House Will Send Bill De-Funding Planned Parenthood to Obama in January, Sets Veto Override Vote

The House of Representatives announced plans today for January votes to confirm the changes the Senate made to the reconciliation bill that would de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business, which was caught selling the body parts of aborted babies.Hearings have exposed how the abortion company likely violated federal laws to sell the body parts.

The House plans to vote for the Senate-passed de-funding legislation on January 6 after Congress returns from its Christmas break. Once it approves the bill, Speaker Paul Ryan will sign it and send it to pro-abortion President Barack Obama, who is expected to veto the legislation. The vote would come days before Obama’s expected State of the Union address and Obama has 10 days to sign or veto the bill, which he’s already threatened to do.

Following Obama’s veto, House Republican leaders announced they will push for a veto override vote on January 26th. That vote would come just days after more than half a million Americans are expected to march for life in the nation’s capital and solemnly mark the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, which has resulted in the deaths of 57 million unborn babies since 1973.

Both the House and Senate would need a two-third vote (67%) to override Obama’s expected veto. The House passed the bill in October on a 55% vote margin with virtually every Democrat voting against it.

Leading pro-life groups say the passage of the Planned Parenthood de-funding bill and the subsequent veto and override votes sets up the pro-life movement for the 2016 elections — where pro-life voters will need to defeat pro-abortion Hillary Clinton and elect a pro-life president if they want the nation’s biggest abortion business de-funded in 2017.

Group Helps Memorialize Children Lost Through Miscarriage, Stillbirths

From CaholicPhilly.com

ARLINGTON, Va. (CNS) — When Kara Palladino lost a child through miscarriage about a year ago, she knew she wanted to bury the baby in a way that honored her Catholic faith.

But after calling a long list of funeral homes and cemeteries, she couldn’t find any with a plan in place to bury and memorialize an infant lost before birth. In many cases, the cost was prohibitive, with one cemetery charging $5,000 for a burial.

The experience motivated Palladino, a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Gainesville, to make the process easier for other grieving parents.

“I didn’t want people to have to suffer needlessly, to have to hear ‘no’, ‘no,’ ‘no’ when they are in such a state,” she said. So the mother of seven — including one deceased child — went to work creating “a m.o.m.s. peace: a ministry for mothers of miscarried and stillborn souls.”

The ministry walks families through the burial process and offers programs to commemorate the young lives. It aligns with Catholic teaching, but individuals of all faiths are welcome, said Palladino. Serving families in central and Northern Virginia, the ministry charges a small fee to cover costs, which are offset by donations.

Through partnerships with local cemeteries, a m.o.m.s. peace helps secure an affordable location to bury a child and helps obtain graveside markers and a casket. The ministry also serves parents who do not have the baby’s remains. Whether a woman loses a baby late-term or miscarries just weeks into the pregnancy, “we are here to embrace her,” Palladino told the Arlington Catholic Herald, newspaper of the Diocese of Arlington.

Mary McCarthy Hines, who gave birth to her stillborn daughter in September, reached out to a m.o.m.s. peace for help ordering and overseeing the installation of a grave marker. “When grieving, any amount of help you can get to handle those logistical details takes such a load off the effort,” said Hines, a member of St. Raymond of Penafort Church in Springfield.

Meg Profoundly Regrets Her Abortion: “I Lived in Shame and Darkness” Until I Found Christ

megperez

By Dave Andrusko

As we wrote in “Set to abort, mother who changed her mind says without her son, ‘I wouldn’t have had a purpose yet,’” The Cincinnati Enquirer, no hotbed of pro-life sentiment, ran a series of six stories headlined “Abortion: The most important decision of her life–How six women, who each considered abortion, made their decision.”

Our first post was on Brittany Davis who had intended to abort but by mistake wound up in the parking lot of a CPC. She realized she really didn’t want to have an abortion and now is the proud and happy mother of Liam.

This second story is about Meg Perez and was written by Carrie Cochran and Chrissie Thompson.

The headline is apt—“After adoption, an abortion – and regret” — but only begins to capture her complicated and tragic decision and the “bumpy” road to self-forgiveness. It is a long story very much worth reading in its entirety.

