Woman Who Almost Aborted Her Daughter Defends Pro-Life Counseling

by Nancy Flanders
Live Action News

Abortion activists in the UK are calling for laws to prohibit abortion protesters from being too close to clinics. But one woman, who herself was headed to abort her daughter, is praising pro-life activists and crediting them with saving her daughter’s life.

In an interview with BBC, Suzan Briggs, a 27 year old mother of four, said she is thankful that the pro-life group Abort67 was there when she headed to the abortion clinic while pregnant with her fourth child. Fearing that she couldn’t handle having another child, Briggs decided that abortion was the only choice so she scheduled the appointment. She told BBC:

CHAIR OF NEW JERSEY'S SENATE HEALTH COMMITTEE SCHEDULES A2270/S382 FOR DISCUSSION PURPOSES ONLY.

Limits Testimony to "Invited" Guests‏

From Marie Tasy, Executive Director
New Jersey Right to Life

The Physician Assisted Suicide bill has been scheduled for a hearing for discussion purposes only on Monday, December 8th at 1 p.m. before the Senate Health Committee. The Chair of the Committee, Senator Vitale, issued a notice yesterday stating that only invited guests would be allowed to testify. This is an obvious effort to shut out the powerful voices of opposition on this issue.

At this time, we are asking you to do the following:

1. Even though the bill has been scheduled for discussion purposes only this time, you should call and email members of the Senate Health Committee. Tell them to please vote No on Bill A2270/S382. Their contact information is below.

2. Contact your own State Senator and urge them to vote No on A2270/S382. You can send a pre-written message to your Senator by going to the Action alert using this link.

3. Please plan to come down to the State House to be a presence on Monday, December 8. We will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the State House Cafeteria. We will have stickers on hand that identify our opposition to the bill.

Thank you for taking action to stop assisted suicide in NJ.

Inspectors Find Unsanitary Conditions at Planned Parenthood in Philadelphia

by Micaiah Bilger, Education Director
Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation

Pennsylvania’s abortion center regulations are protecting women and holding abortion centers accountable to basic health and safety standards.

A new report at LifeNews.com says state inspectors found unsanitary conditions, including ripped furniture and detached wall paneling, inside Planned Parenthood Northeast in Philadelphia this September.

Rips and tears may seem like minor issues, but in a health care setting, they can be extremely unsanitary. According to LifeNews.com:

LET THE ABORTED SPEAK

by Reverend Katherine Marple
KeepLifeLegal

What if the one person that could save your life was aborted? Are you really prepared to take the life of a child that could save the world?

I know what you’re thinking…”But I come from nothing, I am nothing, my family is nothing – how can this baby be the one who cures cancer?” I thought the same, too. But we have a bigger God than that! He will use who He will use, He will send who He will send….without your help. But killing a child before they have a chance to try?

Watch the video using this link, it starts at the end and goes to the beginning. And it will haunt you.

New Hearing Set for Kansas Abortionist Whose Phony Mental Health Diagnoses Led to Late-term Abortions

From Operation Rescue

Topeka, KS - An abortionist whose license was revoked in 2012 for providing phony mental health diagnoses that were used to justify otherwise illegal late-term abortions for George Tiller's Women's Health Care Services abortion facility in Wichita, Kansas, will once again appear before the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts on December 11, 2014.

This time, Ann Kristin Neuhaus faces the possibility of getting her medical license back after a county judge ruled earlier this year that the Board wrongly revoked Neuhaus' license and ordered them to reconsider disciplinary measures.

Neuhaus' disciplinary case was based on a complaint filed in 2006 by Cheryl Sullenger, Senior Policy Advisor for Operation Rescue. That complaint also resulted in a similar disciplinary petition against Neuhaus' employer, Tiller, which was pending at the time of his death in 2009.

Operation Rescue is one of the leading pro-life Christian activist organizations in the nation and has become a strong voice for the pro-life movement in America.Operation Rescue is now headquartered in a former abortion clinic that it bought and closed in 2006. From there, Operation Rescue launches its innovative new strategies across the nation, exposing and closing abortion clinics through peaceful, legal means. Its activities are on the cutting edge of the abortion issue, taking direct action to stop abortion and ultimately restore legal personhood to the pre-born in obedience to biblical mandates.

Pushing ABORTION at Christmas?‏

From Eric Scheidler, Executive Director
Pro-Life Action League

Probably the LAST thing on your mind at this time of year is ABORTION. And I can understand that.

What could possibly clash more with this season of preparation for Christmas -- anticipating the joy and hope that comes with the birth of a child -- than the destruction of life in the womb?

Sadly, the abortion industry doesn't see it that way. Over these days before Christmas, SEVENTY THOUSAND babies will be aborted.

Planned Parenthood -- the nation's largest abortion chain -- is even using the holiday season to PROMOTE abortion.

They're selling "Choice on Earth" cards, twisting the words the shepherds heard from the angel chorus: "Peace on earth, good will toward men." They're even selling gift cards that can be used to help pay for an abortion.

Meanwhile, a radical group called FURIE -- "Feminists United to Resist Inequality and Exploitation" -- has chosen the holiday season to begin protesting at pro-life pregnancy centers!

This is the REAL War on Christmas, Unborn!

And that's why I'm emailing you today. I know you care about the true meaning of Christmas. I know you love every child in the womb.

I know that even though you'd rather think of anything other than abortion right now, you won't turn away when I ask for your help confronting the abortion industry's attack on Christmas.

