‘Unplanned’ Movie Director Says Film Was Made ‘For Such a Time as This’

The director of the forthcoming movie “Unplanned” says the pro-life film was made “for such a time as this,” as several states are advancing radical abortion laws.

Last month, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D)
signed into law a bill legalizing abortion “at any time when necessary to protect a woman’s life or health.” Lawmakers in VirginiaRhode Island and Vermont are promoting similar bills.

“We couldn’t have foreseen the rapid developments that are suddenly coming to a head,” director Chuck Konzelman told Faithwire, “but we serve a God who could, and did.”

Embedded video

In theaters everywhere March 29. is the true story of one woman’s journey of transformation. Abby Johnson was one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in the nation.Until the day she saw something that changed everything. http://Unplanned.com

Konzelman went on to say the movie, premiering March 29, should “serve as a wakeup call to the church of believers in Christ.”
“If believers can have their consciences awakened — if they can collectively decide ‘abortion is wrong’ and act upon that decision — then abortion in this country will end,” he added.
The $6 million project, filmed secretly in Oklahoma, chronicles the experiences of Abby Johnson, a former Planned Parenthood clinic director who left the organization after watching an abortion via ultrasound. She immediately recognized what she thought she was fighting for — women’s rights — was not at all reality.

After taking part in some 22,000 abortions and counseling a great number of women through the termination process, Johnson walked away from the nation’s largest abortion provider and linked up with her former adversaries in the pro-life cause.
Konzelman, who also co-produced “God’s Not Dead,” said the reaction to the movie “has been truly amazing.”
While the film has received accolades from both Protestant and Catholic leaders, the “Unplanned” director said “the most telling” reaction came from a nurse who worked for infamous abortionist Kermit Gosnell, who was convicted in May 2013 of first-degree murder in the deaths of three infants and is serving a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
“She watched the film, and afterwards, she said, ‘All I saw on that screen was love,’” Konzelman recalled. “That’s a pretty amazing statement, given where she’s coming from. And it reflects the fact that the film doesn’t demonize the people who work in the abortion field.
He even described the movie a “love letter of sorts” to those who have, like Johnson, worked in the abortion industry. Konzelman even said he hopes the film strikes a graceful note with those who have their own intimate experiences with abortion.

To moviegoers who have “unresolved abortions in their past,” Konzelman said he hopes the upcoming film will “help steer them through recognizing that abortion is, and will forever be, wrong. But instead of remaining stuck in grief or shame, they should ask God’s forgiveness, then accept that forgiveness.”

“Let’s face it,” he explained, “by Abby Johnson’s own admission, she was complicit in 22,000 abortions, including two of her own. Few, if any, of our audience members will be bearing that burden of guilt. But if Abby can be forgiven, then why not them, too?”
The Pure Flix movie hits theaters across the U.S. on Friday, March 29. To learn more about the pro-life film, click here.

Supreme Court Will Decide Next Week on Pro-Life Louisiana Law That Could Close Abortion Clinics

By Kevin Daley

The Supreme Court will delay its decision as to whether a Louisiana abortion law can take effect.

The Louisiana measure — which was scheduled to take effect Monday — requires that physicians conducting abortions have admitting privileges at a local hospital.

In a short order issued Friday night, Justice Samuel Alito said the Court would block implementation of Louisiana’s law until Feb. 7 because the justices need time to review court filings from each party. The last of those filings was submitted on Friday morning.

“This order does not reflect any view regarding the merits of the petition,” Alito wrote.
Alito issued the statement because he is the justice assigned to hear emergency petitions arising from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the federal appellate court that covers Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

The Louisiana law is called Act 620 or the Unsafe Abortion Protection Act. Pro-choice litigators say it is substantially similar to a Texas regulation the Supreme Court found unconstitutional in 2016.

In that case, Whole Women’s Health v. Hellerstedt, the high court concluded the Texas act had no obvious health benefit for women and adverse consequences for abortion access. Over half the state’s abortion clinics closed subsequent to the law’s enactment.

