Pro-Lifers Save Two Babies by Singing Christmas Carols Outside Abortion Centers

By Lisa Bourne
Life Site News

Pro-life advocates singing Christmas carols outside abortion facilities saved at least two lives from abortion this past weekend.

In Wood Dale, Illinois, a woman left the abortion facility where pro-life carolers were signing and came to tell them she and her boyfriend decided to keep their baby.

Similarly in Orange, California, a woman who had been moved by the caroling came out of the Planned Parenthood there, telling pro-lifers she had decided to keep her child.

Pro-lifers were able to get the Illinois couple to a local pregnancy center and give them a gift of baby booties for their child, according the Pro-Life Action League, and the California woman was also directed to a local pregnancy center and given a baby sweater for her child on the way.

The group has organized pro-life caroling in some form for 16 years, most recently with the Peace in the Womb theme.

“The fifth annual Peace in the Womb caroling day was a great success,” Pro-Life Action League Assistant Communications Director Matthew Yonke told LifeSiteNews. “With 96 locations nationwide, we brought the message of Christmas hope to abortion facilities from New York to California and all points between.”
With Christmas approaching, the Pro-Life Action League organizes the event as a reminder that while many are making joyful holiday plans, some mothers facing untimely pregnancies are making “much more sorrowful plans” in planning an abortion.

So to bring the light of Christmas to one of the darkest places there is – where babies are aborted – pro-life Christmas carolers met outside the Chicago-area abortion facilities and others this past Saturday, with the message of Christmas hope.

The Pro-Life Action League registered Peace in the Womb caroling events in some 30-plus states between Saturday and other December dates, with some still to come.

The Peace in the Womb caroling day allows pro-lifers to let women seeking abortions know through the Christmas hymns and their presence that there are other hopeful options, and to make help available to the women if they choose life for their child.

More than 90 people turned out Saturday to sing carols for the seven different abortion facilities in the two Illinois caroling tours – four on the Chicago tour, and three in DuPage County.

“We were thrilled to hear about two babies saved from abortion this year – that we know of,” Yonke said, “and there were very few negative interactions with police or passersby.”

Without Jesus suffering and His death there would be no healing for sinners and no Easter Sunday.

August 9, 2007: Pro-Life Action League Squares Off With Planned Parenthood in Aurora, Illinois

By Eric Scheidler
Pro-Life Action League

On August 9, 2007, the Pro-Life Action League began what would become one of the most important campaigns in our 37 year history—the fight against Planned Parenthood’s Aurora, Illinois mega-center. The facility, which was the first step in Planned Parenthood’s strategy of shifting from small clinics in many communities to building large, regional mega-centers, was brought into Aurora, Illinois under a cloud of deceit.

They lied to the state of Illinois about their tax status, to the city government of Aurora about who they were and what their intentions were, and, by extension, to the people of Aurora who were given no notice whatsoever that the largest abortion clinic in the country at the time was about to move into their backyard.

The ensuing struggle was a pitched battle with thousands of pro-lifers joining the fight to stop the nation’s largest abortion chain from opening their new flagship center in their town, making it, in the words of Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards, “Ground Zero” in the abortion war.

While the facility did eventually open, the battle itself had huge ramifications for the future of the Pro-Life Action League, and the pro-life movement as a whole.

Click here to read a detailed history of the fight against Planned Parenthood in Aurora, Illinois.

In the You Tube above, Pro-Life Action League executive director Eric Scheidler shares some reflections on this poignant anniversary. Look for more posts looking back on this historic chapter in the Pro-Life Action League’s history in the months ahead!

"Face the Truth" Tour Kicks Off This Week‏

From Eric Scheidler,Executive Director
Pro-Life Action League

The pro-life movement has scored some huge victories in the last few weeks with the Supreme Court's rulings in the Hobby Lobbyreligious freedom case and the McCullen sidewalk counseling case.

But did you know that BOTH of these victories started with GRASSROOTS ACTION?

Public protest against the HHS Mandate gave rise to the Hobby Lobby case, and the sidewalk counseling case came out of Eleanor McCullen's direct outreach to abortion-bound mothers.

That's why I'm so eager to hit the road with the Pro-Life Action League's summer "Face the Truth" Tour, July 11 to 19.

On the Truth Tour, League staff and scores of volunteers take large posters of abortion victims out to busy intersections to bring the reality of abortion to the public.

