YouTube Suspends Abortion Pill Reversal Videos, Silencing Women Who Chose Life

(Pregnancy Help News) Last week, YouTube suspended the Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) account for “repeated or severe violations of [the] Community Guidelines.” Four videos were posted to the account. The “offending” videos included one webinar explaining APR in scientific and medical terms. The remaining three told the stories of women who chose life for their babies using the APR protocol.

Citing its policies on “harmful or dangerous content,” YouTube opted to suspend the APR account entirely, explaining that it “doesn’t allow content that encourages or promotes violent or dangerous acts that have an inherent risk of serious physical harm or death.” Examples of videos that violate this policy are videos about “instructional bomb making, choking games, hard drug use, or 

other acts where serious injury may result.”

Above is one of the videos that YouTube deemed “harmful or dangerous.”

The move comes mere weeks after a new study found that the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol is both safe and effective for women who change their mind after beginning a chemical abortion. The study, which followed 754 women who wanted to stop their in-progress chemical abortion, reported a 68 percent success rate in reversing the effects of mifepristone, the first pill in the two-part chemical abortion process.

The APR protocol involves administering progesterone to counteract the first abortion pill. Progesterone is FDA-approved and has been used to prevent miscarriage since the 1950s. Since 2007, over 500 women have used the APR protocol to save their babies from abortion. Today, the protocol is backed by a network of 350 medical providers.

Heartbeat International, which took the reins of the APR Network and Hotline (1-877-558-0333) just weeks ago, has begun the formal appeal process with YouTube.

Heartbeat International is no stranger to efforts to silence the life-saving APR message. Despite its safety and efficacy, the protocol has come under fire from abortion advocates, who oppose a woman’s right to choose not to finish an unwanted abortion. Since early 2016, Heartbeat International has successfully defeated multiple efforts by California bureaucrats to prevent nurses from learning about the life-saving protocol.

“It’s hard to understand why YouTube would treat the rescuing of babies from an abortion pill the same as terrorism videos,” said Jor-El Godsey, President of Heartbeat International. “On closer investigation, we believe YouTube will find that these videos in no way resemble such dangerous or harmful content.”

YouTube Quietly Relies on Pro-Abortion Organization to Censor Content

Silicon Valley has enormous power over the flow of information that reaches people around the globe. That’s why it’s vital for Americans to understand how tech giants can manipulate information, either intentionally or unwittingly, to advance a political agenda.

A report by The Daily Caller said that YouTube, which is owned by Google, is using the Southern Poverty Law Center, a left-wing activist nonprofit that bills itself as an objective civil rights organization, to assist in policing content on its video-sharing website.

In 2016, YouTube was accused of censoring PragerU videos, and more recently, Google was lambasted for creating a seemingly partisan “fact-checker” function for its search engine that almost exclusively targeted right-leaning media outlets.

“The left-wing nonprofit [SPLC]—which has more recently come under fire for labeling legitimate conservative organizations as ‘hate groups’—is one of the more than 100 nongovernment organizations … and government agencies in YouTube’s ‘Trusted Flaggers’ program,” according to The Daily Caller.

The Daily Signal asked Google if and why it has collaborated with the Southern Poverty Law Center, but it did not respond as of the time of publishing this article. A variety of media sources, including CNN and ABC, cite the Southern Poverty Law Center as an authoritative source on what can be defined as a “hate group.”

But the group has been very loose about how it defines hate, and often recklessly lumps mainstream conservative organizations in with Nazis and other extremist groups. Even Politico has warned that the Southern Poverty Law Center may now be overstepping its bounds by increasingly casting a wider net as its politics drift further to the left.

For instance, the Southern Poverty Law Center recently released a report on “male supremacy,” which it defines as an ideology that “misrepresents all women as genetically inferior, manipulative, and stupid, and reduces them to their reproductive or sexual function.”

The report listed a number of organizations it considers male supremacy “hate groups,” which included American Enterprise Institute scholar Christina Hoff Sommers. Sommers has questioned modern feminist orthodoxy, including the factual basis behind the allegedgender wage gap.

In an interview with The Weekly Standard, Sommers said of her placement on the list: 

“I completely reject that. This is a group I used to admire. They once went after Klan members and Nazis and now … [they go after] people like Ben Carson and Ayaan Hirsi Ali. It’s absurd.”

“They’re blacklisting in place of engaging with arguments. They blacklist you, rather than try to refute you,” Sommers said.

Smarter Every Day is one of my favorite channels on YouTube. I’m not a big science/physics buff. But Destin manages to make it all really fun and interesting.

A few years ago I shared with you one of my favorite SED videos “Why You Didn’t Die at Childbirth“, explaining how human beings go from breathing fluid inside the mother’s womb to breathing air after birth. Quite fascinating.

This year he sort of followed up on that video after the birth of his fourth child. Here, after sharing some other pregnancy/childbirthing insights he and his wife have learned over the years, he describes experiencing the above change in his newborn daughter first-hand, noting how childbirth “changes hearts on many levels.”

The design and construction of human life is so awesomely perfect. And, while I can’t speak from any childbirth experience of my own, I can say that my heart has been forever changed in the past 16 months thanks to the births of my nephews.

Gosh I miss those little weirdos so much already!