Today is known as "Giving Tuesday" -- an opportunity to shift the focus from working through your Christmas list to helping out those in need.

And right now, no one is in greater need than the tens of thousands of unborn children threatened with abortion this season.

Please consider making a special gift to the Pro-Life Action League for Giving Tuesday this year.

The League's work fighting for the lives of unborn babies doesn't slow down during the holiday season.

In fact, the colder weather and distractions of the season make it that much harder to man the front lines outside abortion clinics. Meanwhile, the abortion industry keeps going full-throttle.

If you can spare even $10 to help out on this Giving Tuesday, I'd be grateful. If God has blessed you with the means to give more, please prayerfully consider a larger gift. Here's the link:

https://give.prolifeaction.org/donate

Through prayer vigils outside abortion facilities and sidewalk counseling, the Pro-Life Action League reaches out to abortion-bound women and couples with abortion alternatives, confidential counseling, access to pregnancy resources and other help, and witness to the value of the lives being destroyed inside.
They believe sidewalk counseling is the most important pro-life work God has given us to do. Praying outside abortion clinics is the first step in becoming directly involved fighting abortion.

Oxford University Refuses Students' Abortion Debate; Triggers UK Free Speech Debate

You've heard of the "Stepford Wives?" Now, meet the "Stepford Students."

From: Breaking Christian News

(Oxford, England)—The small group of pro-life students at Oxford University say that they "didn't ask to be in the middle of a free speech controversy," but the controversy has coalesced around them. The most famous university in the English-speaking world refused to allow a debate on abortion to go ahead last week, citing possible "mental and physical security issues" after the university's officially-sponsored feminist group threatened to disrupt it. (Screenshot via Facebook)
Oxford Students for Life issued a statement expressing their surprise that the debate was canceled, since other debates on similar topics have been sponsored by the group and have been "conducted without a hitch." A member of OSFL, who has asked not to be named, told LifeSiteNews that after the Christ Church college censors refused to allow them to use their booked venue, they had still hoped to go ahead in a new location but there was not enough time, and the event was canceled on the morning of November 18, even as the speakers were arriving.
He told LifeSiteNews, "Whereas feminists used to complain that no opposing view was given [supporting] the opposite side in pro-life talks, here they are objecting to a debate even when the opposing side is given!"
The student said the college censors claimed that because the lecture theatre is in a residential part of the college, "the mob of protestors might have had the capacity to cause physical harm." It was also suggested that the debate could be "triggering" for students who have had abortions.
The debate, scheduled for Tuesday, was to have been between Brendan O'Neill, the popular columnist and editor of Spiked, who has since been heavily critical of the decision to cancel the event, and American historian Tim Stanley. The motion was to have been, "This House believes that abortion culture harms us all."
OSFL added, "Last year in Britain, over 185,000 abortions were carried out. What does this say about our national culture? Is it a sign of equality, or does it suggest we treat human life carelessly?" But the proposal to debate the moral value of abortion prompted howls of protest from self-described feminists in social media.
Brendan O'Neill has been outspoken in his criticism of the cancellation, calling the students involved in shutting it down representative of a new breed of "Stepford students," who are happy to trade their intellectual freedom to "feel comfortable" and ideologically unchallenged. "Heaven help any student who doesn't bow before the Stepford mentality."
O'Neill's response in the Spectator and the Telegraph has garnered much attention, since he was the one who was to have argued in favor of abortion in the debate, and he has published his intended speech for the Spectator.
Wrote O'Neill, in his Spectator piece, "At one of the highest seats of learning on Earth, the democratic principle of free and open debate, of allowing differing opinions to slog it out in full view of discerning citizens, has been violated, and students have been rebranded as fragile creatures, overgrown children who need to be guarded against any idea that might prick their souls or challenge their prejudices."
Both Christ Church College and Oxford University, said Neil Addison, a legal expert in religious discrimination, have "a legal duty" to "ensure that freedom of speech within the law is secured for members, students and employees of the establishment and for visiting speakers."

Doctor Fired for Refusing to Dispense Contraceptives Sues Philadelphia

From BCN
Black Community News

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) is a law firm that represents Christians whose freedom of religion has been infringed. (Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow is a Messianic Jew.) The ACLJ recently filed suit on behalf of college student Brandon Jenkins, who said a community college rejected his application to a program because of his faith.
This week the ACLJ filed suit on a pediatrician’s behalf. Dr. Doris Fernandes, a Roman Catholic, asked for a religious exemption from dispensing contraceptives, including drugs designed to induce abortions. She was allowed an exemption for over 30 years. Then Obamacare happened. An excerpt:
Note from Bill Miller of Bucks County Pro-Life Coalition:

Planned Parenthood Becomes a Religion

By: streiff (Diary)
RedState

One of the most pernicious things the advocates of various deviancies and social pathologies are fond of doing in finding morally corrupt alleged “clergy” and getting them to endorse whatever perversion is in vogue. We’ve seen the homosexual marriage fascists to this with tortured explanations of how the Old Testament ban on sodomy doesn’t really mean sodomy but rather being rude to strangers. Keep in mind, if you believe this you have to believe that you have suddenly discovered a truth that was hidden to Jews of Palestine before the Christian era.

Now Planned Parenthood has weighed in, seeking to make abortion not a grievous moral wrong but rather something that is no big deal in the eyes of the Almighty:
