What's in Her Tetanus Shot?

As women across Kenya reject their “help,” population controllers have sunk to new lows:
Mass sterilizations of unsuspecting women, through a common immunization?

From Steven W. Mosher, President
Population Research Institute

Recently we’ve heard from Catholic bishops in Kenya, where many women refuse to accept the birth control being pushed on them by population controllers.

These women want what God wants for them: More babies.

But in a barbaric display of contempt for Church teachings and for women and babies, population controllers in Kenya are seemingly refusing to take “no” for an answer. Kenya’s Catholic bishops believe that population control groups are sterilizing women without their knowledge or consent.

The bishops fear that “health workers” in Kenya are lacing legitimate medication (a tetanus vaccine) with beta-hCG, an abortifacient proven to sterilize women and kill unborn babies. And the Kenyan government simply looks the other way. (Photo above is a stock photo to protect these women's privacy.)

At the urging of Kenya’s bishops, the Population Research Institute (PRI) is dispatching one of the world’s leading epidemiologists and his aides to Kenya, to investigate this horrific crime.

But I need your continued help to end this and other crimes against women and babies by continuing to support PRI with a tax-deductible year-end gift today.

When PRI proves the Kenyan bishops right, and our research findings are made public, the world will be shocked and outraged.

And you will have been one of the faithful who helped reveal the truth through your continued support of PRI.

But without your ongoing assistance, we will be spread thin to protect the rights of women and babies in Kenya and around the world.

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, please send a gift of any size in Jesus’s name today.

Note: When the Nazis sterilized Jews and others in Europe, historians called it the Holocaust. When officials sterilized mentally disabled people and minorities in the U.S., Hollywood called for the screen rights. But when population controllers sterilize women in Kenya against their will and without their knowledge, they call it “health care.”

If you haven’t already, please help PRI continue its work to educate and advocate  to end this and other despicable practices in the name of population control. Thank you, and God bless you and your family this Christmas, and always.

Values, Acts of Torture, and Obama

by Judie Brown, President
American Life League

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, torture is defined as “the act of causing severe physical pain as a form of punishment or as a way to force someone to do or say something.”

On this subject as it applies to the U.S. intelligence actions and alleged terrorists captured and interrogated, the Obama administration has said publicly that tactics such as waterboarding and other forms of “torture” are “brutal, wrong, and counterproductive.” The administration has been outspoken on this topic, including the release of the controversial CIA report, for Obama believes that enhanced interrogation tactics are “contrary to our values.”

Personally I find Obama’s statements on this subject dubious at best, hypocritical at worst.

We know, for example, that the Obama administration takes nothing short of extremist positions when it comes to torturing/killing preborn babies or threatening the health and welfare of vulnerable Americans. We know Obama turns a blind eye to such atrocities.

So is it any wonder that one is left speculating which set of values Obama is actually talking about?

Think about these facts.

We are learning that advance directives may be hazardous to your health. An advance directive is a document that many people sign in order to have a plan in place in the event they become ill and are unable to speak for themselves. But one expert, Dr. Ferdinando Mirachi, said in an interview that when patients cannot speak for themselves, clinicians may forgo treatment—even for a treatable condition—when an advance directive and DNR order is present.

Powerful Abortion Group Lashes Out at CLI!‏

Chuck Donovan
President, Charlotte Lozier Institute

Is the Guttmacher Institute, Planned Parenthood’s former research arm, feeling threatened by SBA List’s research arm, the Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI)?

It looks like it. They published a report lashing out at research from CLI that helps SBA List and other pro-life groups defend babies from the moment of conception.

Unable to disprove CLI’s research, Guttmacher accuses us of exposing the drugs and devices that cause abortions in the earliest stages of pregnancy because it is “politically convenient.”

Patricia, pro-life lawmakers DO use CLI’s research to defend life, but CLI seeks the truth through science and statistics whether “politically convenient” or not. And as you know, it’s usually not convenient to proclaim the truth of the sanctity of Life in the midst of the culture of death.

For 47 years the Guttmacher Institute has monopolized abortion research, pushing an extreme population control agenda. Their research has been key to public policy that has aggressively expanded abortion-on-demand in America.

America needs the pro-life counterpart to the Guttmacher Institute. Our unborn babies and their moms need a research group like CLI.

You will be David against Goliath if you join the cause to support a pro-life research group for America’s unborn babies and moms, the Charlotte Lozier Institute. The Guttmacher Institute has a $17 million annual budget, while we’re struggling to raise just $40,000 online for the matching grant opportunity.

