Please dress warm and invite your family and friends. All are welcome!

The empty manger is a dual symbol. Like the empty manger lovingly placed in every Christmas crèche in anticipation of celebrating the Nativity of Jesus Christ, it represents the joy that ought to accompany the birth of every child.

The “Empty Manger” Christmas Caroling Day has become an important annual event for pro-life groups across the country.

Help a pregnant mom who is expecting a baby girl this month!

From Anna, the president and founder of Lehigh Valley Pro-Life Future:

A Lehigh Valley Sidewalk Counselor has been working with a pregnant mother in serious need and living on a row of abandoned houses in the Lehigh Valley. She has 3 kids and is due with her 4th child in the next week. (For this mother's protection, we are leaving out her name and the location.)

With all of this said, LVPLF is looking to help sponsor this woman this Christmas in her great time of need.

Her children are 13 (girl), 11 (boy), 3 (girl) and one soon to be born! She previously was being forced into an abortion by her boyfriend, and left the abortion clinic (this past spring) and her boyfriend to ensure the life of her child who will be born this coming week!

Every donation to LVPLF between today and December 21st, will be donated to this young woman.

If you are interested in giving clothing or toys, they can be dropped off at Bright Hope Pregnancy Resource Center in Allentown, December 19th between 6:00 and 8:00 PM or given to LVPLF members at our Christmas Party December 16th.

Any messages of support for this mother can be emailed to lehighvalley@prolifefuture.org and we will pass them on to her!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!

Pro-Choice Catholic Politicians Are 'Misleading Our People,' Says Archbishop

Democratic U.S. vice presidential nominee Senator Tim Kaine

By Michael Gryboski
Christian Post

Catholic politicians who talk of their faith influencing them but then advocate pro-choice public policy are "misleading our people," says a prominent Roman Catholic archbishop.

Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas was recently selected to head the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee of Pro-Life Activities.

In an interview with The Catholic World Report that was published Monday, Archbishop Naumann spoke about the problems of when "we have Catholic politicians who flaunt their Catholicity, but take positions that our inconsistent with our Catholic teaching."

Naumann cited as specific examples former Health and Human Services Department head Kathleen Sebelius and former vice presidential hopeful Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia.

"[Sebelius] would talk about how Catholic she was, but act totally contrary to Church teaching. It creates a problem for us as bishops when Catholic politicians do that. They teach our people that it is okay to be Catholic and support legalized abortion," said Naumann.
"Tim Kaine, a US Senator and former vice presidential candidate, is another example of a politician who flaunted his Catholic background but spewed a lot of pro-choice rhetoric. When they do this they're taking on a teaching role and misleading our people."
Naumann also told the CWR that he felt there were many challenges in advancing the pro-life agenda at the federal government level, especially due to the courts.
"But we've seen that in a majority of states legislators have pushed as far as they could to extend protections to unborn life that the federal courts will permit," stated Naumann.
"... It was really the U.S. Supreme Court that created the problem, usurping the role of the states to create public policy in these areas. I think that we have some hope that we can change the composition of the Supreme Court."

The Supreme Court Said They Weren't People - They Were Proven Wrong

Martin Fox, President
National Pro-Life Alliance

Whenever great moral sicknesses infect a society, the road to recovery is usually long and rough.

And as you know, it's been forty-four years since the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision.

That 7-2 decision by unelected judges overturned laws in all 50 states and legalized the killing of more than 60 million unborn babies.

You see, in Roe v. Wade the Supreme Court said that unborn babies weren't "persons."

But Roe v. Wade wasn't the first time the Supreme Court denied legal protection to certain people.

In 1857, the Supreme Court decided Dred Scott v. Sandford.

This case, another 7-2 decision, declared that African Americans were not persons, and therefore had no legal protection or rights.

But just declaring it so didn't change the facts.

You and I know that the abolitionists continued to fight, and ultimately the rights of all born people were secured regardless of race.

And you and I must show the same resolve in ensuring that the right to life is protected for all unborn persons as well.

That's why your National Pro-Life Alliance is fighting to pass the Life at Conception Act to legislatively bypass Roe v. Wade.

Thanks to you and other National Pro-Life Alliance members, we have a record level of pledged supporters for the Life at Conception Act in Congress.

And as support for the Life at Conception Act continues to grow, I have no doubt that you and I will ultimately overturn Roe v. Wade and end abortion-on-demand.

The National Pro-Life Alliance occupies a unique and important role in the pro-life movement. The focus of many other pro-life organizations is research, publications or counseling. These are all important and worthy activities, but the National Pro-Life Alliance is singular in its focus on passing pro-life legislation that will protect the unborn from the moment of conception onward. For more information on the National Pro-Life Alliance or to make a donation, please use this link.

