Affirmative Superbowl Ads? Apparently Not This Time

I’ve been scrounging around, checking to see what ads will be running this Sunday in Superbowl 51 [aka LI]. I hope I missed one that compares with last’s year’s wonderful “Ultrasound.”

On the off-chance you didn’t see or hear about the 2016 ad, here’s a reminder and the backdrop.

PepsiCo, the parent company, had run what it called the “Crash the Super Bowl” contest for a decade. It offered “anyone with an idea and a camera a chance at the big leagues by making their own 30-second spot,” according to AdWeek. 2016 was the last year the competition took place.

The setting for “Ultrasound” is of a mom who is about to deliver watching her baby on the ultrasound. The dad is chewing away on his bag of Doritos.

The mom is not overjoyed and voices her displeasure. Meanwhile you see the baby on the ultrasound reaching for the Doritos chip. Baby and dad play a game of the baby reaching forth and the dad pulling the pick back. This prompts mom to toss one of the chips.

The camera flashes to the ultrasound image. We see the baby disappearing–as in he/she is exiting to find that chip!

Mom yells, dad yells, ultrasound technician yells. Cute.

Pro-Life Governor Nikki Haley from South Carolina has been confirmed to serve as US Ambassador to the United Nations. During Senate confirmation hearings Governor Haley told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that she will oppose abortion on an international level and stated that she is “strongly pro-life.”

Haley, the daughter of immigrants from India, stated during her election for governor,

“I believe every life has a value and is blessed by God–my husband was adopted and my pro-life convictions stem from the fact I feel the blessings of that value every day knowing someone chose life for him. I see it every day in my two children as I watch them grow. My hope is that we continue to encourage and work towards educating that value of life to everyone.”

The appointment and confirmation of pro-life Ambassador Haley to the United Nations brings hope to all who seek to protect women and children from the violence of abortion globally and who struggle against UN elitists who feverishly promote abortion.

Pennsylvania Family Institute Calls Out Planned Parenthood

We called every Planned Parenthood affiliate in PA and asked, "Do you provide prenatal services?" Despite their claims (every affiliate lists "prenatal" on their online appointments page), we discovered that not a single Planned Parenthood in Pennsylvania offers prenatal care.

You may have seen Live Action's national investigation into 41 Planned Parenthood affiliates, reaching out to 97 facilities and finding that only FIVE offered prenatal services. Pennsylvania was not included in their investigation since undercover videos are illegal under state law. So we took it upon ourselves to find out.

If you plan to parent in Pennsylvania, Planned Parenthood chooses not to help. So when their national president Cecile Richards claims that prenatal care is something "folks depend on Planned Parenthood for," it's simply not the case for women in Pennsylvania.

This, despite receiving millions of taxpayer funding every year. Planned Parenthood PA affiliates have received over $21 million in just the last four years. All the while there are over 300 community health centers throughout the state giving comprehensive health care to women.

The Question the Left Won’t Answer on Abortion

If there weren’t, well, lives at stake, Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell’s dodging of Fox News’ Tucker Carlson’s questions about whether abortion was the taking of a human life would be comical.

Just check out how often Swalwell (who is, of course, from California) dodged it in an appearance Tuesday night (transcript omits some cross chatter):

Carlson: Do you think it is the taking of a human life, abortion? 

Swalwell: I think that, right now … before viability, a woman should be able to make her own decision. After viability, in the case of her own psychological health, in the case of rape or incest, she should also be able to make that decision. 

Carlson: OK, but is it the taking of a human life? 

Swalwell: That is a woman’s personal decision. 

Carlson: OK, but what do you think? I’m not asking about the decision, I mean is it human life or not? 

Swalwell: She’s terminating something that she does not want, and that’s her own choice. 

Carlson: OK, but do you think it’s human life? 

Swalwell: Do I think—I think, at viability, a baby … should be decided by the woman. She’s the one who has to have it. 

Carlson: You brought it up, that’s why I’m pressing you, but do you think, before viability, it’s a human life or something else? 

Swalwell: I think it’s not viable yet, Tucker, and courts have decided this and it’s a woman’s decision. 

Carlson: You’re not going to answer my question, now or ever I suspect, but you should because it’s a basic question I think.

No Such Thing as a Little Euthanasia

A euthanasia expert has a warning for states considering proposals to legalize doctor-assisted suicide.