But you and CLI, like David, have truth on your side and are fighting for God’s children – so I know we’ll reach our goal of $40,000 to be automatically DOUBLED to fund CLI’s 2015 pro-life research projects.

You have just 12 days for your 100% tax-deductible donation to count for this year!

Donate Now: Help CLI be the pro-life answer to powerful pro-abortion research group the Guttmacher Institute. Your gift will be automatically DOUBLED!

Christmas: Season of Life

By Father Frank Pavone, National Director
Priests for Life

St. Augustine said of Christmas, "God became man so that man might become God."

Christmas is about a wondrous exchange of natures: God takes on himself our frail humanity, though without its sin, and we become partakers of the very nature of God (see 2 Peter 1:4). The joy of Christmas is not just that a child is born, but that a whole new humanity is born. This new humanity is not disconnected from the old, but is radically renewed and redeemed. Just as in Adam, all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive (see Romans 5:12-19).

Christmas, then, is about the destiny of the human person. In the Book of Revelation, we read this promise of the Risen Christ to His faithful disciples: "I will give the victor the right to sit with me on my throne" (Rev. 3:21). Thrones, at the time of the New Testament, characteristically allowed more than one person to sit on them. In heaven, we will not only see God's throne, or gather around God's throne; rather, you and I have a place on the very throne of God!

Now some want to give Christmas a totally "this-worldly" meaning: kindness, goodness, the importance of family, joy, and giving. These are all natural values and have meaning for the Christian. But the Christmas message goes far beyond these good things, and talks about where we are ultimately going, and what kind of destiny awaits us beyond the grave. Moreover, the Faith teaches that this destiny begins even now. "He who believes has eternal life" (John 6:47).

Christmas, then, is about the Gospel of Life. It is about the hope of eternal life offered through the birth of a child, and through our birth into His life by our faith. Christmas, then, illumines the meaning and value of every human person. In the light of the manger, we see every human person as one who is called to share the Divine Nature, as one called to sit with Christ on His throne!

Is it possible for one to accept the Christmas message, and then to turn the other way when human life is despised and destroyed? Can the Christian, who declares that the human person is called to the very heights of heaven, stand idly by when those same human beings are thrown in the garbage by abortion, or disposed of by euthanasia?

The hymn "O Holy Night" sums up this lesson in the verse which sings, "Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love, and His Gospel is peace. Chains shall He break, for the slave is our brother, and in His name, all oppression shall cease."

That's how I'm celebrating Christmas this year: a complete re-dedication to ending abortion, the worst form of oppression of my brothers and sisters. I hope that's how you celebrate it too. A child is born, and His birth immerses us in the defense and celebration of life!

Priests for Life has come to signify two distinct but related movements within the wider pro-life movement.

On one level, as described below, Priests for Life refers to a very specific effort to galvanize the clergy to preach, teach, and mobilize their people more effectively in the effort to end abortion and euthanasia.

On another level, Priests for Life represents a family of ministries that reach and enrich every aspect of the pro-life movement, for clergy and laity alike, in a wide variety of activities. This has come to pass precisely because priests are not ordained for themselves, but for the people. So in activating clergy, we are activating all the segments of the Church, the pro-life movement, and the wider society in the defense of life.

We refer to this wider family of ministries as Gospel of Life Ministries, to indicate that what unites them all is the Gospel of Life, the good news that life is victorious over death!

So whether you are clergy or laity, young or old, active or inactive, and whatever your religious or ethnic background, you're in the right place if you want to do something to restore protection to the most vulnerable members of the human family!

The Love That Makes Tough Men Cry

by Kristi Burton Brown
Live Action News

He sat across from us at dinner, wiping his eyes just a bit. The tears seemed to come easily, when they were least expected – except, by now, he’d come to expect them. When it came to his son, he was going to get emotional.

He’d just opened a little gift we’d brought for his son who was yet to be born: football jammies with the abbreviation “MVP” on the left chest. The new dad, my husband’s good friend, beamed with pride, and it was obvious that whether his little boy ever played a day of football in his life or not, he was always going to be his dad’s MVP.

Before we dug into our plates of delicious Mexican food, he showed us a video of his son’s first ultrasound. A tiny little gummy bear, with a very round belly, kicking and swinging for all he was worth. Even at the size of mere bean, this little boy wasn’t going to let anyone miss the truth of his humanity.

