University of New Mexico Dept. Head Confirms High School Students Dissected Aborted Baby Brains

By Susan Michelle
Live Action News

A recent video shows the chancellor of the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, Paul Roth, admitting that one of the university’s summer science programs for high school students dissected baby brains for research.

This confirms what the House Select Panel on Infant Lives exposed in its report when it referred the university to the New Mexico attorney general for criminal charges for possibly violating New Mexico’s Jonathan Spradling Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act.

Roth, who is also the dean of the medical school, is shown in a video released by the New Mexico Alliance for Life (NMAFL), admitting that some baby brains were used in research.
 View video on website: http://liveactionnews.org
The person questioning repeatedly tells him she is videotaping the conversation and asks Roth to repeat what he said earlier about using human remains with high school students. Roth replies on camera:
"Yes, we had a faculty member who obtained some tissue, and during one of these summer workshops, uh, dissected I think one or two fetal brains."
Roth declined to confirm the source of the fetal brains when the questioner asked him “were those from Dr. Boyd’s?” The questioner is referring to the abortion facility operated by late-term abortionist, Curtis Boyd, who also teaches at the university’s medical school. Boyd’s facility provides fetal tissue for UNMHSC, and in February, the university’s response to the Select Panel included this comment:
The only entity from which UNMHSC receives fetal tissue is Southwestern Women’s Options in Albuquerque, NM. The tissue is donated at no cost to UNMHSC and it is picked up by the clinic by UNMHSC staff. UNMHSC does not purchase or sell fetal tissue, nor does it transfer fetal tissue in exchange for any other valuable consideration. (Attachment 22, page 114)

Since the brain acquisition occurred prior to this comment, and the comment mentions SWWO as an exclusive source, it would seem that the university claims no other source, despite Roth saying he doesn’t know for sure where the human fetal brains came from. Previously, Roth also indicated in a letter (acquired by NMAFL) to New Mexico legislators that UNMHSC contracts with SWWO.

In a letter to its mailing list on August 18, NMAFL commented on the video exchange, saying:

One witness described UNM HSC’s chief, Paul Roth’s demeanor as “cold, clinical and dismissive-it was very apparent he didn’t want to be bothered with questions about UNM’s use of human fetal remains, even though his salary is paid by the taxpayers of this state.

Pro-Life Teens Make a Difference!

By Marcy Thompson
Wisconsin Right to Life

Young people are the future of any movement, and pro-life teens are definitely making a difference all over our state! If you’re a pro-life teen passionate about the right to life, get ready to be inspired by these two amazing pro-life teens in Wisconsin:

Dale, 18, helped found her Dodge County’s Teens 4 Life group. She got involved 5 years ago because of L!fe Camp, Wisconsin Right to Life’s teen camp. Her group has been involved in parades, Dollars for Life, and a Mother’s Day rose sale.

In addition, Dale has had opportunity to talk to people about life who ask about her group’s bright red “We Stand 4 Life” t-shirts. Dale’s advice to teens looking to make a difference is, “Start small, don’t try to do big things until you know you are ready” and to “work hard, but have fun mixed in with the work!”

Maria, 19, from La Crosse County, grew up in a pro-life family and knew from a young age that babies deserved to live. During her freshman year of high school, she and her best friend started a local pro-life teens group. In the last year, her group conducted a diaper drive, had educational meetings on debating various pro-life topics, held vigils regularly at a Catholic hospital that has an abortionist, and attended the March for Life in Chicago.

The March for Life was very powerful, and Maria said, “It was truly amazing to see the hope for the future in thousands of other youth who are passionate about saving lives!”

Maria says that the best part of being in a pro-life teens group is the support from peers who share the same views regarding protecting the innocent. To other teens, Maria’s advice is, “Your first task is to take action! Learn as much as you can! The more you know, the more information you have to back your position. Lastly, don’t get discouraged…you can do anything!”

Abortionist Who Failed to Report Rape of Two 13-Year-Old Girls Loses His Medical License

Abortionist Urlich Klopfer

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

Indiana based abortion practitioner has lost his medical license for at least six months after being found guilty on multiple counts of breaking state abortion reporting and health and safety requirements. Ulrich Klopfer is also the abortion practitioner who failed to report the rape of two teenage girls to state officials.

Early this morning the Indiana Medical Licensing Board found longtime abortion doctor Ulrich Klopfer guilty of five of nine charges brought against him. The Board took disciplinary action against Klopfer by suspending his medical license for a minimum of six months, issuing a fine and requiring certain training if he should ever petition to reinstate his medical license.