The warning comes based on news of a case in the Netherlands where a woman suffering dementia was put to death by a physician against her will.

Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition explains the dilemma.

“The crazy situation is she didn't want to die,” he tells OneNewsNow. “She decided she didn't want to die. So what they did is put this sedative in her coffee without telling her, and that wasn't effective enough, so they held her down as they lethally injected her as she was pushing people back. She did not want the lethal injection.” 

The doctor then asked family members to help hold her down while the doctor killed her.

Penna. Legislative Alert: Call Senators Casey and Toomey to Support Supreme Court Nominee!

President Donald Trump has nominated 10th Circuit Appeals Court Judge Neil Gorsuch to fill the Supreme Court seat previously held by the late Justice Antonin Scalia. Judicial analysts agree that Gorsuch is a judge in the mold of Scalia--someone who interprets the U.S. Constitution the way that it was originally written, and will not try to make new radical laws from the bench.

As Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life, stated, "All too often our efforts to protect unborn children and other vulnerable humans have been overridden by judges who believe they have a right to impose their own policy preferences. We are heartened that Judge Gorsuch appears to share Justice Scalia's view that federal judges are constrained to enforce the text and original intent of constitutional provisions, and on all other matters should defer to democratically elected lawmakers."

The minute Judge Gorsuch's nomination was announced, pro-abortion forces began an intense campaign to defeat his appointment. That is why we must work now to show our support for this outstanding nominee.

When Hayley Lampshire, 27, from Kidlington, Oxfordshire, England discovered her twins were suffering from an extremely rare condition, the odds were so daunting that (as she told Richard Hartley-Parkinson) “We were told that a selective termination would be a very last resort but we tried not to think about it.”

The discovery was made at the twelve week scan when Hayley and her husband, Charlie, first learned she was carrying twins. At the same scan, “We were told our pregnancy was going to be high risk and a week later we were sent to a specialist who confirmed I was carrying Monoamniotic-Monochorionic twins.”

Which meant Rowan and Blake were sharing one amniotic sac. The dangers were enormous.

Hartley-Parkinson explained

‘Because the boys were in the same amniotic sac their cords could get tangled if they moved around, which would cut off their oxygen and food supply.

‘If that did happen then it would be likely that we wouldn’t know, we couldn’t do anything to prevent it which was the scariest part.

‘They needed to keep still in order to keep one another alive… ‘

How could that possibly happen, given the cramped living quarters?

But she was amazed when she went for a scan – and saw her two boys cuddling each other – and even appeared to be holding hands.

At every scan, Hayley was amazed to see her twins holding on to each other.

The AMA is Not Studying Their Position on Physician-Assisted Suicide

Recently, numerous accounts in the media and online have indicated that the American Medical Association (AMA) is taking steps toward changing their official policy position on physician-assisted suicide [PAS] from opposed to neutral. Fortunately, this chatter is inaccurate. In fact, although the AMA is currently considering the policy landscape in the U.S. surrounding PAS, they have no plans to make any changes to their policy of opposition.

This confusion was laid bare in a New York Times article from January 16th that originally stated the AMA planned to change their policy position on PAS from opposed to neutral.

However, as you can see below from the January 19th correction to this article, the AMA responded that they have no such plans and are not actively considering any change to its policy on this issue.

“Correction: January 19, 2017

An earlier version of this article misstated the American Medical Association’s stance on physician-aided dying. At its 2016 annual meeting, the association commissioned its Council on Ethical and Judicial Affairs to “outline the current landscape surrounding the issue of physician-assisted suicide.” That report, expected in June, will not recommend any policy. The Association did not agree to study whether to shift from its position opposing physician participation in assisted-dying to a neutral position.”

What’s troubling about this situation is that Compassion & Choices, the primary PAS proponent across the country, started the rumor last June that AMA was reconsidering their position on PAS. The timing of this rumor was problematic though as the AMA released their revised Code of Medical Ethics the same month.

You were a mother who never lived to see her children...a father who never held his son in his arms.
You were the missing sister...the mystery brother.
You were the victim of a legal ruling you never had a chance to read.
You died while trying desperately to live.
You were important, you mattered, even though no one knows your name.
You had incredible gifts that the world never got to see.
Your death severed an entire branch of the family tree.
You were, simply, a treasure, and our nation is much poorer without you.
Today, you number more than 59 million.
You are the children lost to Roe versus Wade.
While your face is unknown, you will never be forgotten.