It's a controversial tactic, but it needs to be done. The 3,000 daily victims of abortion cannot remain hidden, unseen by the very society that condones their legal murder.

But I need YOUR help for this peaceful, prayerful campaign to succeed. Specifically, I'm asking for your PRAYERS.

Will you please keep me, my staff and the hundreds of volunteers who will be hitting the streets on the Tour in your prayers in the coming days?

Please pray also for the thousands who will pass by and see these disturbing pictures. Pray that hearts be moved, minds be changed and lives be saved by this powerful display.

Finally, pray for the police who will be out there protecting our First Amendment right to conduct the Truth Tour and preventing the opposition from making trouble.

You can find the full schedule for the Tour -- so you'll know exactly when we need your prayers most -- right here:

http://prolifeaction.org.truthtours

Abortion supporters like Planned Parenthood depend on slogans like "women's rights" and "reproductive choice" to keep the American people confused and apathetic about abortion.

But when you have to literally stare abortion victims in the face, Planned Parenthood's propaganda crumbles. That's what the Truth Tour is all about.

Thanks so much for your prayers and support in the coming days.

PROOF That Prayers at the Abortion Clinic REALLY WORK

From Eric Scheidler, Executive Director
Pro-Life Action League

I'd like to share a moving story that powerfully illustrates everything the Pro-Life Action League stands for -- and why your prayers and support for the League matter so much.

This is a story STRAIGHT from the front lines.

It happened to an activist named Linda at Planned Parenthood's huge "Abortion Fortress" in Aurora, Illinois. The League has led the effort to save babies there -- and shut it down in court -- since 2007.

Here's what happened, in Linda's own words:

That day a young man drove by, stopped, and motioned me over. He has seen those praying daily as he passes by. He told me that seeing people pray "gave me the strength to fight for my baby."

His pregnant girlfriend wanted an abortion, but Dad fought for his baby and on the previous Saturday, the "happiest day of my life," his son was born.

His words over and over to me were, "Do not think that you are unnoticed!"

Linda was ECSTATIC at what this man had told her. She's been out there praying at Planned Parenthood for SIX YEARS, as have so many others. Little did they know that, week by week, this man was driving by and seeing them, taking it all in. And then, when the critical moment came, he remembered their witness and fought for his unborn baby!

What's interesting about this story is that this new father had no direct contact with anyone in the pro life movement. He and his girlfriend never talked to a sidewalk counselor. They never visited a pro-life pregnancy center.

All that happened was that this father saw people PRAYING outside an abortion clinic, day after day. That witness was enough to inspire him to fight for his baby's life.

Linda and all those others wouldn't have been out there praying all those countless hours if the Pro-Life Action League hadn't recruited and equipped them for this pro-life mission.

But the League can't deploy these life-saving prayer warriors without the generous support of faithful pro-lifers like YOU.

That's why I wanted to take a moment out of my busy day to share this inspiring story with you.

Remember the words that young father said to Linda: "Do not think that you are unnoticed!" My message to you is, do not think your support for the Pro-Life Action League doesn't matter.

If you're inspired by this father's story of fighting to save his son from abortion, please follow the link below to keep the Pro-Life Action League's public pro-life witness going strong:

Through prayer vigils outside abortion facilities and sidewalk counseling, we reach out to abortion-bound women and couples with abortion alternatives, confidential counseling, access to pregnancy resources and other help, and witness to the value of the lives being destroyed inside.

We believe sidewalk counseling is the most important pro-life work God has given us to do. Praying outside abortion clinics is the first step in becoming directly involved fighting abortion.

A New Pro-Life Generation

Teens at a "Youth for Truth" rally outside Planned Parenthood in Aurora, IL

A significant change in our culture has gone largely unnoticed: young people are more pro-life than their elders. Generations for Life is the Pro-Life Action League's outreach to this new pro-life generation.

Generations for Life empowers teens to be effective pro-life leaders by helping them to establish lively pro-life clubs within their own high school communities and youth groups. Visit the Generations for Life blog for the latest GFL news.
Transforming the Culture

Generations for Life is on the leading edge of a growing youth movement to transform the culture and usher in an era of reverence for all human life from conception to natural death—a culture in which all people, whatever their age, ability, background or physical condition, are treated as members of one human family and children of God.