Perez was a newly single mom with a three year old son. When she became pregnant, her boyfriend wanted no part of raising a child. There were work pressures, financial pressures, plus “I had no support,” Perez said. She calls it “emotional chaos.” Moreover

“I felt like I couldn’t reach out to my family with a second mistake in 20-some years, and I didn’t want to burden anyone with it. … It was another dose of shame, layered over me.”

Americans United for Life Launches “Infants’ Protection Project

Ensuring that the Humanity of the Unborn is Legally Protected and Respected

Heading into 2016 State Legislative Sessions, the Infants’ Protection Project will be a Companion to AUL’s Influential Women’s Protection Project

“In this season, as many consider the beauty of the words ‘Unto Us a Child is Born,’ Americans United for Life is launching a new ‘Infants’ Protection Project’ because every life can change the world and deserves a chance,” said AUL’s Dr. Charmaine Yoest.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (12-08-15) – “At this time of the year, when many pause from daily struggles to reflect on the unique contributions one baby made to the world, Americans United for Life is announcing its groundbreaking ‘Infants’ Protection Project’ to advance legal protections for the humanity of the unborn, as well as to address ongoing abortion industry abuses,” said Americans United for Life President and CEO Dr. Charmaine Yoest. “Already, AUL is receiving requests for a legislative package to address not only the barbaric trafficking in infant body parts, revealed by the Center for Medical Progress videos, but also the inhumanity of late-term abortion procedures which cause excruciating deaths for infants and carry substantial health risks for women. During this season, when many consider the beauty of a mother and her newborn son, Americans United for Life offers this package of legislation to care for both mother and child.”

Dr. Yoest continued, “AUL’s unique legislative package, the Infants’ Protection Project, is being released in advance of the 2016 edition of Defending Life, the pro-life playbook, which will be released nationwide in January as state legislative sessions open and the nation commemorates the tragic anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

“For more than 40 years, AUL has worked to protect unborn children and their mothers with constitutionally sound model legislation. The Infants’ Protection Project builds on AUL’s uniquely effective mother-child strategy that considers both victims of a greedy abortion industry that places profits over people.”

AUL’s unique package of laws in the Infants Protection Project includes:

Multi-State Tour to Expose PP for Evil Deeds

Killing babies, harvesting body parts and dumping aborted children in landfills among misdeeds

Columbus, OH – Dec 17, 2015 – In Ohio, Planned Parenthood (PP) just got busted for dumping dead babies into landfills. What was their response? Instead of fessing up to their evil deeds, they sued the ones who caught them! This comes on the heels of last summer's videos, which uncovered PP's grisly trade in aborted baby parts. Dumping aborted children in landfills is just the latest in a litany of dastardly deeds that span over the 99 years of PP's checkered history.

In response, prior to the 43rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade, Created Equal is launching a multi-state tour of Planned Parenthood facilities to expose them for killing babies, harvesting their body parts, and dumping the leftover children in landfills. The tour includes the use of huge billboards, mobile TV displays and other abortion victim imagery.

Here are the details:
  • Jan. 13-15, 2016 – Three Ohio Planned Parenthood centers (Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland) caught tossing aborted children into landfills.
  • Jan. 18, 2016 – Pittsburgh Planned Parenthood located at 933 Liberty Ave, Pittsburgh, PA and York PP located at 728 S Beaver St, York, PA.
  • Jan. 19, 2016 – Falls Church PP located at (303 S Maple St, Falls Church, PA.
  • Jan. 20, 2016 – Baltimore PP located at (330 N Howard St, Baltimore, MD.
  • Jan. 21, 2016 – Washington, DC PP (under construction) located at 1225 4th St NE, Washington, DC.
Created Equal is a social action movement seeking to end the greatest human rights injustice of our time. Killing preborn babies is nothing less than age-based discrimination. Abortion robs us of our future. Our goal is to restore the true meaning of equality to include equal protection between the born and the preborn.

Protecting preborn children is our cause. What makes Created Equal a movement is that we are an organized, mobilized generation choosing to live intentionally to protect the weak and defenseless by drawing strength and inspiration from one another.

