texas, (finally dismissed a year ago) and in San Francisco Criminal Court.

The opinion issued by the lower court, which entered the gag order, had conceded that:
“There is no doubt that members of the public have a serious and passionate interest in the debate over abortion rights and the right to life, and thus in the contents of defendants’ recordings”.
“I fully recognize that there is strong public interest on the issue of abortion on both sides of that debate, and that members of the public therefore have an interest in accessing the National Abortion Federation materials. I also recognize that this case impinges on defendants’ rights to speech and the public’s equally important interest in hearing that speech.”
Nonetheless, U.S. District Judge Orrick issued a gag order, ruling that release of the videos would risk violent retaliation against abortion providers – despite a total lack of evidence that Daleiden ever advocated, let alone perpetrated violence. Indeed, David’s pro-life activism arises from his deep aversion to the infliction of physical violence against any human beings.

Judge Fines David Daleiden $137,000 for Exposing Planned Parenthood Selling Aborted Baby Parts

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

Yesterday Judge William Orrick held David Daleiden, the Center for Medical Progress, and two of David’s criminal defense attorneys in civil contempt for violating a court order prohibiting the release of video footage related to NAF conferences and related meetings. The footage was posted to a private website in May.

Orrick said Daleiden’s lawyers published undercover video footage of a National Abortion Federation meeting in violation of a court order.

“Criminal defense counsel … do not get to decide whether they can violate the preliminary injunction,” Orrick said Tuesday in court.

Daleiden’s criminal defense attorneys argued that the videos are essential to providing David with a robust public defense after California Attorney General Xavier Beccera charged Daleiden and Sandra Merritt with 15 felony counts of eavesdropping.

The first set of charges were dismissed by San Francisco Superior Court Judge Christopher Hite in the criminal case for lack of specificity. Beccera recently amended and refiled the charges, this time including the file names of certain videos. However, the charges still do not name the individuals involved in the conversations during which Planned Parenthood doctors and other abortionists discuss the sale of fetal body parts for profit.

Judge Orrick’s contempt order awards approximately $137,000 to the National Abortion Federation for attorney fees and for alleged staff time to scour the internet looking for links to the Daleiden videos.

On a positive note, Judge Hite was receptive to arguments that the amended charges against Susan Merritt were not properly filed. An update will follow as soon as we know whether these charges will be dismissed.

“As always, the abortion cartel is furious that its trade in baby body parts and its willingness to violate laws that protect preborn babies from gruesome abortion procedures are being exposed,” said Life Legal Defense Foundation Executive Director Alexandra Snyder.
“Since the first video release two years ago, they have been waging a vicious campaign to punish-and permanently silence-our client.”

Abortion Activist Re-Files Bogus Charges Against David Daleiden for Exposing Planned Parenthood

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

Undercover investigator David Daleiden is facing a new set of charges from California prosecutors this week for his undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood’s dealings in aborted baby body parts.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra filed charges against Daleiden and fellow investigator Sandra Merritt in March, alleging that they illegally recorded private conversations without people’s consent.

In June, however, the San Francisco Superior Court dismissed all but one charge, saying the attorney general’s office did not provide sufficient information. The court gave Becerra’s office the opportunity to refile the charges with more specific information, and Becerra did just that this week, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Here’s more from the report:

Last month, Superior Court Judge Christopher Hite dismissed the charges, saying prosecutors had failed to specify which video recordings were made illegally. He refused, however, to dismiss a charge that the pair conspired to violate privacy rights.

Becerra’s office has now refiled the charges, with numerical identifications for each video. Prosecutors say they have given defense lawyers the names of each person whose conversation was recorded, under court orders to keep the names confidential.

Daleiden and Merritt are scheduled to be arraigned on the charges July 17. Their lawyers have not said whether they will challenge the newly filed charges and did not respond to requests for comment Thursday.

Liberty Counsel, which represents Merritt, argued that the criminal complaint for illegally recording supposedly “private” conversations (in restaurants, hotel lobbies and other public places) – the first ever filed against undercover journalists – was legally deficient for numerous reasons, not the least of which was the attorney general’s decision to prosecute Merritt in secret proceedings, without identifying even the names of her accusers or purported “victims.”

The legal group said the complaint did not provide Merritt with the minimum notice required by the Constitution and California law as to what she supposedly did wrong, so that she can mount a proper and vigorous defense. The complaint was also vague and full of inconsistencies.

AG Becerra is a Democrat who has received campaign donations from Planned Parenthood.

California Attorney General Vows to Reinstate Charges Against Center for Medical Progress Investigators

By Cassy Fiano
Live Action News

In March, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra filed 15 felony charges of invasion of privacy against Center for Medical Progress investigators David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt. Becerra accused them of using “manufactured identities and a fictitious bioresearch company to meet women’s healthcare providers and covertly record the private discussions they initiated.”

“The right to privacy is a cornerstone of California’s Constitution, and a right that is foundational in a free democratic society,” Becerra said. “We will not tolerate the criminal recording of confidential conversations.”

