The "A" Word

by Rodney Pelletier
ChurchMilitant.com

A Canadian pro-life organization is releasing its latest video challenging the sanitization of the term "abortion."

The newest video in the organization's #justsaying series satirizes the way abortion activists use the terms "healthcare," "choice" and "women's rights" to promote the slaughter of children in the womb.

Laura Klassen, head of Choice42.com, tells Church Militant, "Like with our other videos, the purpose of 'A-Word' is to challenge the abortion status quo and hopefully get people thinking about this human genocide that is going on right here and now behind closed doors."

The Church Militant (Ecclesia Militans) is the Christian militia. The Church Militant does battle against sin, the devil and the demonic "rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (Ephesians 6:12).  For more information or to sign up to join Church Militant, please use this link.

Michigan’s Republican Governor Vetoes State’s ‘Baby Box’ Bill

By Tre Goins-Phillips
Faithwire

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, a Republican, vetoed legislation late last week that would have allowed parents to surrender unwanted infants by leaving them in a secured device — a “baby box” — located at hospitals, fire stations and police departments.

The GOP proposal expanded the state’s safe haven law, which was passed in 2000 and allows parents to give unwanted babies to an employee at any of those three facilities if the infants are under 72 hours old, according to The Detroit News.

Snyder described the current law as “an important and valuable policy to ensure unwanted newborn babies are not abandoned or harmed.”

“However,” he said, “I do not believe it is appropriate to allow for parents to surrender a baby by simply depositing the baby into a device, rather than physically handing the baby to a uniformed police, fire or hospital employee.”
More than 200 newborn babies have been surrendered in Michigan since 2001, most of which were given up at the hospital at the time of birth.
What is a “baby box?”

Under the vetoed legislation, the “newborn safety device,” also known as a “baby box,” would lock from the outside after a baby was placed inside, triggering a call to 911 within 30 seconds. The secured device would also include a panel of instructions.

Michigan state Rep. Bronna Kahle (R) said last year that the legislation “takes the necessary steps to ensure that no mother feels that she has to abandon her child illegally.”

And Monica Kelsey, founder of Safe Haven Baby Boxes, told politicians the boxes her organization installed in Indiana come with a bassinet inside and have heating and cooling features to keep the infant comfortable. Kelsey, who was abandoned as an infant, said a 911 call is triggered whenever the device is closed or opened.

The Republican-led state Senate passed the “baby box” legislation by a vote of 30-8, The Detroit News reported.

Pro-Choice Activist Tells Kids: Abortion is 'Part of God’s plan,' ‘Like Dentist Appointment’

By Samuel Smith
Christian Post

The co-founder of the “#ShoutYourAbortion” movement was featured on a popular YouTube channel for children telling kids that abortions are “part of God’s plan” and that they are much like going to the dentist.

Abortion activist Amelia Bonow fielded questions from children of various ages when she participated in an episode of “Kids Meet,” a program run by the Seattle-based HiHo Kids. Bonow was the star of an episode called “Kids Meet Someone Who Has Had an Abortion.”

In the episode, a child talking with Bonow in a one-on-one setting tells her that he wrote a paper on abortion in the fifth grade in which he surmised that abortion was acceptable as long as the person getting the abortion was not being “reckless.”

Bonow smirked at the thought of a potential restriction to abortion and questioned the kid’s belief.

“I don’t know. I just don’t agree,” she said. “Do we want people to just have all those babies?”
As the kid shakes his head to indicate “no,” Bonow asks the child what should be done with all the babies that are being born instead of aborted. He answered with “adoption.”

But that response was not to the liking of Bonow.

“I feel like if I am forced to create life, I have lost the right to my own life,” responded Bonow. “I should be the one to decide if my body creates a life. Even if you are giving a kid up for adoption, you still like have a kid out there somewhere.”

Bonow questioned if the child was religious. When he said that he believed in God, she asked what he thinks is God’s view on abortion. The child reasoned that God supports abortion because there are plenty of other babies being born into the world.

The boy then asked Bonow what she believes God thinks about abortion.

“I think it is all part of God’s plan,” she stated.
In another scene, Bonow is shown talking with two girls. One of them asks her: “what exactly do you do to have an abortion?”

Bonow explained:

“You go to the doctor and they put this little straw inside of your cervix, and then inside of your uterus and they just suck the pregnancy out. It was like a crappy dentist appointment or something. It was just like, blah — a body thing that was kind of uncomfortable but then it was over and I felt really just grateful that I wasn’t pregnant anymore.”
In another scene, Bonow is shown talking with a boy and a girl on when life
begins.

Bonow explained that she believes that life begins at birth, while the teen boy goes on to compare a human fetus to a “sea cucumber.”

“It is not thinking, it is just living. It is like your arm is not capable of complex thought. Neither is a baby inside your womb,” the boy says.
Bonow followed up by stating, “I like your take.”

In the video, Bonow admits that she had unprotected sex and aborted her child because she did not want to have a baby. She was asked if there ever was a point she was considering not getting an abortion.

“No. For me it was like an instant feeling. I was like, I am pregnant and I am having an abortion,” she said.

