Egyptian Government Pushes for Population Control

Jonathan Abbamonte

The Egyptian Government has long implemented programs to encourage smaller families and birth control usage. But far more intrusive population control policies—including a two-child cap for welfare recipients and a proposed incentive scheme for one-child families—may soon be introduced by the government if certain Egyptian lawmakers get their way.

In a statement issued on November 22, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli announced that, starting in January 2019, the government will put a two-child-per-family cap on welfare payments in order to reach more families in need and in order to reduce the country's population growth rate.

"[T]he government has decided not to give any kind of monetary subsidies to families with three children," Prime Minister Madbouli said in his address, according to reporting from Ahram Online.

"We will target these families, and all should know that the runaway growth of population is a big threat to the economic development in this country," Madbouli said.

Police Brutality Happens Every Day in China

The One-Child Policy Is Still Violently Enforced

by Anne Roback Morse

On April 30th, Congressman Chris Smith chaired a hearing on population control in China in the U.S. Capitol. The hearing covered appalling human rights abuses—police brutality, illegal detention, torture, forced abortion, and coerced sterilization—under China’s population control program. Sadly, only a handful of journalists covered this important hearing.

Maybe this lack of coverage is because China is on the other side of the world. Or maybe the hearing was ignored because when people hear “family planning” they think about clinics with shiny pink brochures about Pap smears. Whatever the reason, much of the world regards the ongoing abuses of China’s one-child policy with—as Congressman Chris Smith noted last week—“breathtaking indifference.”

The expert witnesses laid out a case that China’s one-child policy is a demographic nightmare, and that the Communist Party only continues this policy to dominate the social and personal life of its citizens.

Dr. Nicholas Eberstadt, a demographer at the American Enterprise Institute, testified to the catastrophically skewed sex ratios created by the one-child policy. Eberstadt stated “about 25% of Chinese men in late thirties, and over 20% of those in their early forties, would be never-married by the year 2030.”

Following Dr. Eberstadt, Dr. Hudson testified on public policies necessary to end sex-selective abortions. Based on a comparative study between China’s neighbors, South Korea and Vietnam, she concluded that to end sex-selective abortions, “Coercive fertility limitation policies should be removed.”

What's in Her Tetanus Shot?

As women across Kenya reject their “help,” population controllers have sunk to new lows:
Mass sterilizations of unsuspecting women, through a common immunization?

From Steven W. Mosher, President
Population Research Institute

Recently we’ve heard from Catholic bishops in Kenya, where many women refuse to accept the birth control being pushed on them by population controllers.

These women want what God wants for them: More babies.

But in a barbaric display of contempt for Church teachings and for women and babies, population controllers in Kenya are seemingly refusing to take “no” for an answer. Kenya’s Catholic bishops believe that population control groups are sterilizing women without their knowledge or consent.

The bishops fear that “health workers” in Kenya are lacing legitimate medication (a tetanus vaccine) with beta-hCG, an abortifacient proven to sterilize women and kill unborn babies. And the Kenyan government simply looks the other way. (Photo above is a stock photo to protect these women's privacy.)

At the urging of Kenya’s bishops, the Population Research Institute (PRI) is dispatching one of the world’s leading epidemiologists and his aides to Kenya, to investigate this horrific crime.

But I need your continued help to end this and other crimes against women and babies by continuing to support PRI with a tax-deductible year-end gift today.

When PRI proves the Kenyan bishops right, and our research findings are made public, the world will be shocked and outraged.

And you will have been one of the faithful who helped reveal the truth through your continued support of PRI.

But without your ongoing assistance, we will be spread thin to protect the rights of women and babies in Kenya and around the world.

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, please send a gift of any size in Jesus’s name today.

Note: When the Nazis sterilized Jews and others in Europe, historians called it the Holocaust. When officials sterilized mentally disabled people and minorities in the U.S., Hollywood called for the screen rights. But when population controllers sterilize women in Kenya against their will and without their knowledge, they call it “health care.”

If you haven’t already, please help PRI continue its work to educate and advocate  to end this and other despicable practices in the name of population control. Thank you, and God bless you and your family this Christmas, and always.