Our various media make it possible for people to become part of a grassroots effort intelligently responding to injustice. We are 21st century defenders. There’s a place for everyone in this movement. Join us.

Wolf Shows Support of Planned Parenthood, Abortion Again

From the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation

Gov. Tom Wolf has close ties to the abortion giant Planned Parenthood - he once volunteered for the group.

Wolf continues to show his allegiance to Planned Parenthood, which aborts more unborn babies than any other group in the U.S. After the tragic shooting in Colorado Springs in November, our pro-abortion governor posted a Facebook message about his support of Planned Parenthood. Read it here.

They Had to Change the “Island of Misfit Toys” After So Many Children Had This Big Complaint

islandofmisfittoys

By Jesi Smith

“What kind of Santa would condemn all the Misfits to an island by themselves?” asked my 16 year old with disgust.

“Santa is prejudiced against the handicapped toys,” chimed in my younger daughter.

One of my sons agreed saying, “Yeah, Santa wouldn’t even accept Rudolf… until Rudolf could do something for him.”

Poor Rudolf, even his parents were embarrassed and rejected him until he was found to have some use in their eyes. My children were having a very serious discussion about “Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer” that caught my attention.

I thought they were making fun of one of my favorite Christmas classics by analyzing its hokey animation and plot, but after listening to their discussion I realized that I had grown up with a lie – that even toys that are broken in ‘mind’ and body are worth less than those who are whole.

Did you know Santa did not save the Misfit Toys in the original 1964 stop motion animation “Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer?” According to the article ‘10 Things You Didn’t Know About Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer’ by Amanda Ferris, angry letters from children demanded the Misfit Toys be helped and thus the short scene that showed Santa and Rudolf making good on their promise to go back to the island and deliver the Misfits to homes was added and has been shown since 1965.

Islamic State Issues Fatwa Against Children with Down Syndrome, Murders 38 Disabled Infants

Mosul Eye/Facebook

By Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D.

The Islamic State has reportedly issued a fatwa ordering the elimination of children with Down syndrome and other congenital disabilities, reminiscent of Hitler’s infamous “Aktion T4” program, which administered forced “euthanasia” on an estimated 300,000 disabled persons.

According to the Iraqi activist blog Mosul Eye, sharia judges have ruled that ISIS followers are authorized to kill infants with Down Syndrome or congenital deformities. Already since the religious decree (fatwa) was issued, militants have killed at least 38 children between one week and three months old by lethal injection or suffocation.

In a post on the Mosul Eye Facebook page, the group claims that any child with a disability is now at risk of being killed, and released a brief video showing disabled children. The killings reportedly took place in ISIS strongholds in Syria and Mosul, the northern Iraqi city seized by ISIS in June 2014.

Mosul Eye claims to report directly from Mosul, and has reliably reported on Islamic State incidents in the past. It has been called “one of most accurate chronicles of life under Islamic State rule.”

The group says it has monitored the deaths of several children with Down Syndrome and congenital deformities. They learned of an “Oral Fatwa” issued by the sharia board of the Islamic State authorizing its members to “kill newborn babies with Down’s [sic] Syndrome and congenital deformities and disabled children.”

The Fatwa was issued by a Saudi sharia judge named Abu Said Aljazrawi.

Aborted Babies “Cooked” then Dumped in Landfill, Says OH AG; Planned Parenthood Sues Back

By Cheryl Sullenger
Operation Rescue

Columbus, OH – As a result from an investigation prompted by undercover videos released by the Center for Medical Progress that shows the involvement of certain Planned Parenthood affiliates in the illegal trafficking of aborted baby remains, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine notified the Ohio Department of Health that three Planned Parenthood facilities improperly contract with companies that “cook” aborted baby remains then dump them in a Kentucky landfill.

DeWine said his office would ask a court next week for an injunction barring Ohio Planned Parenthood abortion businesses from continuing their illegal dumping practices. To counter that action, Planned Parenthood filed suit in Federal Court on Sunday. In that suit, Planned Parenthood accused DeWine’s allegations of being politically motivated and inflammatory for the purpose of ending abortion in Ohio.

