from Operation Rescue

Wichita, Kansas - Operation Rescue will host a reception to celebrate the launch of the new book, The Trial of Kermit Gosnell, by Operation Rescue's Senior Vice President Cheryl Sullenger.

Sullenger attended the 2013 abortion/murder trial of infamous late-term Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell and has now written a non-fictionalized account of the shocking details of his crimes, which included allowing late-term babies to be born alive amid squalid conditions only to be murdered in a gruesome manner that shocked the nation.

But Sullenger's account does not stop there. Throughout the narrative, she weaves in startling true-life accounts of similar behavior committed by other abortionists that reveal the frightening truth that Gosnell is not alone.

Group from Louisiana Produce Powerful Pro-Life Videos

Video Project Called “Project Abortion: The Untold Story”

By Sandy Cunningham, LA Right to Life
National Right to Life

A team of Central Louisiana pro-lifers have teamed up to produce a series of pro-life documentary segments called “Project Abortion: The Untold Story,” and their most recent video focuses on actress Jennifer O’Neill.

Peter John Lemoine, Wilbur Gutierrez, and Dr. David Spence, with the help of Fr. Dan Cook and videographer and editor Spencer Lemoine, have produced an introduction and three segments of the documentary so far.

The idea for the documentary came about after a men’s prayer group meeting at Lemoine’s home in Cottonport in January 2016. Cook was speaking to the group, and near the end of the meeting he began to talk about abortion. Lemoine and Gutierrez were so touched by Cook’s passion they decided to take action.
“God calls us to pursue causes far greater than ourselves,” Lemoine said. “Abortion is the greatest humanitarian crisis of our generation, and only through education, advocacy, and compassion can we bring an end to this issue.”
Gutierrez noted that Norma McCorvey, better known as Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade, was born in Simmesport, about 10 miles from Lemoine’s home.
“The roots of the national debate were born right here in Central Louisiana,” he said. “If it began here, it can end here.”
Once they decided what platform they would use to get their message out, they chose to make several short segments instead of one lengthy film. Initially, they released two videos.

Recently a third segment was released featuring internationally acclaimed actress and model Jennifer O’Neill, who has a long list of credits to her name and possibly is best known for her role as Dorothy in the classic film “Summer of ’42” and her three decades as a CoverGirl model. In the “Project Abortion” video O’Neill discusses the abortion she had and her post-abortion healing.

The videos have already been seen by tens of thousands of people and are being disseminated by pro-life organizations across the nation, including Priests for Life. Lemoine said that because O’Neill agreed to work with the group and tell her story, the videos will reach an even larger audience.

Terri Schiavo’s Brother on Charlie Gard: Why Do Judges and Bureaucrats Decide if He Lives or Dies

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

The following is a statement from Terri Schiavo’s brother Bobby Schindler:

“Charlie Gard’s life is more valuable than British and European bureaucrats realize,” explains Bobby Schindler, President of the Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network.

“The central issue of the Charlie Gard struggle,” continues Bobby Schindler, “is not about rationing, limited resources, or even life support. At issue is whether universal healthcare means that bureaucrats and judges will determine appropriate treatment, or whether parents like Charlie’s with the energy, finances, and physicians to care for their child will be allowed to do so.”

The Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network has served more than 2,500 medically vulnerable patients and families. The Network been instrumental in similar parental rights cases, particularly the case of Jahi McMath who is now home with her family, and baby Joseph Maraachli who was ultimately allowed to die peacefully in his sleep from natural causes at home, surrounded by loved ones.
“We don’t need judges posing as anguished moral philosophers, weighing what makes a life worth living. We simply need them to rule on whether mothers and fathers have an inalienable right to care for their own children. Are we better off in a society where government officials are encouraged literally to separate loved ones from each other? Is it better for Charlie Gard to live and die at home with his family, or in a state institution?”
The Terri Schiavo Life & Hope Network upholds human dignity through service to the medically vulnerable. This mission is expressed by affirming essential qualities of human dignity, which include the right to food and water, the presumption of the will to live, due process rights for those facing denial of care, protection from euthanasia as a form of medicine, and access to rehabilitative care. Federal Judge Halts Indiana Abortion Law, Allowing Minors to Kill Preborn Babies Without Parental Consent

