Planned Parenthood 'Weaponizing' Taxpayer Dollars for Pro-Abortion Candidates: Live Action

Planned Parenthood Federation of America uses taxpayer dollars to help them afford to spend millions of dollars on pro-choice politicians, according to a report released by a pro-life group.

Live Action, a pro-life organization headed by noted anti-abortion activist Lila Rose, released a report Tuesday detailing what it described as Planned Parenthood's "political money laundering scheme."

"And every election cycle, Planned Parenthood's political arms ... spend millions of dollars in campaign contributions, independent expenditures, and the recruitment of election workers to get pro-abortion politicians elected to office," read the report's introduction.

"Those politicians, in turn, ensure that Planned Parenthood continues to receive over half a billion dollars in federal and state funding from taxpayers every year – almost 40 percent of Planned Parenthood's annual budget."

According to Live Action's report, Planned Parenthood is poised to spend $20 million to defeat pro-life candidates, plus $30 million in consortium with other groups.

"While Planned Parenthood and its political arms are separate on paper, because taxpayers are forced to give the abortion chain over $500 million a year, donors are freed up to direct their money to Planned Parenthood's political agenda rather than to fund what nominal health services Planned Parenthood itself provides," argued the report.

In a statement released Tuesday, Rose said that "Planned Parenthood is weaponizing the taxpayers' own money against them."

"The corrupt bargain between Planned Parenthood and pro-abortion politicians must end. It's paid for by taxpayers and with the lives of over 320,000 preborn children every year," Rose said.

"Congress and the president must fulfill their promise to defund Planned Parenthood of all taxpayer dollars. American taxpayers should not be in the abortion business, nor should they be subsidizing campaign contributions to any politician to keep them in office."

Planned Parenthood Spending Over $4 Million Trying to Take Over Congress

The abortion giant Planned Parenthood has dedicated $4 million to help pro-abortion candidates win back the U.S. House of Representatives in November.

Fortune reports the super PAC Planned Parenthood Votes is spending the money on 24 “toss up” races in California, Illinois, Minnesota, New York and other states. The money will be used for mailers, digital ads and door-to-door canvassing.

The largest abortion provider in America, Planned Parenthood’s abortion practices and its taxpayer funding are in jeopardy. The U.S. House is solidly pro-life, and just a few more pro-lifers in the U.S. Senate could mean more abortion restrictions and an end to Planned Parenthood’s nearly half a billion dollars in taxpayer funding.

The abortion chain is throwing a lot of money into the mid-term elections in hopes of its allies regaining the House and Senate. In March, it announced plans to spend $20 million on TV and digital ads, mailers and on-the-ground efforts. Then in April, Planned Parenthood and several partner groups released a $30 million election budget to take over Congress.

Pointing to the importance of health care to voters, Planned Parenthood intends to highlight what’s “on the line,” to ensure the House is flipped to a “pro-reproductive health majority.” This includes underlining Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court, and Republican candidates’ support for “defunding” Planned Parenthood and stripping protections for individuals with pre-existing conditions.

The other races that Planned Parenthood will target include other districts in California, as well as in Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Washington. This is Planned Parenthood Votes’ largest midterm investment ever in the House.

It has been spending money on gubernatorial races as well, especially in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. The abortion industry is especially desperate to keep pro-abortion Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf in office, because there are pro-life majorities in both state houses.

Planned Parenthood also made a six-figure ad buy in August to attack U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and lobby senators to vote against him.

Democrats Are Not Running a Single Pro-Life Candidate in Any Targeted District in 2018

Democrat leaders are pushing the party further into a radical ideology that demands full support for abortion for any reason up to birth

In a scathing but apt criticism of the current party, The Federalist’s Bre Payton describedabortion on demand as DNC leaders’ new religion.

“Their objective is no longer to keep abortion ‘safe, legal, and rare,’ but to shout it, to be proud about it, and to kick and scream if their party does not expel pro-life defectors,” she wrote.

The upcoming midterm elections are a perfect example. Party leaders are abandoning a seven-term Illinois incumbent and supporting his challenger instead because of abortion.

U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski, one of the last pro-life Democrats in Congress, accurately represents his constituents on the abortion issue. He votes to protect unborn babies from late-term abortions and opposes taxpayer funding of abortions, two issues that are widely popular among Democrats and Republicans alike.

For doing so, he is being abandoned by his own party. Some of Lipinski’s peers in the House are backing his pro-abortion challenger, Maria Newman, who supports late-term abortions and taxpayer funding of abortions. Well-funded pro-abortion groups like NARAL and Emily’s List are backing Newman as well.

Lipinski is not alone. According to the Federalist, the Democratic Party is not backing any pro-life candidates in key districts this fall.

The party … has no room for those who believe life begins at conception. They’ve expelled nearly all of its representatives who believe life begins at conception and vote accordingly. 

In Congress, only two Democrats belong to the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus. 

That’s right, two. And the party is not running a single pro-life Democrat in any of the 91 districts they hope to win over this November. Both of these things are startling given that in 2009, 64 Democrats opposed the Affordable Care Act because they thought it didn’t come with enough restrictions on abortion.

Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-Ill.), one of these Democratic congressmen who broke rank in 2009, has represented the Third District of Illinois since 2005. His seat is in jeopardy now that he’s being challenged in the upcoming primary by Marie Newman, the darling of NARAL Pro-Choice America, EMILY’s List, Gloria Steinem, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.

Archbishop: “Catholics Cannot Support Pro-Abortion Candidates” and Hillary is “Aggressively Pro-Abortion”

Denver Archbishop Samuel Aquila has given one of the most powerful elections statements by any Catholic leader. He says Catholics in good conscience can’t support candidates who are pro-abortion.

But Archbishop Aquila goes further. He says Democrats are “aggressively pro-abortion” because they are pushing taxpayer funding of abortions and because they will appoint judges who support abortion. Naturally that includes Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president who is spearheading that agenda.

Archbishop Aquila also complains about how Democrats are pushing to overturn the Helms Amendment, which prevents forcing taxpayers from promoting and performing abortions in other countries.

On the other hand, the Catholic leader praises the Republican Party platform for opposing taxpayer funding of abortion and defunding the Planned Parenthood abortion business as well as opposing dismemberment abortions and assisted suicide.

Archbishop Aquila also blasted Democrats for promoting the Obamacare mandate that forces groups like The Little Sisters of the Poor and Hobby Lobby to pay for abortions and violate their own consciences.

Although Christians may be inclined to vote on other issues such as caring for the poor, Archbishop Aquila says killing unborn children must be opposed at all times by all who call themselves Christians.