Though a federal trial court judge struck down Act 620 has unconstitutional in light of Hellerstedt, the 5th Circuit reversed and allowed it to take effect.

Yet Another Butcher

Martin Fox, President
National Pro-Life Alliance

Most Americans have never heard of LeRoy Carhart, an abortionist currently working out of Bellevue, Nebraska.

Yet he’s made a career of ending innocent unborn life for more than thirty years.

The fact is, he has eagerly served as the face of the abortion lobby in battles against pro-life legislation, contesting the 2003 Partial Birth Abortion Ban in the Supreme Court case Gonzales v. Carhart, which he thankfully lost.

To this day, Carhart complains about that case, lamenting that he can no longer legally kill babies after they have already been partially delivered.

But even so, Carhart continues to slaughter unborn babies day after day -- even performing abortions at the ninth month of pregnancy.

At this late date, these babies are fully viable, fully formed, and fully capable of feeling pain.

Yet abortionists like Carhart have no problem ripping them from their mothers’ wombs.

After botching an abortion, Carhart left the mother in agony, bleeding heavily, and struggling for breath in the emergency room.

As for her child, at seventeen weeks that baby had arms, legs, fingers, toes, and a heartbeat. Its bones were hardening, and it could begin to move and kick.

But like so many others, that baby tragically died at the hands of LeRoy Carhart.

This brutality is the kind of thing you and I are up against.

And it’s why you and I must fight to end this slaughter of innocents once and for all.

Pro-Life Waco Action Alert: February Updates

from John Pisciotta, Director
Pro-Life Waco

1. Feb 5 road trip to Fort Worth to protest PP luncheon fundraiser.

This is our most powerful out-of-town protest. The luncheon Gala fundraiser on Tuesday, February 5 is at the Omni Hotel in downtown Fort Worth (1300 Houston Street). The layout is so advantageous for we life defenders. The hotel entrance is the street sidewalk--a public right of way reserved for us. The vanpool departs St. Mary's church parking lot at 9:30 AM sharp. The game plan is to begin the protest at 11 AM. We will protest into the noon hour before returning. We will have an enjoyable time of fellowship/dining at a Denny's on the south side of Fort Worth. We have 12 spots available for those who will join this venturesome day. Please reply by email or to my phone 254-644-0407 to reserve your travel spot for the day. We should be back before 4 p.m. You are welcome to get to the hotel on your own and meet us there. Invite your Fort Worth friends. If you live in the Fort Worth/Dallas area, it would be great if you could come out to proclaim that Planned Parenthood is not welcome in Texas.

2. Second Sunday Gathering with 40 Days for Life emphasis.

February 10 may be the most important Second Sunday of 2019. This is the final Second Sunday before 40 days for Life launches on Wednesday, March 6. So come out and hear about the plans for 2019 40 Days for Life, special 40 Days events, to sign up for your hour or hours of prayer at Planned Parenthood for 40 days for life. You can also get materials to recruit your friends and family to volunteer to pray for intentions such as maternal decisions for life and the eventual end to the abortion holocaust in our city. Pro-Life Waco’s Ecumenical Second Sunday luncheon/meeting is on February 10 at the parish hall of St. Mary’s Church in Waco. An Italian luncheon will be served throughout the noon hour—adults $3. Free for children and first-time attendees. Then our action planning meeting in from 1 to 2 p.m. Children are always welcome at Second Sunday.

3. Protest PP Waco social event on Tuesday, Feb 12.

The name of the event is Galentine's Volunteer Night. We ask you to come to Planned Parenthood at 700 W Hwy. 6 between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. We will protest the event until 6:30. Here is what Planned Parenthood local leaders say about the event, "Galentine's Day is a day before Valentine's Day to appreciate friendships and other people in our lives we value that are not our romantic loves. Planned Parenthood is taking this perfect opportunity to celebrate our expert health center staff." Last time that we had an opportunity to protest Planned Parenthood locally about 70 life-defenders participated. Can we reach 100 on February 12?

