The Aggrieved Innocence of Kermit Gosnell and Pro-abortion Congressional Democrats

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life News Today

Consider this stunning quote from Kermit Gosnell in a phone interview that will be part of a soon to be released documentary about the West Philadelphia abortionist convicted of three counts of first-degree murder:
“My youngest son asked me, ‘Dad, did you do these horrible things that are in the newspaper?’ And I said, ‘Alex, I don’t want to lie to you. I really have to do a lot of reading to feel comfortable that I, in fact, was on solid ground in my thoughts and my approaches.”
So where would a man serving consecutive life sentences for deliberating aborting babies alive and then slicing their spinal cords go for affirmation that he was on “solid ground”? For Gosnell, the Bible!
Gosnell went on to say (in a clip first heard atTheBlaze.com)
“And until I really completed my first Genesis to Revelation reading of the Bible — which I did since I was incarcerated — I really didn’t feel as comfortable as I am. I think it’s Genesis 2:7, expresses the breath of life as the beginning of life, that God breathed breath — breathed life — into Adam.
“The Bible, to me, is very clear that life does not happen until breath.”
“I very strongly believe in my innocence and there are many people who believe that … who come to me and say that, ‘How could you be this terrible person and people are coming to you for 40 years.” The story just doesn’t make sense.”

(Genesis 2:7 reads: “Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”)

G
osnell’s appropriation of Genesis for his own twisted purposes reminded me of pro-abortion congressional Democrats, including such noted theologians as House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Ca.) They purport to know more about what their Catholic faith says regarding abortion than the church does, possessing a firmer grasp than, say, the Pope. More about that in a moment.

Pro-abortionists See 2014 as “A Terrible Year for Reproductive Rights"

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life News Today

Let’s take a few minutes to see why pro-abortion militant Armanda Marcotte believes “It’s Been a Terrible Year for Reproductive Rights.”

But we’re going to take her conclusion first because it’s the kind of question-begging argument that pro-abortionists specialize in. And then we will end where Marcotte began.

Pro-lifers and those who have no particular stake in the abortion issue have passed a great number of laws going back to 2011 that require that abortion clinics upgrade their physical plant (and therefore the safety of women); that they use the FDA recommended protocol for chemical abortions; that abortionists have admitting privileges at a local hospital so when there are the inevitable complications they can go with the woman to the hospital—to name just three.

NEARLY-ABORTED, GHANAIAN TEENAGER WINS JUNIOR OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL

17-year-old Martha Bissah just after she won a gold medal in the Junior Olympics. With her are the Silver and Bronze medal winners.

Editor’s note. This inspiring story appeared in the November post-election issue of National Right to Life News. You can read the entire 34-page edition at www.nrlc.org/uploads/NRLNews/NRLNewsNov2014.pdf

Competing last August in the Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China, Bissah ran a 2:04.90 in the 800 meter final, a new junior Olympic record.I follow sports very closely, youth sports almost as closely, but I confess I missed that the first-ever Olympic gold medal won at any level by a Ghanaian was by 17-year-old Martha Bissah.

According to a Ghanaian newspaper, an enchanted TV Commentator at the Youth Olympics commented about Martha’s achievement saying, “Martha Bissah the Ghanaian has given us a glimpse of a glorious future…without any shadow of the doubt… that was world class….if someone can tidy up that technique, she will be a force to be reckoned with when she becomes a senior.”

But there is (to quote the immortal Paul Harvey), a “rest of the story”—that she almost didn’t have a future. The details come courtesy of a story written for Ghanaweb.com by Ebenezer Afanyi Dadzie.

Crescendo, an Award Winning Pro-life Film, is now on YouTube

By Nancy Flanders
National Right to Life News Today

“Crescendo,” the short film which has earned over eleven international awards, is now available on YouTube. Called the “most powerful pro-life movie of its kind” and “a life-changer” by Joseph Farah, founder of World Net Daily, the film has been screened at thousands of events.
Executed producer Jason Jones lost his daughter to abortion when he was just 17-years-old. He dedicated Crescendo to that unborn child, named Jessica. A percentage of the sales of the film was donated to crisis-pregnancy centers in the United States in honor of that little girl because Jones believes that had one been available to his young girlfriend, their daughter would be alive today.
The gripping pro-life film highlights the struggles and fears of a woman named Maria Magdelena. Once the filmed raised $10 million for crisis pregnancy centers, the producers planned to release it on YouTube for free for the world to see.
While the film’s pro-life message isn’t particularly in your face, it is obvious and it is enthralling. From the first seconds of “Crescendo” to the last, you will be captivated, and hopefully, more pro-life than e

Advised to Abort, Mother and Father Celebrate Son’s Second Birthday

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life News Today

According to the Daily Mail’s Lizzie ParryWhen Robyn Wilson went to Bassetlaw Royal Hospital in March 2012 for her 12-week scan, she and her husband Adam were bombarded with news about their unborn baby.

“they were told it was highly likely they had a Down’s Syndrome baby and emergency blood tests were carried out the same day.

“The results revealed a heightened risk of Edward Syndrome or Patau Syndrome – both serious genetic disorders that limit life expectancy.

“Wilson was referred to nearby Jessops Hospital, a maternity unit in Leeds, where she claims doctors advised her that her best option could be to terminate the pregnancy.”

As the couple prepared to celebrate their son Harry’s second birthday, Mrs. Wilson recounted the crescendo of news that would frighten any parent.

ABORTION CLINICS IN ILLINOIS AND KANSAS READY TO “ACCOMMODATE SOME EXTRA VOLUME“

Abortionist Dr. Erin King

by Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life News Today

As NRL News Today readers recall, on September 10, the Missouri legislature overrode Governor Jay Nixon’s veto of two very important pro-life bills and one line item veto of a budget increase for Missouri’s Alternatives to Abortion Program. Is anyone—anyone—surprised that abortion clinics outside of Missouri are already trolling for pregnant women?

The best known measure–HB 1307–increases the time of reflection after counseling before an abortion can be performed from 24 hours to 72 hours.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch ran an article today, headlined “Out-of-state abortion providers ready to treat more Missouri women.” The abortion clinics—in Illinois and Kansas—tell reporter Samantha Liss they are not sure if women will come looking but if they do, well, they can count on the Hope Clinic for Women in Granite City, Illinois, and the Wichita, Kansas-based South Wind Women’s Center.

Dr. Erin King is the associate medical director at Hope Clinic for Women which is only 15 minutes from downtown St. Louis. In Liss’s story we read:

BABY “ABORTED” AT 26 WEEKS TO SAVE MOTHER’S LIFE SURVIVES DELIVERY, NOW HEALTHY 10-YEAR-OLD

Natasha Smith’s birth was induced 14 weeks early when her mother developed a life-threatening condition.

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life News Today

Ten years ago Norelle Smith and fiance Sandy Cameron were told that Norelle, then 26 weeks pregnant, had toxic pre-eclampsia. “The condition was starving struggling [the baby] in the womb and attacking her mum’s internal organs,” according to the Sunday Post. Their baby, they were told, had stopped developing at 22 weeks and had no chance to survive. They reluctantly agreed to deliver the baby 14 weeks early.
But not only did Natasha (who was born just six inches long and weighed only 1lb 4oz) astonish the medical team by surviving delivery, she overcame all the initial predictions that she would be severely brain damaged and live a few days, at most.
Now she is the apple of her parents’ eye, and has celebrated her 10th birthday—“with a limo party and meal in town with her friends,” according to the Sunday Post!