Klopfer was before the Board because of 1,833 abortion violations listed in an administrative licensing complaint filed in Sept. 2014 by Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller and additional charges filed in an amended complaint in Jan. 2016. Testimony before the Board took more than 12 hours.

According to Indiana Right to Life, which has been following the case closely, Klopfer’s alleged violations stem from record keeping and informed consent law errors he made while doing abortions in Gary, South Bend and Fort Wayne. According to the alleged violations in the Attorney General’s 2014 complaint, Klopfer submitted 1,818 termination of pregnancy reports with missing or incorrect information.

He failed to submit two termination of pregnancy reports within three days as required by law for abortions performed on 13-year-old girls who were obvious victims of statutory rape.

Six times, he failed to ensure informed and voluntary consent was provided by properly credentialed staff. Qualified staff was not available to monitor patients who had received sedation. Finally, he failed to obtain informed and voluntary consent for seven patients at least 18-hours prior to the abortion procedure.
“The Indiana Medical Licensing Board’s decision to suspend Klopfer’s medical license effectively puts an end to his decades of shameful practices in Indiana,” said Mike Fichter, President and CEO of Indiana Right to Life.

Analysis: Flawed U.S. Law Would Funnel Money to Abortion Groups Away from Mothers and Infants

By Rebecca Oas, Ph.D and Lisa Correnti
Center for Family and Human Rights

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 26 (C-Fam) World Leaders and the U.S. Congress claim to be united about at least one thing: ending preventable deaths in childbirth and infancy by 2030. But while pending U.S. legislation enjoys bipartisan support and avoids mention of the hot button issues of abortion or contraception, it would divert grants away from real maternal health programs, including faith-based, and funnel them to groups endorsing abortion.

The Reach Every Mother And Child (REACH) Act introduced in the Senate by Senator Susan Collins now with 25 co-sponsors falls short in prioritizing evidence-based interventions that prevent and treat the causes of maternal and child mortality. The REACH Act guidelines are based on an existing USAID initiative, “Acting on the Call,” which relies on implementing organizations mostly known for their population control and abortion practices.

This includes groups like Population Services International (PSI) that distributes millions of medical abortion packages overseas and PATH which developed a self-inject version of the harmful injectable contraceptive Depo Provera. Other partnering organizations include the global family planning initiative “FP2020” which prioritizes funding for Depo, and “FHI360” known for scaling up delivery of Depo through community health workers in developing countries, and Population Action International which lobbies against the Mexico City Policy, an executive order that prohibits US funding to groups that perform or promote abortion.

Remembering the Aborted

by Father Frank Pavone, Priests for Life
for Breitbart News Daily

What do you do with an aborted baby?

Do you send the child’s body to a power plant where he or she is burned to generate energy?

That’s what was happening when the British Columbia Health Ministry admitted in 2014 that it shipped aborted babies to Oregon, where a “waste-to-energy” plant used them to produce electrical power for a local utility.

Do you store the aborted baby’s remains in the kitchen?

That’s what abortionist Kermit Gosnell did. When investigators raided the now-convicted-murderer’s Philadelphia clinic in 2010 on drug related charges, they found babies’ dismembered feet inside jars and their bodies stashed in milk jugs, orange juice cartons and cat food containers.

Do you sell the baby’s heart, liver and brain for research?

That’s the practice in abortion clinics that has first uncovered in 1997. This year Congress has launched an investigation that is still ongoing.

New Jersey Attorney General says Banned Doctor Still Running Englewood Abortion Clinic

Bloggers Note: Below is a story which appeared in The Record on August 24, 2016 and was sent out via e-mail from Marie Tasy, Executive Director of the New Jersey Right to Life.  Brigham lost his license to practice in 2014, but apparently that has not deterred him.

by Mary Jo Layton and Richard Newman
The Record

An abortion doctor who lost his license in New Jersey and has been banned from practicing in other states is illegally exerting control over women’s clinics in Englewood and several other locations, the state attorney general has charged.

Additionally, the facility known as Englewood Women’s Services — one of 14 in a chain of clinics that extends to Maryland and Virginia — filed for bankruptcy protection from creditors this week after a federal judge in Maryland three weeks ago awarded $6.5 million to a former patient in a malpractice case.

Dr. Steven C. Brigham, who lost his New Jersey license in November 2014 after illegally performing abortions in Maryland, has been plagued by controversy throughout a career in which he estimated he performed 40,000 abortions — including late-term procedures — even though he never completed a residency in obstetrics or gynecology.