Then, last month, federal judge William Orrick (an Obama donor with connections to Planned Parenthood) threatened to hold Daleiden and Merritt in contempt after their attorneys released another video, despite an injunction having been filed against videos featuring the National Abortion Federation.
But this week, news broke that a state judge had ruled in favor of Daleiden and Merritt, granting “most of defendant Daleiden’s and Merritt’s demurrer motions, knocking out the 14 recording charges until the CA AG amends their complaint” and had “also denied the AG’s request for contempt sanctions against David’s defense counsel, and agreed Judge Orrick’s federal gag order in the civil lawsuit should not prevent defendants from using the videos in our defense.”
This evidently did not deter Becerra, who has responded to the news by vowing to reinstate the felony charges against Daleiden and Merritt anyway. Superior Court Judge Christopher Hite ruled that the charges were too vague and were “legally insufficient,” saying that the state “must specify each of the 14 recordings that were allegedly made without consent.” Becerra’s office released a statement saying that they had been given 10 days to specify the recordings each charge was based on.

‘I Need 4 Intact Limbs’: Planned Parenthood Abortionists Describe Beheading, Ripping Apart Babies to Sell Body Parts

"Let’s just give them all the violence, it’s a person, it’s killing,
let’s just give them all that."

By Chris Chretien
Life Site News

The Center for Medical Progress (CMP) has released video footage from the National Abortion Federation (NAF) conference during which abortionists admit they work they do is "killing," complain about how "difficult" it is to tear apart a fetus, and lament that they’re not given a place to discuss the "heads that get stuck that we can’t get out."

A judge’s gag order prevented this footage from being released for over a year. NAF took CMP to court over the footage. Some of this footage was previously leaked by Got News, but this is the first time CMP has publicly released it with subtitles.

Update: The YouTube video was removed with a message stating that it violated YouTube's terms of service.

CMP leader David Daleiden faced arraignment on May 3 for 15 felonies the California Attorney General is charging him with.

The video's release comes just after Steve Cooley and Associates (SCA), former Los Angeles County District Attorney Steve Cooley, and former Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Brentford J. Ferreira announced they are are defending Daleiden and have launched a new webpage for people to track the case's progress.
"Every video recording for which the Attorney General is charging David was obviously and unquestionably made in a public place where it could not possibly be considered 'confidential,'" said Ferreira.
"The only difference between David’s conduct and that of undercover video journalists every day in the state of California is the fact that he recorded the political backers of the state’s top prosecutor."
The video is a compilation of extremely candid comments abortionists and Planned Parenthood executives made about decapitating babies and selling their livers, heads, and limbs.
"An eyeball … fell down into my lap, and that is gross!" exclaimed Dr. Uta Landy, the founder of Planned Parenthood’s Consortium of Abortion Providers (CAPS). Landy was a speaker at the NAF conference. The audience laughed.
Dr. Lisa Harris, the Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of Michigan, noted, "Our stories don’t really have a place in a lot of pro-choice discourse and rhetoric, right?"
"The heads that get stuck that we can’t get out. The hemorrhages that we manage. You know, those are all parts of our experience," she said. "But, there’s no real good place for us to share those."
Harris suggested granting pro-lifers many of the arguments they make in opposition to abortion.
"Given that we actually see the fetus the same way, and given that we might both actually agree that there’s violence in here, ask me why I come to work everyday," said Harris. "Let’s just give them all the violence, it’s a person, it’s killing, let’s just give them all that."

Pro-life Investigators Charged with 15 Felonies for Exposing Planned Parenthood Baby Parts Sales

By Claire Chretien
Life Site News

The state of California charged pro-life investigators David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) with 15 crimes Tuesday.

CMP's undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood executives haggling over the prices of aborted baby body parts spurred a Congressional investigation and calls for the abortion company to be stripped of its federal tax dollars.
"These bogus charges from Planned Parenthood's political cronies are fake news," said Daleiden in a statement to LifeSiteNews. "They tried the same collusion with corrupt officials in Houston, TX and both the charges and the DA were thrown out."
"The public knows the real criminals are Planned Parenthood and their business partners like StemExpress and DV Biologics—currently being prosecuted in Orange County—who have harvested and sold aborted baby body parts for profit for years in direct violation of state and federal law. I look forward to showing the entire world what is on our yet-unreleased video tapes of Planned Parenthood’s criminal baby body parts enterprise.

In January, a Congressional panel made numerous criminal referrals against Planned Parenthood. Meanwhile, the Orange County District Attorney is pursuing legal action against two companies intimately involved in the collection of fetal body parts. A Congressional panel determined one of these companies, StemExpress, was in contempt of Congress last year after it refused to comply with its investigation.

CMP's investigation showed footage of Planned Parenthood workers picking through the body parts of aborted babies in a tray, admitting they alter abortion procedures to obtain more "intact" body parts, and discussing how baby body parts are "just a matter of line items."

