Actor James Woods Slams Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards for Celebrating Abortion on Mother’s Day
Life News
Unlike many Hollywood celebrities, actor James Woods boldly speaks out for the rights of babies in the womb.
Known for his roles in “Casino” and “Once Upon A Time in America” and voices in “Family Guy” and Disney’s “Hercules,” Woods has criticized the abortion chain Planned Parenthood on social media several times.
On Mother’s Day, he did it again, according to The Christian Post.
His post was a reaction to Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards who urged children to love their mothers by advocating for abortions.
“Nothing says ‘I love you, Mom!’ like standing up for the right of mothers everywhere to get the care they need,” Richards tweeted on Mother’s Day.
By “care,” Richards meant abortions. Last week, she described abortion as “fundamental” to women’s health care.
Woods realized this and responded by describing the horror of what Richards’ was really saying.
“Hard to say ‘I love you, Mom’ from a medical waste dumpster… #DefundPP,” he tweeted in response.
Every year, Planned Parenthood violently aborts approximately 300,000 unborn babies, more than any other group in the United States. And it makes millions of dollars destroying their lives.

Pro-life Reflections on Mother’s Day
By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life
As everyone knows it’s only two more days to Mother’s Day. But if you are a pro-abortionist of a certain stripe who reads NRL News Today posts (and there are more than you think who take a peek), just a mention is enough to infuriate you.
Why? There are probably a hundred reasons—or 59 million. What I do know for sure is that when we celebrate (a word that will make their teeth grind) what our moms have done for us, to many pro-abortionists this is code for “keeping women in their place.”
Even worse (and I do mean worse) they believe to talk about sacrifice serves no purpose other than to limit women, to contract their horizons, to insist that a woman who is not a mother is “defective” (as hyperventilating pro-abortionists often put it). That this bears no resemblance to anything and is more a reflection their own insecurities than anything we have done (or could do) is just more evidence we “don’t get it.”
If I may, I’d like to say a few things about mothers and Mother’s Day, starting with my own mom who died much too young.
She was the oldest of twelve (11 girls and one boy!) and she and her siblings grew up during the depression. Times were very, very tough. Eviction was a constant threat.
My mom gave up a lot to help raise her siblings. Her own mother was widowed at an early age and my mom gave up the chance to go to college to help keep the family together. She sacrificed for us—my six siblings and me. She never complained even though, financially, we often lived on the brink.
My mom taught me how to be a parent. If I am 1/10 as good, I will consider myself a huge success.
Abortion was (as they say) not an issue as the Andrusko kids were growing up. We did have an unplanned teenage pregnancy among my cousins. I was never prouder of my dad than I was for the encouragement and support and love he showered on her.
As I reflect back on the previous two sentences, I realize I was watching…and learning…and internalizing an attitude toward crisis pregnancies and our obligation to help. My dad was unintentionally modeling behavior which I absorbed unsuspectingly.
Likewise to the reality of unborn life. It’s now been over 50 years, but I remember like it was yesterday when my mother asked me to place my hand on her stomach.
I felt my youngest brother move! I’m not sure there ever could have been a chance that I would accidentally wander into the “pro-choice” camp, but there surely was none after that revelation.

Happy Mother's Day from PRI
By PRI Staff
For all mothers who know the feeling of the first embrace after birth…Who know the joy of helping their babies take their first steps…Or know what it’s like to wipe away their every tear…For mothers who let go on the first day of school…Or who know what it feels like at the end of a long day’s work of providing or caring for their family…Or for women who have struggled with infertility or the loss of one of their own…We at the Population Research Institute want to say thank you to all women who have embraced the gift of motherhood. Mothers make the family a place where love and compassion resides. They give life to us all and for that reason all mothers have the right to be honored, respected, and cherished.
Sadly, in many parts of the world, even to this day, mothers are deprived of this right. That’s why we at PRI continue to fight China’s planned birth policies, which deny mothers their right to bear more than two children. That is why we will continue to speak out about coercive and forced abortion and sterilization wherever it occurs. That is why we have provided solutions for mothers in the Caribbean in crisis pregnancies with our recently opened Family Care Center in St. Lucia, which provides essential medical and emotional support for expectant mothers.
Nothing can replace joys of motherhood—all of the joys—from feeling the very first movements, to bringing a unique and brand new soul into the world through childbirth, to a child’s first smile, first word, first toddler-sized hug! These are joys that all women should have the right to experience, and as many times as they choose.
All of us here at PRI wish you a
Blessed and Happy Mother’s Day
