'Unplanned' Movie's Abby Johnson Shares How Motherhood Moved Her to Leave Planned Parenthood

“Being a mom…softened my heart to be able to listen to that whisper of God saying, ‘You can’t do this anymore.'”

The name “Grace” came to Abby Johnson out of the blue one day while drying her hair during her pregnancy with her first child. She recalled thinking, simply, “I like the name Grace!”

Though a Christian, Johnson had not yet come to fully recognize the conflicts her job presented regarding her faith. Nor had she realized what a fitting name Grace would come to be for her daughter, whose first months of life played out with her mother as a Planned Parenthood manager.
“I look at how much my life was shaped because of my pregnancy with her, because of who she was,” Johnson says of Grace. “Being a mom … softened my heart to be able to listen to that whisper of God saying, ‘You can’t do this anymore.'”
Her revelation led eventually to a decision to leave the abortion giant, where she was steadily rising within the ranks, to dedicate her life to warning others of the organization’s deceptive aims and leading other workers away from the industry through her organization, And Then There Were None.

In May, Johnson talked about her journey with a group of faith-based reporters at a coffee shop in Oklahoma City during a break of the filming of “Unplanned,” the movie based on her memoir of the same title, which details her conversion, to be shown in theaters this spring.

Johnson said being on set of the film of her life story was interesting. The first scene she saw brought her face to face with a moment just after co-workers had given her a baby shower at the clinic.
“Watching (the actress) walk out of the set and seeing her get in her car, and have a conversation with the person at the fence, it was very emotional for me,” Johnson says. “I’m watching … this confused person that I was, this person who was constantly trying to justify what she did … it was hard watching someone play the worst version of yourself.
Ashley Bratcher (“War Room”) plays Johnson, and joined the discussion that evening, sharing a riveting discovery linking her to Johnson’s story. She’d only been on set four days when, in a phone discussion with her mother, learned that she’d almost been aborted.

“She said, ‘I was actually at the clinic,'” Bratcher said, recounting the story her mother told her of hearing her name being called, being led to the exam table, and deciding right there on the table that she couldn’t go through with it, and how she “got up and walked out.”

Pro-Life Women Are Not A Minority, And The Media Can’t Comprehend This

By Jeanne Mancini, March for Life
The Daily Caller

As a woman, I do not identify at all with the opinions expressed in Cosmo’s recent article “Abandoning Abortion Rights Means Abandoning Women”. We are not abandoned, we are empowered.

Anyone who says otherwise does not speak for me, nor for the millions of women across the United States who firmly believe that being pro-life and pro-woman go hand in hand.

Pro-life women are not a “fringe minority”. In fact, we are a part of the nearly 8 in 10 majority of Americans that support major abortion restrictions, including restricting abortion to the first 3 months of pregnancy.
Politically speaking, respect for the dignity of all human life is a consistently a winning issue that both parties should embrace. The 2016 election is clear evidence of this.

In an extreme departure from the “safe, legal and rare” mantra, in last year’s presidential election, the Democratic National Committee platform not only abandoned the 26% of Democrats who identify as pro-life, but the 44% of their base who do not want their tax dollars funding abortion, by advocating for unlimited abortion access and a full repeal of the Hyde amendment, which, until that time had widely been considered popular, bipartisan policy. Meanwhile,

Donald Trump committed to “work to support the dignity of human life from conception to natural, dignified death” during his campaign and was elected President.

This is not “fringe”. Pro-life women are not a “discomforted set” of society clinging to an archaic anthem of female subservience. We are CEOs, lawyers, doctors, teachers, writers, baristas, college students, and everything in between, and we believe that our unique capacity for motherhood does not lessen our ambition, but rather, furthers our potential for greatness.

Feminists Blast Serena Williams For Her Heartfelt Comment About Motherhood

By Cortney O'Brien
Life News

Serena Williams is one of the most decorated female tennis players in history, having been No. 1 in the world multiple times. Yet, her recent remarks about motherhood suggest she won’t be missing the court all that much with her bundle of joy to look forward to. In an interview with Stellar Magazine, Williams declared that she won’t feel like a “real woman” until she has her first child.

“I have so much respect for so many women (for giving birth.), she told Stellar Magazine. “I am about to be a real woman now, you know? It’s going to be something incredibly impressive to go through.”
Even Serena Williams, who should be every feminist’s hero with her never ending list of accolades, was not safe from feminists’ ire after making those innocuous remarks.

Others lambasted the tennis star for her remarks by noting that some women choose not to have a baby or physically cannot conceive.

Their criticism missed the mark a bit, as Williams presumably did not mean to attack women with physical limitations. Motherhood is something to be celebrated. It’s a joy of life. What Williams said was not sexist or backward – it was beautiful.