Newman Applauds Planned Parenthood Criminal Investigation Confirmed by DOJ

from Operation Rescue

Washington, DC - A letter sent Thursday from the Department of Justice to Sen. Chuck Grassley, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, confirms that Planned Parenthood is indeed under investigation of criminal acts committed in the sale of aborted baby body parts, according to Fox News.

News broke in November that the Department of Justice had requested unredacted documents from the Senate Judiciary Committee, obtained during its investigation into allegations that Planned Parenthood trafficked in aborted baby remains for profit. Sen. Grassley asked for confirmation that those unredacted documents would be used for investigative purposes.

Thursday's letter from Justice Department Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Stephen Boyd, verified their investigation in what Fox News describes as a "rare confirmation" that a criminal investigation was ongoing.

The investigations were prompted by the 2015 release of a series of undercover recordings by the Center for Medical Progress, which clearly showed Planned Parenthood executives and others discussing potential deals for money - and in some cases, haggling to get the best prices - in exchange for organs and tissue procured from aborted babies.

"As a co-founder of the Center for Medical Progress, I am very proud our work in exposing Planned Parenthood's criminal conduct. It is gratifying to learn that a criminal investigation of the nation's largest abortion merchant is underway," said Troy Newman, who serves as President of Operation Rescue.

"The videos show the true face of Planned Parenthood; one that is obsessed with exploiting every possible profit stream from their abortion business at the expense of the women they purport to serve," Newman continued. "Greed, deception, and exploitation of the vulnerable are all hallmarks of Planned Parenthood's nefarious activities."

Newman and other CMP members continue to fight Federal lawsuits filed by Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation, which won an injunction to halt the release of further videos and barred the sharing videos with law enforcement officials even if they contained evidence of crimes.

Newman, who is represented by Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice, filed an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this year claiming the gag order is rife with constitutional violations. Earlier this month the Supreme Court ordered the abortion businesses to submit briefs in response. A decision from the Court on whether it will hear the case is expected next month.

"News of this investigation gives new urgency to our Supreme Court appeal. The DOJ needs access to all the evidence so justice can be properly done. Planned Parenthood must not be held above the law," said Newman.

Operation Rescue is one of the leading pro-life Christian activist organizations in the nation and has become a strong voice for the pro-life movement in America. Operation Rescue is now headquartered in a former abortion clinic that it bought and closed in 2006. From there, Operation Rescue launches its innovative new strategies across the nation, exposing and closing abortion clinics through peaceful, legal means. Its activities are on the cutting edge of the abortion issue, taking direct action to stop abortion and ultimately restore legal personhood to the pre-born in obedience to biblical mandates. For more information or to make a donation to help them with their work, please use this link.

The Threat Pregnancy Help Centers Pose to the Abortion Industry Explains Their Hysterical Response

To come full circle, a primary mission of the abortion industry and its legion of media apologists is to drive its “competition” out of business.

Linda Greenhouse,
former NY Times Supreme Court Reporter

By Dave Andrusko
National Right to Life

I think it would be fair to say that the savvier pro-abortionists understand there is case pending before the Supreme Court that has the potential to seriously upset a major objective of the Abortion Industry: compelling pro-lifers to compromise their principles, lessen their impact, and to force them to do the bidding of the likes of Planned Parenthood.

We’ve written or reposted a dozen stories or more about California’s so-called Reproductive FACT Act [“FACT” stands for Freedom, Accountability, Comprehensive Care, and Transparency]. In a word, the legislature is threatening to cripple pregnancy help centers if they do not comply.

Today we revisit the topic in light of former New York Times Supreme Court reporter Linda Greenhouse’s latest diatribe which appeared today in the Times’ opinion section.

Understand, these are alternative to abortion organizations, which rely heavily on volunteers (like my middle daughter), and receive no government funding. As Jay Hobbs has explained

California’s law orders the pro-life organizations to prominently post and distribute the following notice. “California has public programs that provide immediate free or low-cost access to comprehensive family planning services (including all FDA-approved methods of contraception), prenatal care, and abortion for eligible women. To determine whether you qualify, contact the county social services office at [insert the telephone number].”

What about pregnancy centers that do not offer free medical services such as ultrasounds?

They must post the following disclaimer “conspicuously at the entrance to the facility” “in no less than 48-point type”: “This facility is not licensed as a medical facility by the State of California and has no licensed medical provider who provides or directly supervises the provision of services.”

Greenhouse can’t be bothered with the Big Brother aspect of this case: the entire force of the California governmental apparatus coming down on organizations who are hopelessly outgunned.

