WATCH: Woman Leaves Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinic. “My Baby Has a Heartbeat?”

The pro-life advocate assured her that unborn babies have heartbeats as early as 16 days after conception.

One simple fact can make all the difference in the world for a mother considering abortion.

Recently, a pro-life advocate with Created Equal spoke with a mother outside the Planned Parenthood abortion facility in St. Louis, Missouri. When he told her that her unborn baby already has a heartbeat, the mother responded with surprise and began to think twice about going through with her scheduled abortion.

“My baby has a heartbeat?” she asked in surprise.

The pro-life advocate assured her that unborn babies have heartbeats as early as 16 days after conception.

Many years ago, scientific research established that an unborn baby’s heart starts beating around 21 days after fertilization. Many sources on fetal development report this, though others link to evidence that the heartbeat begins at about 18 days. In 2016, researchers at the University of Oxford found evidence that an unborn baby’s heart may begin beating even earlier – by 16 days after conception, according to the Daily Mail.

The sidewalk counselor shared these facts with the woman, and told her that her unborn baby already may have “hands and limbs and feet and eyes like yours, and a nose” as well. Arms and legs begin to form between four to six weeks of pregnancy, while fingers and toes begin forming between six and eight weeks. Brainwaves are detectable around 8 ½ weeks, according to the Endowment for Human Development.

The woman seemed surprised by these facts and accepted the pregnancy resource information that the man provided. He told her about a pregnancy resource center nearby and explained how it offers free ultrasounds and the opportunity to hear her baby’s heartbeat. He said it also provides resources up to two years after her baby is born, including maternity and baby clothes, diapers and more.

The woman told him that she did not want an abortion, but she has four other children and struggles financially. Their conversation concluded with the woman saying she planned to leave the abortion facility and head to the pregnancy center to hear her baby’s heartbeat.

She Was an Abortion Activist, Now Sue is a Pro-Life Advocate Glorifying God

“Our God is so big and so good that he not only has forgiven me and washed me clean, but He has turned me around and given me a voice in the [pro-life] movement.”

Sue Swayze Liebel spent two decades as an abortion activist before God completely changed her life.

Now, she works in the pro-life movement as the national pro-life women’s caucus coordinator for the Susan B. Anthony List and vice president for public affairs at Indiana Right to Life. She recently spoke with EWTN Pro-Life Weekly about her conversion experience.

“I was pro-choice, pro-everything, quite on the liberal scale,” she said.

She began working in politics and lobbied for abortion as part of her career. Liebel also said she had an abortion at one point in her life, and it became “a nightmare” that would not go away.

For two decades, Liebel continued her liberal lobbying work. Looking back now, she said she can see how God was preparing her for a big change.

“It was on June 4, 2005, at 10:15 in the morning, the Lord said to me, ‘I’ve given you these skills and talents, and now you’re going to use them for me,’” she remembered.

She said she accepted God’s forgiveness for her abortion and many other things, and became pro-life that day.

Liebel still is a lobbyist, but now she works to protect unborn babies and help women avoid the pain of abortion that she knows all too well. She said she sees her political work as a mission field.

“I pinch myself every day, I can’t believe that the Lord’s forgiveness is so great,” she told the Catholic news station.

“Our God is so big and so good that he not only has forgiven me and washed me clean, but he has turned me around and given me a voice in the movement.”

'God is Watching Over Me: This Successful Woman with Down Syndrome is Blazing a Trail Against Abortion

Karen Gaffney is an extraordinarily successful woman. She has swum the English channel, given a stunning TEDx talk and even received an honorary doctorate. She is also a fierce advocate for the unborn.

Oh, and she has Down syndrome. Because of her unique accomplishments and background, Gaffney has become a highly sought-after speaker at pro-life events.

“I want my voice to be heard,” Gaffney said during a recent speech at OneLife LA, a pro-life event in Los Angeles. “And I want my message to come through loud and clear.”

Shocking news broke out of Iceland last year, when it was revealed that the nation had an almost 100 percent abortion rate for babies with Down syndrome.

With these tragic realities in mind, Gaffney’s testimony and advocacy is more important than ever.

“I think the Iceland story was so shocking to so many people,” Jeanne Mancini, president of March for Life, told Religion News Service. “They just didn’t know that this is a situation.”

But Down syndrome has been thrust into the limelight for more positive reasons lately. As Faithwire previously reported, Lucas Warren, a 1-year-old from Dalton, Georgia, became the first child with Down syndrome ever to be named as the iconic “Gerber baby.”

“Every year, we choose the baby who best exemplifies Gerber’s longstanding heritage of recognizing that every baby is a Gerber baby,” Bill Partyka, CEO and president of Gerber, said. “This year, Lucas is the perfect fit.”

“We’re hoping this will impact everyone — that it will shed a little bit of light on the special needs community and help more individuals with special needs be accepted and not limited,” Lucas’s dad, Jason Warren, added. “They have the potential to change the world, just like everybody else.”

Gaffney couldn’t agree more.

“I want to inspire so many people with Down syndrome and really tell them that people like me can live,” she said.

But Gaffney is doing so much more in this world than merely existing. The Catholic high school graduate works as a research assistant at Portland’s Oregon Health and Science University. And if that’s not enough, this amazing woman also runs her own foundation!

“The Karen Gaffney Foundation is a non profit organization that is dedicated to championing the journey to full inclusion in families, schools, communities and the workplace for people with Down syndrome or other developmental disabilities,” details the organization’s website.