By Susan Michelle-Hanson
Live Action News

A minor in Indiana must have parental consent to get a tattoo, but on Wednesday, a federal judge halted SEA 404, a law which would have required the same before a minor can get an abortion. A federal judge issued a temporary injunction on the law, which was to take effect Saturday. The Indy Star reports:
Current Indiana law dictates that girls under the age of 18 must have parental consent to obtain an abortion, or they must petition the court to waive that consent. Senate Enrolled Act 404, signed by Gov. Eric Holcomb in April, would allow the judge in that case to decide whether or not it is in that minor’s best interest to tell her parents before the procedure
While the bill was criticized by some as another hurdle to a woman’s right to choose, Holcomb said at the time that he saw the bill as a “parental rights issue and responsibility and common sense.”
The paper adds:

The American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana filed a lawsuit against the state on behalf of Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky (PPINK) in May, claiming the SEA 404 “imposes new burdens on a young woman’s access to abortion and on her health care providers, in violation of often reaffirmed constitutional rights.”
U.S. District Judge Sarah Evans Barker ruled that the “the pregnant minor’s integrity” weighed “more than her parents’ authority,” saying:
For this reason, the mature minor as the individual who bears the full consequences of the ultimate decision is entitled to an opportunity to proceed without state-mandated interference from her parents. Because SEA 404 offers no such opportunity, it places an unjustifiable burden on mature minors in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment.
ABC News notes:
During 2015, 25 girls between the ages of 10 and 14 received abortions in Indiana, and another 219 girls between 15 and 17 also ended their pregnancies, according to a report from the Indiana State Department of Health.

Ohio Right to Life’s Dismemberment Abortion Ban Clears Ohio Senate

Legislation to Shield Unborn Babies from Dismemberment

By Ohio Right to Life Alert
National Right to Life

On Thursday, Ohio Right to Life’s Dismemberment Abortion Ban (S.B. 145) was overwhelmingly approved by the Ohio Senate, 24-9. The legislation, which is sponsored by Senators Matt Huffman (R-Lima) and Steve Wilson (R-Maineville), is being heralded by Ohio Right to Life as the next step in the national strategy to end abortion.

The passage of the bill coincides with the 50th anniversary of Ohio Right to Life’s founding. In more recent history, Ohio Right to Life has successfully advocated for the enactment of 18 pro-life laws. Since 2010, abortions have dropped 25 percent in Ohio, falling to a 39-year record-low in 2015.
“For the first time since the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, we’re advancing legislation that addresses the brute force of abortion head-on,” said Mike Gonidakis, president of Ohio Right to Life said, “Every year in Ohio, thousands of babies are brutally dismembered by the abortion industry, ripped limb from limb and extracted piece by piece. Ohio Right to Life applauds the Ohio Senate for taking us one giant step closer to adding this game-changing pro-life law to the record.”
Dismemberment abortion is a procedure in which the abortionist first dilates the woman’s cervix and then uses steel instruments to dismember and extract the living baby from the uterus. In 2015, the Ohio Department of Health reported nearly 3,000 D&E abortions in the state of Ohio.

The Dismemberment Abortion Ban is built in part on the precedent set in Gonzales v. Carhart (2007) which upheld the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, scaling back the scope of Roe v. Wade. In the Court’s opinion, Justice Anthony Kennedy, the Court’s swing-vote on abortion, described what occurs in a D&E abortion: “[F]riction causes the fetus to tear apart. For example, a leg might be ripped off the fetus…” He continued, “No one would dispute that for many, D&E is a procedure itself laden with the power to devalue human life.”

The Ohio House is expected to take up the Dismemberment Abortion Ban in the fall when the legislature returns from summer recess.

Ohio Right to Life asks its members to send a letter of support to their state representatives by using its Legislative Action Center at www.ohiolife.org

Seven Planned Parenthood Abortion Facilities Permanently Close Today

By Cheryl Sullenger
Life News

Seven Planned Parenthood facilities, six of which conducted medication abortions, are set to permanently close today in three states.

