Declaration in Support of the Holy See at the United Nations
Last week a UN committee directed the Catholic Church to let children have sex and also to change Church teaching on contraception. The Committee also directed the Church to change its teaching on abortion and to let kids have abortions. The Committee also told the Church that its comments on homosexuality has caused violence against homosexuals.
This is not the only recent attack on the Church at the UN. The awful baby-killing group "Catholics" for Choice has relaunched their global campaign to kick the Vatican out of the UN General Assembly. They want to reduce the Church to no more than an NGO (non-governmental organization). Along with this a delegate from Norway regularly complains in UN meetings that the Holy See has a seat at the table.
I urge you to go to www.defendtheholysee.com right now and sign the Declaration in Support of the Holy See. I ask you to send this to all of your family and friends. I ask you to begin campaigns to get as many people to sign this as possible.

Urgent Action Needed - Urge Eggland's Best to Stop Funding PP Through Susan B. Komen
Susan B. Komen is a supporter of Planned Parenthood. PP would like us to believe they do other services besides abortions; however, there main service is and always has been abortion.
Second Money is fungible meaning that If PP has a budget of 100K for abortions and 50K for breast exams and someone gives them 10k for breast exams they will have 110K for abortions.
Egglands Best Eggs, based out of Jeffersonville. Pa has started a fundraising promotion supporting Susan G. Komen for the Cure which supports Planned Parenthood. Please write, call or email them to stop supporting Komen and ask your family, friends and parishioners to do the same

A Celebration of Life on Pentecost Sunday in the Philadelphia Archdiocese
This blog
is primarily for those who live in or near the Philadelphia
Archdiocese:
On May 19th, St. Cecilia’s Church,
located in the Fox Chase section of Northeast Philadelphia, PA, will host a piano recital by Father Denis G.
Wilde, O.S.A., Associate Director Of Priests For Life. This recital is for all religions; the
blessings of human life at all ages; and to thank God for the power of the Holy
Spirit and our newly ordained priests in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Father Wilde will be the celebrant at the
12:30 pm Mass before the concert.
Concert begins at 3:00 PM.
A free-will offering will be taken up during the
concert for the local Birthright crisis pregnancy center, also located in the
Fox Chase section of the city. Follow
this link for information on Birthright
Rev. Denis G. Wilde, O.S.A., Ph.D. is a member
of the Augustinian Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, was associate professor
of music at Villanova University from 1977 to 1998, before he joined Priests
for Life. A Long Island native, Fr. Wilde is a professional pianist and
presents piano recitals around the country in conjunction with pro-life
ministry. Father Wilde received his Ph.D. in music from The Catholic University
of America (1984) and had been professionally engaged as choral director at
Villanova and as guest conductor in five continents. Father feels a unique
interest in relating music and pro-life ministry much as the heart is moved
through beauty in life.
Fr. Denis has been actively involved in pro-life
concerns since before Roe v. Wade. In the 80s he personally witnessed to the
"rescue" movement and thereby developed ecumenical ties from the
expression of common faith in God as the Author of Life. Beyond preaching and
teaching on campus he has now traveled to over 600 venues in 46 states
delivering the Gospel of Life and supporting the local pro-life efforts of
clergy and laity.
Fr. Denis writes: "There is sadly no more
dangerous place to live than the womb. This bizarre situation of a culture of
death propped up by law and camouflaged as medicine perpetuates a lie of a
colossal order. Its consequence is a dead end street to baby, mother and
civilization.
"Our days, seen against this backdrop, can be
foreboding. But they can also serve as a national and church wake-up call to
act on the promise God has given us all - to thwart evil and reclaim His
Victory over death. A priest therefore needs to be at the front, side by side
and supporting his flock in this battle for life. Ours is not an option to wait
for someone else to come along. What a joy it is to know that God is in charge
and will not fail to lead us forward to end this 'unspeakable crime’.”

Pennsylvania Action Alert: Opt Out of Abortion Coverage - Support SB3 3 /HB 818
From
Steven Bozza, Director
Office
for Life Family and Laity
The health care reform package
passed in 2010 was one of the most sweeping acts of Congress in recent history.
During the debate there were many hotly contested issues, but perhaps the most controversial
was whether or not elective abortions would be covered in the new taxpayer
supported health insurance exchanges to
be created under this new law.
Pennsylvania can and should prohibit taxpayer
supported health insurance plans from covering elective abortions.
The Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act (PPACA) specifically permits states to prohibit insurance
providers that participate in the exchange from covering elective abortions.
Governor Corbett has indicated that Pennsylvania will not create its own
exchange. Therefore, to assure that elective abortion is not included in the federal
exchange to be implemented in Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth must affirmatively
opt out by passing a state law. Senate Bill 3/House Bill 818 will clearly
prohibit the taxpayer supported insurance plans from covering elective abortions.
It
does not eliminate coverage of
abortions in the cases of rape, incest or to avert the death of the mother.
Only elective abortions are excluded.SB 3/HB 818assures all Pennsylvanians
covered by an exchange health plan that they will not be forced to pay a
separate premium to cover elective abortion. Without SB 3/HB 818, every person enrolled
(man or woman) in a plan within the exchange would be required to make a payment
to fund elective abortion coverage for others.
Tax dollars will be spent to
subsidize the premiums paid to the insurance companies on the exchanges, making
them affordable to those who otherwise do not have insurance. Without the opt-out,
the government subsidized insurance plans could be used to cover elective
abortions.
Currently
no tax dollars are used for elective abortions anywhere in Pennsylvania.
Abortion coverage has long been
prohibited in Pennsylvania’s Medicaid program (except in cases of rape, incest
or to avert the death of the mother).
These bills would guarantee that the
taxpayer supported plans in the federal government’s new health insurance exchange
are in line with this long-standing policy.
Taxpayers
strongly oppose abortion coverage in the health insurance exchanges.
In the heat of the health care
reform debate, CNN found that six in 10 Americans favor a ban on the use of
federal funds for abortion (November 2009). Quinnipiac University found that
67% of Americans oppose allowing abortions to be paid for by public funds under
a health care reform bill (January 2010).
Pennsylvania has a long pro-life
tradition. If these polls were conducted here today, the numbers of taxpayers opposing
abortion coverage would be even higher.
About 20 states have already opted out
of abortion coverage in health insurance exchanges.
Without clear statutory
prohibitions, public dollars could be spent on a program which includes elective
abortion coverage. We cannot allow that to happen in Pennsylvania.

Natural Family Planning Conference in Philadelphia
NFP is an umbrella term for certain methods used to achieve and avoid pregnancies. These methods are based on observation of the naturally occurring signs and symptoms of the fertile and infertile phases of a woman's menstrual cycle. Couples using NFP to avoid pregnancy abstain from intercourse and genital contact during the fertile phase of the woman's cycle. No drugs, devices, or surgical procedures are used to avoid pregnancy.
NFP reflects the dignity of the human person within the context of marriage and family life, promotes openness to life, and recognizes the value of the child. By respecting the love-giving and life-giving natures of marriage, NFP can enrich the bond between husband and wife. (USCCB)
On Saturday, April 20, the 11th annual
Natural Family Planning Conference will be held at St. Helena’s parish hall in
Blue Bell, PA . Information and registration form are provided in the link
below.