What about other courts which, unlike the oft-overturned U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, struck down very similar laws? That doesn’t delay Greenhouse either.

She takes up the distinction without a difference argument the 9th Circuit used to uphold the Reproductive FACT Act versus a New York Appeals court that struck down a similar law. And, of course, she bludgeons the Supreme Court for opening the floodgates by recognizing and protecting free speech rights.

Greenhouse’s overarching argument is all that California is requiring is the truth. Which(a) misses the whole point of compelling a pro-life organization to advertise to its clients that they can get free or reduced abortions elsewhere, and (b)is grounded in the pro-abortion meme that women-helping centers are by nature liars and ought to be put out of business.

FBI Investigates Planned Parenthood Over Aborted Baby Body Parts Scandal

By Brandon Showalter
Christian Post

The FBI is opening an investigation into the nation's largest abortion provider and its harvesting and selling of aborted baby body parts to companies and universities interested in purchasing the organs for research.

Fox News reported Thursday that they had obtained a letter that the Justice Department sent to Congress requesting documents from a 2016 congressional investigation into Planned Parenthood and other biotechnology firms procuring fetal tissue for research purposes.
"The Department of Justice appreciates the offer of assistance in obtaining these materials, and would like to request the committee provide unredacted copies of records contained in the report, in order to further the department's ability to conduct a thorough and comprehensive assessment of that report based on the full range of information available," wrote Assistant Attorney General for Legislative Affairs Stephen Boyd in the letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley, a Republican from Iowa, had recommended the DOJ investigate Planned Parenthood and others when his committee published its final report "Human Fetal Tissue Research: Context and Controversy."

The FBI first asked Congress for the documents in November, the report noted.

The dealings between Planned Parenthood and biotech companies in the harvesting and selling of aborted babies' tissue, organs and limbs was exposed in the summer of 2015 by The Center for Medical Progress, a pro-life investigative group.

CMP's David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt posed as biomedical researchers and released undercover video footage of themselves speaking extensively with top Planned Parenthood executives, inside and outside of abortion clinics, about acquiring fetal tissues and organs from them. Planned Parenthood employees are seen on tape speaking cavalierly about how they harvest the body parts during abortion procedures and negotiating the cost of specific tissue and organs.
"Over two years ago, citizen journalists at The Center for Medical Progress first caught Planned Parenthood's top abortion doctors in a series of undercover videos callously and flippantly negotiating the sale of tiny baby hearts, lungs, livers, and brains," Daleiden said Thursday.
"It is time for public officials to finally hold Planned Parenthood and their criminal abortion enterprise accountable under the law."
Pro-life politicians and advocates are praising the government's move.
"We applaud any action by the DOJ to follow the evidence where it leads — and the Senate Judiciary report reveals substantial evidence suggesting Planned Parenthood profits from the sale of baby body parts," said Lila Rose, president of Live Action, also a pro-life investigative group that has gone undercover to expose the abortion business' practices.
Conressman Lou Barletta, a Republican from Pennsylvania, likewise, tweeted the Fox News report on Thursday, noting: #DOJ waiting several years before addressing the #PlannedParenthood scandal is unsettling.
"Every child has a #RightToLife. We should cherish every child as a blessing. After the #PlannedParenthood videos surfaced, it was clear their practices warranted an investigation," Barletta added.

Chinese Girl Adopted by American Family to Escape Abortion Reunites With Her Birthparents 20 Years Later

By Micaiah Bilger
Life News

Xu Lida and his wife, Fenxiang, went to great lengths to save their unborn daughter’s life under China’s oppressive one-child policy.

They spent just three days with Kati after she was born, and then gave her up with the hope that she would find a better life with an adoptive family.

The BBC recently reported the amazing story of how Kati, who was adopted by a Michigan couple, and her birth family reunited after being separated for 20 years.

Her story is a reminder of the oppression families suffer under China’s harsh population control measures, the almost unbelievable lengths some parents will go through to protect their child and the amazing love of family, whether biological or adoptive.

Here’s more from the report:

Lida and his wife Fenxiang told the BBC that after marrying in 1992 and welcoming their first daughter, they decided to have another child so that their eldest child wouldn’t be lonely without a sibling.

But giving their eldest a sibling would violate the one-child policy, a measure introduced by the Chinese government in 1979 to control its soaring population growth. Disobeying this rule resulted in harsh punishments, including steep fines, loss of property, forced abortion and sterilization.

When Fenxiang’s pregnancy was discovered in her fifth month, family planning officials demanded an abortion and threatened to tear down their home. But according to Fenxiang, “The baby’s life was already formed. I couldn’t abort it.”