Pro-abortion politicians and the abortion lobby have attempted to silence the CMP journalists. Daleiden and Merritt were charged with a felony for using false indentification to enter a Planned Parenthood in Texas. In July 2016, these charges were dropped.

California Allows Animal Rights Activists to Release Secretly-Recorded Undercover Videos, But Not Pro-Lifers

By David French
Life News

It’s becoming increasingly clear that in the state of California, the right to abort a child is the chief liberty in the land, and all other liberties must bow before it. Few things illustrate this sad and morbid truth more than the decision of the California attorney general to prosecute (or, more accurately, persecute) David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt.

Yesterday California charged Daleiden and Merrit with a whopping 15 felony counts based on their undercover videos — released through the Center for Medical Progress — showing Planned Parenthood officials discussing, among other things, harvesting and possibly even selling the organs of aborted babies. The heart of the indictment (14 of the 15 counts) is the claim that Daleiden and Merritt wrongly recorded alleged “confidential communications” between complete strangers at public conferences and at public restaurants.

California’s case not only fails on the merits, it reeks of selective prosecution. There is no shortage of examples of concealed-camera videos in California exposing scandalous behavior (the Federalist’s Sean Davis has been tweeting them since the indictment), often in the arena of animal rights.

In 2014, a group called Mercy for Animals released an undercover video that “allegedly show[ed] widespread animal abuse and cruelty at one of California’s largest duck farms.” Authorities reportedly responded to the video — by investigating the farm.
In 2015, the same group released yet another undercover video, this time exposing “apparent mistreatment of chickens at a Foster Farms poultry slaughterhouse in Fresno and at three poultry farms in Fresno County.” Once again, authorities responded — once again by investigating the farm.
But the lives and deaths of chickens and ducks rate higher than the lives and deaths of human babies in the womb, so the Center for Medical Progress triggered an entirely different law-enforcement reaction. Pro-life journalists must be prosecuted.

Attorney General Who Charged David Daleiden With 15 Felonies Received Thousands From Planned Parenthood

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

The Attorney General in California has charged pro-life activist David Daleiden with 15 felonies for his investigative work exposing the Planned Parenthood abortion business and its sales of aborted baby parts.

Not surprisingly, California Attorney General Xavier Becerra has received thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from the Planned Parenthood abortion company.

As LifeNews.com reported today, Becerra slammed pro-life undercover investigator David Daleiden with 15 felony charges on Tuesday, claiming he illegally recorded Planned Parenthood abortion workers and groups that distribute aborted babies’ body parts.

Becerra, a Democrat, announced the charges Tuesday against Daleiden and Sandra Merritt of the Center for Medical Progress. Daleiden and CMP fired back with a new video exposing Planned Parenthood.

California requires that both parties consent to be recorded. Becerra alleges that Daleiden and Merritt broke the law by filming their conversations with abortionists and others without their consent, according to the report.

But reports from the center for responsive politics show Planned Parenthood has been a long time contributor to Becerra’s campaigns. The Planned Parenthood abortion business gave Becerra $1,000 in 2014, $2,000 in 2012, $500 in 2004, $1,000 in 2002, and $1,035 in 1998. When pro-abortion Governor Jerry Brown name Becerra to the Attorney General post, the Planned Parenthood abortion company was delighted.

The Center for Medical Progress responded on Tuesday by calling the charges “bogus.”

“The public knows the real criminals are Planned Parenthood and their business partners,” Daleiden’s group said in a statement. “We look forward to showing the entire world what is on our yet-unreleased videotapes of Planned Parenthood’s criminal baby body parts enterprise, in vindication of the First Amendment rights of all.”

David Daleiden: Planned Parenthood’s Abortion Empire is Falling Apart

By Danny David
Live Action News

In a speech on Saturday at the Values Voters Summit in Washington, D.C., David Daleiden provided an update on Planned Parenthood. Last year, Daleiden’s Center for Medical Progress released a series of undercover videos allegedly showing Planned Parenthood officials engaging in illegal activities, including the trafficking of fetal body parts.

“Since the videos were released, 26 states, more than half the country, have moved to strip Planned Parenthood of its taxpayer subsidies and reassign that money to full-spectrum, mainstream community health centers,” said Daleiden.

He continued:

"And for the first time in history, Congress was able to put a bill on the president’s desk to completely end Planned Parenthood’s half-a-billion dollars in tax-payer support. The only thing we now need to zero out 50 percent of Planned Parenthood’s income is the signature of a president who will listen to us."
Daleiden went on to explain Planned Parenthood’s status as America’s abortion giant, most responsible for the “extermination and commodification” of preborn babies.

Since the release of the videos, congressional investigations have been launched into the alleged fetal body parts market. In his speech, Daleiden argued that the evidence gathered by the investigations will signal the beginning of the end for Planned Parenthood:

"Planned Parenthood’s house of cards is falling down. And as more and more details continue to come to light from the congressional investigation and others about their illicit body parts trade, Planned Parenthood’s abortion empire will begin to crumble."
Congress continues to investigate Planned Parenthood and its partners regarding the possible illegal sale of fetal body parts.
