The New Planned Parenthood Coalition

There are some things at which Planned Parenthood excels. One of those things is building coalitions with other minority groups to form impressive alliances. In the past, we have seen this kind of activity between Planned Parenthood and the Black leaders, as well as between Planned Parenthood and the homosexual activists.

When you think about these partnerships, they appear very unlikely. In the first case, one must remember that Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, invited on her original board of directors a man named T. Lothrop Stoddard. Mr. Stoddard was known at the time for a book he had written that was titled “The Rising Tide of Color Against White World-Supremacy.” During the first three decades of its existence, Planned Parenthood published a number of articles in its Birth Control Reviewthat talked about the “Negro problem” and even launched the Negro Project in 1939 to reduce the number of Black children.

Part of Sanger’s genius was convincing Negro leaders that Negroes were poor because they had too many children. Sanger, a winner of the Humanist of the Year Award, believed man, not God, was in charge and that children were not a blessing from God, but a resource that had to be controlled for the betterment of society. She told Negro leaders that, if they would reduce family size, they would rise economically. Martin Luther King, Jr., was one of the leaders who bought into this line of thinking and he accepted the Margaret Sanger Award in 1966. In his acceptance speech (read by his wife, as he couldn’t attend the presentation), he said, among other things:


For the Negro, therefore, intelligent guides of family planning are a profoundly important ingredient in his quest for security and a decent life. There are mountainous obstacles still separating Negroes from a normal existence. Yet one element in stabilizing his life would be an understanding of and easy access to the means to develop a family related in size to his community environment and to the income potential he can command.

Planned Parenthood Loses Big in New York State

New York state has long been perceived as a liberal bastion where Planned Parenthood can get whatever it wants.

That perception is actually incorrect, and recent events in New York demonstrate that. The truth is that there are seven counties in the state that can be counted on to side with Planned Parenthood—Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Staten Island, Queens, Westchester, and Albany. The remainder of the state is conservative. Unfortunately, there are enough people living in those seven counties to elect the state governor Planned Parenthood wants. However, there are sufficient members of the state legislature from the conservative parts of the state to block much of Planned Parenthood’s agenda.

This situation is the reason that, although Planned Parenthood has tried since 1986 to get mandatory K-12 sex programs in every school district in the state, it has failed to even come close.

This year, Planned Parenthood was determined to get its Women’s Agenda passed as part of the state budget. The Women’s Agenda encompassed 13 provisions, which included increased access to contraception and abortion and plans for more comprehensive sex education in the state. Regarding sex programs, the Women’s Agenda included a requirement that the state establish a “Be Aware, Be Informed” program that was to include a model comprehensive sex education curriculum sanctioned, of course, by Planned Parenthood.

Join the National Protest against Planned Parenthood on April 28

American Life League and our STOPP International program are proud to have been part of the 60+ pro-life groups who joined together in 2015 to promote national protests against Planned Parenthood.

These protests began as a one-time event in 2015 following the release of the Planned Parenthood baby body parts videos by the Center for Medical Progress. Pro-lifers asked for an annual event and that began in April 2016. The protests have involved thousands of pro-lifers in hundreds of cities across the nation.

This year’s protest will be on April 28 at Planned Parenthood locations across the country. We already have 85 protests scheduled in over 30 states but can add more if none is near you. If you are considering leading a protest in your city, here is a message from ProtestPP spokesperson Eric Scheidler to tell you exactly how to do it:

"Today, we're going on the offense."

That's what Planned Parenthood Executive Vice President Dawn Laguens told the media just a few weeks ago. She went on to declare, "We’re pushing for efforts in all 50 states."


All 50 states. That means your state. And my state. And the state of every other pro-life American.

Fighting Planned Parenthood Sex Education

We have fought Planned Parenthood sex indoctrination programs since 1986. It has always been a major part of our work.

As Jim Sedlak tells people at talks all across the country:

We are in a war with Planned Parenthood. The abortion facilities are the front line. It is where human beings are being killed. Any pro-life efforts MUST include having people on the front lines trying to save as many babies as possible. However, we must recognize that classroom sex education programs are the supply column. It is the vehicle Planned Parenthood uses to get kids involved in a sexual lifestyle. The kids buy birth control from Planned Parenthood which nets it a huge profit. When (not if) the birth control fails, Planned Parenthood sells them an abortion and earns even more profits. If we don’t stop the sex education programs, we will always be on the front lines.

In 2012 American Life League produced a video entitled Hooking Kids on Sex. It showed how Planned Parenthood intentionally sexualizes our children from elementary school through college. Planned Parenthood claims it is the largest provider of sex education programs in the country.

Unfortunately, since 2012, things have gotten even worse. We’ve brought you stories about Planned Parenthood sex educators who have been found to work as “mistresses” in bondage and discipline establishments. After the release of 50 Shades of Grey and its sequels, Planned Parenthood sex educators have become even bolder in classrooms. Advocacy of BDSM and other perverse sexual activity to minors has become commonplace.