Why protest?
  1. We invite PP employers and supporter to think again about their support for abortion.
  2. We show the community traveling HWY 6 that PP is not welcome in Central Texas.
  3. Those who participate in the abortion holocaust should not be allowed to have their social events in tranquility as if they were a daycare provider.

Finally, because of an accident, I no longer have my Chrysler Town & Country station wagon. However, on the bright side, I have just purchased a Chrysler Pacifica station wagon that is quite nice. The first seven people to volunteer for the Fort Worth protests on February 5 are invited to travel in relative luxury in my new vehicle.

Planned Parenthood Cheers for New York, Virginia Abortion Legislation

abortion, pregnancy, Planned Parenthood

By Carole Novielli
Live Action News

The shocking move to “expand” abortion for any reason up to birth now being pushed in Virginia, New York, and Vermont did not occur in a vacuum. It has been part of an organized plan spearheaded by abortion insiders, including the largest chain of abortion facilities in the nation, Planned Parenthood. Support for measures to remove abortion from all state criminal codes will ensure a large windfall for the abortion industry especially in states that already force taxpayers to fund abortion. Taxpayer funding of abortion is one of Planned Parenthood’s goals.

Planned Parenthood proudly endorsed New York’s move to repeal all restrictions in New York’s criminal code, enabling abortions past viability for even reasons of emotional or familial “health.” PPNYC Action Fund said the passage of the Reproductive Health Act meant New York could “finally grow to be a model of what sexual and reproductive health care should be….” Read that again. PPNYC Action Fund believes New York’s extreme abortion law that caused widespread outrage is the ideal.

Planned Parenthood president Leana Wen, who recently emphasized abortion was Planned Parenthood’s “core mission,” also celebrated the abortion law in New York. She said, “This law makes crystal clear that abortion is standard medical care.”

So, it was no surprise that the largest abortion corporation in the nation would also support Virginia’s move to permit unfettered abortion for all months of pregnancy in the state, via HB2491, sponsored by Del. Kathy Tran. Tran was clear that the bill would allow a woman to obtain an abortion up to the time she gives birth:

READ: Virginia Democrat admits bill allows for abortion… even during labor

Planned Parenthood poured large sums of money into recent elections in Virginia to guarantee that friendly and radically pro-abortion advocates, including Tran, would assist them in expanding abortion, a national 2019 goal outlined late last year.

On Twitter, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia, Planned Parenthood’s advocacy arm, backed Tran’s extreme late-term legislative abortion measure, dubbing the bill’s sponsors “champions for reproductive health.”

Tran can be seen here in the video with representatives of Planned Parenthood and Whole Woman’s Health — both abortion clinic chains — who support her horrific bill:

In mid January, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia Missy Wesolowski joined Tarina Keene, executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Virginia, in publishing an abortion manifesto of sorts in the Richmond-Times Dispatch. The joint opinion editorial endorsed Kathy Tran’s horrific legislation (emphasis added):

… [W]e must also repeal the existing restrictive and demeaning abortion laws on the books by passing the Repro Equal Access Laws Act sponsored by Sen. Jennifer McClellan and Del. Kathy Tran. These laws have been on the books for too long, failing to reflect current medical knowledge and standards of practice, and interfering with the doctor-patient relationship.

This bill would finally repeal the medically unnecessary and overly burdensome regulations such as the belittling 24-hour waiting period, mandatory ultrasound, and other medically pointless laws….

We Need You Down in Trenton on Thursday, February 7th for Senate Hearing on Assisted Suicide!

from Marie Tasy, Executive Director
New Jersey Right to Life

Late yesterday afternoon, the Senate Health Committee scheduled a hearing on Thursday, February 7th at 1 p.m. on the NJ Assisted Suicide bill late (S1072).

We are presently hearing that the full Assembly Vote may vote on the companion bill, A1504, before the end of the month so right now it is critically important for you to do these two things:

1. Please call and email your 2 Assembly Members and State Senator to urge them to Vote No on A1504/S1072. Please do this even if you have contacted them previously. You can call and email them with a pre-written email and suggested phone message we prepared by clicking on the link here: Take Action Now to Oppose Assisted Suicide!

