Planned Parenthood President Invades Pennsylvania's Capitol. Take Action Now.‏

Michael Geer, President and CEO
Pennsylvania Family Council

Planned Parenthood’s National President, Cecile Richards, teamed up with Gov. Tom Wolf at the Capitol in Harrisburg on Monday where they spoke at a press conference in opposition to H.B. 1948, which would update our quarter-century-old law and end late-term and dismemberment abortions in PA.

Cecile Richards opposes any restrictions on abortion whatsoever, promoting it even to the moments before birth. Planned Parenthood claims that HB 1948 is extreme, vicious – even dangerous. The opposite is true. Ending late-term and dismemberment abortions in Pennsylvania is the compassionate, humane thing to do.

We’ve got a fight on our hands, and we need you. Planned Parenthood is pulling out all the stops – even sending their top gun to the Capitol to fight for their radical agenda. That’s why we need you to call your State Representative and State Senator to support HB 1948, and to get others to do the same.

HB 1948 protects the health of the mother; it stops the gruesome dismemberment abortion procedure. HB 1948 also stops abortions currently happening at 24 weeks – when the vast majority could survive and thrive outside the womb - by updating the limit to 20 weeks, a time when these little human beings can feel pain.

Your voice is vital to protect the unborn in Pennsylvania from the likes of Cecile Richards and Planned Parenthood. Take Action Today!
1) Call you Representative today: a list of phone numbers for Representatives is on our website.

Citizen Petitions Delivered to Legislature Demanding Action on Planned Parenthood

From the Pennsylvania Family Council

Public outrage over Planned Parenthood’s fetal tissue operations, not to mention its longstanding brutal abortion business, continues to percolate across Pennsylvania and the country. The Pennsylvania Family Council was pleased to deliver to the Capitol this week thousands of pages of petitions urging the legislature 1) to mount an independent investigation of Planned Parenthood, and 2) to support HB 1623, the Whole Women’s Health Funding Priorities Act, which would ensure abortion-selling organizations are at the very bottom of the list for state healthcare appropriations.

Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration has already concluded its own investigation of Planned Parenthood, but the impartiality of the investigation is seriously in doubt. It has recently been revealed, for instance, that Planned Parenthood of Pennsylvania has an incredibly tight relationship with the governor’s office, with leaders meeting Gov. Wolf on multiple occasions and talking points being distributed to the governor’s staff. It’s time for a real, independent investigation into Planned Parenthood’s practices in our commonwealth.

The Whole Women’s Health Funding Priorities Act, introduced by freshman representatives Paul Schemel (R-Franklin) and Judy Ward (R-Blair), must be a part of any serious response to the Planned Parenthood videos. No organization that does abortions, and certainly no organization that treats the unborn with such callousness and flippancy, deserves a dime of taxpayer subsidy. Our legislators need to know that Pennsylvanians care deeply about this injustice.

You can see more about these responses to the Planned Parenthood videos, including opportunities to sign the petition and contact your legislators, at our Citizen Action Center on our website - pafamily.org.

Planned Parenthood’s Formula for Sex Education

Warning: linked content is not suitable for children

From Pennsylvania Family Institute

Thousands of young people – starting as early as age 6 – are taught sex-ed by Planned Parenthood every year.¹ This education could be summed up by the following:
Porn x (50 Shades of Grey + Abortion) = Sex-Ed by Planned Parenthood

Breaking down this formula:
Pornography: Planned Parenthood has no problem telling 9-year-olds to view porn. Instead of telling kids to play tee-ball together they encourage viewing erotic magazines, books and movies. Even porn producers have praised their efforts.

(It’s ironic that recently Planned Parenthood blasted Pennsylvania state officials for hundreds of porn images found on their computers. Apparently it’s not okay for elected officials but good for 4th graders.)

50 Shades of Grey: Planned Parenthood tells teens that “anything within the sexual world is normal as long as it’s consensual.” Instead of sharing why the risky and violent behavior shown in 50 Shades of Grey encourages men to be sexual predators and disables safeguards for women, Planned Parenthood runs teacher conferences on how to encourage this behavior.

They have videos targeting young people too (see parts of video below).

Planned Parenthood President Parleys with Progressive Pennsylvanians

From Pennsylvania Family Institute

Last week liberal Pennsylvanians gathered in Harrisburg for the Pennsylvania Progressive Summit, which was keynoted by Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America—the country’s largest abortion business. Two remarks worth mentioning:

  • Richards proudly stated that Planned Parenthood patched patients in their waiting rooms through to congressmen to lobby for pro-abortion policies. We couldn’t ask for a better example of Planned Parenthood politicizing its health care; they literally use their clinics and their patients for politics. It’s difficult to imagine the coldness it takes to harangue a vulnerable woman waiting for an abortion into chit-chatting with a Congressional office. Planned Parenthood’s tagline is “Care. No matter what.” More accurate would be “Politics. No matter what.”
  • Richards announced “We are 100% of America’s tomorrow.” It takes chutzpah for the head of an organization dedicated to destroying the future in utero to crow about owning “tomorrow.”

Tell Harrisburg - "Do NOT Support Planned Parenthood"‏

From Pennsylvania Family Council

Did you know that 94% of Planned Parenthood's services for pregnant women are abortions?

Planned Parenthood is more than just the largest abortion provider in Pennsylvania. Their actions tell us that they are not a friend to women. And we need your help in making their actions known to your state lawmakers.

How You Can Help

1) Pass on a message to your State Senator and State Representative - "Please do not support Planned Parenthood."

When contacting your State Senator and State Representative about this issue, you can write your own letter, or you could use or modify the letter below:

Subject: Please Do NOT Support Planned Parenthood

As you approach budget decisions this year for Pennsylvania, I would ask that you please NOT support Planned Parenthood.

- Why would Planned Parenthood be opposed to their doctors being required to obtain admitting privileges at hospitals?

- Why does Planned Parenthood receive taxpayer funding (totaling over $540 million last year) when 94% of their services to pregnant women are abortion and whose own nurses in other states accuse them of setting abortion quotas and running a "meat-market style of assembly-line abortions"?

Planned Parenthood is not a friend to women.

Please:
1. Do not fund Planned Parenthood with our tax dollars.
2. Support HB 1762 to require abortionists to get admitting privileges at local hospitals.

Sincerely,

If you don't know who your state Senator and state Representative are,  use this link and type in your street address, city, and zip code.  A window will then pop up with the names and contact information for your State Senator and State Representative.

Note:  Note: For what it’s worth and whenever possible, we highly recommend faxing your messages to state representatives and senators as our elected officials receive countless e-mails, some of which are likely dumped as spam and a phone message may not get to them exactly as you stated.  A hardcopy letter often receives greater attention; however, that letter often requires more time to pass through greater security before reaching the intended official.   A fax solves this problem because it’s an “instant letter” and while legislators receive fewer faxes today, their offices still have and use working fax machines

We realize not everyone has access to a fax machine, but if you do or know someone who does, we strongly recommend this option.

The Mission of the Pennsylvania Family Institute is to strengthen families by restoring to public life the traditional, foundational principles and values essential for the well-being of society. We are a research and education organization devoted to restoring these values to our state and nation. We produce policy reports, promote responsible citizenship and work to promote unity among pro-family groups.
