Rev. Mike Salemink, Executive Director of Lutherans for Life Discusses 'Word of Hope' Ministry

Lutherans for Life

Patty Hunter, TV Producer in Ft. Wayne, IN talks with the Rev. Mike Salemink, Executive Director of Lutherans for Life. They discuss the work of Lutherans for Life and the outreach ministry of Word of Hope. Word of Hope writes:
"If you are in a crisis situation, have had an abortion, are pregnant right now, or have been hurt by someone: At Word-of-Hope, you will find hope." Taped at Concordia Theological Seminary May 11, 2017 for Access Fort Wayne.
Mission
Our mission is to equip Lutherans so that they understand that the life issues of our time are much more than controversial political issues. They are grave spiritual issues, for they assault the Creator of Life and insult the Lord of Life. In short, our mission is to change hearts. Those with changed hearts will change society. Only God, working through the power of His Gospel, can change hearts. That is why the Gospel motivates all that we do.

Save the Date! Lutherans for Life National Conference be be Held in October

2014 Lutherans For Life National Conference online registration will be available at a later date.

Check back for more information and to register.

Our 2014 Lutherans For Life National Conference theme is Matters of the Heart.

Our aim is to help people better understand that the life issues are not political issues, but spiritual issues that have been politicized. These issues touch people’s very souls. They challenge their faith. The Church needs to be speaking to its own on these issues before challenging them to engage the culture.

We have what it takes to address Matters of the Heart—the Gospel of Jesus!

We want people to see the connection between this message of forgiveness and hope and issues like abortion and assisted suicide.

We certainly want Christians to engage the culture, but as LFL’s mission statement says, as “Gospel-motivated voices For Life.”

Lutherans For Life | Thrivent

Thrivent

DATE: January 29, 2014
CATEGORY: Sharing the Message of Lutherans For Life, Abortion and the Church
Rev. Dr. James Lamb, executive director of Lutherans For Life:
"Thrivent claims to be 'neutral' on 'controversial issues' and yet they have once again closed the door to Lutherans For Life and other life-affirming ministries to receive Choice Dollars. LFL will lose nearly $2,000 monthly in contributions because of this decision ... Now we learn that they continue to fund pro-abortion groups like Planned Parenthood and NARAL through their financial Gift Multiplier program. There is no neutrality in this. It is simply theologically impossible to claim to be 'Christian' and 'faith-based' and at the same time support the intentional killing of unborn children created by God and for whom Jesus died."