You can also call the Office of Legislative Services at 1-800-792-8630 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to obtain the names and phone numbers of your
two Assembly Members and State Senator. You will need to provide your town and zip code when calling.
You can also search for your 2 Assembly Members and State Senator by looking up your municipality: Here

Note: we have also created a Targeted Action Alert to select Senators on the Senate Health Committee. You will only be able to act on this alert f you live in one of these Senator's districts. If you do, please send the pre-written email and phone message included in this alert: Please Vote No on S1072

2. Please plan to come down to Trenton on Thursday, February 7th. Proponents will be there and we must be there as well to demonstrate that there is significant opposition to this bill. The plan is to line the halls of the State House by 9:30 a.m. as legislators are arriving so you can interact with them before all the hearings begin. It is vital that we continue to have a strong presence at the State House on this day to lobby our legislators to Vote No on the bill. If you can also stay for the 1 p.m. hearing, that would be helpful, but please be prepared that it will probably be a very long day.

What You Should Know if You are Coming to the State House on February 7th:

Plan to meet in the State House Cafeteria on Thursday, February 7th by 9 a.m. Bring your photo ID which you will need to go through security at the State House and for parking in the Underground State House Garage. Inform the security guard(s) that you are there to attend the Senate Health Committee.

For parking locations and directions to the State House, click here

Please remember to be cordial when speaking to legislators even if they disagree with our point of view. If given the opportunity, please use personal experiences to convince legislators to vote against this bill. Labels to wear on your clothing will be provided as well as materials to hand out to legislators.

Please do not engage with proponents of the bill while you are at the State House. I can't stress this enough. Please remember, we are there to use our valuable time to convince our lawmakers that this bill should be defeated.

Can I count on you, Unborn to come down to Trenton on February 7th? Please RSVP to jruggiero@diometuchen.org if you plan to come down to Trenton on February 7th.

Please don't forget to email and call your 2 Assembly Members and State Senator to urge them to Vote No on A1504/S1072. You can do this by clicking on the link below.
Take Action Now to Oppose Assisted Suicide!

Contact Senator on Health Committee (if you live in their district) by clicking on link below:

Please continue to contact your 3 State Legislators even if you have done so previously. This may be our last chance to stop the bill. Feel free to share this information with pro-life friends and family and encourage them to sign up for our Action Emails so we can add to our Network of contacts.

Don't forget to check your email regularly for more information and updates on the impending Assembly Vote.

Please help us keep up the pressure on our legislators to Vote No on this dangerous and misguided bill!
Please don't forget to email Jennifer Ruggiero at jruggiero@diometuchen.org if you plan to come down to Trenton on February 7th.

CNBC’s ‘Children Cost Too Much’ Story Sparks Major Backlash

"You can't put a monetary value on family. Family is the greatest blessing of all." -Lauren Coffey

CNBC’s ‘Children Cost Too Much’ Story Sparks Major Backlash

By Michael Foust
Christian Headlines

A CNBC story touting the cost savings of not having children sparked a major backlash over the weekend, with parents on Facebook and Twitter writing personals testimonies about the blessings of childrearing.

The story’s original title read, “You can save half a million dollars if you don't have kids,” although it eventually was changed to a slightly less offensive, “Here’s how much you save when you don’t have kids.”

The story’s arguments reflected the headline.

“Your friends may tell you having kids has made them happier,” it read. “They’re probably lying. Research shows that parenthood leads to a happiness gap. Maybe that’s because the pleasures of parenthood are outweighed by all the extra responsibilities, housework and, of course, the costs. Maybe that’s why Americans are having fewer children than ever before. Just how much can you expect to save if you don’t have kids?”
The story asserted that in the years between a child’s birth and his or her 18th birthday, parents will spend $467,000.
“If you don’t have kids, in short, you’ll save a lot of money,” the author, Yoni Blumberg, wrote.
It ended with a nod to the other side of the argument: Childless parents may spend all their money in the nursing home when “there is no around to take care of you.” Still, parents on social media felt the story was over the top and that it ignored the priceless benefits of parenthood. Comments about the article were overwhelmingly negative.

