I Thought I Hated Abortion as Much as I Could. Then My Wife Got Pregnant.

'Dealing with the issue every day, I sometimes forget how bizarre and unnatural and inhuman abortion really is.'

A few months ago, my wife surprised me when I got home. She said something was different, and asked me to guess what it was. I don’t like guessing, but she insisted. Half joking, I gave it a shot.

“You’re pregnant?” “Yes.” She was smiling enormously, with a few tears threatening to spill. I sat down pretty hard.

I now know the meaning of the phrase “an ordinary miracle.” Millions upon millions of people a year get pregnant and have babies. But when I realized that there was a brand-new human being in the room with me, that I was sitting next to two souls, and two heartbeats, and that the little boy or little girl was half me, and half Charmaine—it was simply incredible to contemplate. Terrifying, too. But incredible. I wish everyone who discovers the presence of a new person could and would feel the same happiness and sense of wonder.

As we began to share our news, a lot of people asked the same things: Does knowing you have your own baby change pro-life work for you? Does it make it a lot harder?

I know why they ask. Working in the pro-life movement brings us into nearly constant contact with the ugliest undercurrents of our society. Life’s cruel paradoxes are often up front and difficult to process. On one hand, there are people who desperately want children, and would do anything to be given the opportunity to love an “unwanted” child.

And of course there are many, many parents who greet the news that they have a son or daughter with unmitigated joy. On the other hand, every day parents traipse into government-funded clinics and pay adults to transform their developing sons and daughters into piles of shredded flesh.

The contrast really hit me when I attended the Women’s March on Washington, and watched hundreds of thousands of girls and women cheering wildly every time abortion on demand was mentioned, and hoisting signs celebrating the rejection of children they deemed inconvenient.
The speakers declared that nothing and no one could stand between them and the right to whatever pleasure they deemed necessary. It was a celebration of selfishness, the glorification of sterile sensuality, and a demand for fruitless love. Something Peter Kreeft once said crossed my mind as I watched them, shaken: “Feminists are feminine like cannibals are chefs.” It was a rejection of the feminine, and a rejection of children.

Pro-Life Youth Crash Pro-Abortion Women’s March

By Dr. Susan Herndon

Only pro-abortion women were allowed to partner with the so-called “Women’s March” in Washington, but the president of America’s largest organization of pro-life youth decided to crash the march anyway with her group’s own message about abortion and women.

On her Facebook page, Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America, wrote, “Yeah so they wouldn’t let us in their march so we just ran ahead and got in the front.”

Abortion Betrays Women
Carrying a banner that states “Abortion Betrays Women,” Hawkins and her group posted on Facebook, “We will not sit by as Planned Parenthood, our nation’s abortion Goliath and a sponsor of this March, betrays women into thinking abortion is their only choice.”

Hawkins said in a statement that the Women’s March is “excluding the majority of American women who find abortion to be morally wrong and believe in protecting families, defending the marginalized, and achieving social justice.”

“Instead of a march to promote those worthy values and truly be inclusive, the event has turned into a rallying cry for the radical abortion industry to save their own baby: taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood,” she added.

“Women’s March” Throws Out Pregnancy Center Providing Abortion Alternatives to Women

By Steven Ertelt
LifeNews

The so-called Women’s March has thrown out another pro-life organization. This time it’s kicked out a Women’s Medical Clinic that provides abortion alternatives.

Organizers of the Women’s March have already admitted that it is not designed to support women but rather to support abortion and the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

That pro-abortion mantra was reconfirmed today when the Women’s March threw out Stanton Healthcare — that it initially accepted as a partner for the event. Now the Pregnancy Center has been removed by March organizers even though Stanton provides quality healthcare free of charge to low income women, women with unexpected pregnancies and the refugee communities.

With other womens’ groups that embrace a pro-life message being removed from the WMW, it is now clear that this is not a “Women’s” March at all but an anti-Trump and pro-abortion event, Stanton Healthcare spokeswoman Brandi Swindell told LifeNews.

She said: “As a single woman who started a women’s healthcare clinic and a pro-life feminist, I think it is important that there is inclusion, diversity and a broad spectrum of opinions at the ‘Women’s March on Washington.’ That is why we thought it was so important to mobilize women who embrace ending the violence of abortion and standing for human rights and justice for all.”

“If the voice of pro-life women is excluded from the WMW, then it is not really a ‘Women’s March’ at all. Rather, it is an anti-Trump march, a pro-choice march or a Planned Parenthood march. To truly be called a ‘Women’s March,’ all our sister’s voices, thoughts, viewpoints and stories need to be heard,” Swindell continued.

Students For Life Asked to Participate in Women's March. Now They'll Protest. Here's Why.

By Michael Gryboski
The Christian Post

The national pro-life group Students For Life of America will hold a demonstration at the Women's March on Washington after reportedly not getting approval to be an organizing partner.

The Women's March on Washington is scheduled to be held in the Nation's Capital the day after president-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office.

SFLA recently announced on Facebook that they are planning to demonstrate at the March, as they believe the agenda for the event is biased toward the pro-choice perspective.

"We are going to show those in attendance at the Women's March that the very thing they are marching against, violence against women, is what they are promoting and lauding with their support for abortion," stated their Facebook event.
"We will not sit by as the abortion giant, Planned Parenthood, a sponsor of this March, betrays women into thinking abortion is the only choice."
In comments sent to The Christian Post, SFLA President Kristan Hawkins explained that she attempted to contact March organizers regarding involvement, but that they never responded.
"They refused to acknowledge my inquiries into being a sponsor, perhaps thinking I was a college student, even though it was clear who I represented, the largest national youth pro-life organization," said Hawkins.
"Even though they put forth the message that they are inclusive and are demonstrating for a variety of issues, I think they deliberately leave out pro-life organizations, deeming us not the 'right people' for their message."
Hawkins also told CP that she hoped that the demonstration at the March would show pro-choice attendees that they should convert to the pro-life viewpoint.
