Support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act‏

From Pennsylvania Catholic Conference

Hundreds of thousands of Americans will participate in the March for Life this week in Washington, DC. You can take your own stand for the dignity of life by sending a message in support of H.R. 36, important pro-life legislation.

In a January 20 letter to Congress, Cardinal Seán O'Malley, chairman of the U.S. bishops' Committee on Pro-Life Activities, urged support for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 36).

The conviction in 2013 of Philadelphia's Dr. Kermit Gosnell for crimes committed while providing abortions has "led many Americans to realize that our permissive laws and attitudes have allowed the abortion industry to undertake these procedures." People are repulsed "by the callous and barbarous treatment of women and children in Gosnell's clinic, and in other clinics that abort children after 20 weeks."

These procedures also pose serious dangers to women, "as evidenced by Gosnell's own manslaughter conviction for one woman's death, and news about the death or serious complications of other women undergoing such procedures."

Join those participating in this week's March for Life today by standing up for the dignity of all human life. Send a message in support of H.R. 36 today.

AUL Calls on President to cut Tax Dollars from Planned Parenthood’s Billion Dollar Abortion Business

From Americans United for Life

WASHINGTON, D.C. (01-20-15) – On the eve of President Obama’s State of the Union Address, Americans United for Life released a report, noting that the abortion business run by Planned Parenthood has reported over 510 MILLION DOLLARS IN PROFIT since Barack Obama became President. At the same time, Planned Parenthood has taken in 3 BILLION tax dollars in fact, more than 40 percent of its overall support comes from taxpayers. “In his State of the Union Address today, will the President report that during his time in office the number of abortions performed by Planned Parenthood has gone up and taxpayer support of abortion has gone up, while other services, like breast screenings have gone down?” said AUL President and CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest. “Over the objections of the majority of Americans, tax dollars are supporting a highly profitable, highly secretive abortion industry.”

Please take a moment to watch the video below.

Dr. Yoest discussed AUL’s findings in a video as well as in a report prepared by AUL’s legal team. This follows up on AUL’s detailed analysis of Planned Parenthood’s track record, in The Case for Investigating Planned Parenthood and the Planned Parenthood Exhibits, further detailing exactly what kind of “services” are sold by the Abortion Industry leader, which commits nearly 1 in 3 abortions nationwide.

Dr. Yoest observed: “The data in Planned Parenthood’s recently released Annual Report shows that chemical and surgical abortions, along with profits, increased at Planned Parenthood. In fact, 94 percent of its pregnancy related ‘services’ are abortion. Meanwhile, under Cecile Richard’s leadership, the kinds of services touted in its advertising are all down, including cancer screening and prevention, breast exams/breast care, adoption referrals and prenatal services.”

“This report is one more reason for Congress to take up the No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act, to separate the hard-earned dollars of Americans from a grisly business,” said Dr. Yoest. “And this illustrates why repealing Obamacare, which is riddled with funding streams for the abortion industry, is a necessity.”

During the healthcare debates, a Quinnipiac University National Poll found that more than seven out of ten Americans agree that their taxpayer dollars should not be used to pay for abortions — including people who identify themselves as pro-choice and pro-life.

Abortion is woven into the healthcare law at multiple levels, making repeal of the law a pro-life necessity, including:

Failing to prohibit the use of federal tax dollars for abortion, abortion coverage, and abortion-inducing drugs and devices.
Pretending that the Hyde Amendment protections were enough to prohibit direct payment for abortions.
Permitting federally subsidized Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) to provide abortion coverage through the state insurance exchanges required in all 50 states.
Failing to prohibit all multi-state qualified health plans from providing coverage for abortion.
Including a "preventive care" mandate that is being used to force coverage of drugs and devices known to end life.
Failing to provide comprehensive First Amendment conscience protections for individuals, employers, and insurance companies that have religious or moral objections to abortion.

Americans United for Life (AUL) is the legal architect of the pro-life movement. We are accumulating victories, building momentum, and advancing a culture of life in America. Our vision is a nation in which everyone is welcomed in life and protected in law. The first national pro-life organization in America, AUL has been committed to defending human life since 1971.

Fetal Surgery: Hope for Families and the Patient in Utero

From Chuck Donovan
President, Charlotte Lozier Institute

NOTE: Below is the most recent blog from the Charlotte Lozier Institute on the topic of fetal surgery and its role in offering hope to families. I especially wanted to send you this information to arm you with hope, as you can be sure you’ll hear more from legal abortion advocates who exploit cases of an unexpected prenatal diagnosis to justify late-term abortion.