Days After Extreme Abortion Bill Exposed, Vandals Strike Virginia Pregnancy Center

“It makes me sad. I’m not angry; it’s just sad because none of it is true,” Dimeo said. “We’re not a fake clinic, we have a doctor on staff; we have sonographer on staff. We do ultrasounds, STD testing, pregnancy testing."

By Newsroom
Live Action News

On the heels of the introduction of an extreme bill allowing abortion up to birth in the state of Virginia, a facility belonging to The Pregnancy Centers of Central Virginia in Culpeper was vandalized on Friday morning. Spray paint covered signs and the sides of buildings on the property, and a window was broken.

Lindy Dimeo, Patient Advocate Coordinator for the Pregnancy Centers, said this is the first time in two decades that this has occurred.

“I think it’s connected to what’s going on in our country,” she said Friday morning. She first learned about the vandalism on social media. The attack was called in to the Culpeper Police Department at 3:30 am Friday.

READ: Report: Pregnancy centers served nearly 2 million with free services in 2017

Vandals sprayed “fake,” “Jesus hates this sh$%,” and “You hate women” onto the center’s signs. Pro-abortion groups such as NARAL and Planned Parenthood have been spreading false information about pregnancy help centers over the last year or more, claiming that they lie to and shame women.

In reality, the pregnancy centers provide services such as pregnancy tests and ultrasounds to women free of charge. They give them information on their legal options and if they choose to keep their baby, the Pregnancy Centers of Central Virginia provide women with free baby gear including diapers, cribs, clothing, and other supplies.

Pro-life centers vastly outnumber abortion clinics, and when a woman chooses life, it takes money away from abortion clinics. In stark contrast, Planned Parenthood has been caught lying to women about fetal development and abortion risks, and aiding and abetting sex traffickers and abusers.

Trump Will Promote Life in State of the Union After Democrats Push Abortion Up to Birth, Infanticide

By Steven Ertelt
Life News

President Donald Trump is expected to include a pro-life message in the State of the Union address next Tuesday. Such a message would come after Democrats have been pushing abortion up to birth and infanticide.

Trump has governed as a pro-life president and wasted no time during his first week in office defunding the International Planned Parenthood abortion business. Since that time he has worked on defunding Planned Parenthood domestically, he has defunded the UNFPA which promotes abortion, he has promoted abstinence education, and he’s pressed the pro-life view at the United Nations.

That is a stark contrast to Democrats who recently have been promoting legislation in various states to legalize abortions up to birth. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo recently signed into law legislation in his state allowing abortions up to birth and revoking protections even for babies who survived failed abortions.

This week, pro-abortion Virginia governor Ralph Northam came under heavy fire after promoting infanticide and saying it’s okay if doctors and parents have a discussion allowing babies to die after birth who are severely disabled.

With that in mind, Politico reports that Trump will reportedly include a pro-life message in his National address next Tuesday:

President Donald Trump is telling conservative allies he wants to incorporate firm anti-abortion language into his State of the Union address Tuesday, and potentially include an anti-abortion figure among his list of invitees, according to four sources familiar with his plans.

Trump sees an opening to energize his evangelical supporters and capture moderate voters who administration officials believe may be turned off by widespreadcoverage of New York’s newest abortion law, which allows for termination of some pregnancies after the 24-week mark for health reasons.

Abortion has crested as an issue for conservative legal activists in recent days after New York’s Democratic governor, Andrew Cuomo, signed the late-term abortion bill last Tuesday. Trump has discussed the issue with prominent conservative Christians, including on a phone call this week with Faith & Freedom Coalition President Ralph Reed, a White House official confirmed to POLITICO.

“The president wants to reaffirm his commitment to pro-life things,” said the Republican close to the White House, adding that Trump doesn’t want his third appearance before a joint session of Congress to be “all fire and brimstone.”