Planned Parenthood officials noted that the closures were primarily an attempt to remain solvent amid fears that Medicaid reimbursements would be halted by Congress.
“It isn’t very often we see seven Planned Parenthood facilities close in one day. This may have set some kind of record. It is great news for women and their babies who will no longer be preyed upon for profit by Planned Parenthood in these communities,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue.
“Many Planned Parenthood facilities survive only on on government funding. There are so many other reputable providers of legitimate healthcare for women out there. Even if every Planned Parenthood was shut down, no one would have to do without proper medical care. We should not be funding Planned Parenthood with our tax dollars.”
Medication abortion facilities that are closing as of June 30, 2017, include:

• Atlantic City Planned Parenthood, Atlantic City, New Jersey. (Cited “security” reasons for closure.)
• Burlington Health Center, Burlington, Iowa. (Financial reasons.)
• Sioux City Center Planned Parenthood, Sioux City, Iowa. (Financial reasons.)
• Central Richmond Health Center, Richmond, CA. (Financial reasons.)
• Vacaville Health Center Planned Parenthood, Vacaville, CA. (Financial reasons.)
• Pittsburg Health Center, Pittsburg, CA. (Financial reasons.)

Keokuk Health Center Planned Parenthood, in Keokuk, Iowa, a center that referred for abortions, will also permanently close on June 30.

Another Iowa medication abortion facility, Quad Cities Center Planned Parenthood in Bettendorf, is set to close once the building sells.

The closures continue a national trend of abortion facility closures that appears to have intensified since the election of President Donald Trump.

In order to prevent Planned Parenthood from expanding once again, please contact your Senators today and urge them to completely defund Planned Parenthood in the upcoming legislation to repeal and replace of Obamacare, which is expected to come up for a vote after the Independence Day break.

10 Reasons To Keep Abortion Giant Planned Parenthood Out Of Your Local School

By Ryan Bomberger
Town Hall

1. They promote promiscuity. When asked if “promiscuity is a bad thing”, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) responded: “It’s a word that’s used to judge or shame people.” No. It’s a word used to describe sexually risky behavior. Planned Parenthood encourages it, declaring: “There’s nothing bad or unhealthy about having a big number of sexual partners.”

Our nation is facing an STD epidemic. The 18 percent failure rate of condoms is alarming. Birth control pills, shots, implants, rings, and IUDs don’t prevent STDs at all. Abstinence is the only 100 percent effective way to avoid STDs, HIV, HPV and unintended pregnancy. Should a business that profits from selling abortions, birth control and STD treatments to be teaching our teens that there’s nothing wrong with promiscuity?

2. They fail to reduce STDs. When public schools partner with Planned Parenthood, they are being careless…no matter what. Youth are 25 percent of the population yet 50 percent of all new STD infections. You can’t teach sexual responsibility to teens by teaching them to act recklessly.

PPFA’s newest videos encourage casual hookups, downplay the serious consequences of STDs, and promote homosexuality (which is the highest risk factor in the contraction of HIV/AIDS, gonorrhea, and syphilis.) PPFA suggests highly risky “outercourse”, such as STD-prone oral or anal sex, as an abstinence alternative. Promiscuity and anal intercourse increase the risk of anal cancer, according to the American Cancer Society. But abstinence doesn’t generate a profit for Planned Parenthood. Risky behavior does.

3. They promote bondage sex to teens. Because teen sexual behavior isn’t already risky enough, Planned Parenthood encourages BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Sadism, Masochism). Do we really want our youth practicing sexual violence? Oh, and “no” doesn’t really mean “no”. In PPFA’s sex tutorial for teens, it encourages creating a “safeword” other than “no”. Here are some safewords: “Don’t trust your teens with Planned Parenthood.”

4. They don’t trust parents. Planned Parenthood doesn’t even mention ‘parents’ in their latest 2015-2016 Annual Report. They think parents are dangerous. PPFA fights against every parental notification law (here, here, here, here, and here) regarding a minor’s reproductive health, declaring: “…they put teens at risk for abuse at the hands of their parents.” They want full, unrestricted access to our children.