“First steam-cooking fetuses and then disposing of them in a landfill is not humane,” DeWine told the Cincinnati.com on Friday. “It will come as a shock to Ohioans to find out that fetuses are being cooked and then they’re being put in a landfill, and they’re going to be mixed in with the garbage and whatever else goes into a landfill.”

“Planned Parenthood’s suit is an obvious ploy to deflect attention from their own lawbreaking by falsely accusing the Attorney General,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman, who also serves on the Board of the Center for Medical Progress. “But perhaps the larger question is if dumping the cooked remains of aborted babies in landfills is inhumane, shouldn’t we also consider the dismemberment deaths of these babies through suction or other procedures more inhumane?”

Planned Parenthood abortion facilities in Cincinnati, Columbus, and Bedford Heights are involved in the illegal human tissue disposal scheme. These clinics contract with two disposal businesses that autoclave, or steam cook, aborted baby remains in order to supposedly kill bacteria then the remains are then dumped in an unnamed landfill across state lines.

Interestingly, a press release issued by DeWine on Friday indicated that one of the companies that contracts with Planned Parenthood in Bedford Heights “stated to investigators it does not accept fetal remains for disposal as a corporate policy.” This calls to question whether the company or Planned Parenthood has misled investigators.

“Not surprisingly, Planned Parenthood has denied the allegations, as it always does when it gets caught breaking the law. When abortion clinics commit crimes, they should be prosecuted like anyone else. Abortion businesses must not be held above the law,” said Newman.

A note from Operation Rescue:
Three Planned Parenthood businesses in Ohio have been throwing the bodies of murdered babies into landfills!
This is illegal, and the Ohio Attorney General is investigating. However, the pro-abortion media isn’t covering this crime. Ordinary Americans haven’t heard about this.
With the effort to defund Planned Parenthood reaching a fever pitch in Washington, we have to publicize this crime.
We have to make sure every pro-life voter contacts every Congressman and Senator about this disgusting new Planned Parenthood scandal.
You would think that a prominent business dumping human bodies into a public landfill would be huge national news.
But it isn’t. We exposed this heinous crime six years ago, and the pro-abortion mainstream media ignored us. Now, as it gains traction in the wider pro-life movement, they’re STILL trying to cover up for Planned Parenthood!
Protecting the “right” to murder children is more important to these people than anything else.

Operation Rescue® is one of the leading pro-life Christian activist organizations in the nation. Operation Rescue® recently made headlines when it bought and closed an abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas and has become perhaps the most visible voice of the pro-life activist movement in America. Its activities are on the cutting edge of the abortion issue, taking direct action to restore legal personhood to the pre-born and stop abortion in obedience to biblical mandates.

Pro-Life Pregnancy Center Shines Light in Abortion-Darkened New Jersey City

lighthousepregnancycenter

By Rachel Leigh

In the ethnically diverse city of Paterson, New Jersey, a brand new pregnancy center opened its doors Oct. 25.

Paterson has a rich history as the nation’s first planned industrial city, but today struggles with the challenges of high unemployment, drug use, and a child poverty rate of 41 percent—three times higher than the state average.

Twelve percent of pregnancies in Paterson are to teenage mothers.

In the midst of a city where being caught on the wrong street could be dangerous, the aptly named “Lighthouse Pregnancy Resource Center” is a light breaking through the darkness.

Founded in 1984 by a grandfather whose heart was moved as he came across ads for abortion clinics, Lighthouse was first established in the nearby borough of Allendale until moving to Hawthorne in 2005. An interim director was managing the center that year, when the board of directors approached Debbie Provencher, a local pastor’s wife with a background in communications and public relations, with the prospect of becoming the new director.

“I prayed for about five months and was going to say no,” Provencher said. “Then the interim director had to move, which put them in the position of possibly closing their doors.”

Feeling the call of God, she stepped up to the plate and took the role as Lighthouse’s director. Just three miles down the road from Hawthorne, Paterson was already on Provencher’s heart because of mission work she’d done there as a college student.