‘This is Happening on Your Watch’: Arizona Pastor Confronts City Council for Not Upholding State’s Laws Banning Abortion

By Tre Goins-Philips
Faith Wire

One Arizona pastor is calling on local lawmakers to uphold the state’s statutes banning abortion, which were passed prior to the Supreme Court’s 1973 ruling on Roe v. Wade and remain on the books today.
Jeff Durbin, pastor of Apologia Church in Tempe and founder of the pro-life movement End Abortion Now, spoke last week before the Phoenix City Council, confronting its members for failing to uphold Arizona law.
In an interview with Faithwire, Durbin said his speech before the city council and his activism overall is inspired by a “heart and desire to speak the truth about abortion” from a Christian perspective. He takes issue with the current strategies of the pro-life movement, which he sees as sidestepping evangelical values.
“We have felt that the pro-life movement demonstrably engages in neutrality as they fight this issue,” the minister claimed. “They don’t fight against it from an explicitly Christian perspective or Gospel-centered perspective.”
Durbin went on to bemoan the overarching pro-life movement for seeking to find common ground rather than using only “Christian language.” He also condemned the suggestion that women who obtain abortions are in any way victims.

He criticized Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life, for saying during a 2017 interview with Apologia Radio that the “mother who got the abortion is also a victim.”
“We want to work toward a legislation that’s meaningful and consistent, that calls abortion murder and punishes it as murder,” Durbin explained.
What are Arizona’s laws against abortion?

Despite the high court ruling on Roe v. Wade in 1973, which effectively legalized abortion nationwide, the practice is still technically illegal in the southwestern state.

In fact, if the court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade was overturned — a scenario some thought possible following Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation in October — Arizona lawmakers could easily and quickly reimplement the state’s inactive laws against abortion.

Eight other states, according to the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute, have pre-Roe v. Wade laws barring abortion on the books: Alabama, Alaska, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

It should be noted Arizona’s law banning abortion calls not for the criminalization of the women who obtained abortions, but for those who actually terminate the pregnancies.

Pro-Lifers Save Two Babies by Singing Christmas Carols Outside Abortion Centers

By Lisa Bourne
Life Site News

Pro-life advocates singing Christmas carols outside abortion facilities saved at least two lives from abortion this past weekend.

In Wood Dale, Illinois, a woman left the abortion facility where pro-life carolers were signing and came to tell them she and her boyfriend decided to keep their baby.

Similarly in Orange, California, a woman who had been moved by the caroling came out of the Planned Parenthood there, telling pro-lifers she had decided to keep her child.

Pro-lifers were able to get the Illinois couple to a local pregnancy center and give them a gift of baby booties for their child, according the Pro-Life Action League, and the California woman was also directed to a local pregnancy center and given a baby sweater for her child on the way.

The group has organized pro-life caroling in some form for 16 years, most recently with the Peace in the Womb theme.

“The fifth annual Peace in the Womb caroling day was a great success,” Pro-Life Action League Assistant Communications Director Matthew Yonke told LifeSiteNews. “With 96 locations nationwide, we brought the message of Christmas hope to abortion facilities from New York to California and all points between.”
With Christmas approaching, the Pro-Life Action League organizes the event as a reminder that while many are making joyful holiday plans, some mothers facing untimely pregnancies are making “much more sorrowful plans” in planning an abortion.

So to bring the light of Christmas to one of the darkest places there is – where babies are aborted – pro-life Christmas carolers met outside the Chicago-area abortion facilities and others this past Saturday, with the message of Christmas hope.

The Pro-Life Action League registered Peace in the Womb caroling events in some 30-plus states between Saturday and other December dates, with some still to come.

The Peace in the Womb caroling day allows pro-lifers to let women seeking abortions know through the Christmas hymns and their presence that there are other hopeful options, and to make help available to the women if they choose life for their child.

More than 90 people turned out Saturday to sing carols for the seven different abortion facilities in the two Illinois caroling tours – four on the Chicago tour, and three in DuPage County.

“We were thrilled to hear about two babies saved from abortion this year – that we know of,” Yonke said, “and there were very few negative interactions with police or passersby.”

#ProjectWeakLink Squeezes the Abortion Cartel

from Mark Harrington, President
Created Equal

Columbus, OH – Dec 31, 2019 – Following the successful campaign focused on Stericycle, Created Equal launched phase two of #ProjectWeakLink this past fall aimed at persuading smaller bio-waste companies to stop enabling the abortion cartel by disposing of aborted babies.

As a result, several companies cancelled contracts to pick up aborted baby remains from third-trimester abortionist Leroy Carhart. Additionally, after getting fined for breaking the law in South Carolina, several former waste drivers blew the whistle on this grisly trade.

View the Created Equal video,Former Waste Driver Uncovers Abortion Industry’s Grisly Tradebelow or on YouTube using this link.

Abortion centers depend upon the services of medical waste companies to dispose of dead babies. Providing this "service" to abortion facilities enables the killing of preborn children. Without those services, these killing centers would be unable to dispose of the babies they kill, and the murder of millions of innocent children would likely halt.

#ProjectWeakLink is going national in 2019!

Our Jumbotron, Truth Truck, and Airplane Tow Banners combined with boots on the ground activism helped to convince Americans to stand against the horrors of preborn child-killing. People needed to see with their own eyes what happens when tiny little BABIES are ripped from their mothers’ womb!

Created Equal is a social action movement consisting of young activists seeking to end the greatest human rights injustice of our time. Killing preborn babies is nothing less than age-based discrimination of the worst kind. Our goal is to restore the true meaning of equality to include equal protection between the born and the preborn.

We will continue this work until the day abortion is abolished, but we need your help. Please consider donating to this mission.  Use this link to help Created Equal with their work.