The website for the chain known as American Women’s Services promises low fees, immediate appointments and “private expert care with over 35 years experience.”

After New Jersey revoked Brigham’s license, the state ordered him to divest of all financial interest in the chain of clinics. The physician purported to sign over interests to another doctor who performed abortions at the clinic and then became a medical director after the state suspended Brigham’s license, the state alleges.

“We are arguing that the transfer of ownership was a sham and that through the management services agreement, Brigham is still exerting control over the practice that ought to be exercised by an owner,” said Paul Loriquet, a spokesman for the Attorney General’s Office."

THERE IS NO UNFORGIVENESS IN HEAVEN

By Scott Miller
Men and Abortion Network

Whether a person believes the Bible is the Word of God or not, it still has some important things to say about the nature of human beings.

According the scriptures people were made in the image of God and have an eternal quality to their nature. In other words human beings are designed to live forever.

Scripture also makes it clear that human life begins at conception. So that means that every one of the approximately 60 million babies that have been aborted since 1973 are still living in eternity. This is a troubling thought for someone who has been involved in an abortion and who recognizes that by being a human being themselves, they have the capability of entering the eternal bliss of heaven as well. They are destined to an eternity to where their aborted children are already living. Are you ready for that day if you’ve been part of an abortion?

I know I am. Although it is only through God’s grace that I can say that.

Thirty six years ago my daughter lost her life at an abortion clinic in the United States. I’ve never forgotten her. Oh, I tried to. I tried to drink her memory away with alcohol. I even tried to deny to myself that she ever existed. However, I was always plagued with the reality that she had existed and possibly could still exist.

Pro-life Warriors Speak . . .

I Was a Stranger Booklet Gives Voice to Victims of Abortion

Mark Harrington, National Director
Created Equal

Columbus, OH – August 23, 2016 – The anticipated I Was a Stranger booklet has just been released, featuring "seventeen meditations by those who have been battling abortion for years and have seen its bloody fruits with their own eyes." See book description HERE.

The collection includes a meditation by Created Equal's National Director Mark Harrington in which he shares his own "mountaintop" experience:

"I see them all . . . every one of them." Those were the words of the Lord to me as I sat reflecting on a mountaintop several years ago overlooking the vast expanse of Maine's northern peninsula. He said, "As your heart grieves for them, so does mine. Your purpose is to make them known, not to save them all." --Mark Harrington

Order a copy of this first-ever compilation from those who have been on the frontlines of the abortion battle for decades and who are continuing to persevere.

Created Equal is a social action movement seeking to end the greatest human rights injustice of our time. Killing preborn babies is nothing less than age-based discrimination. Abortion robs us of our future. Our goal is to restore the true meaning of equality to include equal protection between the born and the preborn.

Story of a Baby Saved by Sidewalk Advocates for Life

Lauren Muzyka, Executive Director
Sidewalk Advocates for Life

Another miraculous story from the sidewalk to share with you -- this one from the Southeast! Our program director in that area shared the following with us...

"I'm happy to report a woman with an appointment for an abortion of her 3rd child made the decision to cancel her appointment and go to the (pregnancy center). One of our (Sidewalk Advocates) spoke to her and her husband for about 20-30 minutes after she directed them to a grassy spot next to the Planned Parenthood driveway. (She) spoke to them in Spanish and shared some personal family history, as well as presented the 'Watch Me Grow' pamphlet and fetal model, as she spoke words of help and encouragement to the couple. The woman and her husband left to their new appointment with (the pregnancy center), wearing huge smiles in their joyous decision for life! We all feel blessed!"

After two years of ministry, we can tell you that these amazing stories never get old!

Here's what's even more amazing: When it comes to this incredible journey that the Lord has called us to on the sidewalk ...this is now business as usual.

In fact, just about every day -- thanks to your prayers and support -- we get a story or two like this! Since we started just over two years ago, we've witnessed almost 1,400 babies saved ...among other miracles!

Your support has helped make moments like this possible. God continues to show us that if we say YES to Him – and we persevere – He will show us amazing victories!

Sidewalk Advocates for Life takes a peaceful, prayerful, law-abiding approach to reaching out to those servicing the abortion center. We seek to be the hands & feet of Christ and to ‘stand in the gap’ for those who, ironically, may feel they have no choice. While we provide crisis intervention on the sidewalk to women in unplanned pregnancies headed into the abortion center, we recognize that our outreach can only go so far: we must offer her real, ongoing help or crisis management. Our interaction never ends without offering her life-affirming alternatives such as help from the local pregnancy resource center(s) and other organizations in her local community.