Vice President Mike Pence: “I Truly Believe” Abortion Will be Abolished “in Our Time”

With hard work and perseverance, abortion will be abolished “in our time,” Vice President Mike Pence said Tuesday.

Pence encouraged pro-life advocates during the 2018 National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Tennessee. He was a keynote speaker at a luncheon organized by Susan B. Anthony List and Life Issues Institute, which recently merged.

“I truly do believe, if all of us do all that we can, that we will once again, in our time, restore the sanctity of life to the center of American law. But we have to do the work,” Pence said, according to Newsweek.

He said the passion and love demonstrated by young pro-life advocates brings him hope for the future.

“I mean, for all the progress since 1973, the resilience of this movement proceeding out of the heart of a compassionate nation, I just know in my heart of hearts that this will be the generation that restores life in America,” he said.

In contrast, he said abortion activists have become increasingly radical. They have abandoned moderates who oppose late-term abortions and taxpayer-funded abortions, and are openly embracing abortion on demand. Pence mentioned the 20-week abortion ban as evidence; it narrowly failed in the U.S. Senate after pro-abortion Democrats and two pro-abortion Republicans rejected the moderate abortion limit.

“The truth of matter is the other side, the other party, continues to go farther and farther to the left,” Pence said.

The liberal Huffington Post acted surprised at Pence’s remarks, as if his pro-life stance is something new:

He called for the activists in the room to work ever harder to help “restore the sanctity of life to the center of American law.” He then made a stunning suggestion: that legal abortion could “once again” be banned in the U.S., and that it could happen “in our time.”

… the vice president announced that “life is winning in America once again,” before ticking off the many policies enacted under Trump aimed at limiting access to abortions.

Pence said Trump has kept his word about supporting pro-life policies, including the Mexico City Policy, which prohibits taxpayer funding to groups that promote or provide abortions overseas. Trump also signed a law that makes it easier for states to defund the abortion giant Planned Parenthood.

“[F]rom the very first day of this administration, President Trump has been keeping his word,” Pence said, according to the AP.

Pence is one of the most sincere and passionate pro-life advocates to ever serve in the White House. In 2017, he became the first vice president to address the March for Life. A former U.S. Congressman and governor of Indiana, Pence has a lengthy pro-life record that shows his dedication to protecting unborn babies and mothers from abortion.

Pro-Life Advocate Won’t Have to Spend 60 Days in Jail for Saving Babies Outside an Abortion Clinic

On the eve of a trial to determine whether a pro-life protester should be convicted, jailed 60 days and fined $750 for violating an Oklahoma ordinance that makes it a crime to play or create “loud and unusual sounds,” prosecutors dismissed their case against activist Toby Harmon.

The Rutherford Institute came to Harmon’s defense after he was charged with disturbing the peace in connection with a pro-life demonstration outside a Norman abortion clinic last March. 

The dismissal came after Rutherford Institute attorneys filed a brief arguing that the local ordinance is unconstitutionally vague and does not provide fair warning of prohibited conduct or explicit standards for enforcement.

Affiliate attorney Andrea Worden of the Worden Law Firm in Norman assisted The Rutherford Institute in its defense of Harmon’s First Amendment rights.

“Free speech is not for those who are easily offended, readily intimidated or who need everything wrapped in a neat and tidy bow. Free speech is often messy, foul-mouthed, obscene, intolerant, undignified, insensitive, cantankerous, bawdy and volatile.

While free speech can also be tender, tolerant, soft-spoken, sensitive and sweet, it is free speech’s hot-blooded alter ego—the wretched, brutal, beastly Mr. Hyde to its restrained, dignified and civil Dr. Jekyll–that tests the limits of our so-called egalitarian commitment to its broad-minded principles,” said constitutional attorney John W. Whitehead (photo), president of The Rutherford Institute and author of Battlefield America: The War on the American People.

He added: “Americans would do well to remember that free societies cherish free speech, relish open debates and controversy and, in turn, produce a robust citizenry who will stand against authoritarian government. Indeed, oppressive regimes of the past have understood the value of closed-mouthed, closed-minded citizens and the power inherent in controlling speech and, thus, controlling how a people view their society and government.”

Donald Trump Names Pro-Life Advocate Kellyanne Conway as Campaign Manager

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign today made major shakeups in an attempt to catch pro-abortion Hillary Clinton, who is leading both national polls as well as surveys of voters in key battleground states. Trump has appointed Kellyanne Conway as Campaign Manager and Steve Bannon as Campaign CEO.

One key pro-life leader praised the move — noting that both Conway and Bannon are pro-life advocates.

“I have known and trusted Kellyanne Conway my entire professional life,” Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser told LifeNews.com today. “No one is better at understanding what real people are thinking and how to connect with them than Kellyanne. She and Steve both understand the importance of effectively communicating the pro-life position and leveraging the passion of the pro-life grassroots in winning elections. No two could be better positioned to help Donald Trump to take on and expose Hillary Clinton’s extremism in this general election.”

Dannenfelser said Donald Trump has pledged, if elected, to advance and sign into law the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, to defund Planned Parenthood, and to appoint pro-life Justices to the Supreme Court.

Recently, Trump released a well-received list of 11 potential Supreme Court nominees — a list pro-life groups hailed for having strong supporters of the Constitution. Trump also recently hired a key pro-life advocate has his domestic policy director.