The couple went to great lengths to keep their unborn daughter safe. According to the report, they ran away from home, moving from community to community to escape family planning officials who might force them to abort their baby girl. Eventually, they said they hid on a river boat where Fenxiang gave birth to Kati.

Lida said they left Kati in a vegetable market several days later with the hope that someone would find her and care for her. Lida remembered leaving his daughter with a kiss and a note to reassure her of their love.

The Suzhou Social Welfare Institute cared for Kati for about a year before a Michigan couple, Ruth and Ken Pohler, adopted her, according to the report. They also received the note that Lida wrote to his daughter.

“If God has sympathy for us and you care about us, let’s meet on the Broken Bridge on the West Lake in Hangzhou on the morning of Chinese lunar date July 7th in 10 or 20 years,” he concluded.

Former California Politician Charged With Assisting the Suicide of His Wife

By Alex Schadenberg, Euthanasia Prevention Coalition
National Right to Life

Steven Clute, a former member of the California Assembly, was charged with assisting the suicide of his wife, Pamela Clute. Pamela Clute died from a gunshot wound on August 21, 2016, at their home.

Her husband stated that the suicide was related to her severe pain.

According to the Associated Press article:

Steve Clute, 69, a former Navy pilot who served as a Democrat in the state Assembly from 1982 to 1992, allegedly gave her the handgun she used to take her life, John Hall, spokesman for the Riverside district attorney, said Monday.

The Clute assisted suicide trial may test the limits of the California assisted suicide law.

According to the AP story

While California’s assisted suicide law went into effect a couple months before Clute’s death, the law only applies to terminally ill patients who are prescribed life-ending drugs by a physician. Clute wasn’t terminally ill.

The AP article stated that Steve Clute was not present at the time of his wife’s death. Even if this is true, according to the law, it doesn’t matter.

The California Penal Code 401 – Aiding, Advising or Encouraging a Suicide states that it is a crime to: advise or encourage someone to commit suicide.
There were no independent witnesses at the time of the death.

Editor’s note. This appeared on Mr. Schadenberg’s blog and is reposted with permission.

Millions Miss Out on Joys of Grandparenting by Following Liberal Lies on Abortion

"I must confess to being an overly satisfied grandparent. It is an unbelievable blessing and joy."

By Jerry Newcombe
Christian Post

An acquaintance once asked Winston Churchill if he had shown the statesman a picture of his grandchild. Churchill replied, saying something like: "No. And I have forgotten to thank you for that."

I must confess to being an overly satisfied grandparent. It is an unbelievable blessing and joy. But tragically, tens of millions of fellow Americans will never experience this joy. Many of them will miss out because they have followed the siren song of the liberals and have chosen abortion over birth. It's too late to reach them, but it's not too late to reach the next generation.

Of course, this doesn't mean that there are not many grandparents in America who favor abortion rights. But the joy they know as grandparents came because they and their children chose birth over abortion.

Note the anti-child bias that can be seen from the woman who gave birth to Planned Parenthood.  Lifenews.com (11/17/17) has some shocking quotes from Margaret Sanger: "But for my view, I believe that there should be no more babies" (1947).
Nor did Margaret Sanger think highly of large families: "The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it" (1920). Nor black babies: "We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population..." (1939).

Sadly millions have listened to her advice. The Guttmacher Institute says that thirty percent of American women will have an abortion by age 45.

On top of the deaths of the aborted children, this comes with medical consequences. Research in the UK documents that having at least one abortion may increase the likelihood of giving birth to a premature baby later.

This was based on a University of Aberdeen study involving 620,000 women between 1981 and 2007. The U.K. Daily Mail (9/4/12) says: "Having just one abortion could raise the risk of potentially life-threatening problems in future pregnancies."

The article notes: "surgical abortions may be more likely to damage the womb, leading to later problems."

The late John Wilkie, M.D., was for years the president of the National Right-to-Life in Washington, D.C. He and his wife compiled the book, Abortion: Questions and Answers (2003). They noted: "Women who had one induced abortion had a 17.5% miscarriage rate in subsequent pregnancies as compared to a 7.5% rate in a non-aborted group." (p. 163).

At the birth of my first grandchild, I was so excited. I knew it was going to be great to be a grandfather. But I didn't know it would be as great as it really is---like the phone call the other night asking, "Papa, will you take me to Chuck E. Cheeses'?" Of course, I replied with delight, "Elizabeth, I'd be happy to take you and Isaac there."

Tewannah Aman knows firsthand the pain of missing out of parenthood by following the abortion lies. Today, she and her husband, John, serve as directors of the Broward County Right to Life.