5. They fail to report rape. Planned Parenthood has been found to repeatedly protect sexual abusers instead of victims. Live Action caught them in undercover videos willing to aid and abet sex traffickers. PPFA called the exposé a “hoax,” yet fired one of their medical directors as a result. They don’t take sexual abuse seriously. Planned Parenthood proudly partnered with faux feminist Lena Dunham to promote her Not That Kinda Girl book tour. In the book, Dunham falsely claimed she had been raped and boasted about molesting her younger sister.

6. They don’t “know” when life begins. What real healthcare organization denies basic science? Planned Parenthood President, Cecile Richards, claims we don’t know when a human becomes a human. Embryology, the scientific study of embryonic and fetal development, has been certain of this well-known fact for a long time. Dr. Micheline Matthews-Roth, of Harvard University Medical School, testified to the Senate back in 1981: “It is scientifically correct to say than an individual human life begins at conception.”

Town Hall article '10 Reasons' continues

Blogger's comment:

Given these facts, it's unbelievable how any member of congress would vote to continue to fund Planned Parenthood. Our children and grandchildren are being exposed to this immoral culture in so many ways. But to invite PP into any school is tantamount to child abuse.

Funding PP with our tax dollars is robbing this generation of their peers by abortion and brainwashing them with their ungodly view of sexuality.  Be sure to let your senator or congressman know the whole truth about PP.  To contact your representative click here. Right to Life of Michigan is Disappointed Governor Snyder Vetoed the Choose Life Plate bill

National Right to Life

Right to Life of Michigan is disappointed that Governor Rick Snyder vetoed legislation to create a Choose Life specialty license plate in Michigan.

Right to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing said, “We hoped he would recognize this wonderful opportunity to provide care to pregnant women in need and help suicide prevention efforts.”

Right to Life of Michigan remains committed to creating the license plate.
“The support for the Choose Life plate is still there and it will happen in Michigan, it’s just a matter of time,” Listing said. “We look forward to taking the issue up with our next governor.”
A record number of prolife bills have been introduced in Lansing this term addressing everything from defunding Planned Parenthood to protecting vulnerable patients from medical discrimination. Right to Life of Michigan applauds the commitment of prolife members in the Legislature who are making prolife issues a priority in Lansing.
“We’re working on several important bills that advance protection for human life, including some bills we expect to receive bipartisan support,” Listing concluded. “We’ll continue working with legislators to give Governor Snyder more opportunities to sign good bills.”

‘Miracle’ Baby Austin, Born at 22 Weeks, is One of Britain’s Smallest Surviving Preemies

By Nancy Flanders
Live Action News

Baby boy Austin Douglas weighed just one pound, four ounces when he was born at 22 weeks gestation on March 31, 2017. Doctors had little hope that Austin would survive, but after weeks in the hospital in Britain, he is doing so well that doctors expect him to be able to go home in July with his parents Rhys and Helen.

Austin’s mother Helen Douglas went into premature labor. By the time she arrived at the hospital, she was fully dilated, and there wasn’t anything doctors could do to stop the labor.

“We were asked if we wanted medical assistance for him, given how premature he was,” Douglas told the Daily Mail. “I told doctors that if he came out breathing, I wanted them to do everything they could and they did.”

Austin’s skin was still translucent, and his lungs and ears hadn’t fully developed. The medical team took him straight to an incubator and did everything they could to help him live. He was later transferred to Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, where he developed a lung infection twice.

His prognosis was initially not good, but Austin is now being cared for at Leicester Royal Infirmary and has improved enough that doctors hope he can be discharged by his original due date of July 28th.

According to the Daily Mail, Douglas has polycystic ovary syndrome and therefore calls Austin a “miracle twice over” since she didn’t think she could even have children.

“When I found out I was pregnant, I was ecstatic,” she said. “I love him so much and I’m so grateful for all the care he’s had.”

Austin still has a long way to go, but his life is a testimony to the fact that preborn children are living human beings.