The Abortion Lobby's Shell Game

From Martin Fox, President
National Pro-Life Alliance

As investigations by your National Pro-Life Alliance and other pro-life and law enforcement groups have shown, Planned Parenthood staff across the country have again and again:

*** Actively abetted minors in avoiding laws that require parental notification -- even if the minor girl is a likely victim of rape.

*** Concealed life or death information on the risks of surgical and drug abortions.

*** Covered up sex trafficking of young girls in violation of laws requiring them to advise authorities.

*** Kept such shoddy accounting practices that it is a lie for them to say that no taxpayer funds are used for abortion.

But that begs the question.

Are the claims by Planned Parenthood true that their so-called "women's health centers" really service women's health needs?

Or are their claims merely a smoke screen for maximizing the money they spend to perform and promote abortions?

Looking at the evidence, it's clear to me that the second interpretation is true.

As you and other NPLA members know, Planned Parenthood gets your tax dollars both in direct government grants and as reimbursement for "costs" of abortion.

But they get even more of your tax money, supposedly for "other services."

But in case after case, evidence shows these other services are a sham.

For example, in Texas, former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson filed a whistleblower lawsuit, charging that the Houston area Planned Parenthood knowingly sent in some $6 million in false claims to Medicaid and covered up its actions.

The suit states the Houston area abortion facility sent in more than 87,000 reimbursement claims for services that were "false, fraudulent, and/or ineligible."

Secondly, in California, former Planned Parenthood financial officer, Victor Gonzalez, says his internal audit estimated Planned Parenthood overcharged California taxpayers $180 million since the late 1990's in the Los Angeles area alone.

And these two examples are just the tip of the iceberg, as more whistleblowers continue to come out of the woodwork.

The bottom line is, it doesn't matter how Planned Parenthood gets their hands on tax dollars.

Whenever taxpayer dollars flow to Planned Parenthood, you can be sure they will find a way to use them to subsidize their deadly abortion business.

That's why Planned Parenthood must not see a penny from taxpayers for any reason and why your continued support of NPLA efforts is so important.

And also why I hope you will help ratchet up the pressure to cut the taxpayer funding completely and crank up the heat in Congress to pass the "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act" to end ALL taxpayer funding for abortionists.

Pro Life OB/GYN Opens Napro Technology Focused Practice in Southeast Pennsylvania

Dr. Ruberu leading a 40 Days for Life Rally in center city Philadelphia

Dr. Monique Ruberu, is a physician affiliated with Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania, specializing in general obstetrics & gynecology.   A few months ago, she made a decision to stop prescribing contraceptives. Until that time she was one of the busiest doctors in her Ob/Gyn office usually seeing between 20-30 patients a day.

When she decided to stop prescribing contraceptives, a decision was made to move her to her own office space where she could create a new Napro Technology focused practice next door to her current office. In order to make the transition amicable and ensure that she would be able to offer obstetrics in her new office, she made the decision to give up obstetric care for 6 months. Unfortunately this drastically reduced the number of her patients.

Initially she anticipated that her new office space would be available by this past November. Unfortunately it won't be available until January or February of 2015. Nonetheless, she has been given permission to see new patients in her current office.

Dr. Ruberu feels that it is important to fill up her schedule with patients in order to demonstrate that hers is a viable practice. She firmly believes that God wants her to practice medicine that is in alignment with her spiritual and medical beliefs. She realizes that through Him all things are possible. She also hopes that when the word gets out, her schedule will once again be full of wonderful women that she can care for.

Dr. Ruberu currently has office hours available at the Holy Redeemer Hospital medical office building, Suite 118.   The days and hours of practice are:

Mondays (10-12)
Tuesdays (9-5)
Thursdays (9-5)

The phone number for appointments is 215-914-7910

She notes that she will be away on vacation from Dec 20-Jan 5th, but would really like to fill the Jan. and Feb. schedules.

Dr. Ruberu is a strong supporter of natural family planning, and specializes in Creighton Fertility Care and Napro Technology Services.

Note: If you live in or around Southeast Pennsylvania, please get the word out to your pro-life community to support one of the few real pro-life doctors in this area.

OBAMA WANTS YOU TO PAY FOR ABORTIONS—BUT HE DOESN’T WANT YOU TO KNOW ABOUT IT!