One terrible expression of this sentiment appeared in Slate the other day in a commentary on an Indiana bill that, if passed, would prohibit sex and disability selective abortions. It read, “No one is well served when children with disabilities are forced on families that know they don’t have the emotional or financial resources to help them.” The obligation to help other vulnerable human beings is no matter of force, and we are reminded of instances, including one recently in Northern Virginia, where hundreds of families volunteered to adopt a child with Down Syndrome whose parents were contemplating abortion.

Instead of resorting to a lethal outcome, may we work selflessly to surround these families with the love and support – both emotional and financial – they need.

Please feel free to share this with family and friends. We remain grateful for your support of our mission to promote deeper understanding of the value of every human life.

January is National Birth Defects Prevention Month. In the United States, about 120,000 babies each year have a congenital anomaly, otherwise known as a birth defect, according to the Centers for Disease Control. That is, about one in every 33 babies is diagnosed either prenatally or after birth with a health problem or physical abnormality that varies in degree of severity. Severe birth defects account for the death of one out of every five infants, making it the leading cause of infant mortality.

For parents who receive the heartrending news that their unborn child has a severe or life-threatening fetal anomaly, fetal surgery – surgery performed on a child in the womb – is one option that offers hope.

MLK DAY: #UNBORNBLACKLIVESMATTER TOO.

By Reverend Katherine Marple
KeepLifeLegal

Targeted genocide and eugenics by abortion is NOT what Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. saw in his mind’s eye during his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech. Dr. King was born and raised up by God to do His work just as Moses was with freeing his people from Pharaoh; 40 years in the desert was better to be FREE than one day of oppression and slavery of Pharaoh. Much like Dr. King’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech, Moses had his ‘Let My People Go’ dissertation from God to free his people [Exodus, chpt 5-12]. While art may imitate life, the Word of God actually directs it.

‘For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.’ Psalm 84:10

Clearly, civil rights was the issue of the day; but we are still fighting the fight for the civil rights of our unborn. Abortion facilities target minorities, particularly Black Americans:

  • Black women make up just under 15% of the population.
  • Nearly 40% of all abortions are unborn Black Americans.
  • Abortion is the leading cause of death within the Black community.
  • At LEAST 70% of all abortion facilities are in poor and/or minority neighborhoods; Planned Parenthood is in 79%.

Abortion's Dreadful Toll Thwarts Dr. King's Dream‏

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." -Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

By Cheryl Sullenger
Operation Rescue

Washington, DC - As the nation pauses to remember the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., let us also remember that abortion has taken a dreadful toll on the African American community, which continues to be disproportionately targeted for abortion.

Certainly, in order to realize Dr. King's dream for children to be "judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character," they must first be allowed to be born.

Perhaps nowhere is racial discrimination more evident than inside an American abortion clinic.

DAYS OF MOLECH: CHILD SACRIFICE AT UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN

by Reverend Katherine Marple
KeepLifeLegal

I’m certainly not a doctor, but I’m finding it awfully hard to digest this propaganda PUKE. How can any mother sacrifice her own children to further own agenda…let me ask you this: Would you hand over your born children to be dissected to further science? I mean, are they your children even as embryos or just disposable imperfect trash?

“It was just the responsible, right thing to do,” she said of the donation she and husband, Stephen, made to the University of Michigan. “The idea of being able to help (researchers) get just a little bit closer to a cure is a good feeling.” Read the rest here.

At one time, I bled MICHIGAN MAIZE & BLUE until I found out the truth of the University of Michigan and their hand in furthering the abortion agenda and culture of death.

"Abortion-centered Feminism is Dead"

HR36 Update: In the News‏

From Marjorie Dannenfelser
President, Susan B. Anthony List

You'd be amazed how many pro-life Americans have no idea the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act is rapidly advancing through Congress.

We weren't about to let the mainstream media cover up this historic moment.

So this Thursday, in a packed press briefing at the National Press Club, I declared "Abortion-centered feminism is dead."

I explained:
  • Pro-abortion women candidates hid from their radical positions in 2014;
  • We sent a record number of pro-life women to Congress;
  • 60% of American women support limiting abortion at least after 5 months of pregnancy;
  • Congress is answering by acting quickly on the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.
Even pro-abortion reporters can't deny that abortion-centered feminism is dead... and that the pro-life movement is on the cusp of a historic victory for unborn children.

Please help us keep spreading the message! Your donation will help us stretch every penny working to advance the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and educate more Americans about their chance to help save up to 18,000 lives every year.

Help us reach more pro-life Americans who will speak out about HR36 by making a donation using this link.
