5 Abortion Facilities Stay Closed After SCOTUS Blocks Enforcement of TX Safety Standards

Austin, TX - While the status of abortion facilities in Texas remains in flux, a new survey of Texas abortion businesses conducted by Operation Rescue on Monday, October 20, 2014, shows five abortion facilities still remain closed even though they were temporarily allowed to reopen under last week's Supreme Court ruling.

Earlier this month, 14 abortion facilities that failed to comply with HB2's requirement that abortion clinics meet Ambulatory Surgical Center standards shut down after the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals allowed Texas to enforce abortion clinic safety standards pending the State's appeal of a lower court ruling that decided the safety law was unconstitutional.

I don’t know about you, but no one asked me about my post-abortive story or experience. To that I say “GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU MAKE A MOVEMENT”.

The Guttmacher Institute [a close pal to Planned Parenthood] counts the number of abortions rather than the women. If they looked at the stats, it would have noted that about half of post-abortive women had MORE than one abortion; in fact, many are multiple post-abortive women:

Legislation to Protect Unborn Babies Who Feel Pain?

Wisconsin has made huge strides in the protection of unborn babies and mothers in our state. In just 2013 alone, our new lifesaving laws gave mothers more information about their unborn children and helped save 465 babies, who now sleep peacefully in their beds. But we still have far more work to do.

That’s why so many Wisconsinites are concerned by Mary Burke’s recent statement in a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel interview about her position on legislation that would protect unborn babies who are capable of feeling pain.

When asked what she would do with legislation that would “ban abortions after 20 weeks” (when unborn babies can feel pain), Burke responded, without a moment of hesitation,

“Yeah, I would veto it.”

The Great Sadness of the Brittany Maynard Story

Oregon’s Brittany Maynard has a very touching, yet tragic, tale to tell about her terminal brain cancer and herplans to take her own life—something she will do next month in her own bed as she is surrounded by her immediate family. 

She wants to “pass in peace,” as she says in a video in which she discusses her cancer. She will do this on November 1 with her husband, mother, and stepfather by her side.

Yet there is something heartbreakingly askew in this story. Quite possibly it is the audacious manner in which her story came to prominence. The confluence of media efforts with the work of the nation’s number one advocacy group for “death with dignity” and assisted suicide, Compassion & Choices, truly smacks of something wicked. 

Those groups and media that have chosen to use Brittany’s story to promote the agenda of euthanasia advocates are creating a flawed façade as they set about deceiving the public regarding the ethics—or lack thereof—inherent in exploiting the story of anyone who has decided to commit suicide, no matter what the reason. As we know, the act of suicide is a grievous offense against God. In addition, according to Church doctrine, “If suicide is committed with the intention of setting an example, especially to the young, it also takes on the gravity of scandal. Voluntary co-operation in suicide is contrary to the moral law.” This is exactly what these groups do.

Wesley Smith addresses the media frenzy, telling us powerfully, “Media know they are being played. But, if it bleeds, it leads! By breathlessly pushing the Maynard story, the media are pushing suicide.”

Assisted Suicide Bill Riddled with Flaws

The Sept. 28 Asbury Park Press editorial, “Offer choice, mercy to terminally ill,” attempts to make the case for the Legislature to legalize physician-assisted suicide. Its position originates from the mistaken notion that the legislation contains adequate “safeguards and precautions.” Sponsors’ numerous attempts to amend the bill and change its title to try to make it sound more appealing have done nothing to mitigate the actual dangers present in the bill.

In reality, the “Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill Act” is riddled with loopholes and contradictions that place the lives of the very people it purports to empower at grave risk of abuse and coercion. More

You and I need to wake up.

We have watched the creation and rise of an Islamic State bent on our death and destruction and understand that this horror is happening because of our president's weakness and failure to act.

We have watched the horrific spread of Ebola throughout parts of Africa and now beginning in our own nation and realize that this is due to our president's failure to act with our best interests at heart. And we watch our national debt spiral out of control and threaten the future of our children and grandchildren due to our president's gross incompetence. We must now ask ourselves, "Why are we allowing this?"

America is sick. America is losing its soul. As a nation we surgically murder 3,000 nameless children every day. We discard them like garbage. And since 1973 we have surgically killed over 60,000,000 baby boys and girls due to our selfishness and utter lack of respect for human life and dignity.

 Our God is a merciful, loving, and forgiving God, but He is also a just God. I believe Barack Obama is a chastisement on the Lord's people for our failure to stand for the truth with courage and conviction regardless of the costs. We need to wake up.

At the end of a recent address to members of the most vile organization ever created, our president said, "Planned Parenthood, God bless you." Wow, what distorted thinking! God does not bless those who perpetrate and commit mass murder! I cannot think of a more egregious example of taking our Lord's name in vain!

I am often asked, "What can we do?" The very first thing we have done at American Life League is pray. We pray for our president every day. The hardest of hearts can be converted, and if we have the faith to pray -- and in the case of our president, also fast --conversion is possible. Pray for our president; pray and fast for his conversion.

 But we must also shine our light in the darkness. Every day at ALL we help save moms and babies from the lies and deception of those who kill and maim for profit. Children are not a disease; they are not a commodity to be discarded out of fear or convenience. Through God's grace we help convince pregnant women that they are already mothers, and that they have a beautiful gift living inside of them. Love changes hearts, but courage and fearlessness in Christ combats and defeats evil!