We are happy to report that there is an uprising among parents over this ever-worsening situation. Parents are upset and have announced a public protest called the SEX ED SIT OUT for later this month.

The Birth Dearth and Toys R Us

Since its beginning 100 years ago, Planned Parenthood has pushed the need to reduce births and control the world’s supposed overpopulation problem.

Despite growing confirmation that the world does not now—and never has had—an overpopulation problem, Planned Parenthood insists that the problem is real and that more of its products are needed to “correct” it.

This week, as the Toys R Us store chain announced that it would soon go out of business and close all of its stores in the United States, the topic of birth rates and how those rates affect businesses gained popularity.

Let’s be clear. I do not think that low birth rates is the major cause of Toys R Us’ failure. Many other factors come into play, including competition from Amazon, Walmart, and other retail establishments. Toys R Us itself listed over 20 factors when it issued its financial report in January 2017. Only one of them was “birth rates.”

Planned Parenthood to Spend $20 Million on Elections in Eight States

Planned Parenthood announced this week that its political arms (Planned Parenthood Votes and Planned Parenthood Action Fund) will spend at least $20 million in just eight states to get its people elected to various governor and US Senate offices.

Outgoing president Cecile Richards believes she has built a political powerhouse at Planned Parenthood, and she has apparently convinced the organization’s board of directors of that fact. Part of believing that is thinking you can win any elections by throwing money and manpower at the campaign. This is exactly what Planned Parenthood, through its related political organizations, is intent on doing in 2018.

As you are aware, the United States Senate has 100 seats. The Republicans hold 52 of those seats and the Democrats hold 46. The other two seats are held by Independents who caucus and vote with the Democrats. In addition, two Republicans—Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine—almost always vote on Planned Parenthood’s side. So, when it comes to life matters, the Senate is basically split 50-50. When the vote is tied, Vice President Mike Pence casts the deciding vote—a vote that is always pro-life.

Planned Parenthood Planning More Webcam Abortion Sites

Planned Parenthood runs the largest abortion chain in the United States.

It has 356 facilities that commit surgical or medical abortions. Of those, 190 facilities do only medication (abortion pill) abortions, with 24 of those being webcam abortion sites. Webcam abortions were first established in Iowa by Planned Parenthood of the Heartland. For a webcam abortion, Planned Parenthood has a building, but no abortionist on site. A mother goes into these locations, talks with an abortionist over the Internet, and is then given the two pills needed to murder her child. She takes one pill in the Planned Parenthood office and then takes the second pill at home. If she has any problems at home, she is instructed to go to an emergency room and tell the staff that she is having a miscarriage.

The whole idea of these webcam abortions is financially attractive to Planned Parenthood. The organization gets to offer a high-dollar, child-killing procedure with minimal expense and no worry about taking care of complications.

I mean, after all, after Planned Parenthood gets paid, why would it be concerned about the mother?

According to the Guttmacher website, the webcam procedure is so controversial that 19 states have passed laws essentially outlawing them. The actual laws in those states stipulate that the clinician providing a medication abortion must be physically present during the procedure. This prohibits the use of telemedicine to prescribe medication for abortion remotely.

Answering Planned Parenthood's Propaganda

As the battle against Planned Parenthood goes on, its supporters frequently write letters to the editor making claims about Planned Parenthood that are not true.

In this WSR article we provide you with facts to counter Planned Parenthood’s lies. If you have a Planned Parenthood claim you want us to check out, just e-mail it to jsedlak@all.org and we will send you a rebuttal as well as print it in an upcoming edition of this report.

Today, we share a number of claims written by Ashley Casale, public affairs manager of Planned Parenthood Mid-Hudson Valley.

CLAIM: "Planned Parenthood is a respected and trusted healthcare provider in our community."

TRUTH: Planned Parenthood has seen its support among the American people collapse across the country. Since 1995 it has closed 314 centers because customers have gone elsewhere and the centers were losing money. Nationally, total unique customers have fallen from 3.1 million in 2006 to 2.4 million in 2015—a 23 percent drop. A total of 23 states are trying to take state money away from Planned Parenthood and the US Senate voted 49-51 to take federal funds from PP.

Planned Parenthood's Desperate Move

This past week, Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund revealed a desperate effort to save their joint corporate existence.

The move was prompted by the fact that Planned Parenthood has been losing—at the ballot box, in local communities, and in the halls of Congress. Cecile Richards, president of both the Federation and the Action Fund, is full of bluster but very short on victories of any significance.

Without belaboring the obvious, let me just recount the fact that Planned Parenthood has imploded over the last two decades. It has gone from 938 medical facilities to 600 facilities over this time period, with a consequential loss of over 740,000 annual customers. Its political fortunes have not fared any better as it has lost one major race after another over the last eight years, culminating in the catastrophic loss of the presidential election last November when it became apparent that it is completely out of step with the American public. And, of course, earlier this month it came within a single vote of losing over $500 million in taxpayer funding.

If you’re Planned Parenthood, you must do something to stem the tide.