Pro-lifers in Congress poised to take action in the new funding bill

by Steven W. Mosher
Population Research Institute

I’m all in favor of providing public health care for the poor and indigent, but the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) is coming to look more and more like a patchwork quilt of deceit. Everyone by now knows—many from sad experience—that the claims that “If you like your doctor and your health care plan, you can keep your doctor and your health care plan,” were simply not true. Hundreds of thousands of doctors have headed for the exits, driven out of the health care profession by the exorbitant demands of Obamacare. At the same time, those same demands have caused millions of health care plans to be cancelled. It turns out that you can’t keep your doctor if he retired and moved to Florida, or your health care plan if it no longer exists.

But what you may not remember is that the President’s Executive Order on abortion—promising that the tax dollars of pro-life Americans would not be used to pay for abortions or for any health plan that includes coverage for abortion—was a sham as well. It’s no wonder that Cecile Richards, the head of Planned Parenthood, dismissed it at the time as a “symbolic gesture.” No amount of presidential paper can cover up the fact that Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services has not for one moment stopped trying to force people of faith to fund abortions. If we don’t recognize this, then Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber was right. We are stupid.

One tactic being used to strong-arm us all into funding Planned Parenthood’s abortuaries is on display in California. In August of this year, the California Department of Managed Health Care suddenly ordered insurance companies to immediately insert surgical and RU-486 abortion coverage into all of their plans. You will cover abortion, they told insurance companies, even if you had previously promised those buying health insurance, such as employers (i.e., the “plan sponsors”) that their plans would specifically exclude abortion. This lawless action forced insurance companies to break faith with plan sponsors who, for reasons of conscience, had previously asked for plans that did not cover abortion. This includes the Catholic Church, whose schools and hospitals had asked for abortion-free insurance plans.

California’s action is clear violation of federal law. The decade-old Weldon Amendment, which is included in the Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bill every year, forbids state and local governments from discriminating against doctors, hospitals or insurers that don’t offer abortion coverage. But—in a now familiar pattern—the autocrats who have taken over our medical care system have little respect for democracy, and none for Life, so they simply ignored the law. In response, the California Catholic Conference has filed a federal civil rights complaint over this patently unlawful action.

But get this: the Weldon Amendment says that the complaint is to be filed with the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services. That is to say, the only recourse that pro-life Californians currently have in the law is to appeal to the very department that, under Obama’s direction, seems determined to force all Americans to pay for abortions. It will come as no surprise to anyone that the Department of Health and Human Services has taken no action, the Weldon Amendment has not been enforced, and the violation is ongoing.

Obamacare is making us all complicit in abortion in more subtle ways as well. Pro-life researchers at the Family Research Council and Charlotte Lozier Institute have discovered that it is nearly impossible for consumers to reliably determine whether the plans they are considering include abortion on demand (seeObamacareAbortion.com). The insurers, obviously taking their clues from the Obama administration, make it very difficult to find out if your prospective plan covers abortion. This is like going to buy a new car and having the salesman refuse to open the hood, or tell you what size engine lies under it.

Fortunately, led by the pro-life House of Representatives, Congress appears set to start ending these abuses. The bill to fund the government for the coming year—H.R. 83, the “Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act”—contains several pro-life provisions. (It is called, in Washington speak, the “CROmnibus,” since it contains a continuing resolution (or CR) for Homeland Security appropriations only through February 27, while funding the rest of the government until next September by an Omnibus of full legislative text for the remaining appropriations bills.)

The CROmnibus addresses both of the backdoor efforts mentioned above to force us all to pay for crimes committed by others.

First, the CROmnibus notes the complaints that have been made by the Catholic Church against California’s abortion mandate and directs the Secretary of HHS to take action:

Healthcare Provider Complaints. Legislation appropriating funding for the Department of Health and Human Services has carried a general provision relating to health care providers since fiscal year 2005 (Division H, Section 507(d) of Public Law 113-76). Complaints regarding reported violations of these provisions have been filed with the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services. The Secretary is directed to respond to these complaints expeditiously in accordance with final rule 45 CFR Part 88 published in Federal Register Vol. 76 No. 36.

While HHS could still stonewall, this congressional directive should help move things forward, at the same time that it warns other states that may be considering similar abortion mandates that Congress intends to enforce the Weldon amendment.

Meanwhile, pro-life leaders are continuing to press for the speedy passage of the Abortion NonDiscrimination Act (ANDA), which would make the Weldon Amendment permanent. ANDA would also give Catholics and other pro-life Christians legal protection if agencies, states or localities tried to force them into paying for, participating in, or performing an abortion. After the new congress is sworn in January, ANDA should be swiftly passed by both Houses, and the battle will shift to the White House.

Second, the CROmnibus also includes an “explanatory statement” calling for greater transparency in health plans:

Transparency in Health Plans.—The agreement directs the Secretary to provide additional clarification to qualified health plans, based upon relevant and related GAO findings, to ensure greater consistency and full transparency of coverage options included in health insurance plans prior to plan purchase in the marketplace enrollment process. The agreement requests a timeline for such clarifying guidance to be submitted to the House and Senate Committees on Appropriations within 30 days after enactment of this act.

This should help ensure that health plan consumers know what they are buying—and to avoid inadvertently funding abortions. A complete resolution of the problem—in the form of a law with teeth—will have to wait until the new Congress is sworn in.

Even then, it will take vigilance on the part of Congress to ensure that such pro-life laws are not simply ignored. This administration seems convinced that it knows better than we, the people, how we should live—and when we should die.

A Young Woman's Story

by Mariah

On May 1, 2013, I was raped, lost my virginity, and was only a mere 16 years old. I wasn't ready but I didn't have a choice. If there was one to follow, I knew immediately that I would make the right one. It was the worst thing that I have ever gone through in my life, thus far. I am a fighter and a survivor. I am very fortunate that I was able to cope with that situation well enough to move on and continue on with life.

I waited a full month to tell anyone about what had occurred but after so long, I couldn't keep it to myself any longer. I couldn't deal with it alone. I spent endless nights awake up into the early morning hours thinking about and reliving that incident...attack.. I would often wonder if I had any diseases or had become pregnant. I had a little dog calendar that I would mark off the days to keep track, just in case. I took a black marker to draw a sad face...silly..maybe..but simple enough that no one would think anything of it..if even just that I had a bad day..well, if only they knew..

When everything was out in the open, I had to be interviewed by police, detectives, children's advocates, doctors, and therapists.. It took a toll on me.. It was like I was constantly reliving the events that took place by having to tell my story over and over and over again.

The most traumatizing of them all was, by far, Planned Parenthood. I have always been Pro-Life and had seen the videos showing what really goes on in there but never thought that I would have to experience it first hand.

On the way to our local Planned Parenthood, my grandmother caught me off guard with a very shocking question. She turned to me and asked, "Now if you are pregnant, do you want to raise "it" or get an abortion?" I looked at her with disgust! I could barely think but one of my few thoughts was not considering abortion! I was almost offended! NO! I was offended! This was the woman who raised me? I was living with a monster. I would die during child birth due to medical complications before having an abortion!

When I did get to Planned Parenthood, it was like a zoo. They were, in fact, animals there. There was a makeshift container with, I'm sure, some condom brand that was made by them. I have heard that they purposely put those out knowing they will break in hopes of making money off of an abortion or two. The people working there had terrible attitudes and the woman who came out to bring me into the back was almost ancient.

The back was full of small and dark rooms. It reminded me of something out of the SAW movies. She led me into one and basically interrogated me. Not once did she mention adoption. I am sure saying that word would be like showing a demon holy water or a cross. All she kept drilling me with was how at 16 years old, I was not capable of taking care of a child and wasn't ready..how it would ruin my life. She told me that I don't even know who the father is or his genetics. She told me that my child might turn out disabled. Did I really want that?

My question/answer..does God really want that for me? If he does, that is what I want as well. MY BABY will be loved unconditionally. Father or not. Disabled or not. A child is a child no matter what. Two wrongs do not make a right, meaning rape and abortion wouldn't solve anything.

Maybe a baby would have healed that damaged part of me. Maybe a baby would have been sent by God to turn such as tragedy like rape into a true miracle. I was not about to let this mean and nasty old woman try to take that miracle away from me. Well, I had to take a pregnancy test, one of the several I had to take during the course of four or five months, just to be sure out of paranoia.

I was sent into probably the filthiest and tiniest bathroom in existence. Not only that but she had me swab MYSELF! That is correct! She did not have it done by an actual doctor! I had to basically do some guess work and hope I did it right. Anyway, after going through all of that, I was not pregnant.

I kind of still feel like my non existent pregnancy is a loss that I am mourning. I am 18 years old now and truly hope that one day I will be able to experience such a blessing. For now, I will just reflect on what could have been..and what wouldn't have happened..

Note: This was given to me by a young women to post to this blog. The story is hers, in her own words.

In posting, we hope that others who may find themselves in the same situation, will find comfort and encouragement from her story.
